Looks better from the outside than inside. It's a giant bar that serves food. There's no air conditioning. Great water views of Indian River In fact you're over the water because it's on a big pier. You can walk to the end of the pier and you can watch people feeding fish. The service was really really slow. The one redeeming dish was the Parmesan oysters. They were good. My husband, another couple and I went to Squid Lip on the recommendation of the couple and the employee at the RV Resort we are staying at. My husband and I ordered the Calamari and the Conch Fritters as appetizers. The Calamari was ok, but the Conch Fritters had little taste and were over cooked. For our entree's my husband ordered the Chicken Fingers Basket and I ordered the Mahi Mahi Rueben. My husband said his chicken was tasteless. I tried it and it was not good at all. My Mahi Mahi was not that good either. I could barely find and Sauerkraut on the sandwich and there was no Russian or Thousand Island Dressing on it. Again, the taste was very bland. The Coleslaw that I got had no taste. Others who got the slaw said the same thing. I had to request some Mayonnaise and sugar and it still didn't help. The other couple ordered the Shrimp Basket and the Shrimp Poke Bowl. The lady said her shrimp had no taste and the gentleman said the rice in his bowl was poorly cooked. My husband and I ordered cocktails. He had the Long Island Ice Tea. He said it was ok. I asked for a drink that was strong and the server recommended one of their specials for $10. I tasted it and could barely taste any alcohol. I asked for a shot. When I looked at my bill the shot was $8. I ordered their Key Lime Pie to see if the meal could be salvaged. The pie was good. All and all, for the price we paid we were very disappointed. However, the Service was very good!!! The server was very attentive and checked on us often. Stopped in after having a visit in Satellite beach. Absolutely loved the atmosphere and calmness of this waterfront dining. The weather was beautiful the restaurant looks updated and clean and well kept. Tried the key lime martini which was delicious! Food came out quick which is great because my little kids are sometimes inpatient. Food was wonderful and fresh. Wanted to stay and enjoy the drinks and atmosphere but had to go pick my dog up. We just left this location after finding a HUGE clump of hair hidden under my sautéed vegetables.. this was not just a single strand of hair or something accidental. My server came and took the plate immediately. We waited 10 minutes for someone to come back and unfortunately tell us it was indeed hair in my food. So happy they finished the renovations on the original Squid Lips in Sebastian! Being right on the water is always a pleasure in sunny Florida. The atmosphere, drinks, food and service (even during busy hours) was amazing. We had the pleasure of Travis taking care of us today and he did a wonderful job making sure everything was wonderful with an added sense of humor. The red potatoes were gross, tasted like salt. The stuffed shrimp sauce on top was like congealed, had a weird flavor and also very salty. I was just at the new squid lips in Sebastian. Met 8 friends there to listen to the band and have drinks. The music is so loud it is impossible to talk at all or enjoy the music. This might be why it isn't even half full on a Saturday night. I asked for the manager and told him we were all locals and come to Sebastian frequently but just can't enjoy the music blasting. And it isn't just tonight. We have turned around at the door and left because of the blasting music Several times and gone elsewhere. Sorry to say the manager basically said go somewhere else. Buz you need to retrain your manager. Obviously there is something wrong with this new facility. The food and drinks are good but people can't be blasted out by music that you can't enjoy. I ordered the Crunchy Fish Fingers for the table, it was the star dish of the night. I also ordered a platter of freshly shucked Oysters with garlic butter, heaven! The same with the Conch fritters, its a Florida thing and we enjoy them both. Delightful overwater waterfront restaurant. Crab n Lobster Cake was a surprise with a jumbo lump texture throughout. The Seafood Lasagne was excellent. A little extra salt and pepper helped bring out more of the flavors. The Coconut Onion Chips were spot-on according to our vegetarian diner but they are sweet especially when combined with the sauce. The dolphins and pelicans are fun to watch and the views of the Indian River Lagoon are idyllic. My wife picked the place because she wanted something on the water. I was hesitant because of her reasoning but I'm happy to say I was wrong. We got the calamari and our server, Kim, had recommended the bacon wrapped plantains. The calamari could have taken a minute more in the frier but was good. The plantains were great though. Wifey had the black cherry pepper pork. It was awesome. The cherry glaze was better than I thought and really complimented the pork well. I wasn't sure what to get so I asked the server what she recommended. She recommended the oak grilled Mahi. I can't remember what the seasoning was but it was awesome. It was cooked perfectly and had great flavor. The atmosphere was really chill and the breeze from the water felt great. They have some fish food dispensers on the dock so bring some quarters. My son loved watching the fish swarm. I really want to make an extra note that Kim was a great server. We're only in the area for a few days but we're going to stop by on our way home and hopefully she's working again. I want to see what else she'll recommend. read more

Squid Lips opened their first Squid Lips Overwater Grill in January 2004. They now have three restaurants on the east coast of Florida, located in Cocoa Beach, Melbourne & Sebastian. We recently dined at the Sebastian location which had begun constructing a platform over the water adjacent to the restaurant to add live music, and probably dancing. For sure a great place to lay back and enjoy the salty sea shore waterside along a relaxing ambience. The concept is fantastic, with a fitting name for the restaurant. Their staff has a humorous style, always attentive to the patrons. They have plenty of cocktails and beers to everyone's liking. We were 6 in the group and we were seated in a few minutes, amazing for Friday night. I searched the menu for the onion chips. Waitress said that they were taken off the menu. They were delicious and a meal in themselves. I went there just to order the onion chips. I changed course and got the seafood lasagna which was creamy and delicious as well. That along with a rum runner bucket I was a happy camper. Waitress was friendly and efficient. We all left full and happy. Every time we are in Vero we go here. It is in the ocean. It has a wide variety of foods. All of the staff is nice and knows about the different foods. Since it is on the ocean there is a pier. Many fish swim and you may food them, but do not feed the seagulls. They try to steal food from you once you feed them once. But now onto the fantastic food. Lots of the fish is at market price but isn't too expensive for the quality and quantity you get. I would suggest getting the bread, as every resturant does, it costs money but I believe it's worth it. As I said earlier there is an imminence menu that anyone of any age would enjoy. read more
