Masala dosa
Jie S.

Have been here twice despite the long drive from my house. Wish this one is closer to where I live. I loved fresh Dosa and Idilis which made from the rice and tasted fantastic when made fresh. A tiny take out place where the young cashiers speak pefect English but need to turn their heads to ask grandpa or grandma for any food questions. The first time, I only ate one plain Dosa and took Uthapam home. The Dosa was excellent: huge and crispy with the right chutney. The Uthappam was just OK when we ate at home. So when I took my son to this place second time, we only order the plain Dosa and an sweet pancake and ate those right there. He finished most of those so that says something. I loved both of them. The only thing is I forgot my coffee but they don't have the masala tea! Wish they could have some hot drinks with the tasty Dosa. Another reminder is that this is a Vegetarian place. i felt a bit bad when I asked them if they have the Goat curry to go then they told me they only serve vegeterian food. The mango curry tasted great when I reheated it at home.

Mysore masala dosa

Although very unassuming, this place is a little hidden gem for excellent dosas & South Indian snacks. It was my first time trying a dosa and I loved it! We tried the mysore masala dosa (filled with spiced potatoes) and the chili & onion uthapam. All had amazing flavors and came with a sambar (veggie stew) and a coconut chutney. There's also a variety of other curries, snacks, and desserts as well. The staff was pretty friendly and had good recommendations since it was my first time there. Also, since its mainly take-out, there are only two larger tables with a couple of seats if you want to eat there.

Great option for vegan/ vegetarian food . Authentic South Indian taste. Not a place to sit down and eat ; I would recommend packing and eat at home . The food has strong smell so be prepared for your clothes to smell of delicious spices!

For call-in orders you are put on hold and have to wait at least 15 mins before some bothers to take your order.

Great utappams, idlis, dosas, and subjis as well. The eating area is cramped but that compensates for their tasty food. I keep coming back.

TANDOORI TAKE-OUT…read more Our preferred spot for Indian food has amazing butter chicken & tikka masala, even though we're not sure which is which. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Every 1-2 months, my wife and I--having exhausted the other options of sushi, pizza, gyros, and wings--find ourselves placing an order at Kababish. This restaurant is located on Hassert & Route 59 in Naperville, and although they've been in business for some time, I'm stunned that I'm the first to review them on Yelp. The chicken tikka masala ($15) and butter chicken ($15) are equally good, but never labeled--the yellow one is distinctly spicier and uses large chunks of white meat, while the red one is sweeter with strips of chicken. According to Google AI, however, butter chicken is milder and creamier, whereas chicken tikka masala uses more spices and has a reddish color. We still have no idea. Garlic naan ($3.50) is perfect for mopping up leftover sauce, and they're kind enough to include a small bucket of rice with each entrée. Some places have the stones to charge you for plain white rice, even though it's absurdly cheap, so I'm glad that Kababish doesn't play those games. My wife also usually orders a mango lassi ($5), a yogurt-based drink with cardamom. We've typically ordered through Grubhub, UberEats, or Doordash (with the occasional in-person pickup), but the few interactions I've had with the guy at the carryout counter have been friendly. * TL;DR * This unassuming spot in Naperville has some of the tastiest tikka masala out there. For a while, we went to Sara's Indian but when we realized they were ripping us off (white rice was extra), we started giving our business to Kababish and haven't looked back. Sometimes the spiciness level of the butter chicken changes, but the deliciousness doesn't. The Indian food here is tops, they've made us lifelong customers! Highly recommended.

As soon as I noticed this, I called the restaurant and requested cancellation of the order. However, they refused and told me, "We will not do it. Come and pick it up." This kind of behavior shows a complete lack of responsibility and accountability toward customers. In addition, the food quality is often not fresh, and these actions appear to be intentional. It is concerning how such restaurants are allowed to continue operating without proper food quality inspections or accountability measures. I respectfully request the food department to investigate and take strict action against such restaurants, including Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen, to ensure customer safety, fair business practices, and proper food quality standards.

What bothered me was the overall vibe there. Been too a lot of Indian restaurants and one thing they have in common is they're typically very welcoming. I read a review saying the owner always greets them nicely. He didn't even acknowledge me coming in. The waiter was very nice but got me in and out very quickly. Didn't pour my water. The overhead music was more like a massage spa than a restaurant. Play some traditional Indian or Pakistani music. That's more fun. It just all seemed a bit uncaring. Food was good but would I come back? Not sure.

Sara's lunch buffet was delicious. We were greeted warmly by the staff, seated immediately, and were served warm naan fresh from the kitchen. As part of the buffet you get water and chai (both are self-serve). I wanted a mango lassi so I ordered one as well (not included in the buffet price). One thing I noticed was that all of their plates and bowls were Corelle. We use the same plates and bowls at home, so we loved that. Now on to the food: everything was kept fresh and was continually refreshed. The put out smaller, fresher portions from the kitchen so that nothing is sitting out for too long which was nice. I was able to get two helpings before I was stuffed. We also got a second order of naan, but ask the server since the naan comes from the kitchen, and is not laid out on the buffet tables. The price is great considering it's an AYCE buffet, for under $18/person. The buffet options included: butter chicken tandoori chicken aloo curry chana masala chicken briyani nihari (stewed beef) vegetable pakora basmati rice and more The buffet is great place to go if you want a variety of Indian/Pakistani food. I'm a fan!
