Tried out squid lips last weekend. Started out with a root beer float (alcoholic version). It was pretty good, but I couldn't see drinking more than one. Ordered some peel and eat shrimp. Well flavored and cooked perfect. Then we had a conch chowder, which was tasty. For entrees, we had scallops and stuffed flounder. Both were excellent. The restaurant was surprisingly busy for a late Saturday afternoon. The only real issue was the long walk out to the restaurant on the pier. Wife is mobility impaired. But that was because they are re-paving the parking lot. Once that's done, it will be much closer to park. read more

Great location, view and atmosphere. Service from our waiter, Chris, was excellent. Food was ok. I had the mahi sandwich, which was good but sort of dry with not enough flavor. The kids "lip lickers" with bbq sauce were not only super messy, but the pieces seem to have contained skin or some other chicken part besides breast (and kids are not crazy about that). The biggest disappointment was the raw clams - not shucked properly...supposed to take your knife and detach the clam from shell. This was not done and you had to scrape them from shell yourself. Additionally, they were not served ice cold. Some in the group had the crispy chicken sandwich, which was good. Otherwise, there was some food left on plates and discarded. Great spot right on the water. I came in at a happy hour time (3-6) good HH apps menu which included fish fingers, chicken tenders, fish dip and more.. I ordered the fish dip (mahi) it was very good; it came with lots of crackers , sides of onion, jalapeños, tomatoes.. Went here for first time while on vacation. Nice place. Had to wait about 5-10 min before getting a server. Fish dip was cold and came w crackers. Was expecting something warm w tortilla chips. The food was very bland. No flavor. We will give it another chance down the road, but service wasn't that great either. We weren't given any silverware, and the host pretty much dismissed my partner when she reminded him we were waiting for a window table, while we sat at the bar. The waiter was good, attentive to our drinks, but not to the fact we weren't given any silverware. Considering the majority of the clientele, the food seems fine, but for someone who cooks with spices, and has eaten at Michelle rated restaurants, from a scale of 1 to 5 the food gets 1.5 stars, the ambiance and atmosphere gets a 4.2, and the staff get a 2.5. read more

She asked if she could get a margarita with fresh line and he said, probably not, because all of our lines are cut into wheels and that would not work well for squeezing. Waters came at second request. Not a big deal. Extra ice never came. We went to the bar. Not a big deal. Had to ask for our check after waiting somewhat long. The assistant server did a great job. All three of us ordered the mashed potatoes for a side dish. The waitress did not tell us they ran out of mashed potatoes. When our food came, one plate had rice and the other two had French fries. When we flagged the waitress down to tell her the orders were wrong she just said they ran out of mashed potatoes. I ordered the stuffed flounder. It had a fishy smell and tasted frozen. My wife order the Bahama Mahi. It was tasteless and had the texture of cardboard. This was third disappointing meal at SquidLips. Never going back again. read more

First visit to the new addition to squid lips. Our server was Gio who was one of the worst servers ever. She got our drinks wrong, then she got one of the dinners wrong and was reluctant to admit, and replace it. She actually was visibly annoyed with us, and was unwilling to listen. The restaurant was not crowded, so her lack of attention was unwarranted. My friend needed her help using the handheld device, when he asked for help,she once again showed irritation. She was just not a good representative of squid lips. I've had so many good dinners and great servers... this was truly my most disappointing experience. My friends will not return there. This is a training opportunity that must be addressed. read more

Everything was SO good! We used the coupon from Yelp and had the fish sticks, they were super crispy and good. We tried the coconut onion chip.... AH mazing! Then we got entrees of bacon wrapped scallops and lobster Mac n cheese and both were great! The bread that came with the meal was lightly coconut flavored and really yummy! Save your time and money! Worst lunch experience while on our yearly vacation. The hostess asked if we wanted to sit inside or out under the heaters ... When we got outside the server told us that the heaters were out of propane ... but they weren't because my husband turned them on after we heard the server lie to another couple that they were out! Squid Lips in Sebastian is built at the end of a long pier, over the water; ironically, there is no outdoor seating, unlike their sister locations in Melbourne and Cocoa. They have a private parking lot with a fair amount of overflow parking. Despite not having a deck, they do have a wraparound open air/window seating which is still very nice; where you have the beautiful water views, fresh air, and natural light that comes through. The restaurant/bar is relatively average in size (not big, but not small), and I would agree with their branding, it is where the locals go. In comparison, Cocoa is much more touristy. They have the typical, but simply stated beach décor, with sea life adorning the walls and ceiling. When I went to the bathroom, I found it interesting to find a guest book located on the sink. Who does that in a bathroom? I was tickled by see that, and it was definitely memorable. Unlike the other bars/restaurants along the strip, I don't think they have any live entertainment. It was pretty low key. This was our last stop on our bar hopping tour of Sebastian, so we didn't have anything to eat, but we've been here before and had their steamed peal and eat shrimp & wings, which were both very good. They don't take reservations, so if you go, know that it is on a first come first serve basis. We have never had bad service, and the staff have always been friendly and sociable when they aren't busy. If you've never been, it's worth checking out. read more

We are visiting Vero beach this week and staying in Sebastian, Fl. The clerk at the hotel recommended this as one of the places along the river about a 12 minute walk from the hotel. We looked at Yelp to verify the quality and found it acceptable, an there was a free appetizer offer on YELP FOR US TO USE. SCORE. The chicken finger appetizer with honey mustard and barbecue sauces were tasty and a nice interlude to our meal. I ordered the lighter portion of grilled skewer shrimp with two sides and bread. My spouse had the seafood lasagna, lighter portion. Bother were plenty with the appetizer. It was happy hour and domestic beers were only $2. Another bargain. Our server was covering 6 tables and was not super fast, but we had a open window table and enjoyed the ambiance and birds diving for food outside in the marina. What a fun place! If you're on your way to see a rocket launch from Fort Lauderdale- this is the place for lunch/linner/brunch/dinner! Right on the water in Sebastian! And don't forget to check in; YELP has set up a FREE APPETIZER we got the fish sticks (to go because I checked in late!) and they look spectacular!! There's little shark along the pier and a ton of fish in the water: there's a coin station to feed them outdoors: so fun to watch. (So bring some coins) Drinks? They got them all: and they are good! We got the grand margaritas (they made mine skinny so I felt better about it lol) they were soooo good! We got here at 4-ish (launch is at 8 tonight) so no need for a reservation but this place fills up! Our food: We got conch fritters for appetizer- not bad but not our faves- Then I got the stuffed flounder with crab meat- it was very good (but not spectacular) but very fresh and tasty... and my partner got the single skewer of bacon wrapped scallops- and they were outstanding! And then: I checked in via Yelp ... and we got these outstanding fish fingers to go !! So don't forget to check in! We're so stuffed we couldn't get dessert!!! We had the conch, fritters. Barely any conch in them sad to say. Also had the mahi and teriyaki fish sandwich, which was good also had the fried shrimp basket and a fried fish basket they were good as well. What was terrible was how loud they had the music in there. The guy singing was just OK. It's terrible to go out to a restaurant and not even be able to have a conversation with your table mates because the music is so loud in your ears. You could see everybody having issues trying to hold a conversation because they could not be heard. That will definitely keep us away from there for dinner time. read more

The new Squid Lips location is insulting. The fish dip was meh, and the fish tacos had stale shells. The craft cocktail was gross, and the rest of the food ordered was under whelming. It was like eating at a gas station I've had better food at a food court. I just don't understand why it is so difficult for these restaurants to serve a good product. Oh, and the entertainment... I hope you didn't pay them. Basically, karaoke with some guy singing here and there and a backing track.. what a mess. read more

We had a nice lunch here while visiting lovely Sebastian. The Jamaican seasoned Mahi is well serviced, delicious and fresh. The yellow rice and sauces selections were nice. I take away 1 for the frozen veggies. Service was great Sparkel made great suggestions and super friendly checking on us and making sure we were happy with everything. Love sitting by the water having a cocktail and watching the dolphins play and the pelicans diving. We've enjoyed several good meals here and the service is usually very good. Fun drinks, good food and a comfortable atmosphere explains why it's always busy. New construction should make dining easier in the future, but already a must-see in Sebastian. read more

Doesn't this look yummy? We stopped in at Squid Lips for a quick drink and I ordered a White Russian. This is what I got, a drink in a fancy glass and a cherry on top. Not your typical White Russian but it was delicious none the less.
