So I'm an old dude who likes his stereo systems that have some kick to them, I came up in the 80s when stereos started to become a real thing. I've had all kinds of the Blaupunkt, pioneer , Kenwood, Sony , JVC, Jensen I've had them all. Alpine is my favorite. So I got a new vehicle and it was time for the stereo so I started shopping around and of course I went to car toys and I've actually had them do for for me a couple times or the years and NEVER been impressed with anything they do, personally I always know more about what I'm looking to buy than any of their sales staff. That being said I went into SS BARGAIN AUDIO on Evergreen way and met Steve the owner. After several trips in and out of SS BARGAIN and researching on the internet I decided to try Steve and SS BARGAIN AUDIO. I went with almost all of Steve's recommendations except for the head unit, I wasn't budging on my go to brand ALPINE that has never let me down or disappointed me. Until now! Steve more than once suggested the Kenwood head unit receiver but I wouldn't listen. Shortly after the installation there was an issue so I brought my vehicle back wondering how this would go..... Steve and Lee His installer were all over and although it took a few days he had gotten information from Alpine headquarters that they had seen this issue and had a solution for it, a software update. So after that things were better but still not as they should be. The head unit was doing all kinds of erratic things disconnecting from siriusXM if I sent or received a text message, having trouble connecting period and all of the problems were intermittent. So back to SS BARGAIN and Steve I went , by now a few months had passed and I was sure that would be unable or unwilling to help. I was wrong on both counts. At this point I was so frustrated that I told him I was just done with the Alpine ! And Steve being the stand up businessman that he is had no problem with that so I paid the difference in price between the two units and they yanked out the old Alpine and installed the new Kenwood no problem no questions asked. There's still really early but so far I'm extremely happy. I can't say enough good things about SS BARGAIN AUDIO !!! You would be making a huge mistake if you go anywhere else!!! Lee is a skilled installer and very much educated and up to date on all the new equipment. I've never had a better experience or installation. And if car toys did happen to do a decent installation job for you if you have any equipment issues I'm sure that you are out of luck or at minimum you'll be paying. PLEASE GO TO SS BARGAIN ADUIO for anything car stereo related I promise that you won't regret it and I'm willing to wager that you'll never go anywhere else!!! HANDS DOWN THE BEST SHOP IN EVERETT!!! And if I wasn't clear I went back took the Alpine out and put the Kenwood in and like it said it hasn't been long enough for a detailed review on the Kenwood head unit but so far I'm as happy as a pig in sh*t! I'll do a follow up review on the Kenwood, but I'm sure I'll still be happier with it than the Alpine. My only guess with why the Alpine had so many issues is my vehicle is a 2014 and the Alpine unit just came out in 2024 so maybe some of the electronics weren't jiving ??? Sounds weird but it's all I can come up with. Like I said for 20 plus years I've never had any issues with Alpine. But I'm happier right now with my Kenwood. read more

Remember back in the day when you could walk into an Audio store and look, touch, listen and ask questions? Oh snap, this is that place. My husband was in the market for a sub for his old mustang. He knows his car audio stuff and was asking questions to whom I think was the owner. He was really knowledgeable and knew his stuff. You just never know what to expect anymore. I have done business back in the day with car toys, Voss, and some places down south. This place is awesome and you don't have the pressure as you do at Car Toys. At any rate, my husband got what he needed and they even threw in one of the squash air fresheners (if you know, you know) If I need any more car audio stuff, I would come here with no hesitation. Go here if you need a new stereo in your car. Period. I have been to Cartoys and Stereo Warehouse with other vehicles and have been disappointed almost every time because a those two places, kids do the job and they don't do it well. I finally asked a few friends on my facebook page for recommendations on a new place since the stock radio went out in my Jeep a few months ago. A friend of mine recommended this place and I am so happy he did. A little about my experience: I called earlier in the day and the owner, Steve answered the phone. He was polite and immediately checked to see if he has the kit and parts he would need to get me in that day. He let me know he could do same day installation and I took him up on that. After work, I drove up there and he spent time with me walking me through all the different touch screen decks that he had that would be compatible with my phone. That being said, I didn't want a new deck at all. If there was a way to just fix the original issue, I would have taken that route, but I knew that I was going to have to get a new one. Steve told me that he would troubleshoot the issue for me and that if he could fix the issue without me having to buy a new deck, he would. He tested the speakers, tinkered with the wiring trying to fix it for me. Although it was in fact the deck that needed the replacing, I appreciate him greatly for doing the extra work to make sure 100% beforehand, ya know? Unlike CarToys who would have taken your money and got you a neck deck, even if that wasn't going to fix the issue. All in all I think I was only there for about 2 hours and now my stereo works the way in should. No punk kid worked on my vehicle. Come to think about it.. There were not employees that were young or just hired help. Steve did a lot of the work and I'm pretty sure it was his brother helping him out. Such a good experience. I normally Don't spend my money on frivilous things like sound systems for cars. But I wanted something okay for my work truck, seeing as how I spent so much time in it. Gave a basic run down on what I wanted. And before I could make an informed decision,the owner had already went out to my truck,sized everything up, and told me what I'd need. For the price of just a shabby "Dual" deck at Wal-Mart or anywhere else,I got a Kenwood CD player with two bad assed speakers INSTALLED. YAAAAAAYY! Now I'm officially one of those retards who has a bad assed system in a crappy truck,lol. J/K. Its nothing too crazy. But a great deal. RHello, I've had major stereo systems installed into my Cadillac Escalade, Shelby Cobra GT500 Super Snake, and now my Harley-Davidson! All the equipment I've bought here and the installs were ABSOLUTELY PERFECT! I've had many many cars and trucks over the years but had not found SS Bargain Audio until I was up in that area looking at stereos with a friend. The companies I've used in the past did OK installs but problems would start right away. If not right away always within a couple RE months. The results of those others left me without loud music until finding a talented company with great gear like SS Bargain Audio. I'm very thankful to have found SS Audio! Both the stereos in the GT500 and the Escalade sound like I'm in a concert! They're so clear yet loud at the same time!! I researched exactly what speakers I wanted and they actually had ALL OF THEM!! They have great boxes and anything else your car is begging for!! They're currently installing a full system into my Harley-Davidson Electra Glide with a 1000 watt amp and an awesome subwoofer!! I just got an update and things are going great!! I'm sooooo glad I drive all the way up to SS Audio from Seattle because they have taken great care of me and EVERY friend and family member I've ever sent to them! I dropped by this store with a scary problem, the stereo in my minivan was putting out smoke. The owner found the smoldering wires and replaced the stereo with a new, affordable one. When I came back to pick it up, he explained that the problem was a bad/wrong fuse, which he had replaced for me already. Then he sat in the car with me and showed me how all the features work! Believe it or not, they were very nasty and unaccommodating when I returned an item, and refused the return. Subsequent custom work they did was not successful, and they refused to fix I when I brought it back. I will never do business with them again. read more

Went here for a stereo install and speaker set up. I brought my own items in just needed the install. Speakers are great but the stereo install... WOW the guy tells me that he tried flying some items back in which he says they're broken already clearly not then instead of telling to get a new dash he tries to go redneck on it and destroys my kit making it trash also wasting another 30 out of my pocket. Great place! I bought some 6x9's and my right side was playing very low. Once I called they said bring the speaker back in, they tested it and it played fine.....they swapped it out for a new speaker anyway! very cool. Turns out it was an audio plug that had not been fully engaged from my earlier amp installation. The speakers were perfect and sound great! I took my brand new 2018 Hyundai Elantra in for a remote start. This is my first BRAND new car and I am VERY picky about it and am always making sure there are no dents etc. The tech broke, lost or something, the cover that goes over my keyhole on the drivers side door. They not only denied it but called me a liar and said it was never there. When I went to pick up the car the tech tried to show me how to use my key.. why would I use the key to open my door when I not only have auto-unlock on my faub but also a push button on the door handle itself? I asked him this and he looked nervous. I noticed then that the cover that goes over the keyhole was missing. When I asked where it was, he became VERY nervous and said it wasn't there. I told him it was, I knew for a FACT it was because I lock my doors with the button right next to it on the handle. He then started walking around looking on the floor. The owner yelled from the front of the store that it was a plug. He of course didn't find it. This is going to cost me over $100 to have it replaced and the dealership said those covers don't fall off. You can break them off if you don't know how to open it (to which 'I' do! but have never had too!) I went back to the business to speak with the owner, who basically stated I just didn't notice it wasn't there and when I told him I knew for a FACT it was, he called the tech out to whom denied not only ever trying to show me how to use the key but called me a liar.. the owner was just as bad. We have done A LOT of business and have referred others there but not now. I have filed a complaint with the better business Bureau and will be filing a lawsuit if that doesn't work. read more

STAY FAR AWAY!!! Within two hours of my stereo install it completely fried all of my circuits and my stereo never worked the same again. Not only this but they actually bent my hood trying to get the wires thru. WORST DECISION OF MY LIFE. Back yard punk kids who think they know everything when in reality they don't know what the hell they are doing. When I sold the car that I had the stereo installed in, the buyer actually laughed and said "you put the stereo in yourself didnt you"? It was embarrassing. Dont even bother going back to tell them they screwed everything up because then they magically dont speak English anymore and will tell you they did nothing wrong without even looking at anything. read more

I bought my son a stereo system from amazon for xmas. I called car toys they quoted me 300+for install. Called SS and he said 180,00. Best part was his installer broke a dash piece on my sons car and owner ordered a new 1 from acura and fixed it no questions asked. These people are horrible! They lied to me about the price to install a speaker that I bought and said (after seeing it) that they were going to have to charge me more money because they needed to modify the speaker to install it. I asked him if I could compare the speakers because Amazon assured me it would fit neatly into my old speaker slot. He wouldn't agree to letting me see it. He's a liar and a scammer....I can see by the other reviews that he delivers extremely poor customer service. He and his wife are very rude and I told them I was going to write a review to discourage others from using them. What a rip-off....they obviously don't care about their reputation as installers. read more
