I bought a Toyota Tacoma and I was very adamant about telling them we need to make this one better than the Pathfinder and it needs to be probably 15% to match the rears he ignored what I said and put 25% on it anyway after he was done, I went back into the shop and I showed him that's not what I asked for and it was very different than the back and he kind of pushed back on me saying the back is 22% or whatever he was saying but visually it's very different so then I called to ask how much to get it removed and put 15% back on. They said they'd remove it for free but I have to pay for the retint so basically ignored what I asked, put what he felt was necessary on my car and then wants to charge me to do it the way I want it done. It's really too bad as I buy a minimum of 2 cars a year and this likely costed them some repeat business.

Avoid APC Auto Spa at All Costs…read more We hired APC Auto Spa (Monroe location) for ceramic coating, paint protection film, and window tinting, and the experience was an absolute disaster. The work was so poorly done that we had to pay another shop over $4,600 to completely remove and redo everything just to fix the damage. The other shop had their entire team inspect the truck and unanimously agreed it was the worst work they had ever seen. Everyone who saw it in person said the same. Since having the work redone by true professionals, we've had zero issues. You can get one inch away and it's flawless. APC claims they offered a refund or to reinstall the film--but what they actually offered was to remove and redo it themselves. After multiple failed attempts and having to bring the truck back again and again, we had no confidence they could fix it and didn't trust them not to make it worse. They also claim the court "ruled in their favor." In reality, the case was dismissed because of a buried arbitration clause in their terms and conditions--not because the work was acceptable. APC kept our money, and we had to pay again to have the job done correctly elsewhere. Heather, the owner, was dishonest, rude, and completely unaccountable. She lied in court, twisted the truth at every opportunity, and made a terrible situation worse at every turn. Rather than owning the mistakes, she deflected blame, denied what was obvious, and hid behind fine print to avoid responsibility. The photos we posted weren't taken "during removal" as they now claim--we have identical photos taken in our driveway right after APC said the job was complete. They also try to justify their quality with a clause that states the work only needs to "look good from six feet away." That is actually written in their terms. If that's the standard they stand behind, it speaks for itself. This was the worst customer experience we've ever had. APC Auto Spa delivered unacceptable results, refused to make it right, and kept our money. Avoid this business at all costs.

I drove one hour both ways to get it done at Skyline, which I think tells you how badly wanted to get the windows tinted here. Here are pros and cons, followed by my advice. PROS + Andrey is responsive. He answers questions thoroughly and responds to emails quickly. + He is in this business for 20 some years, and he know the stuff. I went in thinking I will go with 35%, but he recommended 30% and advised against going any lighter than that. Initially, I was a bit worried that 30% would be too dark, but I'm glad I followed his advice. 30% is exactly what I wanted and looks great. It's like picking a paint color for your house. You would know until you see it on the house, but experienced professionals know what it will look like. + I thought the price was reasonable. I chose a single layer ceramic film by autobahn. It took them 4 hours to install it on my C43 coupe (side windows and the back). I paid $400 plus tax. With the quality of work and the time it took them, I don't think $400 is bad at all. + It was clear to me that customer experience was important to Andrey. He threw in a bottle of window cleaner made by autobahn for free. I found two really minor scratches on the passenger door (probably caused by finger nails, nothing deep). Instead of arguing with me he offered to buff them out. CONS - I can't think of anything. MY ADVICE @ If you need to kill time while they are working on your car, Alderwood Mall isn't too far. As I had 4 hours to kill, I walked there and back. It took me 40 minutes each way. Adjacent to the mall are H-Mart (Korean grocery store), Costco, and a couple of strip malls. @ As always, whenever you give your key to anyone, take pictures of the car. I usually take pictures and video tape the car. Although I didn't have to deal with it with Andrey, it's the only way to avoid your word against theirs. @ It comes with 3~5 days of curing time. During that, you cannot roll down your windows. Also, you may see some minor bubbles, but they are supposed to disappear. Once the curing time is over, I will post some photos. I made my appointment 2 weeks prior so the fact that I wasn't made aware of this fee until the night before the service is crazy.
