I had Stanley Steemer come clean my tile floors in my kitchen and my bath. They did a decent job, but the real reason I requested their service was because i wanted a color seal to change the grout color. That is what they advertise, but when the technician showed up he told me they could not do the color seal - tile pattern was too small. So reluctantly i had them do the job, but it was upsetting because i seemed like i had been baited to get me to hire them, or maybe the technician was lazy - either way it felt like i was duped. read more

only one star because I couldn't score lower. I have been a customer for approx 20 years. SS has always done a great job for us in our previous home so I didn't think twice about calling them to our new home in a different city. I learned my lesson years ago to NEVER fill out the survey that the tech wants you to immediately fill out, nope! Carpet always looks different when dry. After drying I noticed several places that looked dirty still. I had my husband look at those rooms and he noticed same areas without me mentioning. He also felt there were "crunchy" areas in the carpet. Which is from not rinsing the carpet well enough. So between those couple things, not raking the carpet like they used to and then asking for tip I decided to call SS as they have a guarantee. Well the snittiest, snarkiest female answered. I couldn't talk, was so unprofessional. Then when I mentioned the tip. omg! Her professionalism was truly lacking. I Then asked for a supervisor. There was no way I was going to let SS back into my home again! This person cost SS a long term customer and I will spread the word and I do not know of any business that can afford those kind of employees right now. She is truly a liability. We booked a three-room rug cleaning, which was performed today. The young guy who did the cleaning, Nathan, was remarkably personable, appropriately polite, and an excellent communicator. Once he established how we'd like him to proceed, he adjusted our work order to reflect what the company qualifies as a room, explained the pricing, phoned his office to communicate the changes, and set his equipment into motion, giving our carpets a thorough cleaning. He offered to help move furniture to clean areas obstructed by their placement, provided us with vinyl plastic squares to place beneath furniture legs that might contact the cleaned rug to prevent bleeding, and foam squares to lift furniture off the rug to allow for thorough drying. Nathan's impressive display of skilled labor in motion, confidence in handling the equipment, and sensitivity to our furnishings and pets made for a stress-free carpet cleaning experience. A friend called to ask about the work done, and we happily shared that we are very pleased with the professionalism of this young man and the great result upon completion. As I prepared to write this review, I noticed several negative reviews, and I am comfortable acknowledging that, in our experience, Stanley Steemer and their employee, Nathan, exceeded our expectations and at a very reasonable price. read more

I had to do a move out carpet and wood floor cleaning and needed it to be under a certain amount and on a certain day and this worked out fine. The carpets were more than ten years old so it wasn't gonna be perfect but two guys came, they took a couple hours and I had a coupon so in the end it was not bad. The only thing I didn't like was their window to arrive was between 8am and 1pm and that is a pretty difficult window to work around during a busy move out weekend. This was quite possibly the WORST service experience I have ever had. Do not use these people they are scam artists. My carpet is DIRTIER than it was before they cleaned it, and my stairs are RUINED. I now have to rip out all of the carpet that they "cleaned". There are bubbles in the carpet and it won't lay flat, they brought all of the dirt up to the surface and left it there and claimed it was the best they could do. I'm embarrassed to have company over now after what they've done to my floors. They even charged us for extra services that they never completed and charged us for products we did not buy. STAY AWAY!!!!!!! This company is a scam. Paid almost $100 for a clean couch. It was NOT cleaned. Called. They sent another technician out who saw that it wasn't cleaned well and took pictures and said he would talk to the supervisor. When the second cleaning dried, it was obvious that once again, the couch was not clean. I called and they said a supervisor would call me within two business days. No one ever called me, but I eventually got a text. They said they do not give refunds, but they would be happy to give me a coupon towards, a service in the future. Why would I hire a company that does sub par work and screws their customers over and yet has no customer satisfaction policy at all? Steer clear by all means of Stanley Steemer. I chose them because of availability. I would agree with most of the reviews they cleaned the carpets and when they fully dried there were spots from a couple of stains I had pointed out. The thing that really pushed me to write a review is that at the end of the service they ask for a tip! This is the first time I've seen this from a carpet cleaning service!! I have used this company for more than 30 years now. Up until this very moment I have been pretty happy with their services. In 2017 I had them stretch my carpet. At that time, they cut it and that cut was too much. Over the last couple years they have been working on this issue each time they came out to clean. A few months back we had moved all the furniture out of the living/dining area (that they messed up in 2017) to paint and clean and re-stretch the carpets. They told us if the room was ever emptied they would be able to 'fix' the messed up stretching issues. Well, they have been out 4+ times, each time trying to fix the new issues that one of the workers had made the time before. Now it is worse than it was before. Rob, the area manager, has made promises and then not followed through on them. I have been dealing with Jasmine in the customer service department, who has always been helpful until I asked them to follow through on the refund of services that Rob has promised. So here is where I am left. My transition areas from carpet to tile are now unstable and fraying. Where it was originally one area, it is now 2 areas. They left me saying I would just not be able to vacuum in those areas, or to avoid any 'heavy' vacuuming. They said I would have a 6 month warranty on the current work and Rob said he would be giving me a $400 credit (the amount I paid for their last service) for my trouble. I have been emailing Jasmine with zero follow-through from her. I finally called and got a hold of her today and she says Rob never promised me anything and they had done all they could. Basically they have destroyed my carpet and are walking away from it with zero compensation or responsibility. I am left in disgust that they would treat a long time customer with this lack of respect. On another note, I moved a desk in my office and found that they had cleaned too close to that wood desk and now have a great big area that is stained from that. I guess I am also left needing to replace all the carpet on the main level of my home because they can't seem to do their jobs correctly. read more

Had a carpet cleaning scheduled. Received a text saying that the tech would be here between 8 & 9am. He showed up at 9:40. He would not honor the coupon even though I met the minimum. I had called the corporate office and they said the minimum charge was $125. I placed my online order and the total was $125. After the fact, and benotes to me, the cleaning was $89 and there was a $36 fee to get up to the minimum of $125. After calling and talking to Brent at the Tigard Oregon office, he explained that only the $89 part was subtracted from the minimum so I would have had to added $36 to the transaction to make it around $166 to get the $25 off coupon. What a shady practice with false advertising. Why do a mailing if it's going to be this complicated? They lost a lot of business just from my neighborhood and I know some friends and family use them as well so that business is going away too. I'm sure a big company won't miss a few different transactions not happening, but I will definitely go with local companies now even if I have to pay more just because of their crappy customer service. What a horrible experience. I scheduled to have my dryer vent cleaned, the woman who did the scheduling told me a whole list of things that are included in the price of $175. It was to be an inspection, then clean everything from the lint trap, the floor of the inside of dryer, the vent inside the dryer, the flex tube from the dryer to the floor and then the line of vent from the floor to the outside exhaust. What I got was a guy who said he usually just does inspections/quotes for air duct cleaning (not dryer vents) and they sent him to do the work on the dryer vent with a little air compressor that didn't hold pressure. First he tells me they don't do anything except the lint trap and the vent under the house, they do not take anything apart to do any of the other stuff. He said the "inspection" is of the other air ducts so they can make a sale on that too. His little air compressor couldn't clear the vent, he said they will have to send the big truck with better equipment the next day. So 2 guys show up the next day, try to clean it but said they can't get it cleared and I must have a break in the line which they can't do anything about. So I ended up with a still plugged up vent and STILL HAD TO PAY THEM!!!!!! Oh and they wanted to upsell me on them cleaning my air ducts.... like oh ok sure, let me pay you more money for probably nothing. Do not WASTE your time requesting a wood floor clean. We paid to have all our furniture moved to the garage and they told us they could not clean our engineered hardwood floors due to residue build up. I'm BEYOND angry. Now we have to pay to move furniture back into the house. Save your TIME and MONEY! The associate/estimator "RYAN" came as scheduled and after I tried to converse with him (asked questions about the procedure) he seemed unwilling to answer my inquires. His over all attitude I found to be offensive and un welcoming as a representative of Stanley Steamer. Because of the attitude and his offensive nature, I decided NOT to go with Stanley Steamer. I have written several good reviews for their carpet cleaning service, but if THIS person, I felt was to be a representation of what I was getting, for something as important to me as my heating system then this was not the company I need. So I chose NOT to use Stanley Steamer and am going with a company willing to treat my questions with merit, after all, it is what I'm paying for. read more

I used this this business because they had a lot of appointment availability and popular company for carpet cleaning in the area. I was able to get an online quote and schedule easily. It was difficult to get a better ETA since the time of arrival was set between 8 AM and 1PM. On the day of the cleaning, I was notified that they were on their way. They only gave me a 5 minute warning and I was driving home from work. I called the number provided to ask them to have the technician wait since I was 15 minutes out they said they would turns out they never did. Fortunately, the technician called me directly and I explained my situation and that I was on my way. Unfortunate that he waited until I arrived. During the very quick walk-through he change my quote, so I was charged extra. I also went over the closing procedures to make sure my house is secure they left. When I got home five hours later, my house was left unlocked and it look like he had not cleaned anything of the carpets. I also saw on my property camera that he barely spent an hour at the house, which was surprising for six rooms for a 3,000 SQ FT house. The technician at also ripped an area of the carpet. My interior cameras were turned off during the cleaning. I don't know what they did, but I am not happy. I followed up two days later to the concerns. They did not offer anything other than a re-clean. I don't trust them to come based on my experience and I'm trying to get my money back. read more

I got a quote for an air duct cleaning. The person that came out counted up my vents/registers, had me watch two YouTube videos to explain the merit of the air duct cleaning (?) as well as an up-sell item for extra filtration. The quote landed in my email inbox. I realized that there was a promotional offer I forgot to mention, so I called the customer service team and asked them to apply it. They sent up an updated quote with the discount applied, but they had added two vents to the quote (after a certain base amount, they charge additional per vent) which basically nullified the discount. I called the customer service team again. After a much lengthier call experience, their team member told me that they could not fix the quote and that I had to tell their on-site team to fix it. Needless to say, I immediately cancelled and found another company that ended up charging far less and didn't put me through an obnoxious sales process. None of this is on the employees, they were all as polite as I'd expect. I'd guess the worst parts of the experience are mandated by their corporate leadership. It's a good reminder to consider local options before going with a well-marketed national brand. read more

He asked about heavy traffic and spots which would need more attention. He went over it once; left dark areas on the traffic area and there are still untreated soiled spots. Glad corporate posted a response here, but it doesn't match up with whoever contacted me actually said. I was told that they showed up as requested by the client and that they will continue to do this as long as the client requests this. It didn't seem like they cared about disrupting the community they serve one bit. I guess the needs of a corporate entity outweigh the rights of people in residential areas. It's quite reasonable to understand the noise ordinance in the area you conduct business in. I wouldn't be able to call a DJ to play outdoors at 9 or 10PM, and no DJ would agree to this because they'd have the common decency to respect the community. First time I hired them they did a below average job on our carpet cleaning. I decided to give them a second chance and this time they did an OK job on the carpet cleaning but their poor communication caused all kinds of problems. Even though we left detailed instructions as our house is for sale they managed to mess up the key and lock box causing my husband to drive across town to ensure people wanting to see the house could access it again. we followed up with a manager who of did not want to do anything about the situation because the carpet got cleaned. So that's great the carpet is cleaned but kind of a moot point if people can't access the house to see it. Needless to say we won't hire them again; we'll pay a little more but deal with companies who stand behind their service and don't hire people who can't follow instructions! read more

I had Stanley sterner come out about a month ago to clean my 1.5 year old carpet in the hallway from normal walking. the areas that were the most soiled (heavy traffic areas) looked worse when they were done. Even the technician agreed. I'm so mad that I paid $100.00 for this so I filed a complaint with Stanley Steemer. I was told someone would get back to me and it's now been almost a month. Brandon is awesome. Team of two came out to clean tile and my couch. I had almost no information for them as I had just moved in, and they were so patient and kind. They let me know the type of tile I had would not be ideal for their cleaning service because of the possibility of damage. So instead of charging me for a service for the flooring, they let me know some other options. They cleaned the couch wonderfully, and they did a great job. Very patient, flexible, and kind team. Things went ok once I got the right crew here. At first Samir and another man showed up. When they pulled the equipment in the house, I noticed a very foul odor. Then, when he started pre-treating the carpet the odor got stronger. I expressed concern and he told me it was my own pets I was smelling. Hmmm, I don't think my pets were inside the hose he brought in - that is when the smell started. Anyway, Samir was very condescending, disrespectful, and unfriendly. At one point he even told me I needed to "listen to him". Now, I'm not going to be disrespected in my own home, so I sent him and his assistant on their way and requested a new team. Jay and Hans arrived and did an excellent job. They were considerate and courteous. Anyway, my bedroom carpet was thrashed to the point I thought I'd have to just bite the bullet and say goodbye to my deposit, but those two guys did an AMAZING job! I thought I had asked for the "2 Rooms and a Hallway 99$ speical" but I had checked the wrong box and was looking at a $151 bill! I have already written a review and a couple of updates but here it goes again. after my first review of how poorly my carpet was cleaned well over a month ago, I got a response from a Daryl...business manager apologizing and told me to reach out to customer replations via email and someone would call. I did what he asked but never got a call. then one day I got an email stating they've been trying to call and left messages but funny thing is my voicemail hadn't been working. I had to call TMobile to figure out why I no longer had voicemail. They reset it so I can have voicemail again. I emailed back and said that someone could call after 2 PM. I received another email stating they can't call after 2 PM, so I said fine call whenever, and I will step away from my desk. well......... guess what? NO PHONE CALL. and it's been a couple weeks now. I have never in my life been treated so poorly by a well known company. I was rippEd out of $100. I have used Stanley Steemer twice to clean my carpets and upholstery. I love them! My carpets and upholstery look like new again My carpets are fluffy and clean. Colby did an amazing job. These guys are hard workers and true professionals. They take pride in a job well done. There was no pressure to upsell and they were courteous, respectful, on time and best of all did a great job. I needed my carpets cleaned and the cat urine smelled GONE. It took more than just a carpet cleaning. It also took replacing the tackstrip and padding, cleaning the back of the carpet.
