Oh my! We stumbled upon Schocolat when we were shopping inside and noticed that there was a chocolate store inside. This was one place I had on my list of places to visit while in Leavenworth. It was a bit confusing upon walking in as you must walk through a store in order to get to it in the back. It's a small space. A family of 4 were there trying chocolates and placing their order. Another 2 people were doing the same. We waited a bit, but decided to leave and come back. Which we did. It'a hit or miss if you'll be able to get to the counter, but I'm glad we did. They are very small bits of chocolate, but quite yummie. I think they're worth every penny. We tried a couple and purchased a dozen. And the price wasn't outrageous. I would've gotten more but we purchased so many other goodies in the cute town. I definitely recommend trying this place out. If it's busy, then try again later. I would go back next time I visit Leavenworth. read more

Looking for some treats to bring home to our neighbors, we saw Schocolat on the map and decided to check them out. The shop is actually a counter at the rear of another store. We were greeted upon approach and offered a sample to try while we waited our turn. I'm actually not a big chocolate eater, but the sample was creamy and rich. Service was a tad awkward and slow, as a gentleman I assume was the owner was training young employees while the 2 of us and a few others were waiting. Quickly popped in as we were walking in dt Leavenworth. The truffles all seemed interesting and tasty and I was surprised to see that each was less than $2. I grabbed a few: passionfruit, marzipan, and a lime/orange truffle. All were solid and tasted great but the passionfruit stood out to us. While the sweetness of the chocolate was the prominent taste for the other truffles, the passionfruit had a lot of flavor and balanced out the white chocolate well. Found this place by trying chocolate covered almonds at a tasting room in Leavenworth and immediately knew I had to find this shop! I was on a mission to find those almonds but got pulled into buying a box of chocolate. The truffles are all handmade and very delicate behind a case. You can build your own box which is what I did and now I want to do this every time I visit town. The Earl Grey was my favorite! It's actually some of the best tasting chocolates I've had, and I've tried a lot around the world. But unfortunately, it's not very close to drive to all the time. It's actually a little over a two hour drive. However, recently my youngest, and her bestie decided to drive to Leavenworth during pandemic season. So she brought back some shocolats for me. Did not disappoint at all. So good! Chocolates are creamy, handcrafted, and just delicious! To be honest m, that's the only please in Leavenworth I like. I didn't care for a lot of the restaurants, I had better food in Germany. I don't care for snow, so I'd have to visit spring or summer. Reminds me of a smaller Solvang. If you have been reading, you know that Fried Chicken is my weakness but did you also know that CHOCOLATES are a close second? Shhhhh, let's keep that between you and me, okay? This past weekend, Schocolat was my destination. This boutique chocolate store shocked the heck out of me. I like Fran's, Godiva's, Rocky Mountain Candy Store, See's Candies, and others but Schocolat's handmade Bon Bons in a fine European style stole the show. The 9 piece assortment for $12.50, a reasonable price for fine chocolate. My batch? Rum Raisin, Salted Caramel, Sunshine Coast Truffle, Passion Fruit, White Chocolate, Toasted Coconut, plus a host of other names I cannot remember. Every single piece of chocolate melted deliciously in my mouth and as the outer shell disintegrated, a smooth, silky ganache center further blankets the tongue, pampering it with rich flavors like a relaxing massage to a tired body. BONUS: They offer to wrap & hold the chocolate for you there until later so it won't melt while you walk around the Bavarian village shops. That proved to be an excellent idea during the hot summer day and I was able to enjoy the chocolates on the ride home in its original, solid state. Last of all, just the name Schocolat is plain sexy and sultry, don't cha think? It's a small place but wow, so spectacular. You can ask for a sample of anything. They have all kinds. I am trying to lose weight but when the manager gave me a sample, I died and gave in along with my willpower. You can't go wrong with anything that you buy.
