Stanford Electric was sent out through my home warranty. The owner was extremely rude and unwilling to help with any of the many electrical issues I was having. I tried to set up my Google doorbell on my own but the transformer didn't have power. He said he was unable to fix the power issue because I didn't have a chime. I paid out of my own pocket to have another electrician come out and replace the transformer in a few minutes and had my doorbell working without a chime. I would never use this electrician. Very impersonal and rude. His assistant, however, was very nice. read more

Tuesday morning, I saw sparks and smoke coming from our kitchen outlet. After shutting off the main power I called home warranty. Within a couple hours Douglas called and scheduled a visit for the next day. He showed up on time with Eddie and fixed the faulty outlet. He was kind enough to change out a few loose outlets for me. I am new to the area and may not be the most talented DIY woman but after getting the run around, being quoted ridiculous numbers to hang a straight forward pendant light with its already installed ceiling wires and prewired dimmer switch -- All I was asking was for a fair shake and a decent job. I got that with Stanford Electric. I reached out via Yelp messenger and Douglas responded via email and phone promptly. I explained what I needed and he quoted me $100/hr saying that if the job took less than that time, we could work together to prorate. Finally, some common sense! I emailed him pictures of the existing area and also what my light looked like and he assured me we could get the job done the same day or the next day at the latest. When the electrician, Josh, showed up at the end of the same day I called, he was pleasant, he did a neat job so as not to create/leave a mess, he measured and asked me if I needed any final adjustments once the light was up, I paid him via Zelle, and we were done in less than an hour. Pendant light cost me $75; install was $75 which compared to other quotes was fair all-around. Other companies' quotes in the surrounding area and online came in at twice that ($140-225). Really?! I was willing to return the light and forget about the whole thing had I not found someone reasonable/reliable to install it. Stanford Electric is the first company I called in the morning... early morning... 7 am - he picked up and was ready to help immediately. I'm not even sure who specifically I spoke to, but I'm not kidding when I say he (Josh or Doug I suppose based on reviews) spoke to me for about 30-minutes trying to help me work things out since he had the flu and couldn't come out to do the job. He even called me several hours later after speaking to a friend who said he'd be able to do the job. When I told him that I had already scheduled an electrician he asked me how much I was quoted to ensure that it was reasonable. What a mensch! Our Warranty company hired them to fix bathroom exhaust fan. Doug and his coworker came and replaced it and since room needed a stronger motor than the one he had on his truck, Doug came back with a stronger motor and didn't bill us. It was about 7:00pm and I called Stanford Electric which I found on Yelp's 24 hour electrician listing. I spoke to Douglas and he was extremely helpful. They had a single young person who did most of their jobs. When he quit they couldn't handle most requirements. The kid was good when I needed some bathroom vents installed. But when he fell ill, job was on hold. Had to wait till he felt better. He did a few days later and finished the job. Our home warranty send them to fix our electrical issue at kitchen. The issue was about a tripped fuse which disabled kitchen outlets. Horrible experiences: first off, they were unable to resolve the issue. It took them 3 visits, without addressing anything, before they gave up on us. On the last time I called them for revisiting this because the same fuse tripped again, they started to make things up by saying it was my wife's fault because she's been using too many kitchen appliances at the same time - well, we've only been using our KitchenAid that's all. I explained to them that we need another visit before this same problem was never fixed by them, only to be told by them that "I don't know what to do about it". I further added that our kitchen right now is not working because of this, I really needed some help. But again they were completely indifferent to our situation and said "I thought you are on home warranty, tell them to send someone else". I waited 1 month for them to do a small simple job, canceled on me 2 times, said they don't own even a paint brush to touch up a lil dry wall they would work on. This guys calls you at 9pm at night thinking it's still work time to ask you questions about the job they have already seen at your house 2 times. I still gave them a chance to actually do the job until I waited hours for them to show up which they didn't, then decided to call and cancel to save my house and my wallet. So many strike outs! My home warranty company assign these guys to me..My ac was not working because it wasnt getting any power going to the condenser.. Anyhow they show up and assessed it and told me the breaker was defective and needed to be replaced.. I'm thinking not a big problem they just need to order the breaker and replace it.. Anyhow a couple days later my home warranty company said they will not cover the job cause I need my whole electrical panel replace????
