I am new to Utah, I went in for my annual eye exam. They charged me $80 to try contacts that might work. I tried multiple pairs to get the right fit and vision. Once I found the right fit I went to Sam's to purchase full this prescription come to find out I purchased a years worth of contacts that I could wear, they gave me the wrong prescription. We had to start the whole process over. Go to Sam's in hopes they would exchanged them. This is the most wonderful place. I was so nervous. I have extreme anxiety. They made me feel so comfortable. This was from the pre op stuffs. I was very scared (just my insecurity). They made me feel so welcome. Thursday. My day to get my eyes zapped. The Dr. was coming in at the same as me. I'm pretty sure he remembered my name. He also like the vehicle (semi) I was in. Fine establishment. The building from the outside looks older, but the inside looks brand new. Nice waiting area, it was easy to call and make an appointment although it had to be scheduled out several weeks. Upon arrival they gave me some paperwork and then took me straight back, which made it slightly difficult to get the paperwork done, but also nice because I did not have to wait. Nice technician ladies and optometrist. They are an office that do the LASIK eye surgery, they seemed pretty big on that. All around a fine time. The only downfall was I was lead out of the exam room and back into the waiting room after my eyes had been dialated and I had no clue what or who I was waiting for. I stood there for at least 7 minutes until someone asked how they could help, I said I actually did not know haha. They determined to give me the paper sunglasses and my prescription and I was done. Went there with a specific problem and left there with zero solutions. The doctor came in and started a regular eye exam, like I was there for glasses. I just got glasses a month ago. I thought, ok maybe this is routine since I'm new. After he apologized for smelling like ALCOHOL, he concluded my exam by stating my eyes were perfect. Never addressed the issue I'm having and since they dilated my eyes, you couldn't see the redness I was having. So I brought it up and he totally blew me off and told me to do the same things I've already been doing. I work in a professional environment and now that we wear masks, my eyes are all people see. I left there disappointed to say the least. So today I am still sitting in my office with horribly red eyes with bubbles and non stop twitching looking for somewhere else to go. read more

I had LASIK done. My prescription was really strong, 20/600 uncorrected. Doctor Davis was careful to set the right expectations. They can't make any guarantees on the outcome but will shoot for 20/40 or better. The staff was very friendly and helpful especially Robyn. They explained everything very thoroughly. I was really nervous beforehand not knowing what to expect. The procedure only took about 10 minutes per eye. I noticed immediate improvement in my vision right after surgery even before my eyes healed. The next day I was already seeing 20/30. It's still early but I've been very pleased with them thus far. If I could I would give Davis Vision 10 Stars. Doctors Davis and Hepworth are extremely knowledgeable, competent and skilled. In fact, Dr. Davis is a nationally recognized pioneer in corrective eye surgery. I wouldn't trust my eyes to anyone else. And there's a highly skilled Optician, Sue, on site to help with glasses and contact lenses. But perhaps my highest compliment to Davis Vision goes to the staff that Dr. Davis has put together. Everyone is pleasant and attentive. There has never been a time they haven't greeted me by name and made me feel welcome. Sue, the Optician, always accommodates my erratic adventurous schedule by allowing me to pick up my contact lens order after hours or even on days they're not open. C'mon, really. Life changing experience!! I am 44 years old, and I was near-sighted and had a severe astigmatism. My vision was about 20/200. I had my lasik procedure on Nov 11th. At my post-op appointment less than 24hrs later, my vision was 20/20. I did not lose any close up vision. The procedure itself was quick and easy. No pain at all, just mild discomfort for about 20 seconds on each eye. As someone who was hesitant to get this done, I feel silly that I didn't meet with Dr Davis years ago. Just got LASIK 7/28 and just the day after already see almost 20/20! On the day of surgery, I got there at 1:15, was out by 3pm. The doctor explained everything as it happened, no pain, and I wasn't scared or nervous at all. My wife even was able to video my surgery from the waiting area! My husband and I both saw Dr. Davis for our LASIK surgery. My husband had traditional Lasik and I had PRK. We both had a phenomenal experience with the staff and with our procedures. I had my PRK surgery yesterday and I am already seeing better than expected. Though the recovery is different than traditional lasik (which we experienced with my husband in May), it is no where near as difficult or painful as I had anticipated. My husband had PRK done over a week ago and is seeing worse than before. At the consult we were just passed off room to room and a new person would come in and start spewing out info as if we knew what they were talking about. They assumed we were doing prk and neither of us had talked to anyone about the procedures or what to expect. Hence a consult. They kept telling us we had the choice between lasik and prk but then talked like we had already decided but at the same time let them know what procedure we were doing. The consult was a monday and the procedure was scheduled for that wednesday but NO ONE gave us a time to come in they just threw a packet at us and said get these drops and start today. The first person said it would be in the afternoon again we left the appointment not knowing a time and the main person was busy so we were told to call for a set time. We both work and its a 40 minute drive for us so we needed to work out a schedule. We tried calling multiple times to ask more questions as told to do and once someone finally gave us a time we were supposed to "be there at 11:30 they don't do it in the afternoon" Wait what? The lack of communication between staff and my husband eyesight was just another chart should have been a red flag for us. We were planning prk but still looking at lasik due to healing time. All we were told to do was PRK is better option for his eyes but never a why. Due to his job and needing to return to work the next monday he wanted Lasik but at last minute chose the prk because again they kept telling us they would do either but prk is better and we finally were told a safer bet especially if he needed correction down the road. Basically we were given the option but ultimately we knew that prk could be corrected later if needed and lasik couldn't due to his eyes. I hope that they do continue to improve because the amount of time and money spent in a short period and then to go back to his 1 week consult and find his vision is worse that before the procedure is extremely discouraging and he keeps calling for help and answers and they just ignore him and don't care. Their packet could give more detailed info on what to expect and more. Yeah the doctor called to check in but that was said and done and I'm worried my husband is blind and I just wasted 4000 plus dollars. read more

The front desk staff was friendly. That is the only nice thing I have to say. I had a very infected chalasion, and Dr. Davis was the only ophthalmologist that could get me in same day. I told him that I had seen my PCP about this bump on my eyelid that had been there for at least 5 years. It had never really bothered me before, but must have been getting bigger because within the last month 3 different people had asked what it was. It had started to get a little sore, and swollen, so I went to my PCP, who told me it looked like a chalasion, and suggested I go see an ophthalmologist. By the end of the next day my eyelid was swollen shut, but it was too late to make an appointment. The next morning I started calling around. All of the ophthalmologists I called could only get me in 5 days later, except for Dr. Davis. We went in that same afternoon, hopeful I could get some relief. Even after telling Dr. Davis all of this, he only looked at the edge of my eyelid, and told me it was a sty. He wasn't friendly, or engaging. Most of the time he just looked at his monitor, with occasional glances at me. My husband and young son were with me, and didn't even get acknowledged. As I was about to leave, Dr. Davis asked me to look down, and said I had quite a knot in the middle if my swollen lid. I said that was the bump I had been talking about. He dismissed it, gave me some oral antibiotics, and some topical antibiotic cream, which he didn't tell me how I should use. The cream is for cuts, which I didn't have. I called my PCP, feeling very frustrated. He told me he was so sorry I didn't get helped, and told me to come in any time the next day, and he wouldn't charge me for it. That night my swelling got worse, which I didn't think was possible. I started getting really worried that my eye would get damaged from all the pressure. My husband took me to our PCP the next afternoon, when he could get done with work. Our PCP looked at my eye, and said the chalasion really needed to be drained. Their office was closing, but he stayed an hour later to get me taken care of. Within 2 hours of getting it drained my eyelid was bruised, but the swelling had gone down significantly, and the pain was mostly gone as well. read more

Just had LASIK done with Dr. Davis and I was very impressed. He's professional and helpful, as is the staff. He does all of the procedures himself, so unlike some of the other "big names" in LASIK, you're not going to his son or his assistant. There's just Dr. Davis who has personally performed more than 25,000 LASIK procedures. Let's be honest, the actual eye resurfacing is done by a computer anyway, it's just about how well you can cut/peel back a cornea, and from my personal experience, Dr. Davis did very well. What was the procedure like? You take a Valium (get a little buzz...) and then they mess around with your eyes, cut a flap in the cornea, peel back the flap, and then the computer takes over as you hear some sounds like a bug zapper and your eye is resurfaced. I had my surgery on a Friday morning and Saturday evening I was mountain biking. I thought I would be out of commission for a week, but I was ready to go the next morning. I still have a little dryness, but the wetting drops takes care of that. I don't think I would necessarily recommend Davis Vision as a regular Optometrist, just as I wouldn't recommend Standard Optical for LASIK. However, they were exactly what I was looking for in LASIK: experienced, affordable (not the cheapest & not the most expensive), and very focused on LASIK. Finally, I agree with the other reviewer... if you're looking for an Ophtalmologist who will drain a cyst you insist is a "chalazion" (use spell checker) perhaps you should consider another Doctor. read more

You know I called these guys out on a whim because they were the first places to show up on my intrawebs list of eye care centers to visit. First of all I spoke to the Doctor that runs the place. He just sounded way to nice. Like a dirty used car salesman speaking to unsuspecting customers kind of way. They were able to see me on my lunch break and despite my harsh judgements the Doctor really was a cool guy. Like he genuinely cares about the welfare of my vision. The staff there was professional and they were able to handle my insurance information and it made this eye exam/contact lens purchasing process the easiest experience I had. They deserve 6 stars. I made an appointment for LASIK and they never sent me a confirmation email after I had asked for one. Then when I called on the day of my consultation Robin(staff) said they don't call people and remind them of their appointment because secretly they want people to not show up, because they're too busy. Great customer service "NOT" they just see people as a number and not really care for their health. Why would anyone want to go to a place that wishes you didn't show up??? I can't say enough about what an amazing experience I had at the Davis Vision Center. From my first appointment I felt comfortable and welcomed by the entire staff and Dr. Davis. I just had Lasik done yesterday and by my follow up appointment this morning I was already seeing 20/20. This is life changing already. I had astigmatism in both eyes and I'm blown away how quickly my vision improved. I wasn't very vocal about having the surgery unless it was to my close family and colleagues but the morning I got to the office I posted on my Instagram story that I was getting Lasik and posted a pic of the office. It was crazy to see how many of my friends out there responded that they had Lasik done by Dr Davis too and they all loved their experience as well. I just had PRK at Davis Vision. All the staff are knowledgeable and helpful. They makureyou are comfortable and they even remember your name when you come in. I ha lot of questions, and every time I called they were able to help and remembered who I was and my situation. Dr Davis is very professional, and explains all the risks/benefits of the procedure. Dr Hepworth is very personable, easy to talk to, and also can answer your questions. I went with Davis Vision because I wanted a place whose physician had an excellent track record (Dr Davis has done over 27,000 procedures) at an excellent price. I wasn't disappointed. I got all of that plus the feel of a small practice where everyone knows you and cares about you. I'm so glad I chose Davis vision over other well known places in Utah.
