Great place to get poke in katy Asian town! Friendly service and they have a lot of options. Ordering was easy, everything was tasty and flavorful especially the sauces, I highly recommend and would come back.

Decent poke place in Katy Chinatown with cute interior decor and friendly staff. Portions for the scoops of protein are definitely small for what it's worth. Otherwise, they offer the usual toppings and sauces as expected for poke place. They even have spam masubi which was honestly pretty lacking in flavors compared to other places. They have complimentary miso soup for dine-in customers which is a plus.

I stopped by here to try their zucchini noodle alternative to keep a low carb diet. I did a create your own small bowl. It included two proteins, as many sides and toppings you would like. Each ingredient was displayed correct with additional price if need be. I also saw tiny spoons which I think are samples for sauces if you want to try before adding them to your bowl. The staff lady was very sweet and helpful. She was also loud and clear and gave some suggestions. The place was clean. I had mine to go so I didn't sit down. When I was home, the bowl was a bit watery but I think that's due to the excess water from all the raw zucchini and seaweed. The diversity of the food was a good mix and the flavors wasn't too overwhelming. I asked for less sauce. And the crispy toppings were still crispy! I really enjoyed the fact that there's a zucchini alternative and I hope more places have this as an option for people who are on a low carb diet. They also have edamame noodles, which I'll try next time. Parking is free and out front. But if it is a busy day, you may have to park at a lot next over by jcpenny. It's still free.

We were in the Katy area with friends and wanted a super light lunch after a night of heavy drinking. Poke is the way to go! They are the typical poke place and have a good variety of toppings, fish options and drink options! I forgot to ask for unagi sauce on top of the rice because that is so good but oh well! I'd definitely come back again- the place is super cute but parking is a nightmare with being in the same plaza as other restaurants.

Solid spot for affordable, high quality poke!!!! The spicy tuna and spicy salmon are great. All the ingredients are fresh. I like to get the rice and salad for a good balance lol. There are lots of different toppings to choose from, and they load the bowl up generously. They also provide complimentary miso soup that pairs perfectly with the poke!! The employees are super kind and friendly. The inside is clean and bright. Parking situation depends on the time of day. Overall, I highly recommend!!

Decent fish quality. We pick up poke bowls from Square Root around 3-4 times a year in our normal rotation of restaurants. The food portions to price is okay. The rice could use some improvement, as there have been some visits where they missed the mark. A loyalty rewards app would be nice.

KATY, TX / HAWAIIAN, POKE / 12-22-22 / TAKEOUT LUNCH +The quality of the fish was decent. No fishy smell or taste, which means the trimethylamine was kept at bay. +Plenty of toppings offered.

Great place with friendly service. There are a ton of wonderdul nearby food options within the Katy shopping center and this one is a favorite. Square Root Poke serves tasty Poke bowls with plenty of toppings and sauce options. Everything I've tried has been consistently fresh, and the ordering process is super-efficient. Notably, the space is always spotless and it's a pleasure to dine-in. Five stars.

Ahi Tuna Bowl

Square Root is one of my favorite poké places in Katy. I always enjoy their fresh ahi tuna... consistently great texture. They have a good variety of dressings and fresh toppings. I recommend their sesame shoyu! I also like that they have complimentary miso soup for those who dine in. I usually don't try other poké places in Houston because I always end up craving Square Root over anything else...

Another good poke spot. Probably not my top spot for poke, because they're slightly more expensive than my favorite spot, BUT they're a close second place. Good portions and fresh. The spicy ponzu sauce is good! I love the spicy tangy mix . Good service and clean environment.

Loved this place! Good portions and very filling. Stopped by for lunch on a weekday around noon, and was very satisfied! They had complimentary miso soup for those who dined in. The employees were very nice, and they were generous with the toppings! The salmon was very fresh too. The place itself is super cute! It was relaxing and quiet with some background music playing. Definitely a place to stop by for something quick!

Best fish in Katy! Great quality, the workers do such a great job. Fast service. Love the simplicity of the decor of the restaurant. Very relaxing and enjoyable place

I love poké. If I could have it every day I would, but specifically from here. Ive been here a couple times and I always leave satisfied. The service is great and I think the prices are reasonable.

Are single-use bowls and plastic utensils the only dine-in option? Would love to finally find an ocean-friendly Poké spot.

To my knowledge, yes. That's the only option. The bowl is recycled paper though. (I believe.)

The music is a mix of EDM, Hip-hop, Rap, and R&B. They have tables and bar top seating. If you have a bigger group, I'm sure you can find a table depending on the time you arrive. There is a lot of seating. To start off, I ordered the Matcha Martini. It was STRONG omg, definitely a sipper, but it was so good. It was creamy and had a good matcha flavor. I love how they added matcha powder on top. For drinks, I also tried their espresso martini and Bubbly Pineapple. The espressos here are good, no complaints. The Bubbly Pineapple is so cute; it comes out with a bubble of smoke you can pop. The drink is very refreshing; it really tastes like pineapple. FYI, the drink has little black seeds, so if you don't like textures in your drink, maybe this one isn't for you. Also the drink came with a little frozen pineapple you can add to your drink once you pop the bubble As an appetizer, I got a dozen raw oysters and decided to add the $5 tobiko (fish eggs). Let me say, they were not stingy with the Tobiko, there was so much on my Oysters, I mean a lot! The oysters were good, and so was the tobiko, but I feel that with so much tobiko, it kind of took away from the oysters. Still good though, especially for $21 for the dozen with the tobiko! It was very filling I'm not gonna lie, I got pretty full with the oysters, but I still had to eat my entree As an entree, I ordered the Short Ribs, which came with rice and a side salad. I didn't think I was going to eat much of my entree since the oysters had filled me up, but I ate the short ribs down to the bone! Every single one of those ribs I devoured, no meat was left on my plate. I didn't have space to eat, but my stomach made space for this. 10/10 would recommend the short ribs, especially with the delicious sauce it came with. I think it's like a fish sauce 10/10 for food and drinks. Bonus: the staff here is really friendly. I really enjoyed my time here. I need to come more often for sure, this is definitely a Katy gem

It doesn't bother me that it's semi-dimmed and small. The food made up for it even though my back was to the main entrance door. Good parking spaces. There was a waitlist but we didn't wait for over 30 minutes. Best bang for your buck AYCE sushi at $29.99/person and their menu is THICK. Even for someone who is used to sushi, it was overwhelming at first. The tablet made it easier to order without feeling so needy to the already-so-busy servers. Cheaper at lunch time but menu has less options, mainly no sashimi and only ice-cream as desserts. My favorites are chicken karaage, kanpachi sashimi, yellowtail sashimi, salmon sashimi, Cajun albacore sashimi, spider roll, Starbucks roll, baked green mussels, and their mochi (I got strawberry and mango). I got a lot more but those are my favorite and highly recommend for you to try. Final destination sushi rolls are majority of the people's favorite, including my server's. Eel sashimi is on a grill, which was surprising and good. Wasabi was lacking the spice and I'm not a fan of pink ginger but it's an AYCE so not complaining. What I do suggest you to do is to stay away from hot cheesecake and ice cream tempura. Unfortunately, they most likely use the same batter batch with their meats/seafood and they fry it with their seafood/meat oil so all you taste is mainly seafood, which is quite disgusting when you want your desserts to be desserts. I love seafood but that was gross. I still ate the insides. Overall, a solid restaurant for AYCE sushi. I like that the majority of their sushi rolls are half and they don't kill you with so much rice. Plus, you have an option to not get AYCE if you're not too hungry.

When ordering nigiri and rolls, be sure to ask for less rice b/c although the rice was cooked very well, the ratio of fish to rice was a little off. Service was okay, they did get hit with a big rush of customers after we sat down, so our server ended up forgetting a couple items. side note: idk if they can find a solution to this but the tablet that you order through is super bulky, heavy, and just took up a lot of space on an already small the table, which is kind of annoying for an ayce place. Maybe find some way to mount it on the table. Also, that sweet shrimp is just shrimp, we ordered thinking it was gonna be amaebi.

We got the roti canai and salt and pepper calamari as appetizers, and the sizzling tofu, beef rendang, CK teow as entrees. - Sizzling tofu (6/5): A MUST TRY! I've never had tofu with this texture before. The outside is slightly crisp and the inside so light and fluffy, it feels like bitting into a cloud. The tofu tastes like a creamy egg soufflé and the sauce is savory and salty with pieces of sauté onions that add a nice crunch. The presentation was also very striking with the server pouring the sizzling sauce over the tofu. It's just such a beautiful dish that I would go back solely for! - Beef rendang (4.5/5): Overall a delicious and hearty dish. The beef was very tender and juicy, and there was a generous amount of it. The potatoes soaked up the sauce very well and made the dish extra filling. I forgot if we got to pick a spice level, but the dish had a nice kick to it and wasn't overwhelming spicy. - "CK teow" char kway teow (4/5): This dish had a lovely char tasted to it that made it very addictive. Just a nice savory noodle dish. I think my only complaint was that the portion was on the smaller side - Salt & pepper calamari (3.6/5): This was a pretty good calamari. The calamari had a light and crispy exterior and was pretty tender and seasoned really well. The chunky veggies were a nice touch texture wise. - Roti Canai (3.6/5): the Indian bread was so nice and flakey, I could've eaten it alone. The curry was also really tasty and flavorful, just a little bit watery. Service/ambiance: Service was excellent and they gave us so much rice. The restaurant was dimly lit, giving it a nice ambiance for dinner or a date night.

The atmosphere is cute, the energy is good... and the volume is LOUD. We had two kids across from us screaming like they were auditioning for a horror movie, so conversation was basically optional. Not the restaurant's fault, but definitely part of the experience. Now the food? Genuinely delicious. My husband ordered the pho and ended up emptying two bowls of chili sauce into it -- and it was still on the mild side. Flavorful, yes. Spicy, not so much. If you love heat, you'll want to BYO fire. I ordered the tofu vermicelli and it was fantastic. Fresh, flavorful, great texture -- it just needed a little kick to make it perfect. Same with the spring rolls. Still, I was honestly thrilled to see a full vegetarian section on the menu. As a vegan‑who‑still‑eats‑cheese (cheese‑itarian life), having real options felt like a win. And bonus points: they've got a killer local beer selection. Plenty of great choices, and it pairs perfectly with the food. Bottom line: Corner 99 serves great food with thoughtful vegetarian choices and awesome local beers, but if you're a spice lover, you'll be doing your own heavy lifting. And maybe bring noise‑canceling headphones just in case the kid choir is performing again.
