They are awesome at figuring out all the nitty-gritty insurance details so I can just get my glass/contacts/whatever and go. It's a small office with a nice homey and small office feel. They have a couple of doctors and I've seen them both. The service both doctors provide is outstanding and they work closely with each other so I've never felt the need to specify one over the other. Both doctors as well as the staff is always extremely patient and willing to spend time with you answering any questions you have. They are personable, friendly, and even when the office has had a number of other patients, they are always friendly and take the time to help each person while going out of their way to make those waiting comfortable. Even through I've seen the staff hopping and moving fast at times, I've never felt rushed and I've never seen any of the staff push or rush a patient. Draper Vision is truly a great place to go for your vision!

So put out to have clients that she leaves the door closed and glares or rolls eyes if you open it. Today was the worst though. She belittled us for scheduling an appointment without knowing that they don't partner with our insurance, when I actually had! And I've used it there multiple times, same network, same plan. Tried to charge us a cancellation fee for wasting her time. Before booking, I knew they were separate from Costco and I used their own website to confirm insurance, co-pays and all. This girl refused us and was completely wrong and so rude! Later when I yelled at the manager about her behavior he was defensive until he looked it up and confirmed that our date of birth and plan matched their own system and previous records to see we were correct and he apologized for her behavior. But this is beyond ridiculous to be treated the way she does every time. I'm stupid for returning hoping it would be a different person, but not anymore. He has lost our business and that of many other people by the looks of it just because of her behavior and lack of attempt to even look into the one single insurance they partner with to see we were covered there.

The downside is there are sooo many frames I found myself getting overwhelmed. After awhile they were looking all the same. Hence the reason I was there. I switched insurance companies at the beginning of the year, and my regular eye Dr wasn't on the list so I decided to check out ShopKo Optical. As soon as I entered the door, I was greeted by smiling faces. I was checked in within less than five minutes. Wow that's what I call service and with a smile no less. The new experience with the Dr went really smooth, and he answered all my questions. I only had a slight change in my eyes so I was happy about that. Glasses take about a week to make, so you will need to make another appointment to come back. On the return appointment I was in and out within 20 minutes. They did say that I could bring in my own sunglass frames and they would replace the lenses with my prescription for just the cost of the lenses. Parking is a nightmare as they share the parking lot with the bar next door.

The best part about this place is the provider Dr Pierce! Every appointment I've ever had at an optometrist felt like I was at a "vision mill" where they just check your prescription and try to get you out of the clinic as fast as possible to see the next patient. Dr Pierce took the time to break down the results of all of my test results in depth; perhaps since I'm an aspiring PA he could tell my nerdy passion for anatomy and went in greater depth because he noticed I appreciated it, but even still that's just the sign of an excellent provider!
