Installation went well, but created leaking condensate water on the floor. I asked for a warranty repair this summer but heard nothing for a couple weeks. Finally called and got it scheduled and completed. On other occasions I have inquired via email and they have and continue to be non responsive. Sales agent was dismissive of a concern I raised about unit freezing up last winter. Finally, upon heating system installation completion they ask you to sign a standard maintenance agreement but all it essentially says is "here are our prices if you need a service call, and by the way, prices are subject to change." There is no customer benefit unless you negotiate one. read more

After 2 visits and waiting for 2 months, I still have a heat pump that needs to be serviced, so am going with another company. They don't return calls or follow up when the technician says the office person will call or email me later that day. They also don't communicate important information with their technicians, including not giving pictures taken by the first person to the second person who came to my house. read more

These guys recently installed a tankless water heater in my home. I will do a pro/con review. Here's the pro's: --Their bid beat Home Depot --Chris was very professional, and wore a mask --Chris was very knowledgeable about tankless water heaters --They completed the install quickly when they got here. --They are recommended by PSE to install tankless water heaters. Here's the cons: --They only install Navien Tankless Water heaters --They took about a month to actually get to my home to set up the water heater. (Mine was old, but still working). --They left a bolt untightened when they left. It caused gas to leak. I had to call PSE out to tighten the bolt and stop the leak. read more

My last post about Narrows Heating & AC in 2014 was very positive, years later I needed to call for service again. My old AC unit finally gave up after years of keeping up with a full-on western exposure. With the age of my equipment, I made the decision to replace my heating and cooling system. When Chris came to give an estimate, I was impressed that he focused on matching the new system to the size of my house. There was no pressure to buy something bigger or better. I purchased three installed (ductless heating and a.c.) systems from NARROWS HEATING AND A.C. last feb. 2018 This was a mistake. The installation took two days and was very well done. Since then it has been a night mare the techs. they sent did not know how to program the system and what they did was incorrect. The people I consulted with in the office would not take a complaint the techs. they sent would not leave a report of their activity so I started contacting Mitsubishi Tech. Support, it took all of three five minute tele. conversations to have the systems running the way they were dessighnned. We had our 30 year old furnace replaced, also added an AC unit. We got three separate bids, they were all very close in price. We went with the Narrows because our neighbor used them for an HVAC replacement as well. It was reassuring to able to see their work prior to our install. Chris and the whole team were a pleasure to work with, answered my numerous questions. They did a very nice job with the install, and left my garage and side yard spotless. Note that it did take a few weeks to get all the equipment, due to supply shortages. If you are on the fence about replacement, I would do it sooner rather than later, and not wait until the next extreme weather event. read more

This spring (2021) we decided to update our heating system, and add air conditioning to our house. We met with 6 contractors over a 3 week period, and eventually decided to install a heat pump with ductless mini splits. Chris from Narrows Heating and AC was the last to interview, and we were glad we waited. His estimate not only was the lowest, but it included top of the line Mitsubishi equipment. He took care of all permits and all paper work related to the rebates that were available. I was delighted that the installation went as smoothly as our meetings with Chris. We had some performance issues with out heat pump/furnace. Theodore came to diagnose the problem and found that we needed a new motor and blade. When I called to schedule the repair, Gretchen said she would work with the supplier to see if it could be covered under warranty. We had no idea that it was even close to the warranty period. She was able to make that work for us, saving us about a thousand dollars. Theodore did the work very timely and professional. Install and turn up was really professional and efficient, great team of installers and technicians. However follow up service is terrible. They allow a disgruntled employee at the service desk to decide who gets service or not. I had a misunderstanding re invoice and got a repair done locally in Auburn and now Narrows refused my next service call request as I still wanted to do business with Narrows. Also suggested I go elsewhere, and hung up in my face, not really good for their business but it's their call. read more

From the start up to the installation, I would have given them a Excellent rating. The electrician, who could not read the breaker log on the electric panel, lowered the score from a 5 to a 2.1. The electrician also seriously soiled two of my walls, reset my timer without letting me know, and rather than flush mount the outlet, the atrocity he installed on the wall protrudes about 9 inches. The inspector confirmed that the electrician just didn't want to take the time to do a quality job, not to mention he pocketed my LED flashlight. I notified the sales person and he failed to get back to me in a day. I now lower their score to about 1.6. Also, when you realize you've accidentally walked off with someone's property, wouldn't you return it in at least a week? read more

We contacted four different HVAC contractors to evaluate an electric furnace (which was very loud) in a house we recently purchased and to make recommendations for repair or replacement. Each of the three contractors who preceded Narrows Heating & AC said that the electric furnace was too big for the space and that it should be replaced with a heat pump or ductless system. When Chris Calhoun from Narrows came out he said that he would recommend against such an expenditure at this time; that the furnace is only five years old and all that needs to be done to address the sound is to increase the size of the ductwork from 4" to 6" ducts - he even explained how I could do this myself. Needless to say, Chris saved us thousands of dollars. When I thanked him for his honesty he said that Narrows is a small family business and is about building relationships; that he could not in good conscience recommend that we change our current system when what we have is perfectly fine. Although we did not use Narrows this time we will certainly turn to the company in the future and recommend to friends. I was incredibly impressed by Chris' knowledge and honesty. I wish more companies would follow Narrow's lead. read more

This is not a good review or a good look for them..... We purchased a house/closed 10/27/17 and found out in 1 day the heating system was in adequate and under sized...all wrong. On 11/8/17 Narrows came out and looked at the house along with 4 other companys for bids. We received the bid on 11/13/17, We chose Narrows...They let us know after we accepted and went thru the whole process that is wasnt going to be till December 18th-23rd install that they could come out...THATS 34 DAYS to wait...we have no heat and its 40 degrees in the house.....So on December 9th Satuday, 9 days before installation, we get an email that they were cancelling us due to everyone wanting to take a vaca......I was pissed beyond belief called him screaming are u kidding me..then he told Steve that they just landed a commercial contract in Seattle..so which is it??...meanwhile we are at almost 2 months with no heat and have to start the process all over as our bids now are void and our house is 3200 square feet and 115 feet long..What a bunch of schmucks....DONT DO IT PEOPLE........ read more

Narrows installed our new Mitsubishi mini split heat pump just in time for the hot weather this summer at our weekend home in Vaughn. Chris was super accommodating and fit us in early because of a cancellation. The installers were also very accommodating and happily satisfied our specific requests. They did an excellent job on the installation and left the area spotless. In addition, their quote was considerably less than the two other quotes I got. Too early to tell about reliability but I went with Mitsubishi because they have the best reviews so time will tell. read more

We chose Narrows to install a Trane furnace and heat pump in our 2600 sf home. Their bid was one of 3 that were all very close. The other 2 wanted to put the heat pump unit where our old broken one had been - which would have made a lot of noise outside our bedroom windows. The Narrows rep thought it through and proposed installing it on the opposite side of the house. Next, at my request they professionally cleaned our air ducts to get rid of construction dust from our remodel. Their installers were highly professional, then another professional spent time giving me a walk-through, explaining how to operate the system and do customer-level cleaning of the electronic thermostat and air purification features. We have been completely happy in the 5 years since Narrows installed our system. Service calls for regular maintenance have been handled promptly and economically. What I like about Narrows is that they are big enough to have a depth of personnel but not so big that you get lost in the throngs responding to radio ads. I will never look anywhere else. read more

Called and spoke to a woman that answered the phone. The tone in her voice told me she was not interested in my business. I felt like I was bothering her just by calling. I made the appointment anyway, I had no heat. They arrived late, they did get my heat on. I told the repair guy " the woman who answers your business's phone is most likely driving business away" He told me she was the owner and he's hear that complaint before. So I will take all future business elsewhere then. read more
