They offer beyond sausage as a vegan option and you can veganize the pretzel as well. I'm a big mustard person, so getting access to all these options and applying it yourself is the reason I keep coming back, that and the endless sauerkraut. I tried the hot cider this most recent visit and it hit the spot. Theres always a long line when I come, but it moves quick and it's always worth it. Stopped by Leavenworth before heading to our campgrounds with my buddies raving about this place. Got Bobs Bratwurst and Hans Jalapeño cheese, both were really great! Portion was surprisingly larger than I expected too. They have a front patio, upstairs balcony, and large interior seating arrangement. The staff was on top of taking away dirty trays which was nice. Munchen Haus has consistently (for the past four years or so) been our first stop in town when we get there for lunch. It is ALWAYS busy so prepare for a wait. It is worth it though! I love that they've added more seating out in the street area, because they definitely need it. Love that you can bring your drinks out there too! We usually prefer to get a table up in the loft area with the misters and shade, but sometimes we don't get lucky. I've tried a lot of the menu at this point. This recent time though, I decided to build a Seattle Dog. 10/10!! You can get an all beef hotdog, and then add cream cheese and grilled onions as a topping. My only gripe is that they don't put the cream cheese on for you and you get a little container of it? I think that's a little silly considering it's a $2 upcharge. It was my first time visiting Leavenworth, and trying a bratwurst was high on my list. There are plenty of places to choose from, but I decided on Muchen House after seeing its strong Yelp reviews. I ordered the Big Boy Bratwurst. The bratwurst itself was flavorful and juicy. One of the highlights was the condiment bar, which featured about 20 different types of mustard and sauces, including sauerkraut. I topped mine with sauerkraut, mayo, onions, sweet relish, garlic aioli, and four different mustards: Chipotle, Dirty Face Amber, Sweet & Hot, and Smoky Garlic & Onion. I put a different mustard on each quarter of the bratwurst so I could sample a variety of flavors. I enjoyed all of them, although, to be honest, many of the mustards tasted fairly similar to me. The sandwich was $10.65 before tax, which felt very reasonable for a popular tourist destination. I don't know if I'll ever make it back to Leavenworth, so I'm glad I had the chance to try it. Honestly, this place feels way overrated. We stood in line for over 30 minutes under the blazing sun (about 90°F) only to then scramble for seats inside. Sitting outside was impossible - every table and bench was scorching hot. We went for the classic Kielbasa, which turned out to be nothing more than a regular hot dog for $10 - and unfortunately, nothing close to an authentic Polish dish. If I'm paying that much for a hot dog, I expect at least some resemblance to the real thing. The potatoes were very much hit-or-miss - I personally didn't enjoy them. Since the kelbassi was so thick, the bun split open, and my toppings were coming out. It's probably easier to eat the kelbassi with utensils. Other than that, the kelbassi is one I'd eat again.
