Went in for a tint for a Groupon Deal. It was advertised as 5 windows for around $160. When I checked in for my appointment, the small quarter panel windows racked up another hefty charge, as well as getting a shade darker than 35% ended up being another charge more. All said and done, I ended up paying closer to $290 or so. A week later, I noticed that the driver side window had debris lodged between the window and tint, causing a bubble that couldn't physically settle. I came back in and the tint was replaced fairly quickly. However, when I mentioned the issue over the phone, the person I spoke with had a bit of an attitude about it, despite trying to not be "that guy". This is the third vehicle I've had tinted in the Everett/Lynnwood area in the past decade, and I couldn't help but notice how many bubbles are still present after 3+ weeks, baking in the sun - every single window. I didn't have the same issue with all my other cars. I wouldn't be as picky about it, but it's also a brand new car, so it kinda sucks. As far as browsing some of the audio stuff, some of the equipment seemed to be over-priced. I asked about a line outlet converter which I knew the price of online (LC2i), and I believe they were asking $50 higher than on Amazon. read more

BEWARE. Talked to representative on a Friday. Gave him all specifics make model window tint requests etc. Told me to come in and they would beat the price on Groupon. Drove 40 mins and when I got there, they told me that they didn't do those kinds of deals and $100 over the Groupon price they could do my five windows. Groupon $143. At the counter $243. Bait and switch comes to mind. Definitely would look elsewhere. read more

I'll post more photos tomorrow, the whole team over at FOSS audio is just great to work with, on all levels. From Yelp-to-text-to-phone-to-closing-in-person was great. I really didn't know too much about tinting Windows, just that I took for granted that my past two vehicles came with the tint. This being my first tint job I did some research. There's plenty of information online about what's good-batter-best, but once I went out on the market the prices were all over the place for all sorts of materials. The guys at FOSS were knowledgeable about the product and didn't really pressure me into any sale. I told them what I was looking for, a Carbon film tint, and what my price point was. By the end of it I ended up getting a higher quality ceramic tint at a fair price right within my range. Isaac is the person that I dealt with, he was straight-forward and honest. The whole process was seamless. I just got the tint today, it comes with a lifetime warranty and I was told if I notice any imperfections or bubbling to bring it right back to get fixed. I'll come back and update in a couple of months with how it stands up. I ended up going with the Profilm Ceramic Film on rear and side windows. read more

Service requested: First thing, their is no service at this place. I was going to have my car towed to Foss because the battery was dead due to the alarm system. I was told they would not push the car into one of their service bays because they did not have enough staff and that I would have to do it. I told them the battery is probably dead and a new one would be needed. Foss told me I would have to get the battery for them. The guy I spoke with at Foss has a bad back. No telling if he was up to performing the work and everything is paid up front before work is started. By the way, the alarm system was installed by Stereotomy out of Issaquah and was owned by Foss Audio before it closed. There are too many red flags to hire these guys. Save your money and go elsewhere! read more

First I have to say that I've drive by this place hundreds of times and didn't even know it was there, of course I didn't need anything audio. I found this place because Best Buy was out of a lot of their car stereos so they said try Foss Audio just up the road. Well we stopped by and Cobe couldn't have been nicer. He is very knowledgeable and didn't try and sell us the most expensive stereo. He was very patience and answered all our questions. After we settle on a stereo he was able to get us in the next day. It's a small shop but they have good attention to detail. So ask for Cobe when you go in, he'll take good care of you! read more

One speaker in my Corolla went out after being intermittent for a while. I was pretty sure it was the wiring after I did 5 minutes of online research. Went here and they convinced me that it was the speakers. Replaced both front speakers for $300 and I was happy initially. It's only been a little over a month and the same exact speaker is now completely out again. Called and left a message and received no response for over a week. I would recommend going anywhere else because they sold me a product I didn't need and didn't fix the issue that I went to them for. read more

Fast, easy and good people. I've had two of my cars tinted there (last one was yesterday) and they're flawless. Best prices in the Puget Sound, believe me I checked around. I requested a quote for the front windows on my Mercedes a couple years ago and they were the first to reply. I brought in my son's car for a new stereo and dash cam. After 4 return visits to get everything working properly, I just gave up. Equipment didn't work as promised. They left bits of wire and insulation in the car as well as breaking all the interior molding on the hatch. A real junk show! read more

Awesome job tinting the truck. Will be back for my other vehicle! They were super helpful and had me done in 2 hours. The ceramic tint looks great and prevents people from looking inside my vehicle. I had the drivers window smashed without tint so this is to protect my belongings. The tint will keep people from looking in and hold it together if they break another window which will help with cleanup instead of having to deep clean the whole vehicle because glass went all over. read more

Did a great job on my radar detector but not so much on a new stereo. Paid more for labor than the stereo cost and left with a horrible ticking noise that they couldn't fix but then said they don't guarantee anything. Went back after a week to get it fixed and they wanted more money to fix their issue. Told them to take it all out and refund since they couldn't fix it but still only have half of my money back. Went to Car Toys and got a new stereo with no ticking. read more

I have had both a remote starter with digital bypass and the higher grade of ceramic window tinting on the 2 front windows of my FJ Cruiser to match the factory tinting on the rest of the glass (minus the windshield) on the vehicle and I couldn't be happier with the not only the work, but also the value of the deals I was able to enjoy at Foss in Everett. The work was done in less time than had been estimated on both counts and I found Gabriel to be incredibly knowledgeable and helpful in assisting me in making the correct selections for my vehicle. This place is terrible! I got all 4 of my door windows & the rear window done here. I had to get my entire tint redone "FIVE" different times & it still looks awful. There are bubbles, hair & dirt on every single window. I'm sick of being without a car for a whole day just to come back to the tint still being messed up. The staff is very nice & charming which takes you away from the fact that they deliver terrible service. I got the run around every time that I would try to reschedule another appointment to get my tint fixed. I don't know how they are with sound systems, but do NOT get your tint done here. We purchased a stereo system from Foss in June of 2019 and after some mechanical work we had done on the vehicle the stereo did not work as well as it did before (the problem was unrelated to anything Foss did). We took our vehicle in to Foss to see if they could fix the stereo. Gabe investigated the stereo thoroughly and although he could not find anything specifically wrong with the stereo, he made recommendations on how to work around the problem. Plus, for all the investigation he did there was no charge as he honored the warranty on the stereo! Excellent customer service! In addition, after his investigation the radio worked better! Update: I couldn't deal with the defensiveness of the guy who said he was the manager on the phone, so I asked my husband to deal with him. I've fought enough battles to know it's just easier to ask a man to deal with other men. Turns out he wasn't the manager. The guy at the counter said he was the manger G, but he turned out to just be employee T. G replaced the deck with a better one and fixed the face plate. I will update to give two stars, but I can't recommend this place for a few reasons, but the fact that I had to ask my husband to deal with them is not the least of them. Being called a liar (the part failed; I didn't break it) by people who misidentify themselves isn't great either. Maybe a young person with a muscle car will like this place, but if you're a retired woman with a Prius, skip it. read more

We called to get our car windows tinted. We needed the front two done and to match the back. Picked the car up and just paid the bill. The quote was for $110. Checked our bank and I was charged $540. Come to find out that tinted the hole car and would not make it right by removing the tint and make the front match the back. Finally got the work order and the line for two windows is filled out. So the installer read it wrong. Made a complaint with the Attorney General. After they contacted Foss they agreed that we're right but they can't force them to make fix it or refund us. So now, it's take them to court for $540 or walk away. What a real pain in my. Don't use them it ends up more work that the savings.. read more

Horrible time management and communication skills. Took my car in at 10 am for a component door speakers and DSP Amp install...it's now 6:15 pm and they're just finishing up the doors, nothing on the amp yet. They have time to sell and finish other jobs before completing mine. I would expect a rushed job given these actions not quality. First they told me 5-6 hrs. now just sitting around with no updates unless I ask. At 9+ hours they should be paying me for my time. No apologies either. If I'm spending $2,000 + i would expect more focus on my job. Feeling very disappointed and disrespected. Would not recommend. read more

My husband brought his car here and had them apply tint to all of his car windows. Shortly after, he passed away and I brought his car back to them to remove the tint as it was darker than legal and I couldn't see out the back windshield. In removing the tint, which cost $170, the also REMOVED THE DEFROST STRIPS from the back windshield. Not until I'd paid and was about to leave, did the company tell me that they'd removed the defrost strips and said if I wanted to be able to defrost my back window, I'd need to replace the windshield entirely. I wish they would have told me that was a possible outcome ahead of time, (I was sitting within speaking distance during the entire appointment but nobody bothered to let me know until the damage was done). Now that the weather is getting colder, I have to replace the windshield so I can defrost, which is very expensive. Had I know they were going to remove the weather strips, I would have just replaced the windshield then, without paying to remove the tint. These people are sneaky, overpriced and take advantage of their customers. I would not recommend. read more

I went to Foss Audio on Friday 10/21/22. Before I went I You-Tube about what the problem could be if the reverse camera isn't working on your car. I have a 2012 GL 450 Mercedes Benz. You-Tube said that if your camera view is not totally black and the backup grid is still showing then you probably have a broken wire, a blown fuse, or not getting power to the camera. I personally went down to remove the panel off the back door to get to the camera in the rear. After I notice that the wiring was in a harness wrapped professionally. I knew that the broken wire was probably not the problem. I worked at Union Pacific as a trailer Mechanic for 12 years and it was part of my job to be able to diagnose electric problems. So I knew that the problem had to be either the ground, the fuse, or the power source. So not having the proper equipment I decided to take it to Foss Audio. I talk to the mechanic and told him what You-Tube had said about the situation. So he made an appointment for me for the following day and told me he would charge $159.00 an hour plus taxes I agreed and sign the appointment sheet. When I got there it was another Employee at the register and he told me he would charge $120.00 an hour plus taxes. I told him that sounded better to me. Then he told me if it didn't take an hour and only 30 mins that he would pro-rate it and it would cost $60.00. I said great and thank you. So they took my car to the back and remember I had already taken the back panel off of the rear door so the camera and wires was already exposed. At about the 30 min mark I walked to the back and when I came through the door the mechanic came walking fast from around the side of another car. He immediately said let me show you what I found. We went to the rear of my car and he took his tester and placed it on the camera fuse and told me it was good. He then took the tester and placed it on the wire going into the camera connector that gave power to the camera and it showed it wasn't getting any power and he said that the problem was coming from a module that is in the radio and that I probably would need a new radio. I agreed that it probably was the problem. So Then he asked me did I want him to put the panel back up and I said yes I would because I have been working on this car on several occasions and knew that it takes less the 2 minutes to replace the panel on the back door. I went back in to pay the gentleman who quoted me $120.00 but if it didn't take an hour he would prorate it. After he talked with the mechanic he told me he would let him charge me. So after he wrote up the ticket the total came to 175.00. I told him I wasn't going to pay no $175.00 and that the other guy at the register told me he would charge me $120.00 for an hour or if it was 30 minutes he would charge me $60.00. This mechanic told me that I signed a paper that said it was $159.00 an hour and I said but it didn't take an hour. He said I know it took 45 minutes but he charges a basic $159.00 even if it didn't take an hour. So now I wouldn't have a problem if he would had did any work but what he did was open my back door and saw the panel already taken down and all he had to do was test the fuse and check the wire with the tester which would only take a minute and that's why I took the panel down in the first place. But the reason I didn't go to the back earlier was because I thought that maybe he was taking the wire harness loose to check the wiring or he was taking the radio out the front panel to check the wire connection there. He didn't do any of those things. When I came to the back and he was coming from around another car and after I saw he hadn't done anything but check two wires. I knew when I saw the billing the fraud he was committing against me. In times like these we must uncover these type of scams and the people doing them. I would recommend that you think twice about taken your car to them or at least making sure that you don't have this mechanic on your car. I took my car to them prior to this time with my Range Rover and the mechanic spent almost twice as much time and he fixed my radio and he had to take the radio out the dash to get to something and when I got my bill it was $100.00. So this guy is a ripoff artist and I want the public to know. I will be filing suit against them come next week. read more
