Which is fantastic because I had not been into a store until this pharmacy for many months due to covid, and I am much more comfortable with delivery right now. Yet, there is something special about independent retailers -- and their particular emphasis on personalized service -- that Keystone Specialty Care Pharmacy has honed well. After a recent procedure, we had a prescription filled at Keystone because it was conveniently located inside the same medical building. Without belaboring the specifics, we needed an additional prescription filled that day, which would likely have conflicted with many national retail chains' "policies" on controlled substances. The pharmacist at Keystone not only understood the issue, but spent the time on the phone with our insurance provider to explain the need for an additional prescription, getting it approved without issue, and then delivering the medication to our home. We live more than 15 miles from the location. Neither the pharmacist nor store manager balked at the delivery request, insisting it was "all part of the job." I also note and appreciate it is a woman-owned, women-operated company. While we are happy with the local chain drugstore by our house, which has served us well, is conveniently located, and is reliable whenever we have a prescription needing to be filled, I would not hesitate to switch our medication needs to Keystone if ever we find ourselves in need of regular, consistent medication services. For people who regularly need prescriptions filled; take multiple medications requiring pharmacy intervention; appreciate "shopping local"; want to support women-owned businesses, or; all of the above, then Keystone fits the bill.
