We took a pandemic weekend getaway to SHM Fishkill and it was well worth it. Everyone on the staff was highly professional and polite. The "kitchen crew" even carried on a conversation with us which you don't find very often. We had to reserve the pool time and had it to ourselves for an hour. We felt very safe and knew they were very careful in enforcing all protocols without being overbearing. Would definitely stay again. read more

SpringHills Suite Marriott is an all-suite hotel with spacious rooms. Accessible parking is at a premium. More spaces should be allocated for this designation. As one enters the suite, a sofábed and footrest are the first furniture on the right of the door. A refreshment niche with snacks, water, coffee, microwave and mini-fridge is on one side of the entrance area. Opposite are a desk and chair for work across the sofa. The jumbo jumbo bed is comfortable, but the pillows are too soft. Everyone in our group got neck pain. The shower is a little tricky with two body sprays of water on one side that shoots straight into the center of the shower. It takes a bit of thinking to know how to use the shower well. Shampoo, Conditioner and Body Wash dispensers are inside the stall. In the lobby, breakfast is provided in the morning, and the menu changes slightly every day. There is a bar towards the back of the lobby with limited amounts of cocktails and liquor. The staff is very friendly and attentive. I forgot my toothbrush and they gave me one. Just got a text message that I left behind a garment in my suite. They will send it to me via a third party for a fee. read more

updates as we go travelers. this trip I was met with their mini fridge that only stays on for two hours. yep, THE REFRIGERATOR! needless to say my dinner I was hoping to eat when finishing with my work was SPOILED because silly me, I thought the refrigerator would be you know, cold. checking out I was met with a oh I didn't know they did that, turn to co-worker man, did you know this? uh huh ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ . Back for a second stay. Didn't notice last time that the walls were so thin and you can clearly hear what's being said (and done) in the rooms next to yours! HVAC fan also made a terrible racket and had to be turned off. Staff was again pleasant and hotel clean. Breakfast still spartan, but I had a surprisingly good whole wheat bagel this morning! We stayed a total of four nights and found our accommodations to be quite nice. The décor throughout the hotel is modern and well maintained. We were assigned a room on the fourth floor that featured a king sized bed, mini refrigerator, flat screen TV, and a well appointed bathroom with walk-in shower. Each employee encountered throughout our stay was friendly. A breakfast buffet offered between the hours of 6AM to 9:30AM is included in the price of admission. Speaking of the breakfast buffet, it varied little from day to day with the exception of the choice of protein - one day bacon, the next sausage, the next bacon, and you can guess what was offered the day following (hint: you will it on a BLT). On morning #3 we decided variety was the spice of life so we dined elsewhere. The was one issue encountered was with room servicing, it is limited to a change of towels and emptying of wastebaskets every day except on Wednesdays when full service is provided. Not a problem on the surface for us, but we discovered on our late return to the room on Wednesday afternoon that no hand towels were included and the sheet had an obvious blood stain on it. It was too late to call the front desk so on exiting the following morning we advised the front desk of our problem. On our return at approximately 4:30PM not only had the sheets not been changed, but our room had not been serviced. We so advised the front desk on exiting at 4:48PM, but on our return at 8PM we discovered the towels/wastebaskets and bedding had not been touched. We returned once again to the front desk and were told they could not enter our room and handed us towels which again did not included hand towels. Overall we were happy with our choice of hotels and would not hesitate to return in the future. read more

Good sized room, everything's sanitized and in working order, large window facing the sunrise...it's simply one of the nicest places I've stayed in the past two weeks (and I've changed hotels five times). Stayed here over a weekend while touring Beacon. GETTING AROUND The hotel is about a 10 minute car ride to the Beacon metro-north station. We didn't have a car and had to rely on uber/lyft so if you're in the same position, plan ahead! Depending on the time of day and location, a wait could be as sort as 5 minutes to as long as 30 (to and from the hotel). The hotel was pretty quiet and looked well-mainted for good friday/easter sunday weekend..floors were super clean! CHECK-IN/CHECK-OUT You can check-in early, just call the hotel in advance to make sure your room is ready. Check-in is 4pm, we got there at 2pm but our room was good to go by noon. The check-in process was painless. I checked-in on the bonvoy app and got my keys from the front desk - minimal contact, which is how I prefer it right now. Same deal with check-out..super speedy process. ROOM/AMENITIES Our room was pretty spacious. We were given extra towels and assigned a room on a higher floor as requested. Same amenities mentioned in other reviews - flat screen tv, mini fridge, microwave, walk-in-shower. The building also has a small pool and gym. The staff were really pleasant and are still following covid-19 precautions, constantly wiping down tables in the lobby which is reassuring. Free breakfast is from 7am until 10am. The assortment was delicious - belgian waffles, an oatmeal bar, eggs, sausages, fruit, cereal, and a good variety of beverages to choose from. The hotel held an easter egg hunt on Sunday and it was really cute seeing all the kids running around looking for eggs. They very quickly spotted a stealthy staff member that was going around hiding them though, LOL! CONS The beverage bar in the lobby was not well stocked for a hotel that had over 20 occupants. There was only a small dispenser of hot water so if you wanted hot chocolate or tea, you had to wait for the staff to refill the dispenser. At the time, the front desk staff said they were manning the hotel by themselves so there wasn't any hot water provided until much later in the day. Not a big deal, but definitely need more hot water dispensers. Our room was cold at night despite turning off the fan and raising the temperature to 75 degrees. THINGS TO NOTE Bring cash to tip the kitchen staff and room attendants..even a small tip goes a long way for the people who work really hard to keep the place clean. read more

Stayed here 1 night on a business trip in the area. This is a nice, clean hotel. The rooms are large and the beds are comfortable. The buffet breakfast is back, with eggs and potatoes highlighting the choices. They lost points with me in a couple of areas. First, at check-in, the desk clerk, after confirming I had a 1 King Bed room, proceeded to tell me I was sharing the room. Needless to say, I was surprise since I was traveling alone. That took a couple of minutes to straighten out. Then, in the morning, before I was going to take a shower, I noticed that I had 2 bottles of conditioner but no shampoo. I went to the desk and asked for some. The desk clerk looked and told me it appeared they didn't have any. A few minutes later, after having breakfast, I asked a different desk clerk and she found some. That was not impressive. Overall, the positives outweigh the negatives. This was by far the best SpringHill I have stayed in, and I have stayed in quite a few. The hotel was clean, the breakfast buffet was very good (and they even brought around sample strawberry smoothies for the guest), and the room was clean and comfortable. The only negative was the narrow tub/shower combination. They would be well served to put a curved shower curtain bar up so that the space feels a bit larger and you can avoid the uncomfortable feeling of the shower curtain rubbing up against your arm while you shower. It's very spacious, room had a king bed, the bathroom was so nice, it had a couch with a bed under it too, check in was easy and checkout as well, check in is also 21+ by the way! AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE! Such a great hotel in general. The rooms are very clean and spacious. The staff is very friendly! Stephanie from Front Desk was great! She let us do an early check in since we were exhausted from our red eye flight. The breakfast stations were great. My favorite were the biscuits and gravy and the potatoes. I was surprised they all have daily specials at night! They gave flat bread pizza and chili beans one night and desserts the other. Such a great addition! The pool was also nice especially in 20 degree weather, I appreciated the pool room being 80 degrees. I also needed help printing out a document and the printer wasn't working and not only did the Manager on Duty help but also the General Manager. So sweet of them! Brand new building located at the rear of a corporate park. Everything is clean, fresh and modern. Typical size rooms for a Springhill Inn, but the lobby is open and inviting. Check in is the same location as the Residence Inn. They share the same pool, workout room, breakfast area and bar. Workout room has plenty of equipment. Bar is open until 11pm, but will stay open later if enough people are ordering. Nice outside area with seating and a firepit. Definitely would return. read more

A hotel you may want to avoid. I recently stayed there and had personal property stolen from my room. The only one that had access I would presume is the housekeeper. After confirming that I in fact brought the item In question, I brought this to the attention of the hotel general manager. She calls me back and tells me she trusts her housekeeper as she has been there for a year. As a frequent Marriott customer which is almost weekly, this property has no respect for a valued customer. Absolutely amazing i have almost no complaints. Continental breakfast was great. They even give you complimentary appetizers from 6pm to 8pm although it didn't taste great it was still a very nice gesture. Every employee was wonderful and nice. I even called about early check in because i was gonna get there earlier then expected at first and it was not a problem they had my room ready no problem. Gluten free bread and bagels with breakfast! This was a welcome treat that I have only found at a couple of hotels across the country. Nice! A clean and modern suite hotel with very friendly staff. The rooms come with a microwave and mini fridge. There are numerous 120v plugs and even USB plugs to charge all our devices. Very nice, clean, new hotel. I've been staying here for work for the past few weeks for work no complaints. This hotel is kinda merged with the residence inn so you get "the mix" Monday-Wednesday. This is their mixer sort of thing. I've normally always gotten free alcoholic drinks and a small snack at other residence inns, this always has a legitimate dinner but no free alcohol . I am a 28 year old male and the debate between free alcohol or a free meal is a very perplexing one to say the least. However, there is a full bar with liquor, beer, wine and even a couple draft beers. The customer service has been very good too. The only somewhat negative thing I would say is that the elevator stops rather abruptly, you will notice it lol. read more

This is a lovely hotel. The hotel is centrally located for sightseeing in Beacon, Cold Spring, etc. surrounded by beautiful mountains, spacious and comfortable. The staff is very friendly and detail-oriented. They promptly picked up the phone, answered questions, provided what we needed for the suite, and the place was spotless. Covid-19 protocols were strictly followed. They have a nice indoor pool and you have to sign up for a one-hour slot, so there is no crowing there either. The rooms are very large, with comfortable beds, a walk in closet, big bathroom, and a living room area with a desk and chair plus a kind of kitchenette with a microwave, coffee maker, and refrigerator. Lots of places deliver to the hotel, so if you are not up for dining indoors you are fine. Plus there is free breakfast. From our big window we could see gorgeous green mountains. I would definitely come back. I would suggest adding cushions to the sofa because it is quite deep and to hang the large TV on the wall in front of the beds. read more

POSSIBLE BED BUGS AND THEY DID NOTHING!!! This was literally the worst hotel experience I have ever had. I awoke Saturday morning to notice a large series of bites on my torso. At 7:30am, I went to the front desk and spoke with Diana, the manager. I showed her the bites, and told her they were not there the day before. I told her that when I arrived the previous day, I specifically requested a bed bug check be done to my mattress- standard protocol anytime I check into a hotel anywhere- and that while I hadn't seen any bed bugs during the check, we need to take this seriously and have the room professionally checked to be absolutely sure. It is my understanding that bed bugs can also live in the carpet, which is impossible to visually notice. I asked her that we keep a level of communication throughout the day so I know what's happening. She had a very lax response even initially, saying that they will check into it. Throughout the day, she left me a couple of voicemail messages saying that the company they use for bed bug checks isn't responding to her calls. At 2pm, she and I spoke directly on the phone. She said that some of her staff members on site checked my mattress and didn't see anything, and that the company is still not responding. I said that I need to hear more of a game plan being made for me and my stay that night at the hotel, and that all of her communication had a lax quality to them; I needed to hear a sense of urgency, as a potential bed bug situation is a very serious matter. At 3:36pm, she told me that they could not get in touch with the company, and that they were full for that night and would not have another room to offer me. I was outraged that she allowed 8 hours to elapse from that morning to tell me they were full that night, and since it was now late in the day, and it being summer and the busy season in the area, it would be greatly difficult for me to find a room elsewhere. My only choice was to go back to that room to sleep that night. I felt extremely uncomfortable to have been put in that position. She should have checked on and informed me that they were booked immediately after I raised the concern that morning. I called Corporate and filed a complaint against this hotel. I then sought recourse for this extremely poor treatment, and requested what was perfectly fair and just- to be compensated for the second night when I was made to feel so uncomfortable. The hotel manager refused, and also refused to take any degree whatsoever of responsibility for this highly concerning sitiation. Needless to say, I will never return to this property. read more

The room was clean, modern and well appointed - very comfortable for a family for one night at an out-of-town wedding. The hotel was well kept, excellent complementary breakfast the next morning. Overall no complaints about the facilities except for two things. The receptionist / front desk was surprisingly rude. When I arrived, I said hello and that we were there to check in and handed the woman at the front desk my license. Without addressing me in any way or even looking up she took it and began typing. Strange. There was some minor issue with the reservation - my parents had booked two rooms both under my name. Instead of explaining what was going on, this same front desk woman sort of raised an eyebrow and kept typing for long stretches. She also asked repeatedly if I was sure it was this Marriott? I told her yes, and I'd called the night before to confirm an early check in. It came across to me as passive aggressive and making the check in more of a hassle than it needed to be. This was all very odd behavior for the first person who greets you when you walk in the door. After a 3.5 hours trip it left a really bad taste in my mouth. That was the only hiccup, until the hotel later charged us for the room - which had been pre-paid for with travel points. We had to call up and ask for a refund. That was earlier today so I cannot confirm whether we will be refunded in a timely way. Overall the stay would have been 4 stars but I can't rate the hotel better than 2 given the unprofessionalism of the front desk help and billing. read more

We booked for a Friday night via hotels.com For a one night stay. Our schedule was completely changed by a storm . As soon as we checked in we asked the receptionist to extend our stay to 2 nights. She said since I booked through hotels.com if I would like to go through them again. I told them I don't care if I booked direct as long as we get the same room . She looked up and said it is 139.00 and I said ok and asked if I need to bring my credit card. She said she has it and I am all set. We were very happy with the stay until next afternoon. I was waiting for new towels to shower and the cleaning lady never came. I asked her few times and finally she said they have it as one day for us . We went back to the receptionist to check and she said we don't have a room. I said it must be a mistake and asked her to check again. She was just bluntly refusing that there was any booking. There was no remorse no admitting that it was their fault but just sheer patronizing. They had no rooms and kicked us out. I usually don't write reviews unless I want to give 5 stars but I just want future customers to be aware of the front desk staff's indifference when they make a mistake. Where I work , customer is always right but for this hotel they not only think their staff is right there is no attempt to right the wrong. Wanted a change of scenery for the weekend. The room was clean and very spacious. My kids loved the pool. It was nice to have free breakfast and there were a lot of options. The facilities are very nice. We stayed in the studio, which was great. There was a furnished kitchen with full size fridge, small stove, microwave (complimentary popcorn packet) and Keurig coffee machine with K-cups. There was nice L shape couch and TV and desk. I'm not sure if this is the proper term, but there was a nice vanity area with a mirror where you can put on make up and get ready, separate from the bathroom. The bathroom and shower is spacious. The room and amenities were great. There was ample parking, which was important because we drove in a UHaul with an attached car transport. We had no issues with parking. However, the areas where they lose the 1 star as are follows. The toilet sometimes made a strange noise after flushing, but it went away after a while. Right outside our room was what looks to be the designated smoking area. I didn't smell any smoke, but the smokers were talking loudly outside for 15+ minutes while we were trying to sleep. They should move this area what from guest bedrooms. Most of the foods that we tried at the complimentary breakfast were terrible. There were 2 types of sausage and they both tasted like rubber. The eggs were also rubbery and the make it yourself waffles were sour (not sure if it's supposed to be like that or if they used spoiled milk or something - nonetheless it did not taste good). The strawberries were sour as well, the fresh pineapple was decent. There were fresh smoothies that they made that were very good, you can taste the fresh fruit chunks in there.
