@Benaroya Hall...the Chicken Gumbo with andouille sausage and red beans/rice, green salad, loaded sweet potato, and iced tea
Marie B.

Showed up way too early for a lecture at Benaroya Hall, so decided to checkout Davids & Company for lunch. Upscale catering/cafeteria style, but on point customer service and incredibly tasty food. I was very impressed. The entrées ordered were $13 each and each came with a perfectly made green salad - fresh greens lightly tossed and garnished with a bit of Parmasan cheese. We selected the following: Beef Brisket with red beans, Pulled Pork with red beans (added drizzle of sweet BBQ Sauce), and Chicken Gumbo with andouille sausage and red beans/rice. The first two were inhaled, no chance for a photo. The latter was amazingly flavorful and generous with the chicken and sausage. Also added a Loaded Sweet Potato....bacon, melted cheese, sour cream and green onions ($5) and can of Coke and an iced tea ($2). There were also other offerings like entree salads, sandwiches, and a delicious sounding sweet potato bisque. Davids &Co was a great find at Benaroya Hall in downtown Seattle which was both convenient and delicious.

Wonderfully convenient eatery in Benaroya Hall. We park downstairs, come upstairs without our jackets, eat and head in for the concert! Perfect before a symphonic concert! The house red wine is ok!

I haven't been to Benaroya Hall in a few years and was sad to see that Wolfgang Puck's restaurant was gone. However, it was satisfying to see that the void was replaced by a modern, PacNW chic, and well designed little bar-style cafe called Davids & Co. There was no line so I decided to grab a quick bite and was acknowledged and waited on immediately (much appreciated). I asked to partake in the smoked salmon ceasar salad (to go) which was swiftly made to order using fresh local ingredients. The salad comes with a lite and unique ceasar dressing (Yum!), a lemon wedge, smoked salmon, a hard boiled egg and some delicious croutons. The lettuce is fresh and crispy, cut to the perfect bite size and shows no signs of wilt. There are also two types of cheese hidden within the dressing -- some chunks of cream cheese (YES!) and the standard ceasar dressing parm shreds. As carbs are my arch nemesis, I usually avoid nomming on croutons (Ha, JK), but the croutons involved here are better than usual and tasted freshly baked or like they were prepared by Keebler elves. Smoked salmon was on point and not at all fishy. It could maybe be a little less salty, but definitely had a nice subtle smoked flavor to it. I was not sure what to expect with the smoked salmon and was assuming the actual to be "real" salmon chunks, but it was instead the smoked salmon strip sorts of things -- That's not to say strips don't molecular-ly constitute real salmon, but it's more like the strip model gives companies license to serve you less and call it more (or good enough). This was exactly the unfortunate case in this situation as I was faced with two pathetic rolls of salmon (mouthwatering rolls, but still). I have no problem paying 13 dollars for a salad, but two rolls of salmon is really not enough, especially if you put the word "salmon" in the name of the thing. By that definition, you might as well call it "egg ceasar salad." I don't want to draw comparisons between this place and Wolfgang Puck's, but they used to have a grilled jumbo shrimp salad and, well, you can see where this is going... Also, I had a coconut cookie thingy. It had shreds of real coconut in it, but it was extremely stringy and not all that pleasant to consume. Bottom line: Davids & Co has great branding and their ingredients are fresh, but some of the way the ingredients are blended or prepared is questionable.

Service was good. There is no ambience as the tables are in the hallway at Benaroya Hall. The food was OK for cafeteria style.

Just across from the church, a lengthy queue of folks stood outside a dining establishment. We didn't know what kind of restaurant it was until we noticed the Filipino Christmas lantern/"parol" hanging on the window. After a week of cruising, we made it our goal to eat at this restaurant. Since we docked early in the morning and the restaurant opens at 7am, we did not wait that long outside around 8am. There were only less than 10 people in line. We only waited less than 15 minutes. There were at least 20 people outside by the time we left before 9am. The interior Filipino household-themed decoration brought back so many memories. White Chicken Adobo Silog | Never heard of this type of "silog" before. Silog is a Filipino dish combination consists of fried rice ("SInangag") and egg ("itLOG"). I got so excited to try it since it's one of the weekly specials' menu items. I was debating between this and Salmon Silog, but I've also never tried white chicken adobo. The chicken was succulent and tender, allowing it to flake off effortlessly with a fork. The generous helping of garlic fried rice was heavenly. Couldn't ask anything more from this dish. Turon | The wrapper were coated with almost like spun sugar instead of being fried in sugar, which made this turon not overly sweet. The plantain that was completed well with halaya filling was soft and cooked well. Menu: In addition to various protein/silog meals, there were also pancakes and omelettes. Service: Eating at this restaurant feels like home. The cashier and service were nice and friendly. We were also attended by Tito Greg the owner of the restaurant. He roamed the dining area, greeting each guest with humor and genuine humility. Parking: There's a big garage by Pike's, unsure how much parking rate was at the time. Since we just came back from the cruise port, we just from there to the restaurant. Highly Recommend!

It's a family owned Filipino spot, and boy does it hit the spot. I recommend splitting these dishes because our team of four could not handle a dish by themselves. All the…read moreoutdoor tables were full when we arrived at 6, so we put our name on the list for inside and waited about 30 minutes. The oysters were the main draw for me, and they were totally worth the visit. Old Stove serves them with a savory watermelon sauce in addition to a traditional cocktail sauce--eaten together, it's a flavor explosion that I can't quite describe. We also enjoyed the garlic everything fries, which were delicious! We just had to try a flight to sample the brews. There are some really good beers available here, especially the Belgian blonde, citra pale ale, and the stout. I did not really care for the seasonal sour (grapefruit, I think)--to me, it just tasted like a sour and nothing more, but someone with more interest in sour beers would probably enjoy it just fine. Despite the busy night, our server checked on us regularly and was very personable, stopping to chat with us about the local sports scene. There's plenty to look at, inside and out. If you can snag a seat outside, you'll get to enjoy the waterfront. Inside, the decor is industrial but fun. Not sure if this runs all the time, but when we were there, the tvs were playing vintage beer ads, which was quite fun. They also sell some pretty good t-shirt designs. Overall, Old Stove Brewing is the perfect combo of good location, good food, and good beer. Definitely recommend a visit when in the Pike Place area!

Outside seating is first come first serve and inside seating you have to see a hostess. We started outside and saw someone leaving and circle them like vultures. We got lucky, it was 4th of July weekend, so it was busy! We ordered pizza for the table and for my toddler. It was really good! He loves the pepperoni. My order was the salmon burger. They used a good slab of coho, nicely seasoned with a aioli. The fries were crunchy and nice. I shared with my husband and it was just right, since we had a bunch of apps at the market. We also got a round of beers. Or in my case I got their hard seltzer, which wasn't too bad, I would probably just get a light beer next time. Service was great outside! Also you get the nice breeze, they also had heaters on top. Picnic style tables and quick service!

I have seen the mouth-watering photos of these burgers and crispy sweet potato fries from this…read morerestaurant for quite some time. So I decided to try it out. Burgers are well constructed on paper and well photographed but lack any flavor. The burger appeared to be a preshaped frozen patty, nowhere near a medium temperature; nothing close to pink inside but not burned. Why bother asking?? I had a fig, arugula, and goat cheese burger. Sounded amazing. None of the veggies had any flavor whatsoever and the burger itself was mid at best. The goat cheese was the only thing with taste. Oh and the server was constantly staring at the girls passing by with hardly a concern for anything happening at the table or anywhere in his immediate vicinity . I can't say I can expect much more from a 21 year old frat boy with nothing to say but one liners. But honestly I don't really care about that much. Is what it is. I was most offended by the sharp contrast between image and taste. This is an extremely generic pseudo-gastropub with subpar food, an okay beer list, and a great photographer. Instagram restaurant? Wrong priorities in my opinion. Save yourself the time and if you want a good burger go to Big Time. I hear shake shack is good too. They did have a dog-friendly patio and were mostly cordial. I appreciated that.
