I have visited Headwaters exclusively for the Dirty Face Pizza. I am saddened that the crust was tough, chewy unlike crusts from previous orders. Toppings were so scarce compared to last month. We went Ziplining nearby and asked the locals where to grab lunch and Headwaters was recommended. it was a good recommendation because the food was on point! It's a pretty unassuming place - chill, a bit empty on a weekday afternoon but that didn't impact the service or the food quality. But the pizza was good and so was the fish and chips. We all loved the homemade fries sauce. Can't even replicate it if I tried. Appreciated the jokes on the walls and Tshirts of the staff. Hit the spot. Pizza was good. Nothing spectacular. My son and I came in to order a couple pizzas to go, but they would not let us sit in the bar or restaurant area because he didn't have his I.D. He was over 21 but he didn't bring his id. The girl was very nice about it but I find it odd that a restaurant/pub cannot let anyone sit inside the entire restaurant that appears to be under 21. Do yourself a favor and stop in before heading to the cabin or campsite! These guys have the best pizza in the area, we always pick up and go because we're heading to the water but their service is excellent and their food is outstanding without paying the Leavenworth prices. YES YES YES.... Just got back from Lake wenatchee and was happy to stumble into this place...... We go in and find the "CHEERS" atmosphere on our first day..... There is the table of like 8 people just relaxing and sharing the company... Tha bartender comes up to us as we had the deer in the headlights look as to not only the beer selection but the wide liqour selection..... We got our drinks, paid for them, BOY WERE THEY CHEAP..., and enjoyed their huge deck.... We went back the next day....Same 8 people around the same table...but wait a different bartender...Cool..... Until she poured our drinks, quite comical actually.... Loree had a Vitamin C and I ahd a shot of Powers and a Mac N Jack.... First she had NO idea what a shot of Powers was or where it was....Cool No Prob... When it came to the Mac & Jack that was high comedy.... She grabbed a bucket glass, grabbed Macnaughtons and Jack Daniels and was about to pour both in a glass.....I quickly got her attention and pointed to the tap handle right in front of her face...... OOPS she said....Sorry I havent bartended since the 80's was the next thing out of her mouth..... Out to the patio we went.... Our family and friend reunion comes to Lake Wenatchee every summer. Headwaters has usually been the place to have a drink and grab dinner for years. However, after this years terrible service and with the brand new bar at Squirrel Tree, we will be going to Squirrel Tree from now on for our drinks. As as waitress and bartender, I know what intoxication looks like and when to stop serving a rowdy crowd. The owner instructed the bartenders to cut us off from drinking after two drinks (mostly beers) and hid behind the counter as the poor bartenders had to deal with us wanting to know why we were cut off so early. Mind you, we had just had dinner here as well. They were treating the grown ass adults (30-60 years old) as children and placing water in our hands when none of us were close to being drunk. They seemed to be targeting the few individuals in our group who had darker skin as well, adding to the unwelcoming atmosphere. There was no last call at 9:45 when they decided to "close" even as they continued to serve extremely intoxicated locals more drinks. At 10 we were asked to leave and several of us went to the Squirrel Tree. Headwaters only has one pool table, one (barely) lworking electronic dart board, and low quality liquor. The bar is dirty and divey. The atmosphere is judgmental and off putting. The food isn't to rave for either. Don't spend your money here. I've been to Squirrel Tree twice for meals, once for the bar, and I'm going back tonight for another round of drinks. The bartender, Kent, was kind and astonished at the treatment we received at Headwaters. Squirrel Tree's bar is brand new. They have two pool tables, darts, and a fooseball table coming soon. The liquor is higher quality and they have a more stock of it. Plus, I really enjoyed their ribeye and fried pickles. Headwaters, I hope you realize how much business you lost due to your actions. Please consider changing if you hope to compete with your new competition. read more

We love coming to Headwaters and supporting their business. We make it a point to eat here at least once on our short cabin trips, or twice if here for a longer period of time. We were like, "oh well, won't go there again." I guess you just get used to people caring more about the almighty dollar than quality of service and community they're a part of. Totally five star! They didn't have to do that and it says a lot about their business ethics that they did anyway. They care, and that's refreshing. We'll definitely give it another try and like I said, the Dirty Face pizza was great! Worth the cost because it's just loaded with toppings. If they found a way to wood fire cook it I think we'd be in heaven. I'm grateful that they're so close by and I'm looking forward to more pizza nights in and a date night out with my husband or friends and family. Thank you! *New to the area. We ordered two large pizzas. One was the dirty face with no pineapple and the other was a pepperoni. Both cost just over 61$. Twice what you'll pay anywhere else. The dirty face was great. It was a 25$ cheese pizza. It didn't even have the slightest pepperoni flavor. That's not okay. Really rude actually. How does the person making it even justify that? I'd order the dirty face again but not the other. The pepperoni is the only kind my daughter likes so it was a big bummer for her. The average pepperoni pizza has 30 slices of pepperoni on it. Well....This may not be worth a day-trip but if you find yourself out at Lake Wenatchee enjoying the water, hiking around Stevens Pass, enjoying all Leavenworth has to offer, or running for your life from a pack of psychotic mountain people in the "most dangerous game" you may want to check this place out! I went to a friends lake cabin up at Lake Wenatchee for a bachelor party and after about 2 hours of shooting each other point blank with BB guns we decided that it was a bad idea to do this while we were sober (it hurts more). Our options were to dip into our stash of PBR and Schmitt, knowing full well that beer would die at the hand of some jerk with a BB gun (Sorry Trevor...that was me), or head up the road a spell to find the nearest bar and get drunk there. Well...Headwaters was a good 20 minutes closer than Leavenworth so...WE HAD A WINNER. I was skeptical at first and thought I may end up getting beat up, but this place was great. The have a huge deck outside. They have a pool table and darts. The beer selection was surprisingly good as well as inexpensive, and the food was great. As a double bonus the staff was friendly and one of the pull tabs had knives as prizes (which I vowed I would stab my soon to be brother-in-law with if I won. I spent $20 trying to win that knife! After we were good and liquored up our DD took us back to the cabin where I lost another $25 in a poker game. Wait...that weekend sucked. Next time I am up there I intend to dine at the Happy Clown Restaurant which is across the street. With a name like Happy Clown I am betting on at least 4 stars! read more

Broken? jukebox, same crowd sitting at the same round table every day, 40-some old ladies trying to bartend, the smell of grease, overhearing stories of silly mishaps and such from the regulars, jeeps galore. We were camped at the nearby Lake Wenatchee State Park, and this bar / restaurant is just down the road. We went there to watch a football game and were pleasantly surprised by the drinks and the food! Great appetizers and pizza! Once again we dove into the great tasting food as soon as it arrived so no pictures except for the menu. The pizza was so good we almost got one again the next night! This place could be a really awesome dive bar. Unfortunately the service is rude and very unprofessional. They have a standard practice of cutting people off and kicking them out for make believe reasons just so they can close the bar and go home early. I have definitely been cut off before at other establishments in my youth and rightfully so however this is the one and only place in my life I have ever been kicked out of before I even had a chance to catch a buzz. I often hear stories from locals that it happens all the time and even to large groups of people that are bringing in what I must assume is good revenue for this tiny back woods podunk bar. Terry the manager should look for a new profession as being a bar manager doesn't seem to fit his preferred schedule. UPDATE... I have been told that managerTerry did in fact find new employment. Perhaps as a meter maid or at the DMV. Just for this fact alone I am updating this review to 3 stars as a starting point. I will be checking back soon and hopefully they can earn a solid 4. Perhaps even a 5 but I don't hand out 5's like I do on Ebay so lets just hope for a 4. read more

Love this place. I had heard there was a decent brew pub in the Lake Wenatchee area, so we went to investigate. Brew was good; nice setting, warm inside (we are there in February); fair number of TVs to watch sports. But the most important aspect of this place is that it's located on the second floor and safe from floods! So when the Spring Freshet (that's French for big ass flood) comes, you will be trapped in the pub with the beer. And with the power out that beer will need to be drunk before it goes bad. So make sure you head here when the floods start. read more

When our usual standby changed ownership and went slightly downhill, we decided to give Headwaters another try. I went last summer and had a French dip - crusty hoagie roll, piled with deli beef (not real roast beef) and served with a salty side of au jus and some fries. I believe I started with a green salad - you know, the usual bagged iceberg blend. Slightly wilty, nothing remarkable. Pizza was good. This last weekend, we decided to head back. Same servers as last year - no complaints about service, it's fast and friendly and they really work as a team. The menu is typical selection of fried appies, sandwiches/burgers, and pizza. Pizza is definitely their specialty and it is loaded with cheese and toppings. I had a clubhouse which was their special. Two kinds of cheese, 3 kinds of meat (deli ham, deli turkey, and bacon - the microwaveable kind) and a mound of tater tots. Didn't really help me with my food choices (I'm on WW) but hey, ya gotta splurge once in awhile. The drinks during happy hour (well only) are $4 each which isn't bad, but the alcohol to soda ratio leans toward the soda. More soda than booze, which isn't awful but isn't amazing either. It's a good standard dive bar with regular food. Try the pizzas - they are surprisingly good and have a cornmeal-dusted crust! read more

We were looking for a place to eat on Labor Day and we found this place! The restaurant is located upstairs and is very spacious! The place was clean and all the tables were more than 6 feet apart which made us feel safe during the whole Covid pandemic. The waitress wore a mask and was sweet and the food came very fast! We got the chicken Alfredo pizza and Cod fish and chips and it was SO GOOD. Everything came out hot and fresh! The pizza had lots of cheese and chicken, and the Alfredo sauce was creamy. There were 4 pieces of cod and the batter was light and thin with decent sizes of fish! The fries were crinkle cut and perfectly fried! Their fry sauce is also delicious! Good pizza! Our burger was good, the bun was dry but it was still good. It's a cute atmosphere inside, the kind of place you'd expect for a bar up in the mountains. I work in the local area and I come here every Friday. The staff is friendly and knows me and all my coworkers by name. They take the time to get your regular order down and are ok with staying oen a little late to serve the needs of their customers. I love the local feel of this establishment and really appreciate their hard work and dedication to serving such a small community. I will say the food is not the best I have ever eaten but it is delicious to wash down with some beer. That's why I give this place five stars. I love the Headwaters Pub. I ride 100 miles one way for one of the best Pizza's in WA State. Commercial pizza oven, they make their own pizza crust fresh in house and make their own Italian sausage. This is a Cowboy, Biker, Salt of the earth folks type of bar. Friendly staff and interesting patrons. If your not friendly, open minded and like to eat at the Metropolitan Grill or complain about your servants not living up to your expectations, STAY ON the West side. The negative reviews I read are uncalled for. Where else can you find a place to eat drink and take a load off located inconveniently in the middle of God's country OFF the beaten path. Enjoy this diamond in the ruff and please patronize the Headwaters Pub. The last couple economic downturns put many of these off the beaten path establishments out of business. This place is terrible. We came to watch the Huskies play in the Peach Bowl on NYE and the workers were so mean. We were a table of 12 and we were told we could not order more than 3 pitchers at a time. We wanted to order a few more because the service was so bad! Then we were threatened to get kicked out because we hadn't ordered food. (We intended to but service was so slow we hadn't done it yet). Our friend then got kicked out of the bar for talking too loud. Another group showed up mid game and got yelled at for standing in their entrance while trying to figure out if there was a table for them. I just could not believe how rude the workers are here. The pizza was ok. They do not offer you water and they will kick you out at a drop of a hat. read more
