Had a short stay in Leavenworth during the week and looked for a breakfast place nearby. Bavarian Bagel was one of the few places that were open, and the reviews were spectacular, so I had to give it a try. Upon looking at the menu, it has some interesting bagel sandwich choices! They were a bit too pricy for me, and I wasn't feeling like eating that much on this particular morning, so my partner and I opted for a bagel and shmear ($5), and the "Alpine Avocado" ($7). We had the white cheddar dill bagel with chive & onion shmear. I couldn't taste the white cheddar but that dill definitely stood out! The cream cheese was pretty good, but not better than other places. The Alpine Avocado is a toasted bagel topped with smashed avocado, chili crisp, pickled red onion, and everything seasoning. We had it with a jalapeño cheddar bagel. Altogether, wooo this was delicious! My partner absolutely loved it. I really enjoyed it too, but might need something else creamy on it in addition to the avocado, to balance all that tang and spice. You are able to customize toppings on a bagel, which I think is pretty cool. I took a photo of the Build Your Own menu for you to view. Oh also you can get coffee drinks here! The cafe is small, so, not much seating, and they were very busy... but for all the hustle and bustle, I thought service was welcoming and it felt like they cared about each customer. I don't go to Leavenworth often, but maybe next time I'll split one of those breakfast sandwiches with not only egg, meat, and cheese, but also a HASH BROWN in it. Potato looove. Give Bavarian Bagel a try when in Leavenworth!

Get there early--these bagels fly off the shelves! By the time we arrived, the only options left were the vegan jalapeño cheddar and white cheddar. We got them toasted with butter (heads-up: the butter is a little on the sweet side, which didn't pair well with the jalapeño bagel IMO). That said, the bagels themselves were fresh and tasty. The coffee held its own too--we tried the mocha, cappuccino, and dirty chai, and all three hit the spot. It's a cute little spot right in the heart of town, perfect for a quick breakfast or coffee break. Bonus points for their fun cards and stickers--they definitely add to the charm. Plan ahead, get there early, and you'll likely walk away happier (and with more bagel options).

My friends planned a day trip to Leavenworth to celebrate my birthday and the one place I knew for sure I wanted to stop by was Bavarian Bagel. I LOVE bagels. I was receiving TikToks and Instagram Reels about Bavarian Bagel and how good the bagels/spreads are. Luckily, we arrived before they closed. We got there a little after 2:30PM and during the winter they close at 3PM, so we barely made it. Since it's based off first come, first serve, but the time we arrived a lot of items were already sold out. Given the limited options at that time, I decided on a sweet bagel. I ordered a blueberry bagel with strawberry schmear. The strawberry schmear was so GOOD. It wasn't too sweat and the texture was amazing. It was light like almost whipped cream. I would definitely come again if I was in the area.

Amazing bagel. Line was extremely long (I waited for ~50minitues) . Service was amazing and got all my orders right although they were busy. Will definitely get more bagels from here if I'm back in Leavenworth

After getting bagel sandwiches on Wednesday I had to stop back in before we left town to get more bagels! They are so damn good! Seeing as they had sold out of 3 flavors the first time we stopped in I was going to order them online the night before to make sure I got the flavors I wanted. However the only things you can order online are the sandwiches, sides, & drinks. You cannot place an order for just bagels and schmear in advance. Thankfully we got there less than 30 minutes after opening and they had not sold out of anything yet! Also keep an eye out for the bags of day old bagels!!

We had the absolute joy of stopping at Bavarian Bagel on our last morning in Leavenworth. We arrived around 9 AM on a Saturday, and there wasn't much of a line. About 30 minutes later, a more substantial line had formed, so I'm glad we got there when we did! The service was friendly and incredibly efficient, and the menu offers plenty of options. I went with the Summit Sunrise--a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich--on an everything bagel. The addition of spicy mayo was a fantastic touch, adding just the right amount of heat. I also tried one of their espresso drinks and opted for their specialty Raspberry Shortcake Latte. It was absolutely delicious, and I'm so glad I gave it a try. Overall, these were some of the best bagels I've ever had. They were clearly made fresh--soft on the inside while still perfectly crunchy on the outside. We were so impressed that we even took six bagels home! I highly recommend stopping by Bavarian Bagel on your next trip to Leavenworth!

My wife discovered this relatively recent breakfast bagel bistro in the "back streets" of Leavenworth on TikTok, I think...which would explain the rather absurd lines during its somewhat limited operating hours. It was our first choice for breakfast on our first full day in town, and despite being only about 15 people back, our total wait time, including line, ordering, and waiting for pickup, was about 40 minutes. Granted, this was on a Saturday morning, on the second Saturday in December, so we were there pretty much during peak pilgrim population, so that's likely a worst-case scenario. The wait was worth it, though: I had the Icicle Gorge Grinder, while my wife had her perennial favorite, the Lost Lake Lox, both of which were formidably sized, juicy and delicious, toasted lightly but still pliable - everything a good bagel sandwich should be! Well, other than the bill that accompanied them - expect tourist-y prices here, as my grinder was upwards of $17, which is pretty steep for a bagel. Good thing is was tasty enough to justify such an alpine asking price, as our two sandwiches and two small black coffees ran us north of $40 bucks! Very recommended if you can stomach both the wait times (I'm sure they're not nearly as bad during the work week, or the off-season) and the costs, because everything else about this cute little bagel nook is exceptional!

Very small inside. There are 2-3 small tables outside. Staff 10/10 Food 10/10 Service was great, food was delicious would definitely eat here again. It's been 7 months and I still think about the breakfast bagel.

Great bagels. Long wait. A little pricey. That pretty much sums it up. A ton of variety in the bagels and sandwiches. Honestly they were very good. If you have the time I'd recommend giving it a try. In total (getting in line to getting our food) was about 40 mins. I didn't realize my parking had expired and I did get a ticket from city so please be aware. Bagel sandwiches were up to $20 which seems pricey to me, but to each their own. Not much interior seating and a few tables outside. I think it's more so a grab & go type of place. Can be easily enjoyed walking along the riverfront park.

This is one of the best bagels that I have ever had! And their raspberry latte (special) was sooo good. The bagels on their menu were fantastic, but they also have a great selection of bagels and cream cheeses. There is not a lot of seating, maybe 1 or 2 tables, but they are efficient in getting you your sandwich!

Summit Scramble with bacon - on an everything bagel. DELICIOUS!!

I will be comparing every bagel place I visit to Bavarian Bagel from here on out! It is the pinnacle of bagel shops! My husband and I were staying in town last weekend. In the morning we were exploring "quick" breakfasts nearby. I discovered this bagel shop was just around the block, so off we went! We rounded the corner and saw a line, I was like well there it is, must be good! (DO NOT let the line detour you!!!) The morning we went the gal taking orders was also the barista. This made for a slow process with all the people ordering coffee drinks. Despite this, still a 5-star review. She kept up, and was very friendly. I ordered the Summit Scramble. It came with scrambled eggs, choice of bacon or sausage (I selected bacon), cheddar cheese and spicy mayo on a toasted bagel. (I picked the everything bagel). This was hands down the best bagel sandwich I've had, and I have had many! The bagel was so good, perfect crunch, bursting with the everything bagel flavors! The eggs were perfect and light. Bacon was thick and plentiful. Just the right amount of spicy mayo to give it some depth and a little kick! I'll be passing through Leavenworth in the summer and I will definitely be stopping for a bagel for lunch!! Wait in the line, you'll be glad you did!

Solid bagel spot in Leavenworth for breakfast and coffee. Decent parking nearby, very friendly staff, and good portions. Very limited seating. Check them out!

The bagels were amazing! Great service. It is a small inside but the outdoor seating is perfect and even has blankets.

I ordered the Healthy Hash and a chai with oat milk (so good), and they also had gluten-free bread and soy butter, which honestly made my morning. I'm also grabbing a Bloody Mary, and everything has been excellent. The vibe here is what really sets it apart: super chill, cozy, and welcoming, with genuinely friendly staff. I also loved that they have games and beautiful photography/art books out and available to use -- it's such a fun way to actually connect with your group instead of everyone defaulting to their phones while waiting for food. I noticed the sign saying they're celebrating 25 years, and I truly hope they're around for many more. Leavenworth is such a cute German-style town, but as someone who can be pretty picky (and with dietary restrictions), it can be hard to find a place I really love -- and this one delivered on every level. The wait here has always been long due to the size of the place, but today it was due to poor training and staffing. We walked in and these two girls are shouting at guests they are the only people working today and there is going to be a wait. Of course I sympathize. A few small tables are sat quickly but everyone else is told to wait. A party of 6 told them they were on a schedule and the waitresses told them it was fine. Being a small group we got sat, but there was a lobby FULL of people who stood there while we ate our whole breakfast. There were about 5 open tables but the waitresses didn't try to bus them and were running around like crazy and returning to the kitchen time and again empty handed. Eventually they shouted to the waiting area of people they were going to bus the whole restaurant (seriously) and seat everyone at once. Obviously no training here at all because the kitchen must have had no orders for 30-45mins and all of a sudden are going to get hit with a whole restaurant of orders at once so now the wait worsens - what a mess. The table of 6 that arrived at the same time as us was sat as we were finishing, but we never served. They left un-fed after an hour and a half. The food was fine but there was no excuse for the wait (forgot to mention this is a Monday at like 10:30 so not a breakfast or lunch rush happening, also not a weekend). This place has always been a dive and totally falling apart in regards to decor but it was forgivable because the food was good. I feel bad for writing this because those poor girls were working hard but they are completely untrained and the place was understaffed. Traditional breakfasts - heavy, buttery, greasy, meaty and decent portions. The food was good - but nothing really stood out. I had the chicken fried steak and the gravy was bland - no spice, or even a hint of pepper. For a waffle haus - the waffles were a bit soggy and didn't have that crisp which really holds syrup.
