My son, Todd Lovering, scheduled Stanley Steemer, Reno, to clean and treat/remove pet stained areas in my small home in early January. The cleaner walked through the rooms (two bedrooms, hall and living room) indicating the areas that needed special pet urine treatment. The job took about an hour and the cleaner charged over $300! The carpets were soaking wet for over 48 hours, smelled horribly of urine and a sickly perfume odor. The smell was terrible and the pet urine was still there. Awful job! About 10 days later my son hired a different professional, recommended by the residential management company where he lives, to redo Stanley Steemer's work. They did an excellent job! The urine and perfume odors are gone. Cost $150. Wonderful job! Stanley Steemer should refund the poor quality job in full. read more

I recently found myself in need of professional carpet cleaning after my dog had a stomach isssue. My friend referred me to this franchise owned by a friend of her family. I asked for furniture cleaning and carpet cleaning in two areas - hallway and home office. I welcomed a highly professional technician named William. I had an appointment and had to leave but my husband was here. I returned to wonderfully clean furniture and hallway carpeting. Unfortunately, the home office carpet still smelled awful. I contacted management and they offered to come back the next day. This was Friday, I asked them to come Monday as weekend was busy. Techs were here first thing Monday. They recleaned the entire area. So far all we smell is clean carpet. I really appreciate the professionalism and attention to customer service. First I am going to tell you, the job was amazing. 2nd, do not call corporate to make an appt, get estimate etc. They up charge and misquote pricing. Call your local location office!! Now our technician actually arrived early which was great. We did get a text saying when he was on his way. Victor from the Reno, NV office was our technician that day. He was prompt and professional. When he came in to look over the order there were some differences in the pricing. Not by his fault, but the fault of corporate. Once we worked out the differences and came to an agreement on the price, which was a little more than we had expected. But it is 1 1/2 year old carpet we had installed, so want to take care of it. Now we prepped the house, pre-vacuumed, picked up all loose furniture etc. Victor has clearly done this for some time. The outcome was fantastic. Now we have a little addition room with like the indoor/outdoor carpet that he was actually able to clean. We have no clue if it has ever been shampooed in all the years my in-laws lived in this house. When Victor was finished with it, it looked like brand-new carpet. All n all, I would give them 10 stars if I could. Ask for Victor. You could not even tell he had been there as far as his equipment clean up etc. Ask for Victor, he was excellent!! Had them out to clean carpets in the entire home but after the tech left, I noticed that the carpet had not been cleaned in the master bathroom. When corporate asked for a review, I gave them the lowest rating and (I assume) the owner called within minutes telling me that the tech asked me if I wanted to clean that area for an extra charge and I said I didn't, which is not true. Why WOULDN'T I want it cleaned, even if there was an extra charge? Then, they said that they'd come out again and clean it but had to charge $35! The space is only about 10 square feet... I hope that $35 was worth it because I'll be leaving reviews like this and telling everyone I know not to patronize this business. read more

We have a massive area rug that covers 90% of our living room (see photo). They were going to charge us to clean a "living room rug" and an "area rug" without cleaning the living room rug. So they wanted to double charge us. When we asked them to not charge us for the living room rug that is completely covered by an area rug, they said they have to charge us to meet a minimum. We had a hallway and bedroom to clean as well and we're already over the minimum. wanted to charge us $300 to meet to $200 minimum. We went with Evergreen to clean our carpets instead. Crew damaged several areas around my house. this is a brand new house which is completely empty so nothing was on their way. I called the same day and I was told I would hear back from manager within 24hrs. I then called them after the 24hrs and they said it would be within 24-48hrs and that the manager was in a meeting but that we would call me right back. He never called. I called again and they said I would need to speak to the owner and that he was in a meeting. I then mentioned that it had been 48hrs and the person who answered the phone said that he didnt know anything and that I needed to talk to owner. I went into the office and I was completely shutdown by the front desk person. He said he was just the dispatcher and that they didn't have a manager. I later called at 8 pm and quickly a live person answered the phone to help me change my appointment day. Yikes, once again I had to change the date, and call the local vendar and they once again made it easy to change. I loved the "day of notifications". They texted me when they were arriving. He wanted to get replacements but was told no by management. They refused and hung up on me. Don't do business with these people because they don't care. Just got a return call from the local office apologizing for the previous conversations and offered to clean my carpets today. Called for a duct cleaning estimate. Informed salesman that I was shopping and would be calling my dad after for his opinion (he owns an hvac company which Stanley Steamers has a partnership with ). After he left I get a call from my boss because the salesman assumed I worked with my dad and he called the company I worked at (no clue how he figured that out) and asked to speak to my dad. I run a business with my brother so he couldn't find him ahha but never the less he informed my brother that I was smoking and drinking. I'm a 23 year old man I can do what I want and the fact this salesman thinks he's a PI and is sharing my personal info with people who never requested service is disgusting. Assuming he thought my dad was paying so he tried to sneak around me and win his trust. It was my money and I will never spend it here. Iv used Stanley steamer many time and spent thousands of dollars with them. I set an appointment for Dec 23 for carpet cleaning and furniture cleaning. They call me so I could pay which I did and then I received a call from my mother who was at my house telling me my couch was ripped. I called the branch within 1 hour of the guys ( Rich and Dakota) leaving. The operations manager had me send pictures to him and then told me probably would get back to me until after the holidays which is understandable. he then reaches out and sets and appointment to come look at the couches this was on Wednesday December 28. Him and another gentlemen came to my house and look at the couch as he was looking at the couch he said our equipment is smooth it can't tear the couch. Which is ridiculous To even say. Then as they were leaving one of the gentlemen tried to sell me dryer vent cleaning which was pretty unprofessional considering what was happening. After they left he asked me to send him receipts of the couch which I did then he told me he would reach out in a few days. Today 12/30/2022 he calls and leaves a message that he talked to his guys and that after further investigation his crew didnt damage the couch and his equipment couldnt do the damage. Think it's pretty sad that I would spend 875 dollars for a service and they ripper my couch and then have the audacity to Deny it, it's not like I called days later it was literally less than an hour and that was only because I wasn't home and the part they ripped was on the back and not easily visible. The response time In providing an estimate and scheduling service to clean my ductwork was very quick. I chose Stanley Steemer because of other reviews and the fact that that are a larger company. First thing was that the technicians used my brand new couch to place tools and dirty ceiling register. The least they could have done was place something over my brand new couch to catch all the debris that fell from my ceiling registers. I tried my best to move furniture to provide ease of access before their arrival. They were here for 3 hours. Upon leaving, my furnace began making a large noise, inspection revealed that the fan was pushed into the housing. I'm not sure if they accidentally pushed the exhaust ductwork causing the problem. To their credit they quickly came back in to see what the issue was and I was informed that if it persists I can contact the company later. In the days since servicing my ductwork I have discovered that they spilled sheet metal screws all over the ground in the mechanical room. Today I was doing some additional work in the house and noticed that most all of my registers and vent guards were bent upon securing to the wall. Drills have torque settings for a reason. I debated on posting a review until I noticed my registers today. All in all I think the work was unprofessional and rushed. Not worth $600. A National company should have standards in workmanship which I feel are lacking. read more

We recently had them clean the carpets throughout our new house. The budget didn't allow for new carpet after purchase and I'm happy to report they managed to get out 90% of the stains which was more than I expected after attempting to clean them myself with a store rental. My only issue, if you could call it that, was the service tech who seemed a bit out of it. I had just driven from out of state to purchase a car. When I arrived the car was covered in animal hair and dander. I am super allergic to animal dander and have asthma attacks. The dealership hadn't cleaned the car well enough and I was having trouble breathing. I was thinking, "If only I could get Stanley Steamer to neutralize the allergens in my vehicle I will be okay." DAY 2, FEB. 18: The next day, service specialists Jesse & Daniel arrived early (in their HUGE, impressive vacuum truck), explained the whole process and jumped into action. I can barely begin to express my satisfaction with this crew. These professional young men were punctual, neat & clean, friendly, well-trained, efficient, and thorough. It took almost 3 hours to complete the process of cleaning the air ducts & dryer vent, and sanitizing & testing the system. I was hoping using a National company, I would be giving a good, honest service. Boy, was I wrong!!! I gave them detailed information for the house they would be cleaning. I told them we had issues with dog's marking their territory. It is 3 stories with 3 landings. I gave them the exact square footage of the areas to be cleaned. I was given a quote for under 900$ including 10% off. However, once they showed up to clean.. the cost suddenly went up and up and up. It seemed like at every opportunity they could up charge they did. They increased the price saying it was due to dog markings. Which I had already informed them when getting a quote. Then they were done they increased the price again, saying it was due to it being bigger then they thought. Again, I gave them the exact square footage on the phone. I was on a major time restraint, or I would have told them to forget it. I didn't have time to reschedule and go with a different company. They charged more then 1400$. During covid, I didn't have an extra 500$ I felt completely taken advantage of. Shame on them for preying on people who are on a bind. Some of the spots have already come back. The technicians called ahead which was great because they ended up getting here right at the beginning of the service time I requested. Since there were two guys, they were able to work continuously, switching off duties, and ensuring everything was thoroughly cleaned. They completed 3 rooms and my hallway in about an hour, which was amazingly fast given how dirty the carpets were. The price was more than the other guys (I have a post about them), but worth every penny. They have earned my business, and I will be going to them for all my future carpet cleaning. I called to schedule an appointment for them to clean all our furniture. They were able to come out the same day. My furniture looks like it did when I 1st bought it. My techs were friendly, professional, and timely. They called me to let me know they were on their way and even called me to let me know that they were going to be a little late. I am not pleased with my service with Stanley Steemer today and will not be using them again. I scheduled my appointment online and in the specified note section I put the special instructions that I needed my living room and hallway upstairs done and that there would be pet stains because I knew I would not be there and would have someone at my house for when they arrived. The person who I had at my house later came back and told me that the technician said he couldn't get the dog piss out in the hallway upstairs and that our carpet needed to be ripped up and there was nothing that they could do. My living room floor wasn't even cleaned and the living room didn't need as much care as the hallway. I call and I'm not given a satisfied answer only that it would've been unsuccessful. We called and made an appointment with the Reno location to have our carpets cleaned. We told them that we had a new puppy and needed our carpets cleaned from that. We were scheduled and given a quote of $215. When the technician arrived he told my wife that they wouldn't guarantee their work unless we paid an additional $100 pet pre-treating charge that was never mentioned before. She reluctantly agreed to this charge. At the end of the service she was charged $404. Not anywhere near the $215 quote. The technician was not there any extra time. I feel that my wife was taken advantage of with unethical business practices. The quality of the cleaning was fine. I called to get an explanation of the charges and was told that the owner would call me. I have never received a call. I will not do business with them again. read more
