Service friendly and prompt Order kids fish n chips. 3 pieces of rock fish n chips and two orders of mushrooms. Mushrooms are bad. They are cut in haves my guess frozen due to texture. Crispy outside but inside soft slimy and just over all not good. Never again I had the rock fish. Hot crispy the gentleman described it has savoury. Definitely more of an ocean taste. I can't say fishy because it's fish. Nothing bad but a little more seafood flavour than typical cod What I did not like was that you pay for tartar and ranch for both mushroom and fish. One complimentary would have been nice. Will I be back? I doubt it. Ivars is my go to. I've been to Spunds when I was young to Greenlake Alki and Juanita. Just not as I remember. Definitely more commercial feel. Again staff outstanding read more

Spud was such a great lunch spot--we left full, happy, and already talking about coming back. Everything tasted super fresh and flavorful, especially with their house sauces. We ordered a mix of items (highly recommend doing this), and while the cod, calamari, prawns, and chowder were all amazing, the mushrooms completely stole the show. Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside--easily my new favorite side. The location is a huge bonus--right by the water and ferry, which makes the whole experience feel even better. Inside is clean, spacious, and well-decorated, perfect for groups or a casual lunch outing without breaking the bank. Service was excellent--friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful with recommendations. You can tell they care about the experience. read more

The fish and clam chowder was very good, but they should not charge extra for tartar. Therefore, I will not be coming back tartar. Should come with fish and chips at least one if they wanna charge for the second or third one then so be it but not the first one. read more

Just finished our after Edmonds Marina walk with a delicious triple fish and fries with a side of Cole slaw! It did not disappearing fact all was exceptionally delicious! The batter on the fish was light and crispy just how fish should be. I was able to order on a kiosk which was very nice and easy. So excited to see a loyalty program now too! Of course I signed up for it!! They were busy and all smiling away. Love coming here so much! Thank you! read more

$26 for three pieces of overcooked fish and 16 french fries. been eating at the Alki Spuds for the past 40 years so we thought the Edmonds would be a great place for lunch. Over priced and the quality was horrible. Do t go here! read more

Ordered food to go to catch our Ferry, figured 30 minutes would be enough time for them to make a simple 3 piece fish either way fries. Busy place, ambience was cafeteria like. Orders kept passing us up, people who came in after us were getting their orders. I was getting antsy. My bf asked about our order, that we've been waiting for some time...and the guy wearing a baseball hat said "too bad it's not ready yet" We left without getting our order. We were bummed for waiting so long. We ran out the store as we were trying to catch the ferry...when we came upon a street light and turned around to a voice shouting "Melissa!!!". I turned around and saw the guy who worked at the restaurant hand my bf our fish order. I thought " Wow! Humanity and niceness does exist!" We said "Thanks!" And we caught our ferry to Kingston. (Although he forgot one more order of French fries in our group, we shared our lunch anyways) it was a good day. Thanks Spud fish guy! read more

Food: very good calamari and oysters. Very meaty and fried perfectly. Sauces were good too. Chowder has a lot of clams which is great. Overall 5 stars compared to other fish and chips places. Service: staff was.very friendly and helpful. I would recommend and will be back. read more

Great atmosphere and food. Jack helped me out as it was my first time. He had great recommendations and great customer service. I will be back again! read more

Do not confuse with the Spud's fish and chips by Green Lake. This is no where near as good. Too salty. Fish overcooked.

A fish n chips place that charges for 80 cents for every tarter packet? WTAF? How about at least one free one? Ivars doesn't charge for tarter and it's doesn't smell like the fryer oil needs to be changed inside. read more

I have come to the Spud Fish & Chips by the Edmonds Ferry Terminal both with my parents and on my own, most recently this evening, Friday 21 July 2023. My first time with my parents was after the location opened up here, and my first time solo was tonight. I arrived around 6:45 p.m. and found one open parking spot by the windows marked pick up window. Out front of the entrance was a sample menu, which I looked over before making my way inside. Ordering was a breeze and there was seating available, a chair of which I used while waiting. The wait time for my order to be filled was approximately 12 minutes, I got a cod fish and chips with a side of tartar sauce. Cod was flaky and had a thin and crispy exterior without being too oily nor over-fried. For the tartar sauce, it was smooth and I used the whole container when eating my meal. The fries were light and fluffy. All three items were flavorful. I liked the paper wrapping for the fish and chips, it held the fish in place in my to-go bag and made easy the items less messy when eating. read more

Was looking forward to an affordable local fish and chips shop. While it's not too pricey, I can't recommend this place. Their fish is unbelievably salty. I don't need low sodium but this is ridiculous. read more

This place is incredible. How have I been missing out on it all these years (and by years I mean 89 because it has been in biz since 1935!). Super friendly staff and nice, airy space. We ate outside. Had the halibut & chips and it was to die for. So juicy and crispy. Cooked perfectly and piping hot. I am in love. My partner had the fish sandwich & chips and it was outstanding. Delicious cod, so tender inside and crispy outside. Perfect blend of flavors with the tartar sauce & cheese on a pretzel-lookin bun. So good! Nice ambiance as one waits for the Kingston Ferry or the Amtrak in Edmonds. Don't miss it! And there is a Top Pot Donuts across the parking lot if you want something sweet. read more

Oh no! Grown up loving Spud's fish & chips at the now closed Green Lake location. But here, though the service was very friendly and efficient, awfully disappointed I was with their "Cod & Chips". So heavily breaded, with one piece of fish being not piping hot but actually cold inside; and, limpy were the fries. Definitely not what I was expecting. I will read reviews first from now on before putting trust in just their name with any other of their locations. cheers! read more

Spud Fish & Chips - Cod & Chips - heavily breaded cod, limpy chips; disappointing, not like the fabulous now closed Greenlake's location! (06/25/22) - Seafood Near Me - Edmonds, Washington

Needed to grab some lunch while waiting for ferry, and were excited to see Spuds, as the (old) Greenlake location was our favorite fish and chips place. Unfortunately the food at this location was terrible. The rockfish was soggy and fishy tasting (like old) and the calamari was just inedible. Fries were a bit better, but no salt. A sad experience overall. read more

Don't often write reviews but - this place was lovely. We popped in for a quick to-go lunch while waiting for the ferry. The staff was happy and kind, I really liked the art work on the walls. Everything was clean and efficient. The food was really good as well, very hot, maybe a touch too salty (but like not in a bad way?). I will admit the tartar sauce wasn't a huge hit with the whole family, but it's not bad, just not our favorite. All in all, we were happy with our experience. read more

A couple months ago we decided to try spuds over here. Wow, this place always has friendly service and everything we get there is always hot, delicious, and handled with care. The shakes may be soft serve but whatever they're doing, they always are delicious too. Love the vintage pinball machines too (frosted lemonades too). This is a new regular spot for us. Just tried the fish sandwich today and man, so good. Definitely check it out. read more

I am a fish snob. I've worked in the fishing industry and have eaten fish that was caught minutes before. Quality fish is a must, and Spud has it. Super simple menu, cute location, friendly workers. Great fish. read more

I can see why they get two stars. Fish was okay. Lot of batter not a lot of fish. French fries were disgusting. Coleslaw literally was chopped cabbage in a bowl. If there was dressing on it I did not see it. It was the driest grossest coleslaw ever. Save your money save your time go to Ivers $60 waste of money. I thought well it's a nice day let's give it a go out in the sun Edmonds waterfront. Horrible horrible horrible horrible I don't even know how to tell you how bad it was. Service was okay but the food wretched. read more

The guy and gal working here yesterday 4/5/25 at lunch time we're great, friendly, professional, etc. The place was clean. The fish and mushrooms were terrible. I've never had fish that bad. I couldn't finish it. Terrible shame for a place with fish in its name. Although I don't recommend it, it's probably the least expensive place in the plaza it's located in. read more

Great fish and chips! I'm from out of town and not familiar with the local restaurant seen. I was a little hesitant about eating here because of some of the reviews, but I was willing to judge for myself. I was pleasantly impressed by how good it was. I got the 3 piece fish and chips and it was terrific! Along with tartar sauce, I got the garlic aioli to dip the fries in. It was a perfect addition. Overall great place and a nice small outdoor seating section as well! Whenever I'm able come back for a visit this will be a must have! read more

I just jumped in to Spuds while waiting for the ferry and I was so impressed with the staff. The nice young woman at the counter was polite, attentive, up beat and efficient. The young gentleman at the girl was on point, organized and super effective. He was kind when delivering my food to me. I did take out but the lobby was simple, there are cool pinball games. Bathroom just for customers. I love seeing something good and wanted to share. Nice hiring Spud Edmonds team! read more

They must have a new cook because every thing was great. The coleslaw was fair but the fries were crispy and the fish was crispy and the right amount of breading. All in all nice crew working and just a good experience. Will come back for more! read more

I don't like leaving bad reviews, but I just have to for this place. I had always heard about Spud fish and chips, so I thought I would finally try it. A cup of chowder, 2 piece cod and chips, two tartar sauces, and a bottle of water....$28!! OK, I figured for that price, this was going to be good. No it was not. The chowder was absolutely horrible!! I literally took a couple bites and could not even eat it. It had a thick consistency and taste of flour and water mixed together. I dug around and found only two tiny slivers of clams. The fish pieces were large, but then I realized that it's mostly all breading. Every bite I took, even in the middle, all I could taste was the breading, it was overwhelming. I ate a few fries, and then left. Such a disappointment, and such an absolutely horrible meal, $28 down the drain. read more

This was my fault because I thought it was the same spuds as alki beach in west seattle. It is not! The clam strips were over cooked and burnt, so you couldn't taste any clam and it was just crunchy breading. The jumbo prawns are just shrimp, but we're good. The cod was ok, it made me wish I tried the cheaper rock fish option. Nothing comes with fries automatically, you have to ask for it. Nothing comes with tarter either, that is a separate purchase. The staff was ok. Staff: 4/5 Food: 2/5 Location: 4/5 read more

I hate leaving bad reviews, but I'm hoping maybe management will read the reviews and improve the situation. I have been eating at the various Spud locations all around Puget Sound for 50+ years. Always enjoyed the food and left with a full tummy. Until today. I ordered the one piece cod with chips. The piece of fish was about the size of a sausage patty, and the fries resembled onion straws--it was just fried up potato skins! There was only four actual fries, the rest was crumbled up, fried skins. Normally the fish is skinned pretty well before it is breaded and fried. The piece I got still had the thick membrane on it and the whole piece was mostly grey. Hardly any white flesh. It was chewy and tasted awful. Overpriced garbage. read more

I probably eat lunch 2 or 3 times a month in Edmonds. The codfish is always fresh and the fries crispy. Staff is friendly and attentive.

I thought I would just grab some dinner to go since I had to wait in the ferry line and it would be a while before I arrived at my destination. WORST decision ever! I ordered Halibut and chips. The fish was crunchy but the breading was on so thick I couldn't find the fish. The fries were soggy and limp with NO flavor. I honestly didn't think french fries could be bad but I was wrong! Once again I remind myself DONT go there! read more

We were in line for the ferry in Edmonds and I saw the Spuds Fish and Chips. When I moved here 47 years ago my friends took me the Juanita location and it was very good and affordable. So I told my girlfriend I would buy her lunch while we waited. After that it was all downhill. Other customers were served before my lady friend and it was a $37.00 for an order of 3 pieces of fish and onion rings that were fried with the fish. Oh and also 3 condiments. What a money grab. You have a great location other than that I would not ever come back and Will tell everyone. What a major rip off and shame on you. Don't waste your time answering this review. read more

Got a 2 piece halibut and fries. Really thin, hammered down fish with oil dripping off of it. Soaked it up with napkins - sounds so yummy, doesn't it - and ate what I could since I was trying to eat something before I had to jet to a meeting. I was the only person in the place for the 20 or so minutes I was there. Not surprised. With the insane price for the meal, plus the extra cost for tartar sauce - seriously?! - and total change of food quality compared to other Spuds in the Seattle area, it's clear why the place was empty. The fries were fresh but off; no seasoning and/or the oil needed to be changed. Also, its interior reminded me of a hospital cafeteria, minus the warmth of the hospital. For $22 freaking dollars, I can get a high quality seafood meal at a steakhouse and will not return. Food: 2 Service: 3 Parking: 4 Ambiance: 3 read more
