From the time we got there a little before 7:00 p.m. to when we left around 8:45, the crab legs were empty til about 8:30. So in the almost two hour time frame, the crab legs got restocked ONCE. Such a disappointment, esp since everyone rushed to grab some, so alot of people didn't get a chance to eat any. Luckily my son was able to get four clusters for the table to share. Our server wasn't attentive at all, had to ask him for napkins multiple times, ask for water refills , and no crab leg crackers or anything was given to us. Although I guess that last one didn't matter too much this time since there weren't really any crab legs that were offered. Authentic Jamaican served right in Chandler AZ. We were warmly welcomed upon entering the establishment. After weighing various options on an extensive menu. My wife opted Bone in brown stew chicken with a side of rice & beans and festivals. The wait for the food to served was reasonable given that it was apparent it had been made fresh upon being served. The fish was deliciously seasoned and lightly breaded. The escovitch sauce was the perfect complement for both the fish and the cabbage. My wife's bone in brown stew chicken was amazing as well the chicken was so tender it was falling off the bone and was perfectly seasoned. The gravy for the stew was plentiful and added an additional taste when added to the beans and rice. Portions were large with enough leftovers for another meal when we finished eating. The bathroom lights above the shower did not work, they would flicker then go off. The tissue box was empty at check in besides the tissue rose made on top. There were issues with the "mini bar" sensor at check in and someone had to come check on it later in the week. We didn't get service on some days of stay even with the "Service Please" Sign on the room door. The pool is open until 10pm, however the pool bar closes at 6pm and they had people exit their cabana rentals at 7pm. The drinks at the bar were severely over priced and mediocre at best. We paid $43 for 2 margaritas at the pool bar that tasted like blended water with a splash of margarita mix. The umbrellas at the pool had to be closed most of the time due to the winds, which also blew all types of debris and trash into the pools causing a bad look. One of our party was double charged at the pool bar, and they expressed that they could not reverse the charge and if they did it would take 7-10 days to return to the card, but refused to give us the extra drink because they couldn't serve more than 2 drinks within 30 minutes to the same person...even though there was 6 of us in the party and she was charged for 3 drinks, twice. Which could have been one per person in our party. The mobile bars within our evening reception drinks were higher priced in there than on the casino floor, so we all left our reception, to get drinks and come back. Drinks were on average $4-8 more than at the bar at the casino. One of the girls in our group personal cards was charged not only for the deposit amount for the stay but then the remainder of the balance for the first night and then again for the rest of her stay, causing her bank account to be nearly cleared out. For $18.99 (Monday-Thursday Dinner Buffet price), it's not terribly priced; but also, the food quality just isn't there to justify the price. A lot of the food is greasy, and left me feeling uneasy. The restaurant was extremely overcrowded, and the chairs were so close together that they kept hitting each other whenever people tried to get up or walk by. The music was completely inappropriate for a family restaurant. Some songs contained racial slurs and explicit language, making it an uncomfortable environment for children and families. The food was bland, lacked flavor, and had an unpleasant smell. Even worse, there were no clear allergy labels on the food. My father has an egg allergy, and we specifically asked an employee whether a dish contained egg. We were told it did not, but afterward, my father became seriously ill and spent two days throwing up. This was extremely concerning and could have been dangerous for someone with a food allergy. A restaurant serving a buffet should take food safety and allergy awareness seriously. Customers should be able to trust the information provided by employees, especially when it comes to potentially life-threatening allergies. Between the overcrowding, inappropriate music, poor food quality, and serious concerns about allergy safety, this experience was unacceptable. We will not be returning, and I would strongly encourage management to improve the dining environment, food quality, and allergy labeling procedures.

This place is awesome! It's been a while since I've had the chance to taste genuine Indian food. Since my trip to India I've been extremely critical of Indian food and found some decent places here and there but nothing like this. Driving through chandler I decided to stop for a quick bite at New India Gate and I can honestly say that it didn't disappoint. The staff is extremely attentive and the food is delicious. This restaurant captures the ambiance of a genuine Indian restaurant with classic Indian music in the background and polite friendly service. Often at Indian food restaurants the food is served in a horrid amalgamation of mixed dishes and sometimes it's hard to tell the difference from one dish to another. The food at this establishment was beautifully presented and although I did have to wait a little bit, the food was definitely worth the wait. I strongly recommend this to anyone looking for a true taste of India in calm and well kept setting. The owners where on site and they were very friendly which only added to the overall experience. This is an easy 5 stars. read more

It's tucked back in a…read morebusiness plaza and not really visible from the main road, so it definitely feels like one of those hidden gems that people find because they are specifically looking for great Indian food. We were clearly the newbies when it came to the menu, and I mean that in the best possible way. This is not a watered-down menu designed around the handful of Indian dishes most Americans already know. I actually had to pull out my phone and use ChatGPT to figure out what several of the items were, which ended up making the whole experience even more fun. One of my favorite discoveries was the parotta. I had never had it before, and the flaky, layered bread was AMAZING dipped into the different curries. My husband ordered a sampler platter and loved being able to try so many different things. It was a perfect way to figure out what he'd want to order again next time. The butter chicken was also incredible. It was not the typical butter chicken we've had at other restaurants. The sauce was thick, creamy, rich, and had such a great depth of flavor. Our favorite, though, may have been the parotta with the chicken Kongu curry (but wait... maybe I have wrong and it is Kothu??). My husband and I kept trying to explain exactly what made it so good, and the best description we could come up with was that the flavors were incredibly complex. Every bite had so much going on, but everything worked together perfectly. Our server was also so sweet and patient with us. She did her best to coach us through the menu, explain things, and help us decide what to try. We came in knowing very little about a lot of the dishes and left already talking about what we want to order next time. Such a fun lunch and seriously delicious food. We will definitely be back!

We split a masala dosa which was really tasty as well. But the PAROTTA was the star of the show!!! It was sooooo delicious. We loved the texture, it was a little crispy/flaky and soft at the same time. It went really well dipped in everything. The service was also great. Everyone was welcoming, the servers were very attentive and kind. The restaurant is kind of ducked off in a plaza but the inside was clean and spacious. 10/10 highly recommend checking it out!!!

Anyway, so we ordered samosas, pani puris for apps. Ordered a soda and a Gud vali chai. The server or owner, didn't look that of people's person - being in a service industry ideally one should be. That was a bit of a surprise for us. The apps came quick. The pani puri was missing flavor.. the samosas were amazing. The soda came in first, but for the chai, my husband had to ask 3 times. And it came in between our main course, which was not pleasing for sure. Maybe they are short on staff, there was just one other table occupied so wonder why the constant reminder for a cup of chai which usually comes first... We had put in the order for the mains. Chole Bhature and Puri Aloo sabji. Here's the kicker - we weren't served basic cutlery and napkins. When we asked the owner/server got it along with 2 plates and a snarky comment followed "the main course usually comes in a plate, so usually we dont serve it"... errr - we didnt really ask for a plate, it was just napkins and cutlery.. so mannerisms aside (which need to be highly fixed) --- the food - The food was good - it was different than what we usually get in AZ. The flavors were robust, different, not too rich to make you uncomfortable if you have errands to run post lunch and give you a carb crash. But just the perfect amount of richness. It's a decent place, nothing super fancy. You can walk in with shorts, a simple tee and have a meal and it'll be fine..Don't go expecting it's a fine dining place. I am giving it a 3/5 only because, while the food wtv little we tried (We did not try the non veg) so lesser points for that.. it was GOOD. As a hard core Foodie and loving all cuisines, I expect a lot more from indian cuisine. So the 3 points honestly is all towards the food. The rest, could be made up with the place being very very slow and sort of boring for a saturday afternoon... and the basic service industry mannerisms which need to be pulled up.

THE BEST chaat I've had in the states…read more I have not had a single dish here that I have not been absolutely blown away by. We started coming here after our previous Indian spot closed down (RIP buzzing cuisine) and I cannot overstate how good this food was. The service was incredibly fast and the staff are very kind, and it's actually a pretty large place seating-wise. As others have said, I also asked for recommendations and the advice I got was super solid (mostly trying to gauge their spice level). It's $7 for a samosa chaat. In this economy. I have gone there on my lunch break to just grab a cheap bite 3+ times at this point and we have had 3 dinners from here as well. Aside from the pricing, the food itself takes risks that pay off extremely well. I often find myself going to Indian spots in AZ and feeling like the flavors have been muted or toned down to be more palatable and enjoyable for all audiences. Chaat Express does not cater to the unseasoned tongue and everything you get here is bursting with amazing, authentic combinations of herbs and spices. The flavors are just indescribably good. When BOTH of a samosa's chutney sauces are delicious (and especially when the red sauce is not overly-sweet), you know you are in for a treat. Their curries are made with the same ideology: bold, flavor-forward, and delicious. In addition, their meats are always bafflingly tender. Whether you get their goat or chicken, it will be cooked perfectly. If you're not a meat-eater, their paneer is also great and the texture is exactly what you would want to expect. I've also had their lassi, rice, and naan. I really like the way they do their naan. It's buttery but not overly-buttered, and always very fresh. Their mango lassi is also perfectly sweet with just enough of a hint of that tanginess that it stands out on its own. And again, for $4 you cannot beat that value. TLDR: this place NEEDS to do well or I will lose my mind. please come here. i am begging you to not let this place flop

One of the first things I noticed was how insanely clean the kitchen was. You can see straight into it, and everything looked spotless. The staff was on point too. Most importantly, the food was really fucking good. We had Indian food in California just a few days ago that I thought was great, and this was right up there with it. The biggest difference for me was that Indian food will sometimes destroy my stomach afterward, and I didn't have that problem here at all. I'd personally love to see some lamb on the menu eventually, but I understand keeping the menu focused. The atmosphere could use a little more life--having some Bollywood films playing on the TVs would be a nice touch and give the place a little more personality. But the food itself was solid.
