Stanford Electric was sent out through my home warranty. The owner was extremely rude and unwilling to help with any of the many electrical issues I was having. I tried to set up my Google doorbell on my own but the transformer didn't have power. He said he was unable to fix the power issue because I didn't have a chime. I paid out of my own pocket to have another electrician come out and replace the transformer in a few minutes and had my doorbell working without a chime. I would never use this electrician. Very impersonal and rude. His assistant, however, was very nice. read more

The technician that came tyo assess and fix my problem completely misdiagnosed the problem and basically ignored what was told to them as the issue. Then becasue they were sent by the home insurance reported dthe problem solved ! I owuld not recommend them at all. read more

Came through AHS after a separate issue came up provided solid and quick work. Much appreciated.

Called my home warranty AHS in regards to my bathroom exhaust fan that stopped working. I was able to schedule an appointment for the next day. They could be better about their communication time (since I don't live at the property). But not knocking on that because they were efficient and quick! New motor replaced and the fan worked again :) highly recommend them!! read more

Our home warranty, referred Stanford electric to come out and service our electrical issue. Both Doug and Eddie worked as a team to rectify the situation. Although it was a fairly simple job due to the solar company, not having the right amp to service our kitchen. They were able to rectify the situation within 30 minutes. They were friendly and prompt to arrive. read more

Tuesday morning, I saw sparks and smoke coming from our kitchen outlet. After shutting off the main power I called home warranty. Within a couple hours Douglas called and scheduled a visit for the next day. He showed up on time with Eddie and fixed the faulty outlet. He was kind enough to change out a few loose outlets for me. Eddie was careful to clean up any mess that was made. Stanford customer service is top notch. If only America Home Shield could always good have such professional and competent vendors such as Stanford Electric. read more

Based on the content of the reviews here it seems like Doug and Eddie handle simple issues well, but in my case they were not helpful with the more complex issues existing in my home. Doug also spoke to me with a brusque manner and dismissive attitude when I politely asked clarifying questions about the lack of resolution. And they tracked dirt into my home that I had to vacuum afterwards. I found this review on Nextdoor that is consistent with the experience I had. read more

I had lost power in part of my kitchen. My warranty company assigned them to my case. Quick response, and they showed up on time. Very professional and quickly found the solution. They took the time to explain to me what the issue had been resolved and how to fix it, if it ever happens again--learned something new, which is always a good thing too. Problem fixed and learned something new, double bonus. I recommend their services/ read more

I am new to the area and may not be the most talented DIY woman but after getting the run around, being quoted ridiculous numbers to hang a straight forward pendant light with its already installed ceiling wires and prewired dimmer switch -- All I was asking was for a fair shake and a decent job. I got that with Stanford Electric. I reached out via Yelp messenger and Douglas responded via email and phone promptly. I explained what I needed and he quoted me $100/hr saying that if the job took less than that time, we could work together to prorate. Finally, some common sense! I emailed him pictures of the existing area and also what my light looked like and he assured me we could get the job done the same day or the next day at the latest. When the electrician, Josh, showed up at the end of the same day I called, he was pleasant, he did a neat job so as not to create/leave a mess, he measured and asked me if I needed any final adjustments once the light was up, I paid him via Zelle, and we were done in less than an hour. Pendant light cost me $75; install was $75 which compared to other quotes was fair all-around. Other companies' quotes in the surrounding area and online came in at twice that ($140-225). Really?! I was willing to return the light and forget about the whole thing had I not found someone reasonable/reliable to install it. I would recommend Stanford Electric and should the need arise, I would use them again. Thank you read more

Someone stole breakers from our property in the middle of the night and we needed an electrician to come help us reinstall new breakers. Stanford Electric is the first company I called in the morning... early morning... 7 am - he picked up and was ready to help immediately. I'm not even sure who specifically I spoke to, but I'm not kidding when I say he (Josh or Doug I suppose based on reviews) spoke to me for about 30-minutes trying to help me work things out since he had the flu and couldn't come out to do the job. He even called me several hours later after speaking to a friend who said he'd be able to do the job. When I told him that I had already scheduled an electrician he asked me how much I was quoted to ensure that it was reasonable. What a mensch! So to whoever I spoke to today, thank you for your patience and genuine interest in helping me out. Hopefully we don't have any electrical issues in the future, but if we do, you'll be the first person I call. Writing this review is the least I can do. Thank you! read more

My heater went out on Christmas Eve and my breaker would not stay on .This is a very difficult time to reach anybody and through my home warranty system I had another electrician out here first who gave me very poor service so I requested a second opinion and my friend recommended this company as they had just helped her with an electrical issue. In less then one hour the Bad breaker was switched out and now everything is working properly and I have heat! It has been below 40 the past few nights and not much warmer in my house. I have learned it pays to trust the experienced mature repair man as they know what they're doing. I highly recommend this company to honestly help you with your electrical needs. read more

Very honest and prompt. I am saving their contact for all my electrical needs in the future. If you need electric work look no further. They had a single young person who did most of their jobs. When he quit they couldn't handle most requirements. The kid was good when I needed some bathroom vents installed. But when he fell ill, job was on hold. Had to wait till he felt better. He did a few days later and finished the job. When I called the 2 owners for another job a month later, they said the kid quit and they didn't do any thing beyond simple electrical work. read more

Our Warranty company hired them to fix bathroom exhaust fan. Doug and his coworker came and replaced it and since room needed a stronger motor than the one he had on his truck, Doug came back with a stronger motor and didn't bill us. What's extra special is Doug reached out to me to replace with a stronger exhaust fan. Doug goes above and beyond and I highly recommend him for all your electric work in your home. He's a very experienced electrician. Doug also upgraded our fuse box for our oven a while ago. read more

My tenant needed a dimmer switch fixed, he had no light in his bedroom/office. Tonight I ran the air fryer and microwave oven at the same time and the circuits blew, including the refrigerator. It was about 7:00pm and I called Stanford Electric which I found on Yelp's 24 hour electrician listing. I spoke to Douglas and he was extremely helpful. He tried to walk me through how to fix the issue but it didn't work. He sent one of his electricians, Eddie, who arrived about an hour later. Eddie was very kind and efficient. He checked our circuit breaker and replaced both kitchen GFCI outlets within the hour. All worked fine. I would not hesitate to call Stanford Electric in the future! read more

Unprofessional, no sense of responsibility or urgency. I waited 1 month for them to do a small simple job, canceled on me 2 times, said they don't own even a paint brush to touch up a lil dry wall they would work on. This guys calls you at 9pm at night thinking it's still work time to ask you questions about the job they have already seen at your house 2 times. I still gave them a chance to actually do the job until I waited hours for them to show up which they didn't, then decided to call and cancel to save my house and my wallet. So many strike outs! Be aware! I'm not one to waste my time with reviews, but these guys really wasted my time, big time. Hopefully this review will help these guys get their acts together to become more successful. read more

Our home warranty sent these guys to us regarding a fan that stopped working. I have no idea how they continue to get business that isn't driven by Old Republic. From the inability to set an appointment time to rude interactions with by my wife and I each time they were here, our experience was terrible. Highly recommend staying away. read more

This people are extremely unprofessional, slow, inefficient! We made an appointment and they were 4 hrs late! Never gave us a heads-up! They destroyed the outlets in our kitchen and could not figure the problem out. They wasted 2 hr of our time and we had to find a different contractor who actually were able to identify the issue. They were cursing and making negative comments about our house while we were there. Extremely unprofessional, sloppy, rude, and inadequately trained! Terrible experience! read more

Our home warranty send them to fix our electrical issue at kitchen. The issue was about a tripped fuse which disabled kitchen outlets. Horrible experiences: first off, they were unable to resolve the issue. It took them 3 visits, without addressing anything, before they gave up on us. On the last time I called them for revisiting this because the same fuse tripped again, they started to make things up by saying it was my wife's fault because she's been using too many kitchen appliances at the same time - well, we've only been using our KitchenAid that's all. I explained to them that we need another visit before this same problem was never fixed by them, only to be told by them that "I don't know what to do about it". I further added that our kitchen right now is not working because of this, I really needed some help. But again they were completely indifferent to our situation and said "I thought you are on home warranty, tell them to send someone else". I think this is how much they care about their customers and reflects the attitude of them towards even the mess they left behind! Stay away if possible. read more

Doug and Jordan diagnosed and fixed our electrical problem very quickly. I especially appreciated that they came later the evening because they were delayed on their previous job. We had a power outage on our street that lasted all day. When the juice came back on, only half of our house has electricity. Standford Electric was dispatched to our home. I called them in the morning; they were at our home by the afternoon. Two men. They located the problem (blown main circuit breaker), replaced it and were in and out in less than an hour. Excellent work; very responsive. Highly recommended. I read some of the negative reviews on Yelp and disagree with them. I had an excellent experience. read more

My home warranty company assign these guys to me..My ac was not working because it wasnt getting any power going to the condenser.. Anyhow they show up and assessed it and told me the breaker was defective and needed to be replaced.. I'm thinking not a big problem they just need to order the breaker and replace it.. Anyhow a couple days later my home warranty company said they will not cover the job cause I need my whole electrical panel replace???? So I purchase a new breaker YouTube how to replace the breaker and now my ac is working .. I don't know if they are being dishonest cause they show up for 5 minutes and I'm sure they got paid there full rate for that from the home warranty company and now they try to extract more out of pocket money from me for a bigger job not is not necessary needed? Douglas came to my elderly parents' house in San Marcos on Memorial Day weekend and quickly fixed their worn out plugs. He responded quickly and called ahead when he was delayed on the previous job.
