Website advertises happy hour from opening to 5:00pm. Apparently, they are intentionally lying.

The fish and chips is good. Generous 2-piece portion. The regular hamburger was decent as well.

Went here for late night drinks because they are open late and have a big space so the wait here wasn't too long. They had good music which was not too loud so you can have a conversation while having a good time. Their beer menu is huge and they had a lot of options! We got their margarita, rum & coke, and a lot of jager bombs. Since we went their on a Saturday night, the place was crowded but the service was still very quick. It was pretty impressive! We got their potatoes as a shared plate with hot sauce (would recommend their sauce). This place is also just a 5min walk from Commercial Broadway station so the location is perfect for an impromptu night of drinking.

If you would like to go to a brewery pub, St Augustine is one of the easiest place to go and it is located at commercial and Broadway side of Skytrain. This place place is cool with different options for beer and good options for food. If you have questions, their waiter was good and he helped us to decided what we can eat. We ate the chicken wings and the chicken burger. Both of them were good. Beers were refreshing and good flavours too. I wish their tables were still the same style from years ago, they were more comfy! Other than that, good place to visit. Cheers

Standard pub-quality food. I did enjoy the fish tacos, but I have definitely had better in Vancouver. Large selection of beer, everyone will be able to find something they like. Friendly service - but really loud inside. The tables were fairly close together. If possible, make a reservation and get a table near a window (slightly quieter!) No issue when asking about my peanut allergy, so it seems they are accommodating there.

I read that they serve New Haven style pizza (or apizza) here recently so I rushed down here to try it with my buddy. Amidst the craft beer options and burgers, I went straight for what I can here solely for.. I ordered the "red pie" on the menu. Let me tell you. From one pizza connoisseur to another. It did not disappoint. It was exactly what I was looking for after binge watching Davey Portnoy pie videos consecutively on Facebook. "One bite, everybody knows the rules". "Ok, Frankie." "Pizza Review time." My score? 9.2/10. I'm still day-dreaming over its crispiness the morning after. The tanginess of the sauce. So simple. So basic. Yet, so perfect. Damn. I'm salivating in my brain, right now. If you like Ragazzi's, you'll like this. None of this Pizza Hut Dominos bulls*%#+..

Price/quality (3/4): Their food is nothing to write home about (standard pub quality) but their beer is where they truly shine. With a beer/cider menu that long, you're bound to find something you like. Service (0/1): This place can get very busy, especially on weekend nights. It's unfortunately possible for the server to forget your order on such nights, and you may have to order the same drink a number of times before you finally get it. Would I come here again: Probably, at least for the beer.

Think it has been almost 2 yrs since we last visited St Augustine's and came by on a Sunday late afternoon. Very pleasantly surprised to get a table as the establishment was 1/2 empty...guess as it was Sunday afternoon. The food menu has many options including vegetarian with mostly pub type fare. Pizza's are $9 on Sunday which is a good deal if you are in the mood for pizza. We split some yam fries and a pizza and both were ok. The pizza was a little dry and needed more basil and tomato sauce. The service was quite good and with so few patrons, our server was very attentive and pleasant. Metered street parking is available, there are a few 2 hr free spots in the area (very few) and they also have free roof top parking. And here it is all about the beers. Their selection of beers is still very impressive. I sampled two strong IPAs from two of my favourite local craft breweries...hard to beat that. With the great selection of beers, great service and many food options, it was a positive food experience and happy to recommend St Augustine's.

Keep in mind that 3 stars isn't a bad thing. It stands of A-OK. I thought the servers were nice the two times I came here. The food... well... it was A-OK. I liked the mushroom and spinach pizza and wasn't wowed by the fried pickle or the poutine the first time I came. The second time we came mostly for drinks but I was in a Apple Pie mood. They had an Apple pie for dessert and an Apple Pie drink. I won't like I enjoyed the drink but the dessert was just average. This place is okay. Loud, which you should expect from a Pub, and you come here to drink. More me, a girl who doesn't really drink I look at the food and I wasn't impressed but wasn't disgusted. I would say this place has a plenty selection of drinks to choose from that ranges from beers to cocktails. If you want food try the pizza.

It had to happen. After a few return visits, I finally remembered why I stopped going to this place for a number of years. Poor value. Indifferent service. Four imperial stouts in the almost $10 taster flight served in two ounce shot glasses, of which about half an ounce of each had spilled into the serving paddle. Okay, I can appreciate these are high alcohol beers, but after the spills, I was probably left with about six ounces. A starter of probably a half dozen halved and fried Brussels sprouts in one of those oh-so-tiny cast iron frying pans... $9.50! Our servers response to our questioning the small serving sizes and high cost... an indifferent apology. No offer to at least bring another shot glass of beer to make up for the spillage. Apparently, it's "not their policy"? Would that be to make customers happy? She did bring our almost $30 bill, though, for one extra-small taster flight, a beer, and a few bites of a small starter. Best to avoid this place, at least for another four or five years.

My paddle of beer tasters for $9.75

Went last night on a packed and busy Saturday night and was surprised how it turned out. The waitress we had was super swamped with multiple tables but had a good memory of what beer taps were still available and dealing with our requests. She also came by with water often to refill our water glasses as they were being emptied. The food isn't the greatest but in a pinch it will do. Their shining achievement is their large number of beer tap variety (with live online menu) and now I've got to say the service was good My favourite thing is to get their $9.75 beer paddles to sample a few different tasters of beer. I'd recommend going for dinner elsewhere on The Drive then coming here for appies and drinks. I will actually look forward to coming back to this place again!

Firstly when we arrived nobody greeted us for I would say about 10 minutes even though the place was quite empty when we arrived, and when we finally received a table we were seated at a table that was wobbly, and the menus we received were stained and sticky, which got me immediately on edge about hygiene and made me uncomfortable. For drinks selection - nothing special that you can't get anywhere else, and the place being quite empty the vibe was quite boring too. I just felt uncomfortable being there and there isn't anything special about this pub that you can't get better anywhere else. We finished the one drink that we got and headed elsewhere. I wouldn't recommend this spot.

This corner spot is neatly tucked away with a few outdoor seating spots, but the magic in itself is inside. The mix of vintage and old glam showcases the hybrid aesthetic. Perfectly described, The Ballyhoo definitely lives up to the over-the-top decor from their food offerings and styling. I managed to find myself arriving within happy hour and was super please I was able to bring my laptop out and get some work done without it causing anyone a fuss. The server I had was super friendly and she had all the tables she was handling in good spirit. After opting for a local draft beer and some bites, I kept over hearing how delicious the mozz sticks were. Now IDK how one levels up mozzarella sticks, but these truly were some of the best I've ever had. The dipping sauce was super spicy but bearable for anyone's heat preference and the breading and cheese inside had such a burst of flavor you wanted to simply inhale them. What had me in awe though was the cheese pull game. No need to fear about them being overdone not cooked enough, these babies were cooked to perfection with the cheese literally oozing out of each bite. I saw a few plates being served around and think this spot is definitely worth exploring.
