Mela Coffee Roasting is a good spot to get coffee in the downtown area of Wenatchee as it features all the classics and more, with breakfast items in an inviting space. I'm always down to support local, small coffee shops and Mela Coffee makes it easy to do just that. We visited Mela for some coffee and a light breakfast on a Sunday and the place was busy, but the line wasn't too long and we were able to snag a table in the shade outside of the shop. Inside, I noticed there was a stage area, in addition to lots of comfy seating, which makes for a great community space. I ordered a drip and my partner had the chai tea with spice, and we shared a breakfast burrito. The drip was solid and smooth, so was a nice pick-me-up. My partner enjoyed his chai, especially since it had more spice than sugar/a sweet flavor. The breakfast burrito was salty and good enough that the side of spicy mayo was unnecessary. Overall, if you're looking for a coffee spot in downtown Wenatchee, Mela Coffee Roasting is the coffee spot you're likely to visit and enjoy. I recommend.

Very friendly staff. A little pricey for a bagel sandwich and coffee. But I think everything is going up with inflation.

Busy lines they reached the door.

This is where the locals go I imagine. Very popular choice with great ppl behind the counter. Lines can get long on the weekends and you'll require lots of patience. I ordered a few pastries and requested them to be heated up. I thought they'd use an oven but they use a good old microwave. Hey, whatever does the trick. Great London Fogs and Espresso based drinks.

Cute place in downtown Wenatchee. I liked the rustic/brick decor inside. We both got an oat milk latte- they use califia oat milk. They were pretty good! Not overly creamy but I think next time I'd maybe get a touch of sweeter added as they did taste pretty strong for what I'm used to. The location is nice and in the center of downtown.

What a great place to start your day at. The team was super helpful and took our order fast. We had a nice seat by the window and the coffee and food was ready fast. My vanilla white mocha was among the best I've ever had. The breakfast burrito was warm and tasty. It was cooked beautifully and the dip added the right amount of tang. This is a great place!

Latte, unfortunately I drank half before taking the photo

When I'm in a new town I am always looking for the best local coffee to try. I love espresso and it's hard to find a dark roast with good flavor. This is the best coffee shop I have tried in years. Their espresso was dark and full of flavor. The baristas were very friendly and they had a lot of indoor seating with a lot of locals. If you're looking for a good cup of coffee, this is the place to go.

I visited here before come back from Wenatchee. I got Ethiopia yirgacheffe dopio and ice americano. Their coffee was fresh and good maybe because they roast their own. I loved that they have many single origin choices. I loved the drawings on the wall. I wish they open cafe in Seattle too. In my opinion, this is one of few do good specialty coffee.

First time visiting Wenatchee WA. It's a nice beautiful city/town whatever you it. I'm always a fan of going to a local cafe than Starbuck. I found this place when I was walking around the downtown area. I decided to go in and give them a try. The inside of the cafe looks decent and the atmosphere is warming, not too big or small and it looks very clean and open space. The best part I liked about "Mela" is they have a bar. They don't serve alcohol but they do serve non-alcoholic drink and foods. Friendly service, I order an expresso. It was alright, but I do like the drawing of my leaf. Only thing could improve if they actually said something about my drink was ready that will be awesome. They just left it at the counter, I was just sitting at the bar waiting with my friend. It wasn't a big deal I just got my drink late haha. I would go back there and just grab a drink and sit there with my computer or book and spend couple hours there.

    Such a great atmosphere!

When she brought out the dish, there were two large ones on it because they're normally larger (!) and she wanted us to have the equivalent. It was hot and delicious and between the three of us, we polished off 2/3 of it right away. I ordered the veggie pesto hash. Soooo yummy. I ordered mine without zucchini because it's just not a breakfast veggie to me lol. I did not notice or taste any pesto in the dish but the hollandaise was excellent on top. I tried their gravy to determine what bread I wanted (biscuit was an option) and it was so good. I'm such a gravy snob and this was quite flavorful with a creamy texture. I could barely finish my hash so I didn't touch the biscuit and gravy but our daughter will have it for leftovers this week. Randy ordered the pig and vine bene with hash browns. The bacon on his was crumbles instead of actual pieces of bacon so that was disappointing and he said the hash browns were cooked inconsistently with some of it being overcooked and all of it lacking flavor. Corina ordered the three meat hash and liked it a lot. She could only eat half - the portions are large - so more leftovers for her. This is a super cute place with indoor seating and what looked like a covered patio dining area. We will definitely be back.

Today was our second visit but the first to include food. We are in town for the week and stopped by for coffee three days ago and bantered a bit with the woman working the counter whose name we found out today is Amber. She's so awesome! I hope that business knows just how amazing she is and treats her accordingly. That first day we only ordered coffee and really liked it and the banter lifted us up a bit so that was cool. Today we went in for breakfast and coffee. She remembered us and everything unique about that first encounter. It was a good feeling after a crazy few days so that was wonderful. We also met Hannah who made the excellent coffees we had. We ordered a croque monsieur with an egg on top, a beirock (not sure I'm spelling that right), quiche and a morning bun. Everything was delicious! The beirock had eggs, cheese and bacon in it in a fully closed bun. That bun had such a good flavor that I would only order that next time. The quiche was creamy and smooth but the crust wasn't good. Our daughter who lives here and loves this place, especially their quiche (she says it's better than mine, lol) says the crust usually isn't as bad as it was today. For me, it tasted like it was microwaved (and maybe it was) and that taste and texture is not good. The filling was so tasty though. The morning bun was delicious. I don't normally love sweets for breakfast but it was yummy. The croque was fan-frickin-tastic and while Randy says he's had one that's better, it's not much better and he absolutely loved it. We all had tastes of it and loved it. We will absolutely be back next time we're in town and recommend you try this place out too. If you do, please tell Amber Bobo, Coco and Momo say HI!

Sadly, many of them have moved on. But some still remain, and encountering them again is exhilarating. I always look forward to the hugs and squealing laughter.--"...where did you go and what have you done...? We've missed you!" McGlinn's Alehouse is the place we spent most of our time for the first five years of our marriage. It was originally the Orondo Tavern, built in 1922 as a solid brick two-story commercial building in the small town rural American style--big, open storefront windows on the ground floor, and small offices and apartments on the second, with tiny windows surrounded in iron bar planters. Such buildings have long narrow internal staircases up the right side entrance--one you'd never access unless to lived in one of those vaults upstairs. I finally returned to McGlinn's tonight. I had been meaning to, long before this, but there was never any parking in front --many restaurants now have covered sidewalk-cabanas out front--a code violation waved during the COVID pandemic. Inside, the left wall is still that half-block-long cabinet of all the liquor bottles you can imagine, multiplied in depth by the mirrors behind them. Down the middle of the room is one long continuous table that seats 14 people on a side--yes, strangers sit together. At the very back wall there is still, the largest brick open-hearth wood-burning oven you'd ever bake a leg of lamb and two pizzas in, at the same time. And down the right side-wall were six wooden tables-of-four, all sealed in a hard resin clear coat, as shiny and clean as they were vintage and rustic. I sat in the first chair at the first table, my back to the stairway down to bathrooms in the basement below the sidewalk. I had the Pulled Pork Sandwich with Tim's chips, a departure from the "John Paul Bacon Burger with pickled onions (McGlinn's is famous for). Ask to sit in Sadie's section--she's been there 20 years. McGlinn's has been there 34 years! What's not to like about an old friend! -------== ##### ==-------

They came with rice and beans, however, that was five dollars extra. The cup of coffee was $3.95. So, all toll, the bill was just short of $26. I thought that was a little pricey, but certainly reasonable for a custom meal that's not on their menu.
