Had lunch here a couple of times with a colleague. Their menu is extensive and the food is pretty good. On our most recent visit, we had the Bacon Avocado Omelette and the Blueberry Pancakes. The omelette was well prepared. The Pancakes scored well for presentation and volume - but were a bit on the bland side. Service was reasonably quick. read more

Joined my sweet aunt for a brunch in Willow Glen & almost missed this treat! STACKS has a menu for gluten-free (GF) folks. What?! My auntie is the happiest woman on the planet. She no longer has to ask a million questions or worry that food might be unsafe. The GF menu is HUGE - almost the exact same size as the regular menu and there's no reason to 'skip the bun' because the bun is GF. Next question... does it taste good? Of course! Price is really fair for the large portions, too. Auntie had a burger with bun + sweet potato fries. That means the fry vat is safe, too!! We'll return. I had the crab omelet with plenty of GF items - not really, but I ordered from the regular menu. I can't have soy. I was feeling a little yuck afterwards, so something had soy on my plate. It's okay. I'll use more care next time I order. BTW... that omelet with fruit & potatoes was DELISH. Al fresco seating, if you desire. Clean bathrooms. Large dining room. Great service. Order coffee & you get the dang pot to yourself! Refills of water & sodas are easy to get because service is very good. Lots of nearby parking & a great neighborhood for your post-nosh walk. Bon appetite! read more

The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is the parking, but the walk is worth it. The staff is super attentive and the food's delicious. Fairly priced for the quality of products they use. One of the few places that doesn't make me feel gross after eating. Also, coffee is so good! Vibes are very chill as well. Heads up- apple maps shows it's closed but they are open! read more

Delicious food and good service. Really impressed with the serves abilities to anticipate needs and ask great questions an additional while ordering and during check ins. The food is cooked well and seems to be good quality. The chicken sandwich was quite thin on the protein, but breakfast comes with a lot of additions. My egg was a little more cooked than I would've preferred based on the cook. Overall great option with really small things that could be altered to be 10/10. Def recommend getting the pancakes! Great outdoor seating and able to bring dogs. read more

Good food with great service. They've got so many great gluten free options--with an entire gluten free menu. We visited and they have a lovely outdoor space. It was so inviting and comfortable. I love their Campbell location, but this one has the benefit of having a covered outdoor space. read more

Tried Stack's new location in Willow Glen. The service was excellent and the restaurant was very clean and modern. I had the hot link, mushroom and onion skillet. This was a heavy breakfast. It tasted good at first, but as you kept eating it, the saltiness overpowered it. I don't think I will order this again, but I will definitely comeback to this restaurant to try different items. read more

I love brunch! First time at this location. Nice that there's a parking lot. There's street parking, too, if you get lucky on a busy day. Place is decent size with a nice patio. Within 5 minutes - we were seated at our table, had full glasses of water, and even placed our order! The hardest thing was deciding on what to order. I decided on French toast with fresh strawberries, bananas, whipped cream, and Nutella! Soooo good. I forgot to ask for Nutella on the side (not a huge fan) but it had just the right amount. Large serving, too. Nice saturation and still fluffy. The whipped cream was so yummy, didn't really need syrup at all. The syrup served warm was a nice treat. Hubby ordered a hot link omelet which he really liked. Came with a buttered bagel. His potatoes were a little over cooked but I liked them. And yes, I ate them off his plate. :D Can't wait to go back. They have mimosa flights that I want to try. Large breakfast menu so I'm also excited to try other items! Service was wonderful and very friendly. Overall great vibes at this place! Great location in Willow Glen. Family friendly, including fur babies. Go for a walk and browse the local businesses while you wait for your table, or after your awesome meal. read more

Stacks - Bring your appetite! French Toast with fresh strawberries, bananas, Nutella, and whipped cream!!! Yes, please! - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - San Jose, California

We visited Stacks in Willow Glen this morning and it was such a pleasant experience! I love how they're utilizing the space during morning hours--it's actually the same location as The Black Sheep brasserie restaurant, which operates exclusively in the evenings. Parking was surprisingly easy to find, and we enjoyed a quick walk through downtown Willow Glen to get there. What really stood out was how fast everything happened. We barely had time to settle in before our food arrived--it felt like the server turned around and immediately placed huge plates of breakfast in front of us. A short stack of pancakes for the table is a must! We kept it simple, with a plain stack which the family devoured in no time. My son ordered the pizza bagel, which had a nice little kick, and the fresh fruit on the side was a perfect balance for him! I'm eyeing the lemon ricotta raspberry pancakes for my next visit! Overall, Stacks is a solid breakfast option if you're looking for good food, quick service, and a cozy spot to start your day. Highly recommend! read more

We arrived on a Saturday morning around 10:30 and we got a table immediately. Ordered Lemon ricotta pancakes and Veggie breakfast burrito. We really enjoyed the burrito, it was hot, cheesy, and generous with the avocado. The lemon ricotta pancakes were alright, the felt a little dry since the raspberry sauce was on the side and not a large amount, and the ricotta was quite grainy. Quite a heavy meal, even with just a stack of 2! It was a cute standard brunch place, would go back to try other dishes. read more

Stacks is now in the South Bay, and I couldn't be happier! I've been eagerly waiting for this classic breakfast/brunch spot to open closer to home, in the Willow Glen neighborhood. For our meal, I ordered takeout--a crab omelet with a side of potatoes and a biscuit--while my mom got the Popeye's omelet with the same sides. Since this location just opened, I tried to be patient with the delays. However, when my mom initially called to place the order, no one answered, so she had to order online instead. When I arrived to pick up the food, it was busier outside than inside, with minimal staff at the front desk. After waiting a few minutes, I finally got our order. The service could use some improvement, but it's understandable given that they just opened. The ambiance was pleasant--not too loud, with windows and doors open to the street--creating a typical modern breakfast/brunch, family-oriented dining atmosphere. As for the food, the crab omelet was surprisingly good, with real crab meat and a tasty, creamy cheese topping. The biscuit was fluffy, though it didn't come with any jams or butter. The hashbrowns were standard diner fare but still hit the spot. Having visited the Menlo Park location many times, I'm excited to have them in San Jose, and I'll definitely be back to try more of their breakfast favorites! read more

This was a cute little trendy place. We were greeted by a friendly as soon as we walked in and was sat right away. I love that they leave the coffee carafe at the table. My quest for the perfect corned beef hash is still on going, so that's what I ordered. It wasn't great (my husband chided me "what do you expect from a place called Stacks?") but it was passable. Overall good food experience and we will definitely try this place again. And I will try the crepes. read more

8/10: Stacks made it easy.... Greeted and seated quickly (outside), sold menu options, friendly and attentive staff. Food was solid (Omelette & a French Toast) prepared well with more than enough food for brunch. It's crazy how easy they made vs the location we just left without ordering from. While we've been to the downtown Campbell location many times this new WG location is nice and we'll eat here again (and bring friends). Again, this was easy like slotting in a left footer into the side net - easy! read more

Tried Stacks in Willow Glen for the first time today. Had the chicken apple sausage omelette, potatoes, toast, and apple juice. The omelette was bland. A little more salt and some pepper probably would have helped. The potatoes had some burned pieces, but that might have been intentional. Toast was good. Apple juice was super good. read more

My wife has recently discovered she has celiac disease, meaning she can't have gluten/wheat. Our family has been trying to figure this thing out. Often, the question we ask at a restaurant about whether or not there are gluten free options or if cross contamination can be avoided leaves people dumbfounded or confused. But Stacks was on it, and made sure they kept everything separate and only allowing the chef and server touched the dish. They even had a gluten free menu. Our server José and one of the owners, Lawton were super knowledgeable and supportive. Stacks for normies is great. Even better for those trying to avoid gluten. read more

I've tried Stacks at the Campbell location so I was excited to see another open in Willow Glen. The patio is spacious enough to have multiple dogs on the patio. It's open so doesn't feel stuffy. The service and food were very prompt (low key mad at myself that I forgot to bring home my leftovers because I ordered the crepe last minute...). All the food was delicious and filling! I was surprised to learn I was able to order a single crepe, instead of the advertised two from their menu. I know the location just opened, but open to trying it in the future as they continue to establish themselves in the neighborhood. Great place for a traditional breakfast and plenty of food options like burgers and salads. read more

The food was bad, I ordered a basic breakfast... potatoes were not fresh, my eggs did not have even salt or pepper on them.. if you can't get a basic breakfast perfected what is the point of a breakfast place. The server did not come by again after she dropped out food off. I had to get up three times for napkins, a box and to ask for waters. Overall terrible experience and a waste of 50$ Find a different place to get breakfast! read more

Appreciate that there is a dedicated gluten free menu and plant based menu, unsure if celiac friendly though. For once I felt like I could order anything from a menu! In the future, I would opt to sit outside or the area close to the patio where it's brighter with better ventilation. As you get inside, it just feels unlit and stuffy. Food was fine, felt like diner-esque vibes. There is fresh orange and grapefruit juice. Service was okay. Food took awhile but that seems to be the case at brunch places on weekends nowadays. I ordered a BACON SCRAMBLE without onions with potatoes, but the server didn't mention that the potatoes come with onions...then I got corn tortillas (you get two) on the side...or you can choose "Sliced Tomatoes, Fruit Cup, Cottage Cheese" as well. I don't feel inclined to come back anytime soon, but maybe in the far future. read more

My family and I love Stacks in Campbell and super excited to learn that they took over this space for breakfast in Willow Glen! It makes perfect sense as Black Sheep Brasserie is usually only open for dinner service. This downtown area has a lot of eateries, especially breakfast spots but knowing the quality from a different location, we recently tried and visited. We went on a Saturday at noon, couple weeks ago. We got seated right away (3 adults, 1 kid and 1 high chair toddler). They provided the necessary coloring sheets for the kids and they shared crayons. Their menu is massive! With tons of offerings and caters to different dietary needs. Although, we ordered our usuals: Classic Eggs Benedict Eggs Louie Benedict All Meat Omelette Kids Mickey Pancake - always a hit with the kiddos! Kids Scrambled Eggs with the 2 slices of bacon and toast Orange juice Mimosa Their hashbrowns are just my absolute favorite. The way they shred it and saute with onions (I don't even like onions!!!) and mix with the buttery hollandaise - YUM. We thoroughly enjoyed the service - the mimosa refills came when needed, our server made sure the kids' foods came first and always so nice to chat with them. We will definitely be back and hoping we find it in our stomachs to get crepes this time around. read more

We were seated pretty quickly on the patio, welcomed and served beverages promptly. Order placed after that. So far so good, but we waited what seemed like a long time for the food to arrive...it was their Farmer's Breakfast , which we have enjoyed in the past. Today the pancakes were very dry and tasteless, the bacon very lackluster, and the fruit had seen better days. The eggs were fine. Noone came back to check on us, and my husband had to go inside to pay the bill as we had waited awhile for the check to arrive at the table. Staff was friendly overall, just not attentive. There are a few options for breakfast in the downtown area of WG, so we will likely go to those locations istead of returning to Stacks. read more

Hands down the best Micheladas I've ever had--perfectly balanced, refreshing, and full of flavor. They got the spice, tang, and kick just right. And the salad? Honestly one of the freshest and tastiest I've had in a long time. Every bite was crisp, full of flavor, and put together with real care. You can tell they take pride in their food and drinks. Definitely a spot I'll keep coming back to! On top of that, our waiter Dennis made the whole experience even better with his amazing service--friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Thank you, Dennis, for making our lunch extra special.. And last but not least big shout out to Jose we will most definitely come back all the way from Stockton the atmosphere was amazing read more

The food needs improvement! The staff is super friendly, and the ambiance is nice, but the food is overcooked and underseasoned. We were the first ones in for breakfast. They give you a whole pot of coffee for the table. Alas, ours was stone cold. The explanation was that the burner was off but they quickly replaced it with a hot pot and 2 extra eggs for hubbys corned beef and hash. Good proportions and I liked the hash brown potatoes. I got the breakfast sandwich on an English muffin. Good portion of scrambled eggs and bacon. Overall, a great first visit. read more

First timers at this place! We walked in and we were greeted and seated right away (party of 5). Our server was really nice and attentive. The food was great. I had the Famers Breakfast, my husband had the Chicken Fried Steak. I tried both, they were both delicious. The boys had a pull pork sandwich and Chicken and Waffles, they both rated it a 5/5. The manager, Lawton brought our food out, which we thought was pretty cool. He was very friendly and we saw him interact with other customers as well. It made the visit pleasant and welcoming. We will definitely come back and recommend it to friends/family. This is a place you could visit with friends or bring the family for a nice breakfast. read more

We loved our rainy morning breakfast inside the festive atmosphere at WG Stacks. We were seated immediately and offered coffee. Our server was friendly and greeted us immediately with menus and our drink order. My husband had the huevos rancheros which was a generous portion of delicious beans, cheese, tortillas and chicken apple sausage. Yes - they were able sub chicken for the chorizo! It came with a side of potatoes that were "shaved" and browned to perfection. Been going to Stacks for 15+ years and food here is comparable and raises the bar for breakfast places in Willow Glen. Great patio and overall comfortable ambiance. So I'll cut right to the chase -- this place charges an extra $2.50 for maple syrup?! How are you supposed to eat waffle or pancakes without syrup? I could understand if this was an upgrade for premium syrup, but there wasn't any other syrup on our table. My wife really loves waffle for breakfast, so we'll probably never come back... Anyway, I actually really enjoyed the Eggs Florentine. I think my wife liked the All Meat Omelet, but she was annoyed that it contained tomatoes and mushrooms -- I guess they meant it had all of the meats, not that it was only meat. The side of toast was pretty sad though. Oh, the potatoes were pretty good here. They are thinly sliced and some of the pieces had a good crispy texture too. I usually pass on potatoes but I couldn't resist! read more

Bacon avocado omelette. This is the best omelette I have ever eaten, hands down. It's a large omelette and I finished 98% of it which is unheard of. Throughout the meal I kept wishing I wouldn't get full, so I could continue eating and enjoying it. There is a solid amount of bacon and avocado inside, with the perfect amount of cheese melted in and sour cream on top. The salsa on the side really brought it all together, along with the hash-browns that were perfectly cooked -- crisp and tender in one. It also came with a bagel that I haven't gotten to yet, but this meal is a dream. read more

I took my wife to breakfast here and noticed how crowded the parking lot was even though hardly anyone was in the restaurant, very inconvenient . I always order eggs Benedict when trying out a new restaurant and mine was NOT VERY GOOD. first serving muffin was burnt and eggs were hard boiled not poached and there was not hint of lemon in the hollandaise. In addition my potatoes were cold. My wife's toast was not even toasted!. When my 2nd plate arrived after showing these issues to manager, eggs were poached but placed on a raw , not toasted English muffin, potatoes still cold and sauce not made in the traditional way. Spider webs were in abundance in the ceiling above us in the outside patio. Suffice it to say I WILL not be going back there again. read more
