Hot Links, Mushrooms and Onion Skillet
    John L.

Tried Stack's new location in Willow Glen. The service was excellent and the restaurant was very clean and modern. I had the hot link, mushroom and onion skillet. This was a heavy breakfast. It tasted good at first, but as you kept eating it, the saltiness overpowered it. I don't think I will order this again, but I will definitely comeback to this restaurant to try different items.

Lovely breakfast on Labor Day. You can't find a table on a Sunday especially if you go during brunch. We went around 10 and could easily find a table. Friendly staff and a relaxing breakfast. If you can find a table outside on a good day it's time well spent during breakfast.

I love brunch! First time at this location. Nice that there's a parking lot. There's street parking, too, if you get lucky on a busy day. Place is decent size with a nice patio. Within 5 minutes - we were seated at our table, had full glasses of water, and even placed our order! The hardest thing was deciding on what to order. I decided on French toast with fresh strawberries, bananas, whipped cream, and Nutella! Soooo good. I forgot to ask for Nutella on the side (not a huge fan) but it had just the right amount. Large serving, too. Nice saturation and still fluffy. The whipped cream was so yummy, didn't really need syrup at all. The syrup served warm was a nice treat. Hubby ordered a hot link omelet which he really liked. Came with a buttered bagel. His potatoes were a little over cooked but I liked them. And yes, I ate them off his plate. :D Can't wait to go back. They have mimosa flights that I want to try. Large breakfast menu so I'm also excited to try other items! Service was wonderful and very friendly. Overall great vibes at this place! Great location in Willow Glen. Family friendly, including fur babies. Go for a walk and browse the local businesses while you wait for your table, or after your awesome meal.

We visited Stacks in Willow Glen this morning and it was such a pleasant experience! I love how they're utilizing the space during morning hours--it's actually the same location as The Black Sheep brasserie restaurant, which operates exclusively in the evenings. Parking was surprisingly easy to find, and we enjoyed a quick walk through downtown Willow Glen to get there. What really stood out was how fast everything happened. We barely had time to settle in before our food arrived--it felt like the server turned around and immediately placed huge plates of breakfast in front of us. A short stack of pancakes for the table is a must! We kept it simple, with a plain stack which the family devoured in no time. My son ordered the pizza bagel, which had a nice little kick, and the fresh fruit on the side was a perfect balance for him! I'm eyeing the lemon ricotta raspberry pancakes for my next visit! Overall, Stacks is a solid breakfast option if you're looking for good food, quick service, and a cozy spot to start your day. Highly recommend!

TLDR : Good food, nice place in downtown for a fun brunch Tried Stacks for a weekend brunch and enjoyed thoroughly. The eggs and omelettes were great and lived the bloody Mary!

We arrived on a Saturday morning around 10:30 and we got a table immediately. Ordered Lemon ricotta pancakes and Veggie breakfast burrito. We really enjoyed the burrito, it was hot, cheesy, and generous with the avocado. The lemon ricotta pancakes were alright, the felt a little dry since the raspberry sauce was on the side and not a large amount, and the ricotta was quite grainy. Quite a heavy meal, even with just a stack of 2! It was a cute standard brunch place, would go back to try other dishes.

Stacks is now in the South Bay, and I couldn't be happier! I've been eagerly waiting for this classic breakfast/brunch spot to open closer to home, in the Willow Glen neighborhood. For our meal, I ordered takeout--a crab omelet with a side of potatoes and a biscuit--while my mom got the Popeye's omelet with the same sides. Since this location just opened, I tried to be patient with the delays. However, when my mom initially called to place the order, no one answered, so she had to order online instead. When I arrived to pick up the food, it was busier outside than inside, with minimal staff at the front desk. After waiting a few minutes, I finally got our order. The service could use some improvement, but it's understandable given that they just opened. The ambiance was pleasant--not too loud, with windows and doors open to the street--creating a typical modern breakfast/brunch, family-oriented dining atmosphere. As for the food, the crab omelet was surprisingly good, with real crab meat and a tasty, creamy cheese topping. The biscuit was fluffy, though it didn't come with any jams or butter. The hashbrowns were standard diner fare but still hit the spot. Having visited the Menlo Park location many times, I'm excited to have them in San Jose, and I'll definitely be back to try more of their breakfast favorites!

This was a cute little trendy place. We were greeted by a friendly as soon as we walked in and was sat right away. I love that they leave the coffee carafe at the table. My quest for the perfect corned beef hash is still on going, so that's what I ordered. It wasn't great (my husband chided me "what do you expect from a place called Stacks?") but it was passable. Overall good food experience and we will definitely try this place again. And I will try the crepes.

Tried Stacks in Willow Glen for the first time today. Had the chicken apple sausage omelette, potatoes, toast, and apple juice. The omelette was bland. A little more salt and some pepper probably would have helped. The potatoes had some burned pieces, but that might have been intentional. Toast was good. Apple juice was super good.

I've tried Stacks at the Campbell location so I was excited to see another open in Willow Glen. The patio is spacious enough to have multiple dogs on the patio. It's open so doesn't feel stuffy. The service and food were very prompt (low key mad at myself that I forgot to bring home my leftovers because I ordered the crepe last minute...). All the food was delicious and filling! I was surprised to learn I was able to order a single crepe, instead of the advertised two from their menu. I know the location just opened, but open to trying it in the future as they continue to establish themselves in the neighborhood. Great place for a traditional breakfast and plenty of food options like burgers and salads.

My family and I love Stacks in Campbell and super excited to learn that they took over this space for breakfast in Willow Glen! It makes perfect sense as Black Sheep Brasserie is usually only open for dinner service. This downtown area has a lot of eateries, especially breakfast spots but knowing the quality from a different location, we recently tried and visited. We went on a Saturday at noon, couple weeks ago. We got seated right away (3 adults, 1 kid and 1 high chair toddler). They provided the necessary coloring sheets for the kids and they shared crayons. Their menu is massive! With tons of offerings and caters to different dietary needs. Although, we ordered our usuals: Classic Eggs Benedict Eggs Louie Benedict All Meat Omelette Kids Mickey Pancake - always a hit with the kiddos! Kids Scrambled Eggs with the 2 slices of bacon and toast Orange juice Mimosa Their hashbrowns are just my absolute favorite. The way they shred it and saute with onions (I don't even like onions!!!) and mix with the buttery hollandaise - YUM. We thoroughly enjoyed the service - the mimosa refills came when needed, our server made sure the kids' foods came first and always so nice to chat with them. We will definitely be back and hoping we find it in our stomachs to get crepes this time around.

It is one of the pricier burger options around, but you can literally customize your burger to your hearts content (or other sandwich type). We have had their burgers, fries, onion rings, chicken tenders and a salad - kale quinoa. Quality of ingredients - really high, really delicious meat. Lettuce and ingredients in salad were fresh, and plentiful. Portion size - a large fry or a large onion ring feeds my whole family - when it says large, it is large.I did not trust the first time and ended up with WAY more fries than we needed. But fun fact - these reheat really well! Some do not, these are great the next day in the air fryer (same as onion rings) The only disappointing item for my son was the chicken tenders, they were very small and mostly breading. Kind of felt like we had the last remnants of a batch. Good flavor overall, just not a lot of chicken and overall this was the smallest portion size, even for a kid size. And we order from them all: Mojo, Habit, The Burger Lounge. I would rank the Stand higher than these others for quality, flavor and menu selection. But definitely at a higher price point. One thing to keep in mind - paying for McDonalds these days is close to paying for one of these higher-quality spots and I will pay more $$ any day of the week to ensure higher quality ingredients and choices.

It was the perfect spot to enjoy the fresh air and made for a really relaxing atmosphere. The restaurant has a great vibe overall, especially if you're looking for an outdoor brunch. (Have not been inside) I ordered the steak chilaquiles, and I'd give them a 8.5/10. The flavors were really good, the sauce was delicious, and I liked the addition of the eggs, avocado, and queso. My only complaint was the steak. I ordered it medium rare, but it came out medium well, a bit dry and was tougher than expected, making it difficult to cut. It was still tasty--just not cooked quite the way I was hoping. The mimosas were good too, a great value. Nothing that really stood out as amazing, but definitely nothing bad about them either--they got the job done. What really elevated the experience was the service. Our server Rebecca was attentive, knowledgeable, kind, and incredibly quick throughout the meal. They checked in at the right times, answered our questions confidently, and made us feel well taken care of without ever being overbearing. Overall, I'd come back, especially to sit on the patio again. With a more tender steak, this meal would've easily been an 8.5 or 9 out of 10!! :)

Rather than addressing what actually happened -- a customer being racially harassed on their premises -- management's response was to ban me, not the person who harassed me. If a business allows this kind of harassment to go unaddressed and then punishes the target of it for reacting, that's a real problem, not a minor service issue. This is the San Francisco Bay Area. Just never got around to working a review before. Went early on a Saturday evening recently and was surprised to not have to wait. We split a Bibb lettuce salad that was simple, refreshing and perfect. A tiny pea fritter was the very definition of a small bite, and while it wasn't what I expected, it was crisp and tender. Grilled artichoke was one of the best I have ever had. (Just wish they had been explicit on the menu that it was a half a grilled artichoke). Cocktails were up to their usual high standard -- rye Manhattan for the BF and clarified milk punch for me. I don't get out much these days and I rarely drink alcohol, but is $20 a lot for a cocktail? Or is that normal now? They were great though. BF got the ribeye with morels, which was perfectly cooked and unbelievably tender. I had the burger, which was more exciting than it sounds, dressed with a wild combo of veggies, cheese and bacon while still managing to be harmonious and fresh tasting. Side of fries were crisp and tasty, though not as perfectly hot as I would ideally wish. Because the burger was late coming out, or server (Bernardo I think?) comped us an amazing little dish of vanilla soft serve ice cream with olive oil and sea salt, along with the butterscotch pudding that we ordered. The pudding didn't have the strong butterscotch flavor that I hoped for, but the vanilla ice cream stole the dessert show. OCK isn't a place I can afford often, but I still really like it. I appreciate the creativity of the dishes, the quality ingredients, and the bar. And the old-school shopping center vibe of the Pruneyard is low key festive and garden-like. It took about 20-30 minutes for her to come back and take our food order after we placed our initial drink orders with her. Throughout the dinner, her demeanor felt very passive aggressive, and there were several moments where we felt like we were being given attitude despite everyone in our group being polite. My friend asked for extra olives with his martini and she responded with a rude "Really?" while making a face. It was such an unnecessary reaction to a totally simple and normal request. She also recommended that we order family style, which we followed, but the pacing between courses was extremely slow. We waited around 30+ minutes between our pasta and our protein entrees. For a restaurant that specifically recommends family style dining, the courses should be paced more appropriately so the table isn't sitting around waiting for the next round of food. The birthday cake situation was also frustrating. We had given our cake to the hostess when we arrived, but I guess our server was never notified of that. When I asked about a candle, she said she would bring it out with the birthday dessert, but brought out the restaurant's dessert instead. When she realized we had our own cake, she immediately took the bill back and said she needed to add the cake fee. The issue with that was we weren't asking them to cut or plate the cake. We just wanted to sing Happy Birthday, then have it boxed back up. She had assumed we wanted the cake service without actually asking us, and when we clarified, her response was, "Well, that's why I asked earlier," even though she hadn't actually asked us. None of us gave her a hard time or were anything but polite throughout the evening, which made the repeated attitude especially disappointing. The food wasn't terrible and the drinks were great, the restaurant itself has a nice atmosphere, but spending around $900, which included a 20% automatic gratuity, you'd expect the service to match the price point, even though service should always be good regardless. Unfortunately, the poor service really overshadowed what was supposed to be a nice birthday dinner for my friend and left all of us with a bad taste in our mouths.
