The menu is pretty simple, not as large as some other poke places I have been to, but still has good variety. They offer three sizes and we went with the medium. At first the bowl looked a little small, but do not worry, she really fills it up. We were the first customers of the day and the place was spotless and very clean. The worker was amazing, very friendly and generous. She hooked me up with a big bowl of poke. I honestly thought I could finish it all myself, but it was way more filling than I expected. Definitely worth the money. We spent about 30 dollars for two people, which I think is very reasonable for the quality and portion. While the place looks nice, calling this experience a huge disappointment would be an understatement. We were served FROZEN tuna, which explained why the place was empty. I'm now concerned because fish that isn't fresh can pose health risks. Food Ordering: One of the biggest drawbacks was not being able to choose the ingredients directly. Everything was hidden in silver containers, so we had to pick from the menu without seeing them prepare the bowl in front of us. We chose a mix of white and brown rice. For protein, there were only five choices: tuna, salmon, chicken, tofu, and shrimp. It felt strange that only two were fish, and the other three seemed out of place for a poke bowl. You could choose between "marinated" (with sauce) and "naked" (plain) options. Lastly, we chose all the available vegetables, but the selection was limited since four other ingredients cost an extra $1. Even with the premium options, the variety was very limited compared to other poke places. Verdict: While some reviews mentioned generous portions, which is great, the food also needs to taste good and be fresh. The most important aspect of poke is its freshness. If the bowl were only 2 ounces and tasted fresh and amazing, I'd gladly pay $14 for it. Although it isn't our favorite, but it is definitely in top 3 best poke place in Houston. We made a custom poke. Their veggies, and salmon were very fresh. The servers were super nice and friendly and helped us navigate through the menus as we had alot of questions about it. Can't believe the name is Aloha Pike because it's scam. Not even close to Hawaiian poke. Understand the tuna is frozen not fresh but even the employees can't answer basic Hawaii poke questions.
