I have been with Stanley Steamer for 6 years or more.I have renewed my contract every time. When I had them come out this time ,they told me that my hall way was not covered under this contract.I told them that I never changed my contract and it has always been in it. The person that renewed my contract last time must of made a mistake and took the hall out.Most of the time I have them do something extra, and I pay to have it done.But this last time was the last. Not sure if I will renew contract again. I recently had two area rugs and three runners cleaned in my home. First, I was quoted by phone by Chris, who was very rude, $142.00. When the the cleaners arrived, they immediately began cleaning my rugs and half way through the cleaning I was asked if I wanted my carpets Scotch guarded. I asked how much that would be and he stated an extra $110.00. So, I agreed and believed the total would be $252.00. When I was given the bill it totaled $440.00. When I inquired how it was so much more than I was originally quoted, he stated the original measurements were wrong. This would have been helpful before they began cleaning. I've been laid off since Covid-19 and really couldn't afford $440.00 for two area rugs and three runners. Stanley Steemer, you should be ashamed of yourselves. You are truly a bunch of thieves!!!! This should be your first phone call when a whoops, uh oh, or oops happens on your carpet! There was an incident where I may or may not have been crafting on the living room carpet when a mysterious ballpoint pen accidentally broke on the floor. Honestly, I fully blame our two cats. I am quite sure they did it. After trying a handful of internet tricks and several recommended cleaners, the stain was still there though a bit lighter. I broke down and called Stanley Steemer. Angela answered the phone and was my angel in disguise. They were supposed to be all booked up but she sweet talked one of the guys into a next day service appointment for me. I thanked her repeatedly for that one! The next day arrives and so do my two helpful Stanley Steemer men, Greg and Joe. Greg immediately notices my slight southern accent and we hit it off as fellow east coasters turned Nevadans. He immediately got to work trying to get the stain out of my carpet. Joe was the official helper and gofer for all the various products Greg tried out on my carpet. They spent almost 45 minutes alone trying to get that stubborn stain out. I couldn't believe it! I didn't even have that much time or patience to try doing that and these are my floors! Greg was a miracle worker and got the stain down to two little tiny spots that are barely noticeable now. I couldn't believe it! Then they got around to cleaning the rest of the carpet. Joe was the resident Hercules, lifting up the furniture so Greg could steam underneath every single piece of extremely heavy furniture we have. He did it all one handed! My wife and I together can't move these couches if our lives depended on it! They spent another hour getting the living room carpet all steamed and beautiful. I offered them waters and gatorades for all of their hardwork, I've never seen two more gracious people for such a small offering. Honestly, they worked their butts off for me and those drinks were the absolute least I could do for such wonderful service. They were some of the nicest, kindest, chattiest guys I've ever had in my house and it was a pleasure to hang out with them while they made my carpet look like new again. They took their jobs seriously but they took their customer service even more so. This was some of the best customer service I've ever had while having something done on my house. I would highly recommend Stanley Steemer to anyone who needs their carpets, drapes, furniture, tiles, etc cleaned. They will take care of pretty much everything in your house for a reasonable fee. Now if you want to have a good time while having them tend to your house, be sure to ask for Greg and Joe. They made it feel like a fun house party while they cleaned my floor. read more

I've used Stanley Steemer before and they seemed to do a good job, but our experience today was very disappointing. After scheduling an online appointment for between the hours of 9 and 1, the crew didn't show up until 2:30. What made it worse was that the dispatch center, which is located in Las Vegas, called us at 12:10 to say they were on their way and would be there shortly. The crew told us that they hadn't even finished up their job in Reno at that time, let alone drove the one hour to get to our home. I own a condo that I rent out. I have new paint and new bamboo flooring. A pipe burst in the unit above my condo. Stanley Steemer came out for a water assessment and water extraction. The two employees that came out were wonderful. Lou and Chris took their time to assess dry wall, ducting, ceiling in multiple areas, flooring, inside closets and the entry hall to make sure everything was dry when they left. They used some type of meter to find areas with water and then went to work. My paint, drywall and flooring was saved and is as good as new. I have found that owning a dog, a backyard, a doggy door, and light beige carpeting is NOT a sterling idea. My dog's idea of fun is to roll in the dirt then come inside and roll on the carpet. Another fun thing is to paw around in any standing water (after sprinklers), then run like the wind through the house. My carpeting is taking a doggy beating. I'm a huge fan of Stanley Steemer, I used them when I lived in Florida, where the sand and salty air does terrible things to carpeting. I knew I needed their help here in Reno. The entire team is great to work with, from the person who makes my appointment to the dispatcher who calls and lets me know the techs are on their way, and finally to the cleaning tech, Michael, who I now request by name. I've used him now, three times. Michael and his partner ( this last time, his partner was Mary), do an outstanding job. Very thorough, very amendable to moving big furniture around, always pleasant, and very responsive to any special requests I have. He always go above and beyond my expectations. I like the whole experience so much that I bought a contract with Stanley Steemer to have my carpets done every 3-4 months at a reduced price. It's very much worth it to me. Extremely satisfied! I called the morning of, to see if they had any openings. They did! They gave me a window between 2p-6p. I got a phone call at 12:30, saying they could be there earlier if we were avail. Indeed we were, and super happy to have them early. They showed up just before 1pm. Very friendly, very professional. Anthony and Ricardo introduced themselves. They came in, assessed the house, and got down to business. They took excellent care of our furniture. They went above and beyond to make sure our carpets were perfect before we left. They look AMAZING! This morning we got up and can't believe the marked difference. Just beautiful. We have a very light colored carpet, and we take the necessary steps to keep it as clean as we can, but a professional carpet cleaning makes all the difference! My husband and I called Stanley Steamer to clean and reseal the grout in our kitchen and downstairs bathroom. After we moved into our house we found out that the grout had never been sealed - and it looked bad! The two guys who came were considerate and helped choose a grout seal that would compliment our decor. They were very professional and our floors look wonderful now!!! read more

We have used Stanley Steemer multiple times in the past both in CA and NV and have never had anything but great things to say about the experience. In the past they never had any issues moving our SAME furniture but this time was much different. Here are some of the issues we encountered: - Scuffed walls - Disfigured hardwood - Complained about moving furniture!!!! - Would not put down sheets/foam protection pads under beds - Carpet has ripples in some areas now (carpet only 3 years old) - RUDE - Very pushy upselling - Broke a part off of our bed But on a positive note they did clean the carpets quite well, especially the car floor mat covered in oil. I called their 1-800 to complain about the service and all I wanted was a call back and an apology. NEVER received a call from the manager. I will not use the Stanley Steemer in Reno again. Not a good experience at all. I will have to follow my friend's advice next time and use Evergreen Carpet Care in Sparks. read more

I called Stanley Steemer to clean my couch, loveseat and a chair and ottoman. They were full of pet hair and I figured that a professional cleaning would take care of it. NOT! The crew showed up on time and were considerate of keeping the carpet clean, a plus for them. However they were completely clueless as to cleaning the upholstery. The pet hair could not be removed. They had no brushes on their equipment, and they couldn't even remove a little piece of caramel candy that was stuck between the cushion and the back of the sofa. I had to go get a knife to scrape it off! These guys were apologetic for not having the proper equipment, but that was it. They had no ownership of responsibility and no offer of a discount or comp. Another negative is that they kept trying to upsell me deodorizers, protectants, etc. Needless to say I declined. These guys may be OK for carpets (don't know) but stay away if you want clean upholstery. read more

I have used Stanley Steamer several time but I have never been disappointed like I was this time. Also I was told a manager was to call me on Monday, May 11, 2015 but no call. My appt. was for a certain window and no phone call they were going to be late, I called and was told two different stories. I stressed that I had an appt. I needed to be at and was assured they would be there timely which they were not. I was going to buy another contract but after this last experience I decided maybe I should try another carpet cleaning service. Especially now since the manager never bothered to call me as promised by the staff. He was to busy to speak with me on Saturday as well as they said they could not contact him because he was dispatching. Sunday, after heavy rains, my husband discovered that water had settled in the basement causing areas of my new carpet sitting in water. I called their 800 number at 4pm requesting service. I was told that someone will contact me - 5pm I called about status; was told someone will contact me; 6:20pm someone calls and assurances me of going to the shop to get equipment. 7pm, they will arrive " 25 minutes or so". I wait and no show. Finally, I called their Sparks # (8:40pm) and was told someone would be there in a few minutes. We waited, 9:40pm finally someone arrives and I told them I was not very happy! They apologized and had forgotten something, so they had go back. They finished at 10:30pm and I was very pleased with the work done. Six and a half hours to get a job done is unacceptable! Monday, I called the 800 # and requested to talk to the local manager about last night. I was told he will contact me after he reviews my complaint. No return call to date - What is the expected time to return a customer's call? I'm just disappointed. read more

This company is the ABSOLUTE BEST! We had a very, very bad situation with pet stains due to some renters' animals and called in the help of the Reno/Sparks Stanley Steemer team! They were phenomenal...absolutely amazing...in restoring our carpets! The owner, Brandon, is very professional and guarantees satisfaction. Freddie was our chief restoration technician and we couldn't have asked for a more polite or harder worker. He worked non-stop and wanted the job done right. At one point, we had three Stanley Steemer trucks parked in front of our house and five technicians working on our carpets in order to get our carpet problems resolved quickly. The technicians were all friendly, competent and professional. Honestly, if you need your carpets cleaned or restored, these guys are THE BEST!
