Squirrel chops has used its small space up well. They have a few tables and bar stools near the window. I think they also have a salon attached! Anyways, the barista is super nice and helpful. The coffee was pretty good, but not my favorite. I got a latte with vanilla. It seems like a lot of the people who come in are already regulars, which gives it a homie feel. Parking is really convenient since this coffee shop is in the outskirts of the busy side of Seattle. You can actually manage to find free parking outside of Squirrel Chops. Anyways, I think this place is worth checking out. Probably not good for big groups, but if your looking to get a little work done you might be able to snag a spot at the tables. I cannot brag on this cafe enough. The coffee and treats are so delicious. Trevor, he has saved my hair. We recently moved here from Texas. I couldn't find a person to cut my hair at a decent price. Then Trevor came into our lives. He is the best! He listens to what you want for a hairstyle and will give you tips on good food and music. I had such a great experience I sent my picky hubs to him. What a cool mellow place in the CD! The staff so nice & thoughtful. We chatted about our experiences resisting the autocracy. Coffee was smooth and grand, and the breakfast roll was buttery/brownsugary nums. Totally hit the spot for me. They do have wifi, and so far it's been just fine for my fairly needy needs. Seems like a great place to get work done, or just hang out on the internet, read, whatever you want to do. There's a set of full height glass windows across the entire front of the place, so you get some street ambiance and lots natural light in there too. They care about the beans they purchase for the shop and the care about each person they interact with. They are friendly, community oriented and fun. The shop also serves as a local gathering place for community meetings, dj nights, acoustic music nights, and celebrations. You will feel welcome here even if you don't share their hairstyles, love of dogs, or political views. They know how to extend beyond themselves to create a warm, happy vibe. A woman with curly blond hair working here interrupted my meeting by screaming at me across the room to keep it down (I'd said all of two sentences the whole meeting). After my meeting was done, I told her that I have hearing problems and asked her to just come ask me to be quietly instead of interrupting me mid-sentence across the room. She responded by calling me a jackass, got in my face and started yelling slurs about my genitals. Told me she works here and I could leave whenever I want, then she went back to browsing facebook. Extremely aggressive behavior, unprofessional. All she had to do was ask me. Too bad because everyone else working here was amazing, coffee and music were great. EDIT: The owner contacted me and apologized for this person. This person's behavior isn't reflective of the quality of the rest of the business.
