He showed up on time and completed the work in a timely manner. The first job required that he move wiring from two existing fixtures (one wall-mount and the other ceiling-mount) to three new ceiling-mount fixtures. He also repaired switches for four different fixtures that had been installed incorrectly by the previous owner of the house. His second visit was far less expensive than what other electricians quoted and he was again on time and quick with the work. When the jobs were done, he even vacuumed in the areas where he worked. It wasn't necessary--but he went above and beyond. If and when I ever need electrical work done again, I will contact Russ first!

We had a home inspection done before contacting Nick's and knew these were the only issues. When the tech said there would be a $350 diagnostic fee, he even skipped a beat before adding 'per outlet.' I waited some time before posting this review, hoping to reexamine and think about what happened, but I know what happened. When I told the tech 'no', none of that would be happening, he said he would write it all up anyway, and send it. Nothing was ever sent. I stand by my review. Let me say that Papa Nick's was extremely responsive and did come out quickly. We needed a few loose outlets and a GFI replaced. Without yet checking any outlets, the technician immediately told me that our outlets actually all needed to be replaced but to just replace the ones we wanted there would be a $350. diagnostic charge PER OUTLET, but that the entire house should be rewired. That was going to be at the bargain price of $14,000. (Our house is only 20 years old, so there should be no need to rewire the entire house.) I told the tech over and over we were not going to rewire the whole house, but he kept it up. I asked if we could just do the work we wanted. 'Well, yes, but... ' We found another licensed electrician who came out and performed the work we needed done. $240. I hope I am wrong in thinking that I was being taken advantage of, but something just didn't add up.

Quickly came to the conclusion that I'd need a reliable setup to charge at home and I created a Yelp project to get some bids. We discussed PSE rebates (yes they are an approved PSE contractor!) and they were able to get me on the schedule right away.
