The food is good, and reasonable priced... they have seats outside, which is great... We ordered: - Wings - Fish and chips - Chillies - Hot ciders & Coke The wings were sad and dried like it was seasoned with water, I couldn't finish it just because how dried it was. The chillies were not comforting, and the taste is a little off. Can't tell if it it's the seasoning or the meat itself, but the taste is quite bland and lack flavors. The fish and chips batters however were way too salty. I squint when I ate it. The hot apple cider is good tho, can't complain. The service were not great. We ordered a glass and chose the option to take the glass home (+10.50 more), they told us when we finish they can wash it out and wrap it for us. But when we brought the glass to them, they did not wash it, but instead just dump out the ice, give it a spray (not even proper wash off the greases!) and then called it proper. From the moment we walked in till the moment we walked out, no one care what we ordered or talked to us, feels like I'm at an abandon McDonald. Not great. Ambiance is average. Stein is a great restaurant for big parties and ease of ordering. The waitstaff is helpful and friendly. We had a couple mishaps with food and ordering which lead to the low stars :( When you sit down at the table, you order using a QR code at the table or choose to go to the counter and order. We used the QR code to order, which is connected to our table, and It made It difficult to modify or sub throughout the order. We then waited a bit for the food- the restaurant was extremely busy at the time of our meal. It also seemed like someone else used the QR code from our table because we started having drinks and food brought out that wasn't ours. This complicated getting our own food. By the time we received It, the bun of my Smoked Beer Brat was soggy. I also wanted to add coleslaw to my order rather than the sauerkraut. I had to go up to the counter to order It and still waited at least fifteen minutes for the side, at which point I just started eating my already soggy brat. On a crazy busy Saturday afternoon we decided to give Stein a try. They where able to seat us outside real quick. I will warn in the winter time they have heaters but its still super cold outside. I feel like they could crank the heaters up a bit. Staff are very friendly and with the qr code ordering you can place your order quick. I had the Jagerschnitzel with the poutine. The red cabbage was undercooked, almost raw. The poutine fries where good but it lacked in the cheese department with only a few small pieces. I really enjoyed they were open later than many nearby places. Weirdly that meant we could get food at 8:30pm on a Saturday when other places were closing up already. The food was fine. I actually really liked my smash burger but the fries were nothing special. My wife had a pretzel and it was also fine. We enjoyed the dog friendly patio area. All the staff we interacted with were personable and our waiter gave us two suggestions for where we could still get a beer at 9pm. Over the course of our 4 days there, we tried them both. Salty and a bit peppery with bits of celery and carrots. It does have a rich flavor but could do with less salt. A good rum & coke helps with that. I was not impressed with the Jägerschnitzel. The sauce had the consistency of a thick gravy with not a lot of flavor. Jägerschnitzel traditionally has a well seasoned mushroom sauce that is thinner than gravy. The pork filet also was not seasoned and the middle was not cooked all the way. My boyfriend and I are visiting his family in Washington and we took a day trip to Leavenworth. While I shopped with his mom, him and his dad came to Stein's for a beer. We later met up with them and quickly noticed how busy they are! The whole place, which is pretty large, was packed! But given that it was 3:30pm on the Friday after Christmas, this makes perfect sense. The ambience was great because it gave that cabin-y feel and everything was made of wood. The workers were all friendly and were able to help navigate the beer selection. I'm not much of a beer person, but I ended up trying their lighter beer and we loved it! We didn't order any food, so i can't speak to that unfortunately. They also have a nice selection of souvenir shirts, sweaters, sweatshirts, hats, accessories etc., of course, I have to buy a shirt and hat but it was worth it! A pretty solid spot for food and drinks! I came here with three friends on a Saturday night, and it was quite busy. However, the staff made an effort to seat us quickly, and we only ended up waiting about 15 minutes. The seating was on benches, and we shared a large table with other groups, which was fine for the vibe. We tried the fish and chips and the dirty fries--both were generous in size and perfect for sharing. The fish and chips were especially delicious! I loved the crunchiness of the batter and the tender, flaky fish inside. I also ordered a non-alcoholic warm apple cider, but it wasn't as sweet as I expected, so it wasn't quite to my taste. This is a great stop! We had our pup and so it's hard to find a place to eat. There is an out door area so we could have him with us. Our family stopped here for lunch during a weekend wedding in Leavenworth. The outdoor seating provided all the splendor of the town in summer weather. Stein has several featured menu items, perhaps the most spectacular is their humongous Bloody Mary in a huge glass mug, featuring a full bratwurst and a full pretzel (see the picture). Oh My Gawd, that got everyone's attention. My oldest son and daughter shared that drink while I enjoyed the Bratwurst with Sauerkraut, French Fries, and Bavarian Dijon mustard lunch plate (again, see pic). Excellent draft beer selection which is grouped by style (IPA, lager etc) and has a handy color coded guide for beers in that group. Good selection of German beer on tap as well. Barkeeps are very friendly and knowledgeable. You can get a "sample" at no charge if you have hesitation about ordering a drink-sized pour right off the bat. Food was good and easy to order off a QR-code menu; the printed menus may not be up to date so ask a server if you prefer the paper menu. The QR code menu was current/up to date on our visit. Tables are large and perfect for groups. Food service was very prompt, professional and very friendly on our visit. Menu prices are reasonable. Games to play and TVs to watch as well. That should equal fun for any age. Sasquatch gift shop (with Stein logo at no extra charge) is part of the establishment. We will visit again on a return trip to Leavenworth. read more

This was a very nice end to our day trip in Leavenworth! We shared the Bavarian pretzel which was so soft and yummy and the cheese dip was so good that we had to order another to share and accompany our beer. What's Tappening Stein?! Love that little slogan. I was up at the property by myself, and figured, what the heck- I'll just take a stroll out to Leavenworth and see what's up on this smoking hot day. It ended up being the Autumn Leaf Festival parade so the timing was right. Once the parade was over, I wanted to try something new, and that's when I came across Stein. It's new to me, as my wife and I usually hit up some of our favorite spots, but I've always wanted to try this place. Well Snitchel my wiener and slap my lederhosen!! Look at that wall of beers on tap! I believe there were 55 of them. And a stocked bar for some cocktails. I was an instant fan of the merch, as I do love me some Squatch. Anyhow, I ordered the Smash Burger and it came with Rosemary Sea Salt Fries. What a combination! The patties were juicy, fried onions on point, and that Bosket bun- wow! Those fries were something special. Due to it being about 104° out, I went with a stein of Red Raspberry Sour Ale, and man that helped cool my jets. A unique and delicious flavor for sure. Once I was done with my meal, the crowd began to pour in, and briefly shared a table with about 8 other folks. Quickly decided to move on back out into the heat. In doing so, I ran into some old friends I haven't seen in well over a decade. So cool seeing them. Overall, I had a great experience and would definitely come back again. Came for the mushroom poutine and was pretty underwhelmed. Not much flavor, definitely mushrooms in the gravy which was nice but lacked seasoning. I was able to find some malt vinegar and a salt shaker hidden inside that helped. It was a quiet day but walking by it during the weekend it was full loud even on the patio outside. We had the best time at Stein on a Saturday night around 6:30 - group of 2 adults and one child. We were worried it would be a long wait, but were seated in less than 5 minutes. Markus was so great and scored us the special table next to the arcade that is tucked away in a little nook - with the perfect view of the football game. We ordered at the bar and got an IPA, the CBD seltzer (yum!), the kids chicken strip meal and a Caesar salad with added falafel. The food was delicious! The salad had the perfect amount of dressing and an obscene amount of Parmesan. The capers were a nice touch and the falafel was flavorful and a nice addition to the salad. The food came out in about 5 minutes! My daughter enjoyed the chicken and finished her entire meal. We don't make it to Leavenworth often, but next time we are in town, we will definitely be back to Stein. read more

We popped into Stein last weekend around 1:30 hoping that the lunch crowd had died down but it was still pretty busy. It's open seating and there were 4 of us so took a while to find a spot we could all fit. I will also say the benches are super tight on the long tables so even being girls it was a bit uncomfortable. You don't have normal service here, you go to the bar and order. The food was priced about the same as anywhere else in town and we split several items. (Cheese curds, chicken/fries, pretzel) Everything was tasty and came out quickly. The food was so bad, no flavor! The concept of self service , self ordering and self seating is fine, but to ask for a tip is ridiculous to me. We had German poutine, basically cream of mushroom soup on fries with a few clumps of cheese. The beer soaked brat was flavorless and the blackberry sauce chicken wings were horrible, no flavor at all, kids chicken tenders were good sized, again, no flavor, the crispy chicken sandwich was dry and needed seasoning.
