First they started to take X-rays and I asked them to confirm that this was covered by insurance since I thought I had recently had them taken. Very rude brunette hygienist acted annoyed, but asked front desk staff and confirmed these were covered by insurance and that I wouldn't be charged. A month later they sent me bill for over $100 for these X-rays. I explained I just wanted a cleaning, no extras, no flouride, etc. Again she acted annoyed and kept probing on why I didn't want the flouride treatment. Asked if it was too expensive, don't believe in it, etc. Huh? Since when do I need to explain my reason for wanting or not wanting a medical procedure to a hygienist? Then after taking extra X-rays she tells I need an extra procedure with anesthesia so they can do a deeper cleaning which of course will cost another couple hundred bucks AND I'll need to reschedule because they "don't have time to do it now"! She gave me an estimate for this extra procedure and added the fluoride treatment BACK IN! So she wasted my time, tried to aggressively upsell me like a used car salesman, overcharged me for X-rays I didn't need and still didn't clean my teeth! Patient beware, this office is totally rude and unprofessional and must be desperate for $ to push their staff to upsell like this.

You walk into a brand new waiting area that is large and white glove, spotless clean. I forgot to…read moredo the new patient paperwork before my appointment so I had to complete it in the waiting area. The front end staff is the nicest and friendliest group I've ever seen at a business in Saint Johns. Make sure you request an appointment with Dr. J. No, he didn't play in the ABA or NBA. His dental philosophy is the less drilling the better for your long term dental care. I had to have a crown put in where on had fallen out and was no where to be found. Dr. J. went above and beyond to make sure the temporary fit perfect. They also have state of the art equipment to find cavities under previous fillings and crowns to prevent possible very expensive root canals down the road. I've tried more than a few dentists in Saint Johns since moving here about 15 years ago and Dr. J at Beachside Family Dentistry is by far the best. Add in the friendly staff who many knew me by name the 2nd time I walked in the door one can't lose.

Let me begin by saying I'm someone who genuinely enjoys spreading joy, kindness, and positivity. I…read morelove highlighting great service and giving credit where it's due. It's rare for me to leave a negative review, but my experience with Crosswater Dental--specifically regarding cosmetic dental work--is something I feel strongly about sharing, both for my own peace of mind and to help others make informed decisions. I came to Crosswater Dental with a broken front tooth and was given two options: a crown or a veneer. I opted for the veneer. The first one looked okay initially, but I noticed a gap between my front teeth that hadn't been there before. At my next appointment, it became clear that the veneer had also turned gray. Dr. Chopra acknowledged both issues--the color and the gap--and apologized, saying she would go with a different vendor for the next veneer. The second veneer had an improved color match, but the gap remained. Additionally, my two front teeth were now so tight that I couldn't floss between them, and I began feeling a painful, pressure-like sensation. Dr. Chopra made some adjustments and believed the flossing issue was resolved. However, a few weeks later, I began experiencing headaches and constant discomfort in my front teeth. At my next visit, I was told I had an infection and was prescribed antibiotics. Unfortunately, to this day, the antibiotics have not resolved the pain or pressure. I still have discomfort, the gap is still there, and my front teeth remain too tight to floss between. The situation has left me not only physically uncomfortable but emotionally distressed as well. On March 26, 2025, I submitted a letter to the office, along with before-and-after photos of my smile. In that letter, I respectfully asked that, if cosmetic dental work wasn't within Dr. Chopra's specialty, I be refunded and referred to someone with the right expertise. That request went unanswered. I used to love my smile. It made me feel confident, and I cherished the compliments I received. Now I'm left with persistent discomfort, a visible gap that wasn't there before, and front teeth that are still so tight I can't floss between them. These ongoing issues make me feel self-conscious and disappointed. This isn't about the money--it's about having to live with something that doesn't feel like me anymore. While I can't speak to the other services offered at this practice, based on my experience, I would not recommend Crosswater Dental for cosmetic procedures. My hope is that the office takes this feedback seriously and considers referring cosmetic cases to specialists when appropriate.

The staff at the front desk is so super sweet I can't say enough about them. In saying all of that there are two main reasons I can't give them 5 stars. The first is over communication. When you book an appointment you get a text, about a week before you get a text to confirm, 3 more texts prior to your appointment, phone call confirming, messages, on and on and on. Its way too much. Unfortunately for me they somehow entered my daughters last two appointments twice (2 different back to back days) which meant I received 2 of all of the above and had to call multiple times to confirm which was the actual appointment so confusing. They never canceled or changed the incorrect appointment b/c apparently they could not see that in their system but the system continued to text me. I even received texts the morning and day of saying I was late. I called and they had no idea why as they didn't see anything in their system that showed we were supposed to be there. Very frustrating. The second reason is my teenager had to have a tooth pulled and she was nervous. She asked to go back with her and I said yes. When she was called back for her appointment I let the nurse know I was going back with her and she told me no. Ummm what? I wonder what they do when they have smaller children visit. I've never had a doctor say that I couldn't go back. I honestly thought it was the law that you be allowed to have someone at any and every doctor's appointment as you chose.

I have needed two root canals and had symptoms for another that Dr Currie diagnosed as something else. He was right and I did not need a root canal on that tooth. He and the whole staff at St. Johns Endodontics have been 100% kind, careful, caring and super competent! By far the best people I have ever had work in my mouth! I am 66 and retired after running a very large business that was focused on customer service across 2000 employees so I know what I'm talking about when I see great customer service like I've experienced with Dr Currie and St. Johns Endodontics!! And the building is beautiful inside with indirect lighting - great music - and wonderful art including some calming art on the monitors above your head while having a procedure done - first class all the way! I can't imagine going anywhere else for a consultation about a root canal

The woman I spoke with insisted that it is their protocol to have a new CT scan done in new x-rays. You've got to be kidding me! In what world is that necessary? These new CT scan machines are the cats meow to the company that designed them and sells them and the doctors that buy them pay a pretty penny for him so I'm sure they want to pay for them. But not on me thank you very much that increased risk and unnecessary need. I'm kind of glad it went that way because I disagreed with getting two more root canals and all the expense that was going to go into my mouth when it made more sense to do two extractions and one bone graph and implant for the same price of a bunch of nonsense that would've hurt me in the long run. Every tooth I have ever lost came from having a root canal that weakened the tooth and ultimately required it to be extracted. Root canals are bad for you. Avoid them at every cost. I worked 20 years in the Dental field, and it was quite a while ago, but root canals are still done the same way, the risks are still the same. A lot of them are unnecessary and that hasn't changed either. Good luck to all of you but look at more updated repairs to your mouth.
