Inside has some really cool boutique stuff and I believe they also have some food I saw being brought to some other customers. Thank goodness for Rock House! We were needing a coffee and snack (plus the restroom ) and it delivered. First of all, the place is really cute and charming with an awesome little gift shop filled with toys, stickers, decals, jewelry and more. All modern designs. The Americano I got was perfect, and I'm picky about my Americanos. Bonus, they have all the plant milks. I also got a biscuit with jam and they toasted it so perfectly and it was delicious!! Food is great, Coffee is great. Restrooms are not clean, mens room has had the same tissues on the floor, dirty toilets, splatters on the mirrors and faucets, empty tp roll, and full garbage cans for 3 days. Sinks dont produce hot water. read more

For years I've driven past this place without stopping and finally I made the conscience effort to stop and that was my lucky day.... Why you may asked well FRANK will tell ya. First off I was in need of a new place to purchase my coffee beans and the dark roasted coffee named 'THE PICK AXE' and yes it's flipping amazing. I purchased some beans and then I was hooked. Now I order a 5 pound bags for my morning Java fix via there online shopping site or if I'm driving through the area I'll grab a 5pd bag. An exceptional bean when brewed it produces a very robust rich strong bold flavor that's perfect for the mornings. When dipped in the morning you'll experience a euphoric high with each sip. However the hidden gem of 97 Rock is the ice cream they serve OMG. My favorite is Huckleberry, and they also create milk shakes, so each time I stop through I treat myself to a Huckleberry milk shake for the road. This colorful delight of a shake brings out my inner child in me and dazzles my tastebuds with each sip.. " 97 Rock" is a great respite from that gnarly drive coming through the mountain pass so it's a great pit stop also. They have a nice covered back porch outback to enjoy a coffee or a treat or an even alcoholic beverage they serve. You can see why it's a great stop when in the area. We have been stopping here for a couple of years (at least a dozen times a year) back and forth between the east and west side of the mountains. I asked myself this time "How do they do it?" And"why the heck I hadn't reviewed this place?" We use it for a quick bathroom and coffee pitstop on the way over to the Eastside. And we stop for lunch on the way back to the Westside typically. The Rock is literally an Oasis in the deadest of cell zones and pitstops through Blewett pass. How many ways can i count the blessings? 1) fantastic coffee and tea drinks. They apparently roast top quality coffee beans. 2) Healthy and tasty breakfast and Lunch sandwich options. I personally like the avocado toast (yum with the seasalt) and the Cuban pork sandwich. 3) free wifi service in the deadest of zones. 4) great outdoor space in back for all ages, humans and non humans. 5) Gifts and merch that appears to be great quality. 6) A nice selection of local craft beers and wines in their fridge. 7) just some very simple but impactful touches. For example, Right now they have a Santa mailbox where kids can write a wish list to Santa. 8) the service is consistently kind and prompt. 9) bathrooms are clean and i appreciate the warm water from the faucets. 10) The big rock outside. A one and done for us. Nothing was bad about it. Customer service was good. The coffee was good. The food was fine, just coffee shop style. The location was off the path for us, we didn't mind as we were looking for some adventure. But be aware, their seating area is outdoors only. We went during winter and a cold, cold snowy winter! We should've chosen to eat in the car! We headed to the 97 Rock House on a recommendation from a friend who held their small wedding reception there. I can see this as a beautiful summertime venue HOWEVER for me, offering no indoor wintertime seating, even during COVID is unfavorable. The food was premade as you can see in the case. My husband's Cuban was sandwich pressed for serving. My salad was assembled in the back but was really just the basic elements and dressing; chicken could be added for $2.50 but they were out of chicken but could've substituted for turkey. My husband got an Americano which was good. 97 Rock has a really cute boutique-style shop inside their space. They also have restrooms and a water bottle filler. If this is on your path and you need food or a coffee, this is definitely a place to hit up. But don't stretch your plans to seek out 97 Rock House. read more

This is a cool coffee house and roaster located on US 97 near Blewett Pass at mile marker 178. Very surprising to see it as you are zooming by but you should make it a must to stop. I found a slice of heaven here! We've driven by this place many, many times and never stopped. Don't make that same mistake. They have a little of everything here. Sandwiches, coffee / espresso, beer on tap, wine, soup, and an outdoor seating area with a wood burning fire place (my heaven). You can't see any of this from the road at 40-50 MPH. For some reason we were not in a hurry this time so after we passed it, we decided to flip a U-turn. So glad we did. It was like a diamond in the rough. I guess I didn't know what to expect.... Maybe I thought they sold different kinds of rocks, or it was a climbing rec area. NOT. it's a cool little rest stop with whatever you might need. The staff was super nice and offered us a free cup of tomatoe soup after we placed or order because they were almost out of it. The rustic soup was amazing. I think they roasted the tomatoes and it had great flavor. It went well with the grilled cheese and grilled turkey sandwiches we ordered. We initially ordered to go, but ate outside by the fire (because I'm a sucker for a campfire... And in this case it was in an actual outdoor fire place with a brick chimney). They roast their own coffee beans too! I'll make this a regular stop when going over Blewett Pass. read more
