After dinner I was looking for something a little sweet. Most of the bakeries were closed (5pm in the evening) so I decided on ice cream. Why not when it's 30 degrees outside with snow on the mountains. Followed my GPS, or I would have gotten lost. Legend is located in East Wenatchee,WA, across the river from my hotel. Not much to the building, on the left you have Legend on the right you have an oil change shop. There is not much parking, maybe 5 spaces (that I saw). They do have a drive through window but I did I not know what I wanted so I decided to go in. If the oil change shop was open there would be no place to park. So I got lucky. Walked into the shop and though I would see the mixers going making ice cream to order, but to my surprise they pre make a lot of the flavors and stick them in a freezer case. I was looking for the raspberry cheesecake flavor I saw someone post pictures of on Yelp but did not find it. What I found turned out to be better, blackberry cheesecake. They make the cheesecake in house and then crumble it up and throw it on the ice cream. Because it was sitting the freezer case for a bit it was rock hard. It was also a bit more than I wanted because I had no freezer in my hotel room. I did not want to waste the ice cream. The ice cream did not let me down. The flavor was well packed in the little cup. Love the fresh, whole blackberries. Large chunks of cheesecake. Creamy white chocolate ice cream base. Mi would love to try more flavors, just hope they make it fresh as I only ate half of my cup and felt guilty I wasted most of it.

On our 40-days road-trip from Chicago we stopped for an oil change at Valvoline - a non-planned stop and we got rewarded by Legend Designer right next door. Wow, excellent ice cream, very rich creamy and lots of deep flavor. They make arches throughout the day using liquid nitrogen.l and mostly homemade ingredients. We took with us a half pint of: 1. Aztec Treasure - chocolate, hint of cinnamon, espresso, and brownie - excellent. 2. Peanut Butter Explosion - generous thick swirls of creamy PB cookie dough - Delicious. So indulgent and so, so good. My husband, who is not a sweets fan, said: "if there is a National ice cream competition they should enter, they have a chance to win". The have ti start shipping ...

In the scorching heat with temperatures reaching triple digits we were driving from Wenatchee back home to Seattle. That's when we stopped here for some ice cream. And I am so glad we did! It's a quite place with 3-4 tables, husband making ice cream and wife taking orders. Very cute! They pre-make all the ice cream and store it in the refrigerator. After ordering just walked up to the refrigerator and take your tub. Even their smallest size is a pretty good size and shareable. When we were there they were making a fresh batch of the chocolate ice cream so we got to sample that flavor or else they don't allow sampling. I loved the Gold Rush wasn't too sweet, just the way I like it. Other one we tried was the chocolate decadence - it was good too , it had some bitterness to it. They also had ice cream sandwiches for the kids. The kids loved it! Overall, a perfect spot to visit on a sunny day or even when you are just craving for an ice cream. P.S. They even have a drive-thru.

What a delicious surprise!!! Pulled up and saw the ice cream shop on the left and on the right is a place to change your oil? What an odd paring and I almost didn't go in but I am so glad I did. Fresh homemade ice cream is made with liquid nitrogen?!! It kind of reminded me of gelato. I got the chocolate decadence which was an amazingly rich chocolate ice cream with pieces of homemade brownies and cookie dough. Will be back to try other flavors!

Came in on a Saturday. Warm day calls for ice cream. Coming from out of the area, we wanted something local which brought us here. The owner (I think) explained how they made the ice cream and how to purchase. Ice creams are made fresh constantly. You can't order by the scoop or cup from the menu. Just what is available from whatever they made that they put in half pint, pint and quart store in the freezer right next to the counter. There's also a drive thru :) We got the milk chocolate to share with our toddler as well as the caramel macchiato. The ice cream is made from nitro ice and is really really creamy! Flavors are also so rich, one of the best I've had! Highly recommend for any non locals to try :)

Half Pint of White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake

This is the place to go to for icecream if you're near the Wenatchee/Cashmere/Leavenworth area. They have a ton of different flavors to choose from so there's something for everyone. My husband and I walked in to get icecream and we ended up talking with the owner, she's the nicest lady!! She told us about how she makes the ingredients in her icecream from scratch and I instantly had to try an icecream with cheesecake in it because I'm a sucker for homemade cheesecake. I wasn't disappointed!! I got the white chocolate raspberry cheesecake and it was delicious!! Creamy and rich with raspberry jam and cheesecake bits! My husband got the banana cream pie icecream and he was so happy because the base is banana icecream and not vanilla like every other place. You can't go wrong here and I'm going to convince my husband to stop by before we leave for our trip home

Excellent service ! Met with a huge smile and left with some of the most amazing ice cream. Perfect way to end the day. Good selection of favors. Definitely will be back and recommend.

They were great and the ice cream is so good! We got the strawberry Rhubarb and the vanilla apple crust and they are sooo good!

Delicious ice cream and great service. Everything is pre-packaged, so it's more of a to-go style, no cones.

Sadly, many of them have moved on. But some still remain, and encountering them again is exhilarating. I always look forward to the hugs and squealing laughter.--"...where did you go and what have you done...? We've missed you!" McGlinn's Alehouse is the place we spent most of our time for the first five years of our marriage. It was originally the Orondo Tavern, built in 1922 as a solid brick two-story commercial building in the small town rural American style--big, open storefront windows on the ground floor, and small offices and apartments on the second, with tiny windows surrounded in iron bar planters. Such buildings have long narrow internal staircases up the right side entrance--one you'd never access unless to lived in one of those vaults upstairs. I finally returned to McGlinn's tonight. I had been meaning to, long before this, but there was never any parking in front --many restaurants now have covered sidewalk-cabanas out front--a code violation waved during the COVID pandemic. Inside, the left wall is still that half-block-long cabinet of all the liquor bottles you can imagine, multiplied in depth by the mirrors behind them. Down the middle of the room is one long continuous table that seats 14 people on a side--yes, strangers sit together. At the very back wall there is still, the largest brick open-hearth wood-burning oven you'd ever bake a leg of lamb and two pizzas in, at the same time. And down the right side-wall were six wooden tables-of-four, all sealed in a hard resin clear coat, as shiny and clean as they were vintage and rustic. I sat in the first chair at the first table, my back to the stairway down to bathrooms in the basement below the sidewalk. I had the Pulled Pork Sandwich with Tim's chips, a departure from the "John Paul Bacon Burger with pickled onions (McGlinn's is famous for). Ask to sit in Sadie's section--she's been there 20 years. McGlinn's has been there 34 years! What's not to like about an old friend! -------== ##### ==-------

We need to remember that the long-term fast-food restaurants are still around for a reason--they have perfected their performance over years and years. We often forget about them (I did) because they don't bombard us with hype, advertising and up-selling. But they offer solid value in a plain and simple format.
