Solid food and kind people. My go to is the Natapoc but I get it a tortilla wrap which is always great. This business is also a big supporter of the local community and has gone above and beyond including when flooding devastated the area. You should stop by and try them out. The Tesla charging station behind them is open to all EV brands so grab a bite while you charge up. Specials including the prime rib on the weekend are delicious and affordable, and don't miss out on the live music when they have it. Shout out to whoever makes the soup of the day as well, I always look forward to what they create. This business has a lot more to offer including lodging, outdoor picnic tables with great views, and is very family friendly. Cozy lodge style ambience and friendly staff. The food was great. I tried the bratwurst with fries and my husband ordered the cheddar jalapeño burger with garden patty. My husband loved his burger, he said the veggie patty was really nice and juicy unlike other places where it's usually dry. The bratwurst was grilled to perfection! The fries were crunchy. Starting off, I'm not understanding all these 3 and 4 star reviews with nothing to complain about or mention anything to improve on. So I see it as this restaurant should have a higher rating than yelp presents. The service was great, I believe the owner was our server and he was great. The atmosphere was cozy and warm and clean, that's all I can ask for in a mountain town. I also see some reviews about how the food was just ok or compared to bar food.. honestly some bar food is fire so not sure why that would be a negative comparison. I had a BLT and fries, my husband had the mushroom burger and we both loved our food, he kept talking about it after we left. We both came during the Leavenworth power outage so the power went out right at the end of our meal, the staff handled it all calmly and professionally so all in all it was still a good experience. I also have to add, per one review, we all were treated equally and with respect. I saw lots of different groups and types of people. We also stayed at the motel right next to the restaurant, it was nice, clean and quiet. I definitely recommend both the restaurant and the motel, especially when the hotels at Leavenworth are all overpriced and booked a year in advance. read more

We went here for Taco Tuesday. You get a choice of 3 ground beef, chicken, or cod tacos. We had the fish and ground beef tacos. They do not come with chips or a side dish. They come with sour cream and salsa. The ground beef was good but our favorite was the fish tacos. The ambiance is cozy and they have a big yard with yard games and a bar area. Came as tourists, hoping for a nice family breakfast to end our vacation, fully expecting greasy-spoon fare. Would have been better off going to McDonald's. The single waitress struggled with 3 tables. Service was nonexistent. The food took forever and, when it finally arrived, was cold and bland. Midway through the meal (which we ate in disappointed silence), we were rudely interrupted by an employee regarding a minor parking issue. He attempted to shame us by saying, "you should have seen the orange cone!" Sir, there was no orange cone. There was no signage. For a business that relies upon tourism, you sure do great your guests poorly. In the future, if you plan on enforcing parking rules, have your lot marked more clearly than the unmarked, free-for-all gravel mess it is now. As for the food. Snooze. Ridiculously overpriced and underwhelming. The ambiance is generic and inauthentic. For instance, the "wooden" chandelier is acrylic. Yikes. Squirrel Tree is the best restaurant in the area, full stop. We've never stayed in the lodging, so this review is about the restaurant. We love the menu with plenty of variety for fish, meat, and non-meat eaters. The indoors is spacious with roomy seating and the outdoors is also spacious. The attached coffee roaster is convenient and tasty. Parking is plentiful and the service has always been really friendly. We're surprised that so many people still don't know of this place. We were staying nearby at a rental house and came here for lunch. The restaurant has a great outdoor area, so we enjoyed our beer and food with our dogs on the lawn. Not a ton of shade, but they do have a small patio area that's covered. The staff is friendly. The menu had bar foods like hamburgers and nachos. We love to come here when we are on the east side. If you are looking for something fancy, this wouldn't be it though. The service can take a very long time also so be prepared for that. It's a fun place to eat and kid friendly. They play live music sometimes and have large inside and outside seating. Walked in and was greeted by a friendly young woman, then as we were sitting down another woman shoved a menu at my girlfriend, glaring without saying any thing. Then returned with a second menu, continuing to glare and a look of disgust on her face. We said nope, and left. The unfortunate thing is we are excellent tippers and friendly. We really enjoyed the food and ambiance here. 20 min drive from Downtown Leavenworth. The food tastes amazing, good portions, price well, and friendly staff. We ordered: kids meal chicken tenders and grilled cheese. We also got taco bowl salad, fish and chips, 2 sandwiches that came w fries. We also tried their blackberry pie made in-house. We decided to enjoy the evening so we ate outside and there was a live performance, a lady on the guitar with a lovely voice to entertain us. There was a lot of picnic tables on the grass, fire pit, corn holes, and tether ball. Which we all enjoyed playing while waiting on food and after. Next door was the motel. We reserved 2 rooms, one for my family of 4 and the other room for my brother with a family of 4. Each room had 2 queen beds. The beds super comfortable and slept great. The rooms are updated, clean, and well maintained. The pricing here was so much more affordable compare to downtown Leavenworth. The main reason we booked here. Highly recommend both restaurant and motel and will definitely return here for our next visit in Leavenworth. read more

We booked a night here to crash between ski days. When we did, we had no idea it was be in the middle of a snowstorm. We had to drive over Blewett and showed up 25 min before the restaurant closed. They were still happy to feed us a hot meal, get checked into our room which also had a microwave for us to use to heat up the ready made breakfast sandwiches that we bought from them bc we would be checking out before the staff were back. It's a 6 room motel. Was clean, recently remodeled. Had everything we needed for a night stay. Will def go again when we need a convenient place to crash between night and day skiing! Doesn't look like much from the outside... We stopped by with fussy kids after being ignored and dismissed at 59er. What a treat though!! It is beautiful inside, remodeled bathrooms, beautiful woodwork, friendly staff and delicious food! My burger was amazing, tots were crispy, chicken was delicious, cod was well fried and the sweet potato fries were super tender! The chips with the fish were cold and mealy, but we didnt mind because the rest of our meal was fantastic, the wait staff even discounted the entree because the chips were cold and uneaten. The room we stayed in was beautiful and newly remodeled, the food at the restaurant was incredible, and the hospitality of the staff and owners was absolutely outstanding. I randomly stumbled upon this gem and couldn't be happier that we did! Their overall service made me a customer for life! This wonderful place is nestled away in the middle of the forest and is a quick and easy drive to Leavenworth, which we made multiple times a day.
