Carlos has tinted two of my vehicles and first and foremost, he has done a fabulous job on both. His work is clean and he I wouldn't hesitate to bring him my next car. Even after I had a product failure (not Carlos's fault) he graciously ate the cost and took the time to replace the sheet. Carlos at The DarkSide does AMAZING work! I know this because he's applied window tinting and chip protection to my cars three times over the past 12 years, which is why I keep going back. He's been in the business a long time and is an expert at his craft. He's honest, straightforward, easy to work with, and stands by his work. His work is so good, in fact, that Seattle Mini used him exclusively for years until they decided to take the work in-house (but at Tacoma Mini) and to charge 30-40% more than Carlos charges. So when I purchased my latest Mini, I reached out directly to Carlos and had him apply window tinting and chip protection instead of the dealership - not only did I save hundreds of dollars, but I knew the workmanship would be top notch. Was looking for a window tint ASAP and was able to find this place. They had availability probably a week out of me calling and was able to provide suggestions or a second opinion on what I should go for since I'm indecisive. Kindly showed me examples on the lot since this was my first tint and had no idea what final results would look like. Thought it was a fair price and it only took about two hours. Also patiently waited for me as I tried to sort through three different gift cards that wouldn't go through only for me to eventually use my credit. I had a 1999 Extended Cab Toyota Tacoma tinted here back in 2013, and just recently I had a vehicle totaled which led me to acquire a 2002 Extended Cab Toyota Tacoma, so naturally I knew where I wanted to go. 5 Star Yelp reviews and a price competitive to that of other tint companies in the area + no wait time helped solidify my choice. Carlos is the employee who did the tint job. I told him what I wanted - match the front windows to the rear and do a 5% windshield strip. He walked outside with me and we agreed on the strip length. He even grabbed me from the seating area to make sure that's the length that I wanted. I waited until it was complete and took an hour to an hour and a half total. Would recommend to others. I've taken my vehicle back to this establishment after 5 years or so, and will continue to be a (satisfied) customer. Very nice work! read more

Pricing was very competitive, In the past years, I'd had worked with another local tinter, but their administrative stuff was too annoying. I got my Tesla M3 tinted here (including the back part of the roof) and the job was quick and great quality. I was looking for someone to tint the windows on my new 2015 Challenger and I chose Carlos based on all the positive Yelp reviews. I am glad I did! He did an exceptional job on the windows! I also had him install a hood decal as well as side decals and the work is outstanding! The communication was great and he kept me informed regarding the status of the install and went out of his way to let me know that the initial set of decals for the sides of the car weren't looking right due to the mirror cutouts being off a little bit... Thank you! I'd much rather NOT have something that doesn't look right installed on my car! I contacted the vendor and they cut a new set of decals without the mirror cutouts and I came back the following week. Carlos took care of the mirror cutouts during the install for a custom fit! After careful consideration of several tint shops I took my new truck to Darkside to have the front windows tinted to match the rears. All of the positive reviews here are right on. Carlos is very conscientious, a true professional and simply honest. Setting up appointment was easy and he also took time to answer questions. After looking at my truck he let me know right away the factory tint on the rear windows was too dark to match the front legally. He installed the darkest tint possible and while not an exact match it still looks fantastic. I was very concerned about having the job done properly, using the highest quality film and turning out perfect. He fulfilled on all counts. The tint is flawless. Very reasonable pricing too. What a great place to go and get tint and/or film done to your car. Mine is a 2018 Alfa Romeo Giulia Ti Sport. Carlos was awesome! He needed more time to "get it right" and I was happy with that. Someone who takes pride in their work and wants to ensure it's done very well and provides exactly what the customer desires. He took the paint protection film templates and modified them to hide the seams and create better coverage. Tint application was spot and and looks great! Not to light and not too dark, but what I was expecting and after several conversations about product, application and final result!! If you want tint or paint protection....this is the guy to see!!! A+++ and would definitely go back to him again. read more

Just moved from California, where you cant really get away with any tint, so I immediately called Carlos at Darkside when I made the move up to Seattle. Customer service is top notch! Carlos - the owner - is very easy to reach and coordinate with. My three of my friends and I all were planning on getting our cars tinted, and he was the only place out of four places I called that made me feel like I wasn't dealing with someone shady. He is quick to respond and he answers all your questions. He is competitively priced and he is also very quick in terms of workmanship. You can even watch him work on your car. He definitely takes care in his work. When I was researching, one of the things that I was really persnickety about was whether or not Carlos would get the tint all the way up to corners of the glass so that there wasn't that awkward white border on the windows, especially the rear glass. I've seen sedans with a quarter inch white border around the tint on the rear glass because the tint guy didn't go all the way to the edge. You don't have to worry about that with Carlo's work. You can't see any of that such border on the rear windows or side windows of any of my friend's cars or mine. I personally only had my two front passenger windows tinted because my car already had factory tints on the back passenger and rear windows, but my three friends all had sedans without any tint on them, and their tints look like they're from the factory. Absolutely beautiful. I highly recommend having Carlos do your work. I would definitely come back with future vehicles. I'll try and upload photos soon. read more

The best PERIOD. I have tried many different tint shop around Bellevue/Seattle but this one is the best. I had previously done my tint on a different shop all claim they cannot remove dust in the air when bubbles appeared in the tint. But, I do not see a single bubble on my tint done by Carlos. Pro works is different than pro wanna be works. that most tinting shops around WA claimed to be. Thanks again, Carlos! read more

Over the course of four years I have visited Carlos at Darkside Window Tinting to take care of our needs. The cars for the company that I own need to be quality inside and out, our clients deserve and expect it. When we bought our first car four years ago we consulted Yelp to help us find a quality window tinting company. At that time, Darkside had a solid 5 star rating, so we gave Carlos a try. We were not let down by the work that was done and brought him our second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth cars! The quality of work is there and it only makes our cars look even better than when we bought them. The only time we've ever had a problem was when we had some very tiny bubbles at the top of one of the front windows, when I showed them to Carlos...he fixed them right away as we were standing there. No return and no sight of those bubbles ever again. Yesterday, I took him two new cars and he completed both of them in a matter of five hours. Yea, five hours for two full cars. He's a hard working man that owns and operates Darkside all on his own and has earned every single legitimate review on Yelp. I'm looking forward to bringing our next 43 cars to Darkside for our tinting needs. Carlos is does good work... My experience with them was pretty good. They were able to give me the lowest quote (~$200) in town and fit me in rather quickly. They use Aegis films with is made in the USA. They did my audi avant in 4 hours and provided quality work and material. As with all tinting these day, it come with a lifetime warranty. I read good reviews on them on the car forums and they delivered. Looks like a run down building but it works for doing tinting. Carlos will take of you. We may even have them do some tinting on our house. read more

Good overall experience. had an appointment to have my G37 coupe tinted at 10am - I arrived a few minutes early and the place was closed (sign said the owner was offsite with a number to call) I waited until 10am to call. Carlos answers as he pulls up next to me. Talk about timing! The job was done in less than two hours. A little over $200.00 with tax. The tint is excellent - I haven't seen any bubbles. The area is a little shady and easy to miss if you're not looking carefully. Not too much room for parking. Would I consider having other vehicles tinted there? Absolutely! All the positive reviews are correct, this place provides high quality window tinting. My tint has been on for about a year now and I haven't had any issues whatsoever. It looks GREAT! I asked Carlos to match the factory tint on my 4Runner and he did an excellent job. He even met me at the shop early one morning on a day he typically does offsite work. I really appreciated his flexibility and willingness to fit my schedule and will definitely return if I ever need another car tinted. read more

I love Carlos' tint work on my car. He was very professional and answered all of my questions thoroughly. My car is my baby, so I looked very carefully at everything he did. He was detailed and only missed one spot but as soon as I pointed it out, he fixed it right away. Note: The venue is super sketchy looking, but trust me, don't just judge by aesthetics. =] Would highly recommend anyone to get their car tinted here and would most definitely come back if I bought a new car and needed a tint job again. Hi, my name is Carlos, owner of The Darkside Window Tinting. Thank You for visiting my page on Yelp. The Darkside was established in 1990, providing tinting for autos, homes, and commercial buildings. I have since added clear bra paint protection, along with vinyl lettering, graphics and signs. I began tinting in 1997 and worked full time at a local shop for 5 years. In June of 2002 I purchased The Darkside. I drove one hour both ways to get it done at Skyline, which I think tells you how badly wanted to get the windows tinted here. Here are pros and cons, followed by my advice. PROS + Andrey is responsive. He answers questions thoroughly and responds to emails quickly. + He is in this business for 20 some years, and he know the stuff. I went in thinking I will go with 35%, but he recommended 30% and advised against going any lighter than that. Initially, I was a bit worried that 30% would be too dark, but I'm glad I followed his advice. 30% is exactly what I wanted and looks great. It's like picking a paint color for your house. You would know until you see it on the house, but experienced professionals know what it will look like. + I thought the price was reasonable. I chose a single layer ceramic film by autobahn. It took them 4 hours to install it on my C43 coupe (side windows and the back). I paid $400 plus tax. With the quality of work and the time it took them, I don't think $400 is bad at all. + It was clear to me that customer experience was important to Andrey. He threw in a bottle of window cleaner made by autobahn for free. I found two really minor scratches on the passenger door (probably caused by finger nails, nothing deep). Instead of arguing with me he offered to buff them out. CONS - I can't think of anything. MY ADVICE @ If you need to kill time while they are working on your car, Alderwood Mall isn't too far. As I had 4 hours to kill, I walked there and back. It took me 40 minutes each way. Adjacent to the mall are H-Mart (Korean grocery store), Costco, and a couple of strip malls. @ As always, whenever you give your key to anyone, take pictures of the car. I usually take pictures and video tape the car. Although I didn't have to deal with it with Andrey, it's the only way to avoid your word against theirs. @ It comes with 3~5 days of curing time. During that, you cannot roll down your windows. Also, you may see some minor bubbles, but they are supposed to disappear. Once the curing time is over, I will post some photos. In August I had been rear-ended by a much larger vehicle and had it repaired by a local collision company. After all the repairs were completed, I had Metropolitan Detail put another wrap around all the areas that had to be repaired or replaced. Made my 4Runner look like new again. In late December I accidently rubbed against a large yellow post with my front fender, in a tight parking lot. Lesson learned - do not park near any columns. In January I had Metropolitan Detail buff out the yellow paint and restore the right full fender flare. Since I did not have time to take it to Metropolitan Express beforehand, I was able to have it hand-washed at Metropolitan Detail during the same job. I picked it up on January 13th, and it looked like it just rolled off the show room at the Dealership, but only nicer. Metropolitan Detail does quality work and I continue to go back to them to help me keep my 4Runner in a super nice condition. Thank you, all for taking care of my 2024 4Runner.

I found this place by reputation and they were competitive on price, professional, and knew their business. They helped me with ideas on how to improve the look of the car with chrome blackout and other aesthetic suggestions. They didn't charge much extra for those and really helped me like the look of the car better. They also did some extras gratis. They sent me pictures as they did the job and really helped me to get excited about their excellent work. I enjoyed the car for a year, did the proper care for it by hand washing regularly, reapplying the coating every few washes. Was really blown away at our 1 year appointment--they got a few stains out of the interior for a modest fee and now my car looks like new both inside and out again. The normal fee for the annual appointment to refresh the coating was $165 and they charged me just a fraction of that extra to take care of the minor interior stains and professionally condition the leather. They earned not only their fee but great tips each time I went because they far exceeded my expectations. I'm so happy I chose to give this shop my business.

They recently installed full PPF on our GR Corolla, and I'm still blown away by the attention to detail in the install. If you're looking for a reputable installer for PPF, ceramic, and tint, this shop is it! Not only do they do a phenomenal job on the install - their "post-install" support is the best I've experienced with any shop. The rental car is the icing on the cake and makes getting work done incredibly convenient.

I had my 2024 4Runner wrapped last January 2025 by Metropolitan Detail in Redmond. They did a…read morewonderful job and it looked better than I had ever seen it. In August I had been rear-ended by a much larger vehicle and had it repaired by a local collision company. After all the repairs were completed, I had Metropolitan Detail put another wrap around all the areas that had to be repaired or replaced. Made my 4Runner look like new again. In late December I accidently rubbed against a large yellow post with my front fender, in a tight parking lot. Lesson learned - do not park near any columns. In January I had Metropolitan Detail buff out the yellow paint and restore the right full fender flare. Since I did not have time to take it to Metropolitan Express beforehand, I was able to have it hand-washed at Metropolitan Detail during the same job. I picked it up on January 13th, and it looked like it just rolled off the show room at the Dealership, but only nicer. Metropolitan Detail does quality work and I continue to go back to them to help me keep my 4Runner in a super nice condition. Thank you, all for taking care of my 2024 4Runner.
