I was initially helped by an optometrist for some preliminary screening before the doctor came in and she was great. Personable and kind. Then I met with Dr. Pingree who was able to diagnose the problem. He is very personable as well and easy on the eyes and I felt like I was well taken care of. Going back in 2 weeks for my clogged oil gland to be drained. It could have been a much worse problem. I really looked like hell.

He is kind and patient, treats his staff well (even if they failed to recognize his kind training queues ). He happens ta be rather funny as well. My children would be at home under his supervision. The blonde woman who first took care of me was amazing and the Hispanic(?) lady who helped me check out saved me by calling out before I could leave that I had forgotten my prescription paper I needed for my job. Did I ferget ta mention the front desk attendant was always smiling authentically and described the forms I had to provide for my first time visit with precision? The selection of eyewear looked like it'd be worth seeing and I plan to shop at this eye care center in the future because of the team working there.

So put out to have clients that she leaves the door closed and glares or rolls eyes if you open it. Today was the worst though. She belittled us for scheduling an appointment without knowing that they don't partner with our insurance, when I actually had! And I've used it there multiple times, same network, same plan. Tried to charge us a cancellation fee for wasting her time. Before booking, I knew they were separate from Costco and I used their own website to confirm insurance, co-pays and all. This girl refused us and was completely wrong and so rude! Later when I yelled at the manager about her behavior he was defensive until he looked it up and confirmed that our date of birth and plan matched their own system and previous records to see we were correct and he apologized for her behavior. But this is beyond ridiculous to be treated the way she does every time. I'm stupid for returning hoping it would be a different person, but not anymore. He has lost our business and that of many other people by the looks of it just because of her behavior and lack of attempt to even look into the one single insurance they partner with to see we were covered there.

No wonder why no one has claimed this business, it's HORRIBLE! I made my appointment, arrive and from check-in to payment, a total of 15 minutes. My prescription was completely wrong. I reached out several times with no response. Stay away from this lazy person, unless you want to end up getting another eye exam and replace the lenses with the ACTUAL prescription. Because that's what I ended up doing. Such a waste of time. I don't know how or why Costco hasn't replaced this independent contractor with an actual productive optometrist.

Everyone there makes you feel so at ease. Dr. Passi is awesome. You can tell he has the experience, knowledge to get what needs to happen done and forethought of everything you may ask, answered. One of my favorite things about Dr. Passi was his complete honesty, just enough fluff to make you comfortable but at the same time, made sure you understand what's going to happen, what needs to happen afterwards and realistically what to expect after treatment and that's ultimately what he's logically there for. The expertise in this area, and he more than knows his craft. Last night oof, he was right, I was wrecked but after following directions of medicated eye drops every 2 hours and wear the covers with the correct amount of ibuprofen- Tylenol ratio, I was totally fine this morning (I took melatonin too because it never hurts to want to not wake up constantly) I'm sure Hoopes is great BUT I also would say there's definitely not just a single place to go and don't rule this place out. During my exam, I could hear the doctors next door talking to their patient... but that was really the only criticism I had! They had so many machines I hadn't seen before and some traditional technology I'm used to. No need for dilation either! They spared no exam for my eye health. The cost was very reasonable! I get eye exams yearly and they went above and beyond most other places I have been. I don't have vision insurance by choice, and they happily gave me a lens prescription and measured my PD as well without giving me the run around. They also helped me with the possibility of contacts and even tried some on, which I just couldn't tolerate but haven't completely written off due to the amazing staff. The glasses here are pricy; However, you're paying for a service that other places wouldn't do for you. I would've gone to Costco or somewhere less expensive but the staff's amazing customer service is worth the extra cost. I had new piercings on my ear cartilage that were being snagged by my old glasses; Athena sat with me and found me some frames that would work with my piercings and I bought two pairs! I didn't even know the frame's legs mattered so much. She even went above and beyond and adjusted my existing pair and fixed and adjusted my old favorite pair that I bought elsewhere to be more comfortable while I waited for my pairs to come in. She took her time to help me and you can absolutely tell how much she loves what she does and is willing to help you however you need it. She requested a rush for me as well for free and I really appreciate the willingness to help! The staff is gold and they joke around and appear happy to be there so I'm recommending everyone to this place!
