Really great food! Loved the Fish Dip and seafood lasagna. Casual dining and good drinks are the bar with live music.

The waitstaff was amazing the drinks were top notch you can't beet the view. But I'd skip the food. I took my girlfriend here for a date night and the food made both of us sick. Our waitress was so awesome and the ambiance so good is why I'd go back again. I just would eat before going and use it for a after dinner drink spot. read more

The worst dinning experience in Melbourne. Managment may be in industry a long time, but their handling of customers is absolutely the worst. read more

Stopped here for drinks and chickens wings sampler after a day at the beach. This was a good choice. Great service and delicious food.

When the parking lot for a restaurant is completely full and the public library next door is just as packed you know you're in for a treat. From the outside, Squid lips of Melbourne boasts the bright pastel colors of any other fish shack by the water, however once inside the the venue is anything but typical. The indoor seating is adorn with nautical decor with sprawling hardwood floors throughout. They offered covered seating that resembles a tiki hut as well as the beach/bar seating. (This is where the real party is. Complete with a live band and riverside seating.) The food was just as fun as the atmosphere. In addition to the whimsical drink menu, Squid Lips offers many food options with interesting twists. I myself had the Baja fish tacos with a side of Bimini bread. The tacos were fried to crispy perfection with a homemade chipotle sauce that gave it just the right amount of zing. The Bimini bread was served warm with butter and had the faintest taste of pineapple and coconut. The perfect side to go with a piña colada! They also have vegetarian options that include a hearty veggie burger. Squid lips is a party by the beach that offers everything you could ever want from a Floridian restaurant experience. If you haven't visited yet, you're missing out on what would be your favorite part of your vacation. read more

You can't beat the view or the coconut bread but our meals were lacking. I ordered the chicken breast with Jamaica jerk seasoning. It came with rice and a veggie. The sides were good but the chicken was just okay and did not taste like traditional jerk seasoning. Friends ordered shrimp baskets and fish and chips. When the food arrived the number of shrimp in each basket wasn't even close to even...not trying to be picky but 1 had about 20 and the other had about 7 . The fish and chip looked like a half eaten piece of fish, 1 shrimp, and a few fries. I think we were given someone's leftovers!! Not the greatest experience... read more

Squid Lips is a gem of a place! Every one of the staff was so friendly and welcoming! They were excited to hear where we were from and happy to tell us about the local favorites! We opted to sit in the bar area, and were treated so well! Our kids were with us, and the servers made sure to pay special attention to them! The raw oysters were delish, and the Mahi Reuben was divine! We loved this place and can't wait to go again! read more

We come here often and bring out of town guest. It's not gourmet but probably the best grouper sand which I've had on this coast (moved here from floridas west coast). The cox it shrimp are also very tasty. The ahi tune m app and the calamari haven't been my favorite (have had both at least twice) but the conch fritters are very good! Drinks are good. Service is sometimes a little slow but over all we always enjoy this place! read more

The food here is amazing. Our group had the conch, scallops, shrimp and blackened mahi mahi. Everything was absolutely delicious from the entrees to the coleslaw and even special conch sauce. I would definitely give them a 5 rating if not for the service. Our server was Bex. She took our order then ignored us the rest of the time, trying to get her attention was near impossible. Another server brought us our appetizers and possibly one of the cooks brought us our entrees. We finally received our drinks when she came by to drop off our checks. Never received the condiments we asked for, on the plus side it did make us try the sauces that came with the items but as awesome as the food was, the service ruined it for us. We won't return. If you want delicious food and can deal with bad service... this is the place to go. read more

It was my husband and I's first time here a Squidlips . It was such a treat. You can't beat the view, food and service. We came when the dining area was full and was seated outside overlooking the river and their extremely busy beach area. Despite the Sunday afternoon rush in the restaurant, Maria really took the time to explain the menu, guest favorites and her personal recommendations. I had the crab cakes and my husband had Cajun mahi with a side of delicious creamy honey lime sauce. We both cleaned our plates. Even the bread was a treat! We were so happy to hear about your coupons you send through email and signed up. We will be telling our friends about squid lips and coming back soon. We'll be asking for Maria again! Very impressed!! read more

This place is awesome. The outside seating area was lovely. The music was nice as well. Specials on fish dip, chicken wings and drinks was a complete surprise that we welcomed. Definitely will becoming back. read more

Atmosphere is a 5, but good is a 3 at best. Everything I've had such as fish sandwich, wings, and tacos have been just okay. But if you're going to have drinks and view the water then it's a perfect place for that. read more

The location is great but service is awful. Came here twice and both times exact same experience. Took 30 mins to get one beer. I blame the management, they always seems understaffed. read more

We eat here so often, we should probably has our own private parking space:) the food and service is fantastic...price is great too...

I'll start with how our trip ended...after an hour and 25 minutes, we left. Now, this is our experience. Arrived at 7 pm to a near full parking lot. After 5 minutes waiting at the hostess station, we were finally acknowledged. Hostess informed us of a 35 minute wait for a table AND an additional 45 minute kitchen delay. She said we could sit in the bar immediately. We found a table in the bar. Chelsea, our server, was very nice. We ordered coconut shrimp and bnless wings as appetizers by 7:15. Put our dinner order in a few minutes later. Chelsea was mostly distracted as she was exchanging gifts with friends at another table. Drinks were refilled once by 8 pm when we finally received appetizers. Apps tasted like they had been left over from yesterday. At 8:15 we overheard a bartender tell other customers that the kitchen was so far behind that they actually shut down the restaurant. No one mentioned that our dinner was not coming. No manager in site to apologize for terrible wait. At 8:25, I walked over to Chelsea and asked her to give us our check as we couldn't wait any longer. Here is the kicker after almost an hour and a half wait, mediocre food, and less than stellar service our bill was $36 for 2 sodas, 1 lemonade, 1 martini, and 2 appetizers. As we left, the restaurant was empty...clearly someone told others that they weren't getting their meals. Went to Bizarro Pizza instead. Much better experience. read more

I was so excited to go to Squid Lips...then I went there. It took an hour to get a table, which is understandable since considering how busy they were. Then, we decided to grab our own table, buss it and wipe it down because it was just sitting there vacant for another half hour. Then, it took another half hour to talk to a "server". Drinks didn't come for 30 minutes. Food didn't come for an hour and a half. Apps were cold as ice. Food was lukewarm and my pickle spear was warm....microwave? Terrible place. Very disappointed. Bill was over $50 for two people for a backet of fries and a sandwhich, apps taken off the bill, and two drinks. Way too much. Don't waste your time. read more

Went in last night to try this place out since the move to riverside. First thing I noticed was that the temp. inside was not very different than outside, somewhere in the mid to high 80's and uncomfortable. The appetizers were good, we ordered the stuffed mushrooms, crab cakes and bacon wraped scalops. The dinner was something else, Benegan's or Chilies would have been 150% better. We spent $153.00 for 4 of us and I feel we got about $60 of value. The redfish was tasteless saved by a small portion of crab cake on top . The snow crab clusters produced diarreha as soon as we got home. If you want to go out and have a nice dinner don't go here. This place seems to be primarily a Bar. Seems ok if you just want to hang out by the river and have a few drinks and some appetizers then go somewhere else for dinner read more

Atmosphere is good, especially for kids. Food was ok, with one exception, the oak fired fish was awesome!

My family and I ate there last night it was delicious. Sat outside had a great view of the water. Our server made some great recommendations like the Lasagna it was so good that it made up for the fact that they didnt have oysters. read more

We have been going to Squidlips for over a year and this past Tuesday was horrible. The waitress totally ignored our table and 3 other tables that were sitting in the outside deck area, not on the deck where you can sit by the water and she literally did not come back to our table for over 45 minutes and we had to go and get our drinks ourselves. The bartender told the so called MANAGER and he went and told the waitress we got 2 pitchers and never once came to our table to apologize for the service. The waitress finally came back to tell us she put the 2 pitchers on tab and again didn't apoligize or say I am getting you all a free pitcher or appetizer, not anything. For a manager to not come and ask if there is anything he could do is horrible. read more

Three of us went at the recommendation of a cop. Unbelievable! Haven't had such good sea food since I left Long Island... Great people and atmosphere read more

This place is awesome. There is actually 4 different sections within the restaurant. Each with it's own flare and attractive features. There is a more formal dinging area with a great view! There is a sports bar type area, an open bar area where the entertainment is and then last but not least the sandy beach area which is perfect for kids. The adults can enjoy the great view and the entertainment and the kids love playing in the sand after they have dinner. The best part is that the food is fantastic!!! You can join their mailing list and they send you great coupons! read more

Sad.......great location ....worst staff.....Monday night...no one there....5 minute wait before a hostess even greeted us , one of our party finally walked inside to the bar area, found our own seats. Informed the hostess she shrugged her shoulders and blew us off...ok fine...place looked pretty cool , live music, no customers hmmmm ... Why...SERVICE..BAM...THERE IT IS, BRITTANY , came to the table , clearly not impressed no "hello" just what can I get you ? We asked if they had drink specials..( here is the opportunity to upsell....) " ah noooo, we don't have any drink specials! " ( with a tone of disgust) ooooook....then, I guess I should interject here...I work in the service industry for 22 years, A SMILE EQUALS A PAYCHECK!! Yes you are paid to SMILE.! We questioned the beer prices...response .." We have a lot of beers " Ok we picked our drinks....she sealed the deal, drinks then OUT! Upon leaving the restaurant , I asked for a manager , I was told ( by the same staff , who never sat us , she would have to find him, after waiting a little bit, one of the waitress asked if she could do anything for us , a resounding ! " Yes ...find a Manager....the manager Brian ( I believe was his name) finally came over, he was shocked when I explained our experience with him, stating she was " one of their best servers", I'm not surprised they were so slow, word travels...he offered to " take care of us" but my goal was not free food my goal was to enjoy a meal, after a long day, pay for it and relax , we left Squid lips and headed north.....found Grillz.....and a happy Smiling Staff....thanks Squid Lips.....bad start fantastic finish...skip Squid lips head to Grillz....ask for Cynthia ( A happy , smiling, money making Waitress! read more

We will definitely come back to Squid Lips. The food was excellent and the wait staff was very attentive, warm and friendly. We had steamed and raw clams and seared tuna appetizers, all of which were great, and I loved the warm and sweet fresh coconut bread. We also had coconut onion chips, which were okay, but definitely our least favorite appetizer. The seafood lasagna entree was truly wonderful. It was loaded with fresh seafood and the lasagna noodles were light and not too thick. My husband raved about the Key Largo red fish, which was light and cooked to perfection. Our only regret was that we had no room left for dessert. And I can't forget to mention that they make an awesome apple-tini! read more

Squid lips is an awesome place for atmosphere but I would skip dining inside. We bought the groupon to try it out and the food was short of very bad. We got the stuffed shrimp and stuffed flounder. It was mediocre at best. Tasted like over priced tourist trap. The service inside on the other hand was very good. If I could give my best recommendation go for happy hour listen to the live music outside and order a few appetizers. We got the ahi tuna tartar and that was excellent. It's a fun place to meet people and great view but save your money and just do drinks and appetizers. read more

I have been here 5 times in the last year! Love love love this place! My last visit was April 22, 2015. The service and food were awesome!

Horrible. Smells like old beer, and decayed wash rags in bleach. The tables are sticky from the poor cleanly ness. Ordered mahi mahi and it was freezer burned. Never again. read more

I've been here 3 or 4 times for lunch and dinner. Each time I hope it will be a better experience, but it never turns out that way. The food is OK and the quality of the service is inconsistent. What it has going for it is its location and the charm of its decor. read more

Appetizers, bacon wrapped scallops were very good. My Entree (noodles, scallops, & shrimp was bland and dry with burned noodles. The coleslaw was dry and tasteless as well. However, the staff was very remorseful and more than accommodating. Management offered to replace the meal at no charge to make it right. I will try it again. My daughter's fried shrimp meal was very good! read more

Great place to go relax and have a drink. We always come after work and sit at the bar with Harley. She is the best! super friendly and knows her stuff! read more

I have been here many times and love the environment. The shrimp caesar wrap is AMAZING as well as the baskets.

Had heard about Squid Lips since moving here 4 years ago but never tried it. Boy, am I glad we did It is now one of my favorite restaurants. Beginning with the appetizers of calamari and the onion chips on to the entrees of Islamorada red fish, grilled tuna and crunchy fried fish, it was fantastic. All the sauces complimented the entrees. We chose to sit inside because if you choose to sit beachside you don't get a full menu which is reserved for the restaurant. You can get sandwiches and baskets if you choose the beachside. Dined here with hubby and daughter who was visiting. Will definitely make this a new go to place! read more

Love this place! Great music and love that you can put your toes in the sand!

The food at this place is always amazing. Here you look at the menu and just say Yes! Hardest thing is picking what to eat. It's hard to not keep getting the same dish but I am trying to try all of them. They have tons of specialized seafood dinners. Customer drinks are really good and the atmosphere for outside dining is outstanding. The view of the river with live music playing puts you in the right mood for a good seafood dinner. read more

Went here today with a group of 30+ older ladies and were presented with a "limited menu" of sandwiches. We asked the waitress if we could see the regular menu and were told we had to order from that menu. We told her we had been there times before and always ordered from the regular menu. She proceeded to go get the manager. He informed us that to accommodate his large lunch crowd that was the way it was. It was noon and it was pointed out to him that were a lot of empty tables. He was informed that with that being so we would not be back. When the waitress returned she said"Oh, are you staying?" Now, where would a group that large go at that time of day? We only had one waitress who did an adequate job but it would have been better with two. The food was good but we did not come in there for just sandwiches. Mr. Manager , you just saw $400.00 to 500.00 walk out the door. You could have at least said " I am sorry." read more

Terrible service. The waiters disappear for 15 minutes at a time. Do not go here if you want good service. The food is good, but I am warning you, the waitresses DO NOT check on you. You will sit there trying to wave down another tables wait service. 2 stars, only because the cooks have it down. The waitresses need to wake up. read more

My friends and I gather here on a regular basis! I love the food and the staff is usually friendly and quick. We will continue to come here.
