16oz Iced Spygirl Latte (~$8)
Aya E.

Ordered: 16oz Iced Spygirl Latte (~$8): lavender + honey latte Aya's take: I love discovering coffee shops in new cities and found myself at Spyhouse for my morning caffeine fix. I appreciate that this is a Minnesota roaster with a few locations that specializes in sourcing and brewing coffees. The Iced Spygirl Latte was up my alley with the lavender and honey. The espresso was bold and strong, the lavender was palpable in every sip, and the honey gave it that touch of sweetness. The cafe itself was airy, bright, and spacious. Excellent try!

The baristas were lowkey rude to me about my order, and they were out of 3 different items. My black tea was pretty yum and the inside was super cute.

Terrific coffee and great North Loop location. Cool building with a nice vibe and friendly service. I really like it here and strongly recommend for coffee. Giving four stars because of the food. I had a $9 egg bite last week that was very hot (temp not spice) and rubbery as though it had been over microwaved. Next visit I got a parfait (see pic) and noticed a hair in it when I got back to my office. I'll be back, but only for the beverages.

Love this coffee shop in Northloop neighborhood. Every time I pass by, I couldn't resist the cool vibes coming through the window. It's a great spot for mind wandering, people watching or hanging out with a friend. The good thing is you don't have to sacrifice the quality of food and drink in order to have the ambiance. In addition to the classics, I really love the trademark house-crafted. No flavor is over pouring, which keeps me coming back to try everything. So far I've tried the monkey bread, made of brown sugar, cinnamon, bananas, walnuts and chocolate chips. Really delicious! Definitely coming back for more.

Great study/work spot in the heart of Minneapolis, although there are limited outlets (there's one in their outdoor seating too). Tried their jasmine green tea lemonade and it was soo flavorful - absolutely loved!

Orange Vanilla Crush Latte

My boyfriend and I decided to have a coffee date on a sunny Sunday morning, and we decided Spyhouse was the place to go! We have been to a few other locations like the Uptown and Northeast locations, but have never gone to the one in North Loop. I LOVED this location, and I'll let you know why: Coffee: Spyhouse always has fun specialty coffees available, and I would recommend checking their Instagram to see what's available. We saw they had an orange vanilla crush latte available, and we new we needed it ASAP. It tasted fabulous, and mine had the perfect ratio of milk-to-espresso (admittedly Jake's spent "a little less time in the sun" if you know what I mean). Forewarning, if you make it to the bottom of this drink, do not drink it to completion! There were orange zests at the bottom that weren't too pleasant. Ambiance: this Spyhouse location is in a renovated warehouse style building. I thought it was absolutely beautiful. I believe there is another side to the coffee shop with more seating available, but we didn't check it out while we were there. We sat at the main entrance that admittedly was very crowded, but the sunlight and ambiance made it very enjoyable. I personally think the Uptown location is a bit dark inside, and the NE location is even busier, so this will definitely be my preferred location. Service: I didn't speak with the baristas too much, but they did kindly take my order and make my drink perfectly! Parking: this location is on the main drag of North Loop, so expect street parking. I honestly had an easier time finding parking at this location rather than the Uptown and NE location!

Cutest lil matcha.

Just stopped in here after a doctor's appointment and before work on a Monday morning. The interior is dreamy and totally transported me somewhere other than pre-winter dark, cold Minneapolis. It probably helped that I got to pet two sweet dogs while I waited for my matcha. The menu is written on a mirror on the wall, which looks really cool but could prove difficult to read. The name of their matcha latte is "GAME. SET. MATCHA." which is adorable. Staff was crazy kind and honestly I want to be friends with all of them. This stop was a day-changer and helped me start my day off on the right foot. Already thinking about when I can get back to this place. Forgot to say what I ordered - I got a game. set. matcha. with oat milk, which was $6. Would order again. So good.

Lavender latte on a cold day

Really large space! I needed a spot to sit and chill while I waited for my hair appt next door. I was torn on what to order and always appreciate when a barista can give me an educated answer to help me decide. I was the only one in line so I didn't worry about holding people up. It was a bitterly cold day and she suggested the lavender to warm up--perfect! Only one size is available for dining in. For such a large location that was surprising. Love the historic maps and aesthetic on the inside.

Ordered 4 iced lattes, all tasted like milk and no espresso. The baked goods have flys all over them. staff was friendly

I'm a bit embarrassed to say it took a global health pandemic for me to try Spyhouse, one of the most recognizable coffee shop brands in the Twin Cities. Like many, I've been limiting my in-person visits to stores and restaurants, choosing instead to support our local businesses through delivery. But on a recent early morning walk with my dog, I was in dire need of a caffeine fix. They're open 7 AM - 7 PM for take-out orders during COVID-19, which if you ask me is very impressive. Location & space: This location - open since August 2015 - resides in a contemporary mixed-use development that fits in nicely with the charming and up-and-coming North Loop. Mid-century modern is the vibe here, with statement gold lighting, gorgeous white marble counters and historic knick-knacks carefully placed around the airy cafe. It's layout and lack of outlets doesn't make it conducive to studying, but that's okay because there's plenty of other greats spots in the neighborhood for that sort of thing. I love their spacious side patio, which I've come to realize can be a rarity for coffee shops in Minneapolis Coffee: For $12, I was able to get a cold brew and 16 oz. skim vanilla latte in recycled cups. The cold brew was solid, with a robust flavor. The latte was a bit lacking on the vanilla flavor notes, but in each sip, it was evident Spyhouse uses high-quality beans. Service: I can't speak for how the baristas handle a busy cafe during normal times as I was one of only three customers at 8:30 AM during COVID-19 and this was my first experience. With that being said, the lone barista working during mwas friendly and prompt. A bonus for dog owners: They provide FREE dog treats!

I ordered a small mocha with oat milk with caramel drizzle. This drink is a 10/10.

I absolutely love this place, the setting is very peaceful, their music selection is amazing as well as the customer service. I will highly recommend this place.

They had a few cute items for sale, like momo merch, stickers and more. I got the black sesame latte which was strong but good. We also ordered potato and chive momos and they were decent. I think it could have used a bit more flavor, a bit starchy tasting. But the soy sauce helps a tiny bit. Would for sure come back to check out more. I was a bit shocked that they had to put signs on some of the lower tables for people to not put their feet on them. In a cafe/food establishment that should be common sense but I definitely get it. As it was busy it was a bit loud but I really like the vibes and aesthetic of this cafe!

The coffee was delicious and service good. My husband and I both ordered the seasonal "Shakespeare's Fool" which was delicious in decaf and regular. The latte art on top was a plus! The only downside or thing to know is that this location will not accept Spyhouse giftcards because it is part of the hotel. I came wanting to use one, so this was a bummer but I understand and the barista was very apologetic. As a side note about the business, it's impossible to check your giftcard balance online. So while I'd like to use my giftcard, I'm unsure if I will realistically be able to soon!

I think Caffetto kind of corners a market that no one else has by being open so late--most coffee shops are barely open past noon, and they're open until midnight! I've personally spent many a late night there finishing up work--it's a really cozy atmosphere, and the selection of pinball machines in the basement are the perfect study break activity. The staff are all great and even when there's a line, they get through it quick and are still able to offer great recommendations--while I usually prefer an iced green tea with no ice, I've tried the lattes, cold press, Thai coffee, and hot chocolate and have genuinely never had a bad drink here. The only thing is to make sure you watch your step if you're walking in the basement--even though it has seating and pinball and the bathroom, it's more of an unfinished space with uneven flooring and I personally rolled my ankle and fell there last year haha.

I love the coziness and the unique artwork in Caffetto. I look forward to coming back at an earlier hour to feed my addiction. But it's great to know I have a go to coffee shop for those afternoon cravings where the decaf tastes just as delightful! UPDATE- 2 hours later: there's additional seating and a pinball machine room in the basement, glad I went downstairs to the bathroom.

The miso cortado was delicious and really stood out, and they have a great variety of specialty drinks. The service was also extremely kind and welcoming, which I genuinely appreciated. Minimal decor, unfinished flooring, and no truly cozy seating made it feel less like a place you'd want to settle into for a while. While they encourage people to linger and don't offer Wi-Fi (which I respect), the ambiance doesn't quite support that intention. It felt more like a quick in-and-out stop, even though that doesn't seem to be their goal. The atmosphere was chill, with vinyl records playing in the background, which was a nice touch.
