Very nice bakery inside Dan's Market. We got the cinnamon bead, which made wonderful french toast. The pastries were also great!

Fine pastries, available at pastry hours (6am), at particularly reasonable prices. Skip the Danish place in town and hoof it 5 min.

Reminds me of the oldtime bakeries back home in New England. Exceptional TASTE, VALUE, and some good Grandma Lovin!

I saw cakes I hadn't seen in decades, the owner has the perfect German accent and the samples of the German rye bread will make you yodel for your own loaf to take home! I was so excited I completely forgot to ask for mine sliced! I guess I'll have to have irregular thickness pieces but the flavor is soo worth it! Great service super nice people!!

With my husband having…read morea German mother, he spent his childhood there, and we've perused several bakeries in town--this is the only truly authentic one. The bakery is old and small with limited seating, which actually reminds us of the authentic grab-and-go spots in Germany. We always go for the Bienenstich (bee sting cake). The server at the counter was really sweet and helpful; she cut us a big 'ole slice knowing we were sharing. We devoured that incredible slice, which delivered a perfect bite of creamy vanilla custard nestled between soft yeast cake and a crunchy, caramelized honey-almond topping. The contrast of the smooth filling and the sticky, nutty 'sting' makes for a truly memorable dessert experience, perfect every time. We also snagged a mini pretzel loaf. We were only missing mustard, but honestly, my husband said it was so good it didn't even need anything. It was fun to see the baker hard at work making bread, and the whole place smelled amazing. If you go, get there early--they sell out fast!

During peak times you may find yourself waiting in line for 20-30 minutes. The good news is the line moves quickly, and there's plenty to look at while you wait. The main line is for the incredibly tempting cookies and drinks, while a separate counter to the right is dedicated to food orders and is usually much shorter. Near the entrance, there are charming displays of gingerbread houses and detailed dioramas that serve as a fun distraction while you wait your turn. Once inside, the display cases are filled with an amazing variety of treats--cupcakes, cookies, cinnamon rolls, Linzer and gingerbread cookies, and many other delicious options. Everything looks so good it's hard to choose! We ended up ordering three cookies per person and happily stretched them out over the next few days. Before heading back to Seattle, we made one last stop to grab a to-go box for the road and for home. Totally worth it. Yummo! Also, there is a small Gift Shop all things Gingerbread.

Walking down the town's main road, Gingerbread Factory is one of the first whimsical storefronts that catches your eye. The owners also run Andreas Keller, the popular German restaurant just downstairs. The bakery has been around since 1988 and got a fresh remodel in 2011! The moment you step inside, you're transported to a storybook scene -- think fairytale cottage vibes with a faux tree, ornate wooden window frames, and cozy indoor picnic tables. The back room houses the main bakery counter, along with gingerbread houses, themed merchandise, and treats lining the walls. They offer cookies, cupcakes, croissants, ice cream, and more! - Coffee Chip Ice Cream -- one of my all-time favorite flavors, with bold espresso notes and rich chocolate chips. My family and I ended up playing a round of Catan at one of the tables. Such a cozy way to enjoy our dessert! The line moved quickly, and the staff were warm and welcoming. Definitely worth a stop for a sweet treat and a taste of gingerbread magic!

I got the savory biscuit and it was delicious. Super flaky, buttery and flavorful. It also tastes freshly made. I got the lavender and honey coffee and that was delicious as well. Not too sweet, good balance with the honey. Super quaint but small indoor seating area and a large outdoor patio makes a good hangout spot. Theres also plenty of merchandise inside the coffee shop too, and all seem to be of great quality which is a plus. My favorite thing about this place is the business model. Gratuity is not expected. It's listed that the workers there get a living wage and a percentage of the daily sales. More a reason to support this local establishment.

I ended up throwing it away since I'm not 8 years old and don't enjoy drinking whole milk in the morning. If you look at my picture that very light green drink is my matcha latte. The biscuit was surprisingly dry, I split it with my friend and we both thought it was mediocre. Maybe the Argonaut was having an off day, but it wasn't my fav way to start our day off in Leavenworth :(
