Twice now, (I will call him "Mr. Able" since I didn't get his name), he has helped me over the phone. The first time was a several years ago when I called to ask if he could replace a wired smoke detector in my hallway. He convinced that it was easy to do and that I could do it myself, and sure enough, it was easy to do and I did it myself, and I was amazed at how it worked out. Today, I called because I have some outlets in my house that were not working. He immediately diagnosed the issue over the phone, and he directed me out to the garage to find an outlet with two buttons, and asked me to FaceTime and reverse the camera and show him the outlet, and then he asked me to press the top button and listen for a click. So I pressed the top button and heard the click and he told me the problem was solved. I go check the outlets in the house and guess what? They are all working again!!!! Absolutely incredible. We had a short in our home that knocked out 90% of the power. I called Able Electric on Monday morning, and they said they could someone out on Tuesday morning at 8am. Daniel arrived at 8am and went right to work locating the problem in the main panel. PG&E was contacted and arrived within 20 minutes. They found the water had gotten into the meter, which shorted out the main post. PG&E cut the power. Daniel ordered the parts that were needed. He had to go to a small job in Camino, but stated he would return in a few hours. Within an hour the parts were delivered. At 12:30 Daniel and Greg arrived and got to work. At 3:30 PG&E was called. We had Eric install 6 lights in our living room area more than a year ago. Before installation, I told him I prefer warmer, yellower lighting. He insisted he knew better and that I would enjoy the brighter whiter lights. I asked for a dimmer, thinking that even if the lights were bright, I would be able to dim the whiteness considerably. Well, come night time, I turned on the lights and they were very bright and white even at the dimmest setting. I called and texted Eric to let him know of my dissatisfaction. He never responded to my calls or texts. Fast forward a year later, the dimmer that he installed gave out and the lights stopped turning on. We finally got the bulbs and the dimmer changed out today by a handyman. I am so happy with my new lights, I was inspired to write this review on the work of Able Electric. Quit scrolling. Quit searching. Just call Eric at Able Electric. Without a doubt one of the best tradesman I have ever dealt with and definitely my new go to guy for all my electrical needs. I had a broken outlet behind my dishwasher which was causing intermittent power failures to the unit. The dishwasher had to be removed to access the outlet. I called Able Electric based on their Yelp reviews. Eric came out the next day. He was extremely professional and very respectful of my home. Eric quickly and accurately diagnosed the problem. He removed the broken outlet and installed a new one under the sink that is far more accessible. To do this, he had to cut drywall and fish wires. One of the things I really liked about him was he explained everything he was doing and showed me the damaged parts. When he was done, he patched the drywall and cleaned everything up. During his inspection, Eric also found a breaker that was about to fail. He replaced that as well. His rate was very reasonable and I felt I got a lot for my money. To top it off, Eric is also a professional magician. After finishing the job he did about 15 minutes of close-up magic for my five year old grandson and family. All I can say is wow!!! I hate calling for outside services -plumbers, electricians....never know what you will get. I first worked with Able Electric with a couple outlets at a new office. Fair price, in and out. Great service. Never left a review. It was in and out. I had crown molding installed at my home and it was designed for lighting above. The crown installer insisted the electric be done first. But after speaking with these guys, they told me to have the crown installed and they will do their work after - it will save a trip and lower the cost. I did as he suggested, and it turned out absolutely phenomenal!!!! I will always use these guys. Honest. Priced fair (better than fair - other quotes were crazy). And the work was clean. Thank you Able!!! And btw, lighting above crown molding is pretty cool!!! Well worth a few extra bucks!!! Crown molding designs in Temecula and Able electric took my room to another level. Eric was knowledgeable, efficient, and courteous. He wore a mask which we appreciated! Friendly and funny guy. He was quite good at troubleshooting and was logical. He fixed a ceiling fan and did some bathroom lights and switches. He had some nice switches (from his truck) that were big improvements, and he taught us how to use one of them (a programmable dimmer switch). And since I didnt have an emergency it took about 2 weeks to get him here, which I was totally ok with, and he double confirmed. And boy did I have a list waiting for him - these lights flashing, those wont work, outside outlet dead, sprinkler timer stopped working, no GFCI over there. He solved some in minutes and completed the other repairs over a few hours, incl running out for some supplies. And all the while, he kept entertaining us with magic tricks. I can't say enough good things about Able Electric.. My power went out in half my house and I had my development's electrician come out and check it. They couldn't find the problem .. Update 4/2: Eric followed through with sending me the refund. I give the quality of work 5 stars, but I am giving an overall 4 star due to the experience highlighted below. Update 3/19: upon writing my initial review, Eric reached out to me on 2/21 and offered me a $100 refund to remove the review. I have yet to receive his refund check. I reminded him of the check three times over text, once per week. Two times he responded asking again for my address which I provided every time, and last time he did not respond. Yet again, a very unprofessional interaction with Eric. Problem summary: I am being charged for the company's commute time without prior agreement because I am "too far". I live in Tierrasanta, San Diego. Eric and his crew know what they are doing, and they do it well. Last year, I found Able Electric on yelp and called them over for a lot of work. Eric mentioned after he arrived and began working how it was odd that we found him in our area on Yelp since his service area is in North County, but he accepted the appointment regardless. Eric and another electrician spent around 6-7 hours to do the required work and charged me around $650. Time was well spent given the amount of work needed and I felt they charged me very fairly at that time. So much so that I called them again last month, to help install a motion sensor light for my garage which does not have drywall (it makes installation much simpler). Although he had explained before I am out of his service area, I figured if I was too far this time he would let me know ahead of time. When I called Eric and booked my new appointment with him, he failed to mention to me that I am too far him and that I will be charged extra for his commute time to come out to Tierrasanta. The job was well done, and it took 74 minutes: from 3:04PM to 4:18PM according to my alarm sensor's log. I was charged $309. It was an easy job, compared to what they had done for me before. I called Eric to inquire about this seemingly high charge, and only then did he tell me that I am too far and that in the future I better call other electricians who are in my area. He said two electricians at $50/hour is very reasonable. I agree that $50/hour is reasonable, I don't agree that I should be charged for 3 hours when the electricians were only here for 74 minutes. Very unprofessional interaction. This should have been mentioned during the first call when I was booking my appointment. I should not be charged for Eric's commute time without an explicit agreement. Beware when dealing with this company. read more

It was easy to book an appointment with Eric. As others have mentioned, they were polite and on time. Gave me a call when they were 30 minutes out. They wore booties, which was a huge plus, it speaks to their respectfulness and how they'll treat your home. We've had many contractors come through the house, and most of them do not wear booties. I've even had a supposedly "wood floor cleaning" guy track all this dirt in my house bc he didn't wear booties (a story for another day). Eric and Max installed a ceiling fan (Exhale Fan). It was an unconventional ceiling fan, but they took the time to read about the install beforehand and were ready to do it when they were here. Unfortunately, due to possibly manufacturing flaw - the fan wobbled quite a bit. I know they installed it correctly bc I also read the directions and watched them install it. They were patient and took the time to try to see if they could fix it, though it couldn't really be fixed in the end.
