I called Craig because my iPhone 5 battery was not charging properly (would only last a short time and when I charged it; would jump from 4% to 55% in five minutes. Instead of replacing it, he suggested I be sure that it is the battery that is spent and not the software that is corrupted. I'm headed to the Apple store to do just that. Icracked came highly recommended from a friend. Contacted icracked, tech showed up the next day, screen fixed. I contacted them 11 days ago and a tech came to my house two days later. He was 45 min late, brought 'a friend he was training',and after being there an hour and having me sign the $196 quote was not only unable to fix my galaxy 6 edge screen but also informed me he now broke the back of my phone, as well. Said he'd come back with new parts and I never heard from him/them again. Icracked suggested I keep trying to contact him - no luck. Icracked apparently cannot get a hold of him, either. I haven't even been given the decency of a proper response from icracked as we're nearing the two week mark, my front screen has further cracked from his tampering and the back is newly broken. I've said repeatedly I'm not even looking for a discount I just want the issue resolved. This was so annoying I actually took the time to download this app to complain. A few days ago this lady at the airport in Atlanta bumped hard into me while she was running and I dropped my phone. When I got back to Chicago, someone told me about iCracked so I schedule an appointment. The tech guy later messaged me asking if we can meet somewhere closer to downtown because I live on the south side. I told him if I have to leave my house to meet up with him he would have to deduct some money and he agreed to taking $10 off. So I sent a few suggestion of places we can meet up at. Fast forward to two hours later, I never got a response. Just some minutes right before the scheduled appointment I texted once once again asking for update, then the tech guy finally responded asking me if we can reschedule for the next day, without giving me any reason as to why. I just went ahead to cancel the whole thing. First of all the all the main reason I picked iCracked was because I heard they come to you. Meeting you somewhere else defeats the whole purpose. Secondly, if you're too worried about safety, who said I am not worried about my own safety as well. The area I stay is quiet and I feel safe around my neighborhood as to traveling to meet up with the individual I'm not familiar at a place I'm not familiar with. I have never had my iPhone fixed by anyone other than apple, but my apple care is up and i was exploring other options. I asked to get a quote and was texted a price of 140 which is out of my price range. I responded by politely saying this and also referencing that apple had offered to fix my phone for 109. I got a response offering the service for a discounted rate of 125 and an emphasis on the convince that he comes to you. I work across the street from the Apple Store so this was not a selling point for me. I told him that I was just price shopping and wanted to see if I could get it done for cheaper, but thank you. He responded by questioning why I would want to use cheap parts on my phone, which is a valid point, but was coming across as passive aggressive. I preceded to say that I was going to get the screen fixed somewhere else and could he please stop texting me. I am new to screen repair companies and had been told by friends that I could get the repair done for under 100 dollars. Maybe this was an unrealistic expectation none the less he responded by saying "don't worry I won't I don't deal with cheap people like you".
