Worst customer service I have ever received. Andy is dismissive, condescending and genuinely doesn't care about the customer. I have had countless issues over the last couple years with St. Charles Pool and Spa opening/closing my pool as well as no weekly maintenance. Very half ass job with the closing causing numerous issues opening in the spring. Pushed the opening back several times this past spring, and left with it pond green colored and told me to shock it. Pics are from day they opened to 4 days after and they refused to come back to get it right. Every time I call to get them to come back to fix their errors, Andy tells me 10 different excuses and ends up saying it is my fault. The only thing they're good at is racking up the chemical charges every week and billing the customer. Do yourself a favor, never use these clowns. It will end up costing you so much more in the end as they have no clue what they're doing and send incompetent people out to do the job causing $1000s in damage that they won't fix. read more

Honest, conscientious, thoughtful and very helpful staff!!!!!!! Hard to find any more!!! They actually came when they said they would & took care of my needs for the pool in a timely manor & I feel they treated me as they would have wanted to be treated themselves!!!!! Last season of our pool was rough with using a different company and I'm so glad we found St Charles Pool & Spa!! They closed our pool last season and opened it this year. They've helped with keeping the water balanced and we have never had a green pool this year thanks to them! Also very helpful with walking me through the steps of replacing a pool part instead of paying for the service of them coming out. I feel like they truly care about their customers. read more

In store service is fantastic. We are relative newbies as far as owning a pool. After having another company (who's name has something to do with Spring, Summer, Winter and Fall) install a salt generator for us, I took my water samples to said company to get our chemistry straightened out. $300 in chemicals later, I had cloudy, green water. Fed up, I took a sample up to St. Charles Pool and Spa, and that afternoon, I had a sparkling, clear pool. I've never gone anywhere else with chemical questions since! They also helped me troubleshoot a motor problem I had last year, setting 2 motors up in the back room to check their performance. I highly recommend this store. read more

I had a broken hot tub. Very first time I called, Kenny seemed like a nice guy and described how the cold could have frozen a pipe. Made sense so he said they could be out about 7 days later for service, he'd call me the day before so I could put the garden hose in to help him diagnose the leak. He never called or showed. In fairness, it was middle of winter, so I thought maybe 40° temps caused them to cancel work for that day. I let it slide. I reach him two weeks later and he apologizes and says he'll be out on Monday (3 days later) but after i tell him I'm anxious to get this tub working because we use it a lot and we were actually expecting them two weeks ago, he says he'll make a trip tomorrow, Saturday, just to earn my business. I wait around all day, no call, no show. After the 3 hour window passed, I called the store: "Ohhhhh yeah! I'm sorry! We can't make it today, we'll come Monday from 10-1." I'm typing this on Monday after waiting around for the third time for three hours Their winter hours are only 24 total hours of the week (Wed-Fri 10-5, Sat 10-1) so this is after I've called every day for weeks to even get ahold of them. They have no answering machine (just an automated message referring to their Christmas hours, which was a month and a half ago) so you can't leave a message. They have no website or emaiHow do they even get new business? The few times I've talked to them, they seem nice. But who cares if I can't get them to do anything for me?? Now I don't want them touching my expensive equipment. Why is it that almost EVERY pool/spa company in Saint Louis has horrible reviews? Or is that America now? Good, honest business people. I went in to St. Charles Pool and Spa yesterday looking for a new filter cartridge for my hot tub and some advice on chemicals. The woman behind the counter told me that I really needed to bring in my old cartridge to make sure that I didn't purchase the incorrect size since they sell a wide variety of shapes and sizes. I then began asking questions about chemicals for my spa. She thoroughly explained the purpose of each chemical and what she thought I needed. Then the owner, whose name is Kenny jumped in and led me out to where all of the spa chemicals were on display in the store. He told me that it sounded like I already had everything I needed and actually discouraged me from purchasing anything additional. I was really impressed with their honesty and the fact that they werent simply trying to make a sale. So I headed home and grabbed my filthy old filter cartiridge and then u-turned back towards Cottleville. When I walked in with the stinky, nasty filter cartridge and said "this is the one the I need to replace", guess what I was told? You guessed it. The guy behind the counter said, "you don't need a new filter, that one is perfectly fine. Just go home, soak it in a degreaser for 30 minutes or so and it should last you another year or two". I was flabbergasted! Two trips and the folks at St. Charles Pool and Spa didn't get one stinkin' peso out of me. But they did get one thing out of me. They earned my business. read more

I have always had great service from Kenny and his staff. I was also spoiled by them being down the street. They are now relocating further away, but I will follow. You just do not get service like this anymore. Great place to do business. read more

Horrible company. We scheduled our pool opening with St Charles Pool & Spa for May 18th, way back in the fall of 2021. May 18th came, and they said we were 7th on the list so it would be later in the evening before they got here. They never showed, so we called back the next day and they said we were 2nd on the list. Then bad weather rolled in, so they never showed. We called the next day, and they said they had no record of us in their system and they had no work order for us. After saying they would "get to the bottom of it", they never called us back. We FINALLY got a hold of them after about 800 tries, and they said they would be out Saturday at 9:30 unless it rained, in which case they would be out Monday at 9:30. It did rain. Now it's Monday at 11, and they still haven't showed. We've been calling all morning, but you can't get through when you call, it is just a perpetual busy signal. Once we asked why we couldn't leave a voicemail, and they told us their voicemail is too full. How does this company stay in business!?? They don't show up for their appointments, and you can't even call the store because the line is always busy. Horrible service, unprofessional, NEVER AGAIN!!! read more

I have never seen a retailer like them; They go way out of their way to make things work without extra expense to you! I have been meaning to write a review for this place for some time. I have to say this is the place to go for all your pool needs!!! Last year my husband and I decided to put in a new pool liner, Kenny was more than willing to answer all of our questions. Not only that but everytime we go there he helps us with anything we need and he doesn't just try to sell you something. If you don't need it he won't sell it to you. Kenny and his staff are the ONLY ones we trust with our pool. In fact we have to go out of our way and pass at least 4 other places that probably sell what we need (and what we don't). We found this out the hard way when we first purchased our home in Jan 2013 obviously there was no way to check the pool equipment at that time. When spring rolled around we decided to call a company that is literally a 2 minute drive from our house because this seemed like a convenient way to go. Big mistake, HUGE! This guy comes out starts looking at the equipment and tells me the pump is shot, the liner will have to be replaced as well as the filter. I was miserable. My bf comes home and I tell him all of this and he says well that is weird because he was able to turn the pump with his fingers so it should be okay. We decided to go it alone and see if we could get this pool open (the house was abandoned and foreclosed on and pool spent quite some time uncovered) so we bought chlorine tabs and powder and kept fishing sticks and leaves out and adding chlorine but it never got out of the black water state. My parents have a pool so I finally called dad and asked who they use to open and close he said "Oh just call Kenny" so I did and he came out to our house, looked at our set up and said you don't need anything except for about 12 gallons of liquid chlorine. He then told us everything we needed to know to open and maintain that pool. He and his staff never try to sell us anything we don't need, they test our water when we bring it in and tell us what it needs, how much it needs to correct the problem and if you say you have some at home, no problem. They are so nice we usually buy something while we are there. We just have them open and close it now. read more

They never try to sell you more than you need and they are happy to explain how to fix things instead of trying to sell you something brand new. read more

I trust them for everything with my pool, they have never upsold, mislead, or done anything that would make me not feel totally comfortable recommending anyone to their shop. I have shopped at this store for 3-4 years now and they also close my pool each year. The service and expertise by the staff is exemplary and always amazes me. There hasn't been a single issue they couldn't help me with. They've guided me through sand filter installations, pump seal replacements, deck sprayer help all with a great smile. I can't say enough positive things about this store and their service. Today they helped to resolve another set of questions so I wanted to repay their help by writing a long overdue review. They have a great assortment of parts, never oversell you, and know their products very well. If they don't have a part, they'll almost always get it the next day and their prices are very competitive. It seems they know more about my pool than the original installer. read more
