Pick up window and outdoor seating.

I have come to the Spud Fish & Chips by the Edmonds Ferry Terminal both with my parents and on my own, most recently this evening, Friday 21 July 2023. My first time with my parents was after the location opened up here, and my first time solo was tonight. I arrived around 6:45 p.m. and found one open parking spot by the windows marked pick up window. Out front of the entrance was a sample menu, which I looked over before making my way inside. Ordering was a breeze and there was seating available, a chair of which I used while waiting. The wait time for my order to be filled was approximately 12 minutes, I got a cod fish and chips with a side of tartar sauce. Cod was flaky and had a thin and crispy exterior without being too oily nor over-fried. For the tartar sauce, it was smooth and I used the whole container when eating my meal. The fries were light and fluffy. All three items were flavorful. I liked the paper wrapping for the fish and chips, it held the fish in place in my to-go bag and made easy the items less messy when eating.

Don't often write reviews but - this place was lovely. We popped in for a quick to-go lunch while waiting for the ferry. The staff was happy and kind, I really liked the art work on the walls. Everything was clean and efficient. The food was really good as well, very hot, maybe a touch too salty (but like not in a bad way?). I will admit the tartar sauce wasn't a huge hit with the whole family, but it's not bad, just not our favorite. All in all, we were happy with our experience.

Halibut & Chips w/ the special Tartar Sauce!

This place is incredible. How have I been missing out on it all these years (and by years I mean 89 because it has been in biz since 1935!). Super friendly staff and nice, airy space. We ate outside. Had the halibut & chips and it was to die for. So juicy and crispy. Cooked perfectly and piping hot. I am in love. My partner had the fish sandwich & chips and it was outstanding. Delicious cod, so tender inside and crispy outside. Perfect blend of flavors with the tartar sauce & cheese on a pretzel-lookin bun. So good! Nice ambiance as one waits for the Kingston Ferry or the Amtrak in Edmonds. Don't miss it! And there is a Top Pot Donuts across the parking lot if you want something sweet.

Cod & Chips - heavily breaded cod, limpy chips; disappointing, not like the fabulous now closed Greenlake's location! (06/25/22)

Absolutely terrible. Over priced. Nickel and dime you for every sauce. Small portions. Terrible service.

Awful. Need to get taste out of my mouth immediately. Do not go to any Spud location except for Alki. WAY overpriced and very gross.

Overpriced and over cooked! Fish was dry and the clam chowder was horrible. I do not recommend this place at all.

We ordered an abundant spread, and every dish impressed. The clear crowd favorite was the Singapore black pepper prawns - fragrant, perfectly spiced, and completely addictive. That black pepper sauce was hands down the star of the meal: rich, peppery, and deeply flavorful. It was my favorite and could easily be eaten on everything. The Mala curry crab and XO crab were both outstanding; layered with complex, indulgent flavors. The Thai green chili clams and saus mentega clams were vibrant and comforting, while the crab fried rice had generous morsels of crab folded throughout the dish. We also really enjoyed the Indonesian chicken wings, which were crispy and flavorful, and the stir-fried vegetables, which added a fresh, well-balanced contrast to the seafood-heavy menu. Everything traveled well, was thoughtfully prepared, and made for an unforgettable catered meal. If you're considering catering from Marimakan Crabhouse, I can't recommend it highly enough. Get the black pepper sauce! Amazing from start to finish, and Chef V or Rachel is lovely to work with.

We've had their fresh poke several times and our favorites are the spicy ahi and traditional ahi, and their mac salad is similar to what you can get in Hawaii. Chirashi bowl has a great selection of maguro, salmon, hamachi, shrimp, and egg, all over sushi rice. There's a great selection of fish and we appreciated them cleaning and scaling our branzino that came out delicious on the grill. Prices may be a little higher than other markets, but you can definitely tell you're getting top quality. No seating available to enjoy your chirashi or poke bowls, but plenty of parking. This place can get busy on the weekends so suggest you go early to get the best picks!

One of my first meals after moving here was a poke bowl from this spot! I've been here almost two months and have already visited at least 4-5 times - I've lost count, actually, but I know I'll be back for more. This is already on my place to go treat myself for my upcoming birthday. I'm now totally addicted to their salmon dip. The pricing is reasonable (please don't change), which is fantastic, and the staff I've encountered have all been very kind.

Took me awhile to decide on what to order lol. Settled with steak bites, steamed clams, crab and artichoke dip, fried cod and salad with salmon. We loved the steak bites! The extra veggies of onion, peppers and mushrooms were delicious. Steak was tender and flavorful. Clams were meaty and tasted good with crispy cheesy bread to dip in that sauce. Crab dip was also good. My fried cod and fries was really good. Crispy outside and juicy cod inside. Slaw and tartar sauce were all on point. My friends salmon salad was really delicious too. Overall was a great meal. And we also had a slice of lemon cheese cake and salted caramel cake and that was all amazing. So happy to know the restaurant is still in business and good still tasted great. Will return soon

The first time we visited the Hook (more than…read morea couple years ago), I had some overcooked fish with bland sides and watched from the patio as a hit and run took place in the parking lot (which had nothing to do with the restaurant!). We left and never felt compelled to return. A couple days ago, on a lark and searching for some new-to-us takeout to meet our visiting family's lunch needs, we found ourselves again at the Hook. And what we ordered was so good. So. Good. I ordered the salmon burger, a juicy piece of salmon embraced in a toasted bun with simple lettuce, tomato, and mayo along for the ride. Some weeks ago, I'd had a similar sandwich at a reputed spot in Pike Place market. The Hook's was much better, and I have been thinking about ordering it again for two days now. Their fries were also some of the best I've had in town, and I'm not usually excited about fries. My family all had panko-crusted halibut (fish and chips style), and this, too was shockingly good. It was even tasty and crisp as leftovers reheated in the air fryer! (I know, I know, but who is throwing away fish in this economy?) I am but a humble Yelper and have learned my lesson. If, at first, your fish is dry, (maybe) try again!
