We hired A Perfect Blend Entertainment and got to work with Mario for our May 19th wedding and it was FANTASTIC. The communication from A Perfect Blend in the year leading up to our wedding was wonderful--any question we had, they answered right away. Their online planning portal was also so incredibly helpful for figuring out exactly what we wanted for music and how the flow of the day would go! And when we finally got to the day, DJ Mario was amazing! He did a perfect job of blending me and my husband's music tastes and playing crowd pleasers that got everyone hyped and on the dance floor. He dropped so many bangers during our first dance set that our Best Man turned to us and said "this playlist is TOO good! I can't sit down!" Mario kept the reception flowing perfectly, and I was THRILLED when he handed me the mic for a little karaoke session. It was truly the most fun I've ever had! A Perfect Blend Entertainment handled the music for our ceremony, cocktail hour and reception, as well as our DJ booth for our June 24, 2023 wedding.  Mario was our head DJ and he was INCREDIBLE.  We met about 8-10 months out from the wedding to discuss our general vision, at which point we secured his services and gained access to our web portal where we were able to start loading content (song choices for each segment of our event, must pays, do not plays, etc) and get started on the general vibe of the party.  Then as we approached the wedding, we had more contact to select our custom photo booth strips (they make you a scrapbook with everyone's photo strips!! how cute!!) and to solidify choices, get the mixes right, and make sure everything is cohesive.   A Perfect Blend is VERY familiar with our venue (FEAST at Round Hill) so they also provided uplighting and were able to mount speakers in the entire venue, making it a fully rounded experience. I'd fully recommend this service if you're looking for a wedding or event DJ - they asked questions we wouldn't have thought of (age group of our guests - suggested where to do the cake cutting to make sure the dance floor didn't empty out, etc), which made our lives easier during this hectic time. 10/10 for sure!!! read more

Nick was absolutely incredible! From the first meeting it was like sitting with an old friend. He knew exactly what we wanted on our wedding day and delivered just that to us. We are an older group so we had asked for our music not to be extremely loud so that our guests were able to still hear each other at their tables and Nick came through for us. He gave us an excellent mix that our guests were able to dance to (altho our group weren't much of dancers) Nick did get them up where he could. That must've been the hardest part for him, judging our crowd, but he was fantastic. I wish the day was longer as it just flew by so fast. If I could plan again, I'd do it exactly the same. Booking A Perfect Blend for our recent wedding at FEAST at Roundhill was an extremely smart decision on our part. We were experiencing deep wedding planning fatigue by the time we got to music selection, so we gave Nick some fairly vague preferences and a handful of requests and left the rest up to him. We were very selective when researching DJs for our wedding. We've been to many weddings that the music made us cringe, so for us, a good DJ was super important. We also had a slightly different type of wedding style in which there was no formal sit down dinner (serving from a food truck), so the dance floor and the music were pretty much continuous throughout the entire night. Dave was fantastic in reading the room and the crowd that was dancing. I have a hard time letting go of control of things, and in my head I thought I could create a killer playlist, but I would have been so so wrong. Dave did play our favorite songs, but then just made this awesome mix that our friends, family, and even the vendors and people working at the venue that evening were raving about. My wife and I couldn't have asked to work with a better vendor and day of DJ in Chris on our special day. The Online Planning Portal was super helpful and we loved being able to list must/don't plays. On our wedding day, we don't even know where to begin... Chris just nailed it. I hired APB Entertainment for my Friday, July 2019 wedding, and I am still blown away by this vendor. I was lucky that David, the owner, was available for my Friday wedding. He is a great DJ. My guests were dancing all night long. For my wedding, I was looking for a DJ that was comfortable with a wide range of genres and able to handle a multi-cultural event. Prior to the wedding, I discussed this with David and, to my pleasant surprise, he had very good suggestions for getting everyone on the dance floor. He convinced me that we should start with Latin music and not introduce it towards the end of the party. We did exactly that and my guests were dancing to bachata immediately after my first dance. He also pays attention to the dance floor and has good instincts in terms of selecting music to keep the party going. He also followed my instructions, and did not play any reggaeton as requested (although I could tell he really wanted to). David is also very professional. My husband and I hired Mario for our June 2013 wedding at Greentree Country Club in October of 2012. The two times we met with him in our home we discussed the timeline of the event, and other details. Everything up until the day of the wedding seemed to be running smoothly.. that is until the day of the actual event. The day of our wedding, June 22nd, 2013 I receive a voicemail from Mario saying that there was a "mix up" and we wouldn't have the wireless mics that we had been promised since day ONE. Since he couldn't get me on the phone (due to obvious reasons, I was trying to get ready for my WEDDING) he calls up my husband to tell him the news. Once I receive word of this I call him back and tell him this is completely unacceptable. After some discussion, he tells me he will "pull some strings" and get the wireless microphones for our ceremony. Not only did he act as if he was doing me a favor, he totally stressed me out on my wedding day, I was in tears. We did end up getting the wireless microphones, in the end -- but they didn't work properly. During our ceremony the audio continuously cut out while my husband was saying his vows. This was embarrassing to us because our guests couldn't hear the most important parts of our ceremony. To make a very long story short -- Mario ended up actually yelling at me (yes, the bride) towards the end of the reception. He then wrote us a lengthy e-mail at 4am on our WEDDING NIGHT. The contents of this e-mail are much too long to copy and paste but excerpts include the following "I tried to compensate for his lack of projection by pushing his level, but that was leading to feedback- a common side effect of pushing a wireless mic too high." (Regarding the fact that my husband couldn't be heard during the ceremony.) As well as -- "You can go say whatever mean, inflammatory things online to try and hurt me. You can sit there and attempt to hurt my life, my career, my livelihood, and attempt to make it harder for me to support my family and feed my daughter by trying to rail against me in a fiery review." The real problem with this statement is that its actually a LIE. Although they detail in their contract that you can receive a refund, they won't give it to you. I reached out to David, the owner of A Perfect Blend, the very next day after our wedding. He promised he would get back to me about this whole situation and never did. I sent him 3 additional e-mails since and have had zero response. So basically, A Perfect Blend will take your money, promise you the world, and then ignore you if its anything besides positive reviews. If I could change one thing about my wedding day, it would be using this company for the DJ services. I would never recommend Mario or David to friends or family. I am still upset about this a month after my wedding. This is something you do once -- perhaps that is why David and Mario are unconcerned with a dissatisfied bride. read more

He provided us with an online site to help us select music for each part of our evening from the cocktail hour, the bride and groom dance and cutting the cake, to the last dance of the evening. So many guests, both old and young came up to tell us what a wonderful time they had and how great our DJ was! APB Entertainment, and particularly our DJ Mario, were a huge factor in making our wedding this past weekend such a smashing success. From our very first planning session, I knew we were in the hands of a competent professional. Mario was interested in actually getting to know us, in order to personalize our event. He looked into our eyes and listened to our story, instead of rattling off a list of questions from rote memorization or a sheet of paper. He made us feel like he had a personal stake in the outcome of our special day, beyond merely securing the contract, or receiving a good gratuity. It was obvious that he shared our excitement and joy from day one. This is a man that loves his job and it shows. Mario continued to be patient with us as we struggled to complete our "homework" by deadline. During the final planning session, when it was discovered that we had not yet filled out our lists of "must play", "do not play", "special dedication" songs, etc., he worked with us to come up with ideas that would really set the tone we were looking for, asking open ended questions, and making suggestions based on what has worked well in the past. Never once did he chastise us, as other industry "professionals" would have done. On the wedding day itself I received so many compliments on the music. My guests were up and dancing from the very first song. They did not stop for salad. They did not stop for intermezzo. Song after song after song was pure gold. The energy was up all night, which is exactly what I wanted. I still have family and friends shooting me text messages, or leaving comments on my Facebook about what a great time they had, and how I hired the best DJ they've ever heard. Mario was also an awesome emcee. He made announcements as appropriate, guiding our guests , or letting them know what to expect, without filling up the air time with mindless chatter, as I have heard at far, far too many other weddings. He also shared some of the highlights we had told him about us- so he either takes excellent notes when you speak to him, or he has a fantastic memory! He really worked alongside our venue's Maitre'd to ensure seamless transitions between all the different things that occur during a wedding reception. I really have to credit them both equally with how smoothly the entire evening went. Finally, he was an absolute rock star when it came to ambiguity and last-minute changes. My parents waffled back and forth on whether or not they wanted to be announced right up until the moment the reception began, but it was a nonissue. There needed to be changes to the order of the bridal party, no problem. Certain guests planned on leaving early, so we had to move the Anniversary Dance up earlier and shuffle some other things around, whatever. Mario handled it all with grace and aplomb. Oh, and I also waited until about ten minutes before the event began to ask him to hand out a few items during the night- things like beaded necklaces, glow sticks, sunglasses, and inflatable guitars. I had purchased them from a popular novelty company online, but never informed him, so he got that surprise sprung on him as well! Now, I'm not endorsing the abuse of your DJ in this way, but it is nice to know that they can handle whatever is thrown at them with the utmost composure! In fact, everyone at APBE is great with eleventh hour adjustments. With three weeks left before the wedding, we realized we had money left over in the budget, and something on my fiancée's wish list that was never realized was a photo booth. All it took was a short phone call. By the time I hung up, the updated contract was already sitting in my email inbox. My now husband and I were first introduced to David and APB at our friend's wedding last July where he was the DJ and MC. He was so awesome that we ended up getting his contact info from our friend and booking him for our own wedding. Music and dancing was really important to me and my fiance (we wanted everyone to be dancing all night long at our wedding!) and we felt really confident in David's skills. From the get-go, David was the ultimate professional and always kept our needs at the forefront of our conversation. He was responsive, thoughtful, and always available to chat. We worked with a number of vendors, and David was the one who was so clearly invested in making our day special, memorable, and exactly what we wanted. He understands how important music is to the ceremony and celebration and takes it very seriously. I loved that he listened to our needs and balanced it with his insight and knowledge. The APB website and planner was really helpful too, and I loved that we could curate our own "must play" and "do not play" lists. My fiance and I had so much fun putting together a "must play" list. On the day/night of our wedding, David was AMAZING. He made a few judgement calls during the reception/dinner that went off of the planner/timeline that he knew would enhance our experience and our guests' experience, and I'm glad he did. Before making any decision that went off the timeline, he always made sure to check in with me first (I think he knew I was a little bit neurotic about the timeline, being an event planner myself..) to make sure I was comfortable with his suggestion. He knows how to go with the flow of the evening, which is really important. When I would ask David something or request something on the night, his response was always "it's your night! Anything is possible!". Also.. most importantly.. our guests were dancing ALL night and we got so many compliments on the music and DJ. We booked A Perfect Blend Entertainment for our wedding at FEAST at Round Hill. FEAST is a very interesting venue (you're basically renting a house with multiple rooms for your wedding, not just a big open banquet hall), so we wanted a DJ company familiar with their atypical set-up. The staff at FEAST made rave remarks about A Perfect Blend. When I took to Reddit.com to ask for honest recommendations, a past bride told us such a fabulous story about ABP's DJ, Mario. Apparently, at her wedding, Mario sensed a family altercation happening, put on a well-known dance track, and went around cajoling people at their tables to come dance. His creative solution to distracting the wedding guests from some family drama saved this bride's wedding. She spoke about him in the highest regard. Knowing what our own relatives are like, we had to have him! We called a year in advance of our wedding and spoke with the owner, Dave. Dave was one of our favorite vendors to speak with, as he seemed genuinely excited about upcoming weddings. In every bit of communication with him (even emails), he spent just as much time congratulating us and asking about other aspects of wedding planning then he did hammering out details for our DJ contract. We really appreciated how he kept reminding us about the big picture/purpose of the day. I give A Perfect Blend four stars, rather than the full five, because Mario was one of our least communicative vendors. One month before our wedding, we had scheduled final phone calls/consultations with all of our vendors, but had not heard from APB. They were the only vendor I had to contact first. After I reached out, Mario emailed me and we tried to set a time to talk. This proved difficult-- Mario was busy with weeknight graduations and proms, as well as weekend weddings. When we finally did set a time to hold a conversation, Mario had forgotten. We called his cell, only to find that we were interrupting his set-up for another event. He told us that it was a "bad time" even though the call was a previously set engagement. We wound up speaking the next week instead. Our phone call with him was quite brief, although he assured us that the brevity of our phone call was due to the fact that my husband and I had filled out the online event planning form that ABP offers entirely (did I mention I'm Type A?) and that there wasn't much left to discuss. After our phone call, a few small things did pop up, but Mario wasn't very quick to check his emails or voicemails. For example, my officiant contacted me to let me know she had not received a response from him when she reached out to ask if he got a cuing sheet she had set up for the music for the ceremony. She asked me to assist her in ensuring he had received her emailed documents. Because of my brief communication with him, I have to admit I had my doubts about him, right up until about 30 minutes before the start of our ceremony... when he still had not arrived at our venue (despite my Type A personality, I had forgotten to confirm what time he intended to arrive). As the ceremony start time drew closer, my stress heightened... but then, he pulled up, got out of the car, started setting up, and all my concerns melted away. Mario may not be a Type A personality, but he doesn't need to be. He has his job down to a science. Within ten minutes, he was set up and ready to go. He timed the ceremony perfectly to our officiant's delight, double-checked pronunciation of names with us prior to introducing our bridal party, played all the right songs from our request list during the reception, and left his DJ station on multiple occasions to approach me or my husband just for the sake of checking in with us. It was great. My father worked in a career that has caused him to attend a number of events with either live music or DJs, and he kept reminding me during the wedding planning process that the quality of your DJ can make or break an event. He kept reminding me I needed to find someone who could address the crowd with charisma and "get a pulse" from the crowd to determine what kind of music to play. At the end of the night, my father pronounced Mario "a good DJ!", which I think is some of the highest praise my father's ever offered. :) read more

My husband and I could not have been happier with the DJ we had at our wedding from "A Perfect Blend"! Our DJ Mario was incredible, and truly went above and beyond to exceed our expectations. He met with us and spent a great deal of time asking probing questions to get to know my husband and I better. It really paid off, because he played music all night that was truly to our tastes! Also, the company utilizes a great organizer tool online that helped us plan songs and introductions from the comfort of our home! We had planned a surprise dance for our wedding, and I was so pleased with how Mario listened to the specifics of timing the song to coordinate with the surprise. It was executed perfectly, and really made the surprise complete. Additionally, Mario asked my husband and I questions regarding our time together as a couple. He also asked us to submit a variety of pictures that showcased our childhoods, teen years, and our time together as a couple. All of this information was synthesized into a video montage that brought everyone to tears. It was incredibly beautiful and heartwarming, but the best part was that he also had a copy for my mom to take home! I recommend APB and Mario to all of my friends who have recently gotten engaged, and look forward to utilizing the company again in the future for family parties. From the planning stages to the actual day, he was just great. Chris took the time to coordinate with us on what the day would look like and he even helped guide some of our planning and timelines! And then he was flexible in-the-moment, while still managing to keep the night's momentum on track. We really appreciated the way he kept our friends and family in the loop, giving them advance notice when it was going to be their time to speak or dance, and how he checked in with us throughout the night through the transitions from cocktail hour, dancing, eating, speeches, etc. It was honestly like he was doing all the things we didn't know we needed until we were in the moment. And the music was perfect! There was never a moment the dance floor was not packed with our friends and family dancing and singing along the entire night. He hit all of our must-have songs and completely understood our vibe and ran with it. He wasn't obtrusive and cheesy like some DJs can be, and specifically what we were trying to avoid, but he really kept the party going. If I could give this place zero stars, I would. I hired this vendor for my wedding that was supposed to take place in July 2020. Obviously, due to COVID-19, we were unable to have the wedding at that time. We rescheduled for late March 2021, but the pandemic continued, so we had to fully cancel the event. Per the contract, if an "act of God" occurs, the DJ is supposed to give back the payment. This covers pandemics, per the contract. However, A Perfect Blend Entertainment is now claiming that because we rescheduled our event (which we did last May), we were aware of COVID-19 and should have known that this would happen. As a result, this is not an "unforeseeable" circumstance and they will not give us our money back. Are you kidding me?!?!? Who knew in May 2020 that we would still be suffering from this pandemic? At that point, we all assumed this would be over by now. This is a horrible way to conduct business and is completely callous. Their pathetic offer to give us credit for a backyard function is not enough. As a New York City resident, I can't host such an event because I don't have the luxury of space. A Perfect Blend Entertainment was the best choice we could have made to keep our dance floor packed all night long! When we were searching online, we wanted to find a DJ Company that was unique. We loved that APBentertainment had playlists on their site which we have never seen done before. We inquired and setup a skype meeting with our DJ Nick and knew the Company was perfect for us. We got to be extremely involved in our music selection, choosing most of the songs for the night, but still allowing the DJ to play to the crowd with what he felt was best. They have an online portal which makes song selections, timelines, payments, etc. easy and stress free. We met with Nick a few times and he worked with us to make sure everything was exactly what we wanted from timeline to first dance to genres of music. He even assisted in cutting our music when we wanted to combine two songs for our first dance. The night of was the best dance party of our lives. Nick kept the vibe energetic, knew how to play to the crowd and keep everyone on the dance floor for the entire night. APB Entertainment DJ'd for a very good friend's wedding recently in West Point, NY. From the beginning I was impressed by the DJ's stage presence and announcing. What impressed me the most as the night progressed, however, were his song transitions. The DJ seamlessly connected songs from different genres and time periods for the duration of the reception. It was like one continuous song with perfect rhythm overlap. There was not a second of dead air and not a single awkward transition. And it wasn't a predefined playlist he sculpted ahead of time either--the bride and others made real time requests which he flawlessly incorporated into the song flow. The songs were more than appropriate for a mixed audience and really got everyone on their feet. The sound quality and volume were perfect as well. Please do not use this company .. I am not one to leave bad reviews , but I can't help but let people know what they are paying for . I was just at a wedding, there was no game plan. The wedding couple reached out multiple times to this company , and they were getting responses. The final payment was complete and so about a month before the wedding, the couple reached out again with the understanding there should have been a meeting, but we're basically told they weren't getting one. Numerous emails were sent, and this company answered but had no intentions of setting up a meet beforehand. Finally 3 days before, they answered and said, no problem, we know what songs are to be played and they didn't need to do anything's else everything was set. With a little communication, this entire fiasco would have been resolved, but the wedding went on without any communication before hand .. The first dance song that played was the wrong version of the song ! The couple was told to make a playlist of dance songs, so after months of searching, the playlist was set. During the wedding, barely ANY songs were played. It was totally the opposite type of music of what the wedding couple wanted, a playlist was made for a reason. Still unclear of why a playlist needed to be set. There was a period of time, perhaps at least half an hour where elevator music played and literally people sat and did nothing. The entire night I watched the bride or groom approach the DJ to coordinate songs we would enjoy instead of actually soak in their wedding day. We loved loved loved working with APB and especially with our DJ, Nick, for our wedding. Start to finish he was super responsive, available, creative, and proactive on email, on the phone, and in person. He knew our venue (The Round Hill House in Washingtonville) extremely well but even if he didn't I imagine he'd be great -- he knew just the right questions to ask and suggestions to make, giving us input without overloading us with technical information. I also found their online interface really tech-friendly and helpful for organizing our requests -- minimized back and forth, corrections in communications with vendors, etc. Really empowered me as a client! May 17, 2015 Since we lived out of state helping our daughter and future son in law find great vendors for their wedding became quite a challenge. Music was especially important to us, but once we met David ( A Perfect Blend Entertainment in Tarrytown) we all agreed we had found the perfect DJ. From our first meeting David made us feel at ease. He is personable, professional and very experienced Rather than tell us what he would do, he listened carefully to the bride and groom's ideas, validated our concerns that the music be appropriate for all our diverse guests, and made terrific suggestions. During the next several months he worked closely with the bride and groom to create their perfect playlist, and honored their must play and do not play selections. During the reception we were thrilled that everyone was on the dance floor. The energy he created in the room was fun and upbeat, yet the volume wasn't deafening. We saw David at a friends wedding in the summer of 2015 and he was fantastic, so we ended up calling A Perfect Blend for our wedding in July 2016. Spoke with David and he said that he was booked for that date but Mario was available. From the beginning, Mario was super helpful and attentive. We spoke with him for about 30 minutes on the phone to get to know him. We told him what we were looking for in a DJ, and right off the bat got a great feeling about him. They have a custom page that you are able to log into and put all of your details into, as well as a playlist and a do-not playlist. Mario came to our apartment about a month before our wedding just to finalize details etc. Everything went perfectly the day of the wedding and we could not have asked for a better DJ. AMAZING!!! Our DJ Nick was the best DJ we could have ever hoped for!! He made the entire experience so seamless, and was so easygoing, energetic and understanding throughout the whole planning process! He was recommended to me by my photographer because they had worked at my venue for a wedding together before. I also picked him because of the website he provides you with so that you can select and post the songs you would like for your cocktail hour, reception, and a "do not play" list as well. It does not mean he will play all of them, but it gives him an idea, which I thought was a fantastic way of doing things. He completely understood the mix of music we wanted and the type of wedding party we were hoping for, and it could have not gone any better! This was really important for us because as a couple we have a mixed taste in music, as well as our guests, and we wanted to make sure that all types of music we liked were represented. This is exactly what Nick did, constantly having everyone on the dance floor, which is what we wanted. It really made it work flawlessly with our international crowd of people coming from South America, England, and all over the U.S. The party was so amazing that everyone was raving to us about our DJ for days and weeks afterwards. We had Mario as the Dj at our wedding. He was amazing! He set the perfect mood for the wedding and was very helpful with everything! He was good at making the crowd laugh and make the day more special. We couldn't have done this without him! He even helped us with a special remix for our first dance, and did an amazing job. Nick did our wedding at Feast at Roundhill in October and he was the absolute greatest!!! Even before Nick was assigned to our wedding, Perfect Blend Entertainment was amazing. They were so responsive to our questions when we were looking for a DJ, and so thorough in helping us find what we were looking for. Nick went through our personalized online event planner line by line to make sure he had everything right. He made great suggestions, but ultimately listened to what we wanted. I have never heard of anyone saying that their DJ actually played a perfect mix of all types of music, and actually played all their requests, and Nick did it!!!
