I was initially helped by an optometrist for some preliminary screening before the doctor came in and she was great. Personable and kind. Then I met with Dr. Pingree who was able to diagnose the problem. He is very personable as well and easy on the eyes and I felt like I was well taken care of. He is kind and patient, treats his staff well (even if they failed to recognize his kind training queues ). He happens ta be rather funny as well. My children would be at home under his supervision. The blonde woman who first took care of me was amazing and the Hispanic(?) lady who helped me check out saved me by calling out before I could leave that I had forgotten my prescription paper I needed for my job. Did I ferget ta mention the front desk attendant was always smiling authentically and described the forms I had to provide for my first time visit with precision? The selection of eyewear looked like it'd be worth seeing and I plan to shop at this eye care center in the future because of the team working there.

I have some past trauma involving my eyes, so visiting the eye doctor is always very difficult for me. Despite my anxiety, inability to go through all of the regular parts of an eye exam, and sometimes tears, Dr Smith is always extremely kind, understanding, and patient. I accidentally went to the wrong clinic a few months back and ended up leaving due to a panic attack, which could have been prevented if the doctor had been as attentive as Dr Smith and all of her staff are. As weird as it sounds, I just can't express how grateful I am to actually feel comfortable going to the eye doctor. I am so lucky to have found Dr Smith!

The children also get a token to use at the end of their appointment. The staff is extremly nice and helpful. They were a little annoyed when I asked them for a copy of my childs pictures, but they did it. The two doctors I have met are friendly and nice. Great bedside manners. I didn't rate them higher because when I left the office my child's eyes were dilated, and they didn't give me anthing to cover his eyes. By the time I realized that he needed something we were driving down the road and my son was complaining on how bright it was. That kinda bugged me, and I think they could have been aware that I would need something for him. Also, I find that if they will send YOU the bill and not send it to your insurance. I found that when it is sent to your insurance they have allowable charges, which is a lot less than the original bill. I think that most people just pay the bill, and the doctor makes more money. Make sure you check your bills, and make sure if you have insurance that you have them send it through your insurer first.

Well, we stopped and were so happy we did! Their selection of frames is almost as good as their caring and family oriented service! We found very quickly that we were and ARE much much more than simply a patient, and that Kristine treats us much more like family. And, similar to any family, everyone is different, has "good days" and "bad days" and Kristine has been SUPER accommodating and understanding. With everything going on in our society and the COVID protocols, she took the time to text my wife many times. Where we still had concerns, she personally called and spoke with my wife and to come to a mutually agreeable solution. WOW! This is unfortunately so I heard of in today's world and Hidden Valley deserves a chance to show you how different they are!
