Dr Davis cured my night blindness and vision with lasik. Last night I was driving in a rainstorm…read morewith oncoming headlights and was feeling grateful that I could see. This scenario in the past, I could only see a big blur of glare and would guess at the road until the headlights passed. My passengers were terrified! I had astigmatism with multpile abberations. The computer could configure one eye, but he had to custom configure the other eye. Frankly, the custom eye was better than the other. He invested a lot of time to make it as perfect as possible. On the drive home, I was astounded by the detail in nature that I could see for the first time. By the next day, I had some minor swelling that caused some halo effect and some blurry vision, but that completely resolved within two weeks. I used some dollar store readers at work to get through those two weeks. I've always had dry eyes and had permanent punctal plugs implanted, which helped, but the biggest help for dry eye, for me, was Pataday eye drops. I should add that my lasik was about 10 years ago and I'm still happy. My eyes have slightly changed over the years and I didn't pay for the lifetime enhancements, but I still see well. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND DR. DAVIS!

Dr Davis did my cateract surgery 7 years ago and I was completly happy with results. Recently…read morehoewever in early August I phoned to make an appointment as I was having floaters and curtain type symptoms I explained symptoms to the person taking the call and was informed there was no appointments available until Sept 20. So I scheduled, having limited knowledge of eye issues I took the appointment. As my vision became worse I contacted Moran eye center told them my symptoms and they had me come in that very day. The end result being I have a detached retina, a relatively simple procedure if handled in a timely manner( I should have been sent to emergency at the time I was making appoinment) The appointment person at Dr. Davis office failed to refer me anywhere, did not take appropriate or accurate information regarding my condition. My condition had progressed since then to a point that I am legally blind in that eye and now need a complicated surgery that may not correct my vision. I know if not for the gross incompetence of his staff, with at least some medical knowledge, my condition would not have progressed and the outcome would be better. When I called the office to cancel the appointment they had given me I voiced my issues and felt like they had no concern for this fiasco excepting a wish for good luck. In the meantime my life will drastically change if the corrective surgery at moran is ineffective. So if you call Dr Davis for an appointment make sure you talk to some one with more common sense, concern for the patient and symptoms. Because of an incompetent individual who was not accurate in taking information or considering that this is an emergency, or at least referring me some where else or even speaking to someone with some knowledge, successful repair would be highly more likely. Instead I now have potentially permanent vision loss. BEWARE. If no stars was an option that is what it would be as far as that staff person goes.

I am a colleague of Dr. Phil Hoopes, not a patient. I practice in Los Angeles. I visited Hoopes…read moreVision for a 2-day conference this past week (my second visit in the past 2 years). Hoopes Vision is one of the best and most well-respected practices in the nation, possibly in the entire world, for vision correction care and leading-edge clinical research. Yes, they have extraordinary technology to help their expert team deliver great care. But the entire team is also dedicated to excellence in patient care, crafting an unbelievable patient experience as well as creating outstanding results for the patients they serve. Drs. Phil Hoopes, Sr., Michael Bradley, Phil Hoopes Jr. and Majid Moshirfar are not only excellent technical surgeons but also wonderful, compassionate, caring people. It was an honor and treat to visit, learning from them as well as the entire team at Hoopes Vision. They lead by example. In an era where much in health care is going in another direction, they are true gentlemen; each much more modest than others might be in their situation; each dedicated to excellence in patient care, team spirit, and compassion for the patients they serve. I would recommend them in the strongest possible terms. David A. Wallace, M.D. LA Sight Los Angeles CA

Dr Gayer is the bomb. Do they say that anymore? Dr Gayer is so kind, patient, and knowledgeable…read more Did I say patient? Yes, patient. I can be a difficult eye patient, with all the machines, and probing, and prodding around my eyes. Each time they remind me that I need to get my eyes dilated, in order to have a proper eye exam. When I make my eye appointment it is during banker hours, and therefore I have to get back to work. I haven't had my eyes dilated for a few years now, due to the downtime, it takes for your eyes to be able to read printed words. I just found out that they are open on some Saturdays, and that I could make a Saturday appointment, that way I wouldn't have to take anytime off work. On a less than positive side, Keirsten the assistant, was very condescending, and borderline rude. I would also, like to see the "intake" machines updated. They remind me of old school eye exams where you covered one eye with your hand.

They are awesome at figuring out all the nitty-gritty insurance details so I can just get my glass/contacts/whatever and go. It's a small office with a nice homey and small office feel. They have a couple of doctors and I've seen them both. The service both doctors provide is outstanding and they work closely with each other so I've never felt the need to specify one over the other. Both doctors as well as the staff is always extremely patient and willing to spend time with you answering any questions you have. They are personable, friendly, and even when the office has had a number of other patients, they are always friendly and take the time to help each person while going out of their way to make those waiting comfortable. Even through I've seen the staff hopping and moving fast at times, I've never felt rushed and I've never seen any of the staff push or rush a patient. Draper Vision is truly a great place to go for your vision!
