Please read if you are planning on working with this company: Completely disrespectful, and terrible service... Planning a wedding can be very stressful for a bride, and can become extremely costly for a couple. Therefore, when choose a venue, you want to trust that they will provide everything that you're paying for. This company did not. Jimmy Dee entertainment was the worst and by far, the MOST DISRESPECTFUL vendor I have ever dealt with. I spoke to a representative who assigned me a DJ once my balance for services was almost paid off. The DJ and I spoke about two weeks prior to my wedding, and we had gone over all the necessary documents that they request for you to fill out. I made it very clear how important it was that the surprise video montage be played prior to our introduction to our reception, and the few dedicated songs I listed to also be played. I spent an extra $500 just to have the montage played, so that everyone who was there could feel very much a part of our wedding. Unfortunately, it did not go that way at all. The video was cut off before the end, and multiple guests did not get to see themselves in the video. Also, I had to make multiple trips to the DJ booth just to ask (the three DJ's) that they play my dedicated songs- which most were never played including the dedication I made to my mother. The screens at the DJ booth also had my name misspelled until the very end of our reception. The DJ played whatever he wanted and completely disregarded my requests. I cant tell you how upsetting it is to pay an upward of over $3300, to get everything but what you asked for. The absolute worst part is that once all was said and done, we thought it would be a good idea to let Jimmy Dee know what happened so that this doesn't happen to other couples going forward . We advised them of the issues, very politely, and this was their response to us: "Hey Drew and Melissa, As the claims are not congruent with reports from our team, we are gathering as much information as possible (i.e. exact playtimes, lengths of files played and list of songs played) to ascertain the truth. In the meantime, focusing on moving past the situation, I heard you guys had an awesome wedding. Aside from one of your guests having a bit much drink and breaking some of our equipment, the team said they had a great time partying with you. Once I can extract the music lists and data from the event, I will be in touch. Alex I had never spoken to this person before, nor had anyone discussed damaged equipment with us. After I responded to the email, and let them know that we were simply informing them of what happened, they quickly retracted and said that they didn't expect us to pay for any of the damages. But, what damages, but they just wanted to get the truth? As if we were lying? And how quickly things turned around rather than apologizing for the insufficient services rendered- and just be polite? I am writing this review so that you (bride) do not have to go through this. It's hard enough to plan and make sure everything falls into place, let alone deal with people who are unprofessional, and could care less about your wedding. Good luck with your wedding. If I could give them zero stars I would. The whole experience with this company has been quite disappointing. I had booked an appointment for myself and best friends to discuss their Dj/Mc services for their wedding. The process itself wasn't up to my standards. At the time of the appt. they told me they had 6 Dj-s/Mc's available for the date. I specifically asked to be called in advance If the date was booked and they assured me it wouldn't be a problem. We literally stopped looking for other providers. I got a call the day of my appt 3 & 1/2 hours before. Really? I happen to pick up my phone at work because the number looked odd. They nonchalantly told me the services for Dj/Mc were booked but they would be happy to assist me with the videography/photography I had asked about. I never asked them about those other services and they never once apologized or seemed to care. I was soo angry and stunned. For someone who came highly recommended I wouldn't take their services if they were free. They are unprofessional and I wouldn't waste my time with them. I was very happy with Richie and his team. We had a very specific, eclectic list of songs and a very adamant do-not-play list, and they adhered completely. When we had some disorganization with regards to our wedding party list, Richie worked quickly with us and our coordinator to get everything right, and pulled off the wedding party entrance without a glitch--everyone's name was correct even though it was sort of on the fly. Beats were matched, the crowd was read and people didn't stop dancing the entire night. Richie worked hard the entire night, even though he had back-up people. He was positive and friendly and generally sweet. People complimented us on the quality of the music. I really felt like we made a good choice. My only critique is that Richie seemed a little stiff at times--relax, Richie--you rock. read more

Getting married was a stressful experience. All of the planning was mind numbing. We had a smaller wedding with approximately fifty guests so looking for a dj was a bit intimidating. All of the staff at Jimmy Dee were pleasant and professional. They came in at the lowest price after ten different quotes. It was a no brainier. We had Alex as our dj. If you want a perfect, fun, dance-all-night-long wedding, then you absolutely have to go with Jimmy Dee. Corey DJ'd my wedding last week and earned my immense gratitude for his amazing set list and transitions, and the nonstop happy vibe he created throughout the night. I used their live musicians for my ceremony, which was such wonderful, romantic ambiance for the guests and for us. I sent them a list of the songs I wanted played (a lot of them more obscure, alternative, not popular romantic songs) and they nailed them with no issues. During the reception, I had Danny as my MC and he was exactly what I wanted. I don't like weddings where the MC is up in your face, shoving the microphone at you or forcing you to dance. Everyone was free to have fun on their own terms, and they did. The floor was never empty except for our solo dances. I couldn't believe how many people were up and moving, especially since I know a lot of them are not big party people. The music was, to quote my bridesmaid, "on point the entire night." Corey did a remarkable job of catering to diverse tastes, sampling from each decade from Dion and the Belmonts to Bruno Mars. He mixed everything together well, with amazing timing, and no awkward, dull moments. He played everything I asked for and honored all my requests of music I didn't want played. Danny was also very courteous and would come up and ask us if we were ready to do things and if it was okay, rather than saying "okay now it's time to do this." Alex Lampert, from Jimmy Dee Music, is a reliable, versatile and charismatic DJ who did a fantastic job at our Sept 2013 wedding. He was responsive and helpful prior to the event and helped us to pick out exactly what we needed. Music is very important to my wife and I, and so we had very specific ideas about the genres of music that we wanted to hear at our wedding. As our tastes do not coincide with the music that is played at most weddings, we knew that this would make it harder for us to find a suitable DJ. We wanted a DJ that would keep the party going but without being overly loud and obnoxious. As the DJ sets the tone of the wedding, we made finding the right person our highest priority. We were very fortunate to see Alex host a bridal show at our wedding venue and we were immediately impressed by his demeanor and charisma. We were eventually roped in to participate in an impromptu 'Dating Game' style contest on-stage and he made it entertaining for both the reluctant participants and the audience. Alex chatted to us for a few minutes after the event and it became clear to me and my wife that, as well as possessing the vocal style that we were looking for, he would also be easy to work with. A couple of days later, we met Alex at his office in White Plains. He went through the range of lighting and sound services that he offers. We had not previously thought about any of this but we liked that Alex did not try to hard sell anything and instead gave us an honest assessment of the extras he thought were necessary given the size of our wedding, budget and intended atmosphere. Our requirements were fairly basic but it was obvious that Alex knew exactly what he was doing and could cater to the most elaborate event. We also spent some time talking about the music that we wanted to hear at our wedding and Alex proved to be knowledgeable in musical styles ranging from rock to classical to salsa and cumbia. He was receptive to our requests to personally select the majority of the music but also guided us towards a more mainstream approach in order to get as many people dancing as possible. We really felt that Alex was going to create the atmosphere that we wanted at our wedding and so we booked him that day. It turned out to be a wise decision. Six months later, and about two weeks before the wedding, we had our second appointment with Alex to go over some of the arrangements. We brought with us a huge Excel spreadsheet that contained an exhaustive list of all the songs that we wanted to hear and when to play them (as well as a list of forbidden songs) which my wife and I had been working on for the previous month. Alex expressed some surprise over such unconventional attention to detail and made some suggestions but basically agreed to play what we asked for. Come day of the wedding, it was a huge success. Alex played all our music at the right times both pre and post ceremony. He intelligently mixed genres and ensured that our mostly rock/ indie and Latin crowd were up & dancing all through the night. We told Alex that it would be a challenge to find common ground for our international group but he nailed it. We will never forget the slow dances, the salsa or the mosh pit! Alex was always in control of the room and led through the events like the first dance, speeches and cake cutting with consummate professionalism. Most importantly, he kept our wishes in mind throughout the entire occasion. We cannot recommend Alex highly enough for anyone who wants a truly memorable wedding. I loved working with Neal & DJ JP for our wedding. 2months after our wedding & our friends are still talking about how awesome it was. Part of it is due to finding the right vendors that will work with you to help create your wedding vision. My husband and I loved working with Neal because he was professional and followed through with an eye for detail. On the day of, Neal arrived early to set up their equipment way ahead of time. For us it was huge plus that they were familiar with our wedding venue and didn't clash with our wedding decor. The DJ played from our list of suggested music from the 80s, 90s and hip hop. Neal was great about shouting out the wedding party when they were on the floor and kept everyone moving to the beat. It was amazing to see my somewhat elegant country club wedding transform into a hip dance party! I mean reception! ha! As a Bride, my crowning moment was the finale... when I screwed up the requested song... Neal graciously agreed to play an encore song and made me feel that much more special & ended on a very positive note! From the beginning, my husband and I knew that the two most important factors to our wedding would be the music and the food and Jimmy Dee's took care of the former perfectly. Neal was a fantastic MC, keeping the majority of our 230 guests dancing throughout the entire night. In fact, when the party was winding down and the last dance was announced at 1 am, almost all of our friends and family were still on the dance floor, prepared to continue dancing the night away! Our team from Jimmy Dee's created a wonderfully diverse mix of songs that made everyone feel like their musical tastes were considered, yet the transitions from current Top 40's to 90's rap to 50's Doo-Wop were seamless. My husband and I used Jimmy Dee for all of the entertainment for our March 2014 wedding. We had live music (a trio of guitar, bass, and violin) for our ceremony and cocktail hour and a DJ for the reception. From our first meeting with Alex, we knew we were in very good hands. Alex took the time to get to know us and get a sense of our personalities and musical tastes. He went through every detail of our entire wedding with us, including some details I hadn't even thought of. His suggestions were always spot on. The entire staff at Jimmy Dee is friendly, helpful, professional, and attentive, and they were a joy to work with. On our wedding day, the live musicians were fantastic--they even learned a song that was special to my husband and played it for him when he walked into the cocktail hour. They played all of our requests, and the songs they chose fit perfectly with our event. We could not have been happier with the live music. Our reception was energetic, fun, and flawlessly executed. The DJ had an amazing setup that was high tech but not ostentatious. Alex was able to effortlessly take the room from eating salad to Dean Martin standards to high energy dancing to top 40s. He mixed in requests from our parents and friends and created a playlist that was so uniquely us. He has a great energy but is unobtrusive and will keep your guests entertained all night. Alex created a photo montage for us with baby pictures and our times together, which was played during dinner and was so special. Our guests are still talking about how much fun they had dancing at our reception and how well the evening flowed. Jimmy Dee also brought a photo booth, which was a huge hit. At the end of the night, we got a photobook with printed pictures of our guests and messages they wrote to us as well as digital copies of all of the photos taken. Cory did a great job running the photo booth and assisting our guests with all of the fun props they had supplied. The photo booth provided wonderful souvenirs for our guests as well as great memories for us. From our first meeting in May 2013 to our wedding day in May 2014, everyone at Jimmy Dee was a pleasure to work with! When we first met with Jimmy Dee we met with Corey, who was very thorough going over all of their services and helping us come up with a package (DJ/photo booth) suited to our needs and desires - even trying to match his best MC and DJ to the kind of crowd we were going to have! Corey was also honest in letting us know that they were almost fully booked for our date (which was nearly a year away) but put no pressure on us to hurry a decision, and when they still ended up coming in with the lowest price for what we requested among the 5 or 6 companies we met with, we knew we wanted them and booked them not five minutes after our last meeting with another company. Along the way, we met with Alex to go over music, intros, etc., and he was both very helpful in offering suggestions (which, to be fair, these guys do hundreds of events a year, usually those are going to be goof, right?) as well as understanding and accommodating our requests. We also had a phone conversation with our MC, Neal, about a week before to go over everything, and all along the way it seemed like everyone knew everything we had told the previous contact, which made us feel good! Come wedding day, Neal, DJ Tommy and our photo booth attendant were punctual, professional, accommodating, and excellent from start to finish. We requested that our MC not be too involved in the proceedings, and Neal knew perfectly how to pace events, how much to get involved, and when to be more low-key - and, like Alex, also had some great suggestions for tweaks to intro songs and other moments. DJ Tommy read the crowd very well and had a great knack for pacing and flow of songs, and he was also easily amenable to our requests within that! He kept the entire crowd dancing all night long, and several of our guests mentioned that night or since about how great the whole entertainment package was. The photo booth was a hit (and you get both an album and the entire flash drive of photos afterward), and they even brought a little extra uplighting (which we hadn't originally had) at no extra cost to make sure the setup didn't look awkward. Being told that by your MC 15 minutes before your wedding starts may throw you off a bit if you're a total control freak (which, to be fair, I am at times), but the setup looked great, and to be honest, that shows me a knowledge of the venue and a desire to give you the best they can more than anything else. We couldn't have asked for a smoother working relationship from start to finish. As it turned out, all of our vendors turned out to be venodrs that had come with a recommendation from couples we knew that had used them previously - and Jimmy Dee was certainly an excellent recommendation! read more

Jimmy Dee was THE best choice we made for our wedding!! When my fiancé and I started planning our wedding we knew we wanted an updeat, dance-focused reception where people could really let loose. After we chose our the location of our wedding, Jimmy Dee was recommended as a music vendor by our venue. We set up an initial meeting with Rich (our emcee for the evening), and described the vibe we wanted for the ceremony, for the cocktail hour, and for various parts of the reception. Rich told us he had it covered and knew exactly what songs to play to create the atmosphere and party that we wanted. The result was absolutely spectacular. Every single moment of our wedding had a perfect soundtrack. During the ceremony Rich (and his team: Dave and Keith, who were also incredible) provided our officiant with a microphone, and was perfectly on cue with each of the songs that we had chosen. Everything was above our wildest expectations -- Rich was able to nail the vibe we wanted for cocktail hour which we only described as "emotional folk." The cocktail hour was elegant, calm, and relaxing. Moving into the reception, Rich turned it up in a big way and kept our guests dancing from 5:45 PM to 10 PM. He broke the night up into multiple sets and played a variety of different but fitting music in each set. Almost every single one of the 150 guests we had at our wedding remarked positively about the music, many telling us it was the best "dance wedding" they had ever been to, or that it was the best "music selection" they ever heard. Another guest remarked that this was "the first and only wedding, I've ever danced at, and the first wedding in a long time where I stayed til the last song." Not only was the music perfect, but Rich was an awesome MC introducing many of the different aspects of the night. Looking back my fiancé and I both agree that, along with picking our venue, choosing Jimmy Dee was the most important decision we made in creating an amazing wedding experience. Our emcee was good but screwed up our first dance a little bit. He told the guest to come join us on the stage earlier than we had told him we wanted him to. Big deal? I just had a wedding on 9/25/15 I went to a wedding that had jimmy dee and fantasy flash, I loved how they got the everyone on the floor their MC was mike, once I saw him, I asked our cousin about him because we were in the middle of starting to plan our wedding, I got all the information went in to talk with them we dealt with Neal , he was great worked out wonderful prices. When I told him we wanted Mike, because we saw him before he was awesome about it and we got him for our wedding, my cousin also used their photography company fantasy flash, we used manny and his wife Deanna they wonderful. Manny stayed with me and my bridesmaids and he was funny and took all the photos I asked for, as for Deanna she went with my husband and he couldn't sat anything bad about her. Alex is tremendous at what he does, he is a very talented guy who understands pacing and getting the kids engaged and up and dancing. He was also fabulous at keeping us prepped throughout the evening, for example telling us to get ready for our speech in 3 minutes, that the next song is father/daughter etc.....He played our suggested songs, but for the most part we let him guide us on music and order of ceremony and it was a smart decision on our part. We booked Jimmy Dee for our wedding and was very very dissatisfied with their services. First of all, during toast time, the MC totally forgot that my cousin(who gave me away) was to do a toast, how can you forget such an important thing? And when I asked him about it, he acted like he didn't know that he was to do a speech, although my husband confirmed everything a few days before the wedding. Second, the DJ, inexperienced person that he is, did not bother to play all the songs on our requested playlist, we had to come up to him a few times to remind him of the playlist. Why bother asking us to put together a list when you going to do what you want anyway? He plays music that you can't dance to, doesnt know how to read the crowd! I specifically put down no Beyonce music and he played 'Single ladies'. Really?? We spent all this money for what again?? And when I wrote an email addressing my disappointment to the manager, he had excuses, even lied to me to cover up for his staff's incompetence. He made me feel like I'm crazy and that I'm only complaining so I can get something free. I had an appointment booked with them for today, I was excited and psyched up because I am getting married in seven months. I was excited to talk with them today, to hear about their packages and what they had to offer, and especially witness their "professional service" that had been talked about by a few people. Apparently that "professional service" is nothing but a MYTH because my appointment for today was not only cancelled by them, but it turns out that they had already booked themselves for our wedding day already! I have never seen such a horrible display rudeness and lack of courtesy and professionalism. Things happen, mistakes happen, but wouldn't it have been nice to let the people who were leaving work early to make sure they got to YOU on time a bit more notice??? Or how about if you booked that day already that you let the bride and groom know so that they don't continue wasting their time hoping that you can do the wedding? Perhaps we were on the back burner, a convenient second choice for that day in case the first choice cancelled? I am absolutely disgusted by this company and I will make sure no one that I know even considers them for any business. Am I angry? You damn right I am angry. Before our wedding, we filled out questionnaires about how we wanted the flow of the night as well as specific requests. On the day of the wedding, JP and his team made sure everything was perfect. He kept everyone on the dance floor the whole night. He came up to us multiple times to make sure we were happy with everything and if we needed anything. He exceeded all of our expectations. While planning our wedding, my husband and I quickly noticed there are as many photographers & DJ's to choose from as there are venue's. During our research we wondered what sets each company apart from the other. Hollow Brook Golf Club recommended checking out Jimmy Dee entertainment for our wedding! From our first meeting in the old white plains studio, we noticed their professionalism, talent and passion for what they do! That's what set's them apart. They understand all brides are on a budget of some sort and have great package deals and options for all. They also have great hours during the week, which makes it easy to contact them. We were planning our wedding in NY from Boston & their quick email response and phone calls made it really easy for us to plan. In addition to easy online payments. My husband and I chose an MC & DJ very early on in our wedding planning. A few weeks before our event, we found out our MC was no longer with the company. Richie and the team at Jimmy Dee handled this beautifully and immediately put us in touch with a replacement MC for our wedding day. James was absolutely amazing and met every expectation we had hoped for. They stuck with our timeline, made a beautiful slideshow for us that was played on the big screens after dinner, and of course played the best music while honoring our requests for not playing certain songs. We were thrilled with Jimmy Dee, and our emcee, Alex! He was so professional and brought a fantastic team with him to our party venue. He answered e-mails promptly and answered our questions every time. The dancers were fabulous without being provocative. The photo booth never backed up. The music was great, and Alex kept the party moving and was completely in sync with the mood of the kids. He had great ideas for games, and just had boundless energy and charisma without being manic. He treated our daughter with respect (like an older cousin), and treated the kids beautifully. He was fun and upbeat. jimmy dee is the most fantastic dj around - this is the second affair i booked with them and we've asked alex to "hold the date" for a bar mitzvah coming up in a few years. the wedding he entertained for in 2010 was a blast, i never dance but alex 's enthusiasm had me on the dance floor the whole time. the bat mitzvah this june was so much fun that at midnight nobody wanted to leave including the adults. everyone is still talking about what a fabulous time they had. the recording booth was a huge success, the games alex played with the guests were so much fun and there wasn't a complaint from anyone. i received compliment after compliment about the dj, dancers and the entertainment he provided. his staff was polite, curteous, involved and just fun to be around, they made the party what it was. if you are looking for endless fun don't hesitate to contact jimmy dee. read more

We just used Jimmy Dee as a D.J. for our daughter's Bat Mitzvah. Mike was our MC and he was really awesome! Mike had all the kids and adults up on the dance floor for the whole party. Mike was very professional and also a lot fun and really knew how to throw a great party! My daughter had requested specific games she wanted to have at the party and Mike had all the kids out there playing those games and more. Jimmy Dee's services were phenomenal!!! My husband and I had a beautiful August wedding at the Dumbo Loft in Brooklyn and we booked the following: DJ (Corey), MC (Nelson), Photographer (Manny via Fantasy Flash), DJ booth & up-lighting units through Jimmy Dee Productions. I mainly coordinated with DJ Corey from the day we booked till the day of our wedding and he was the BEST! He was very easy to work with, super upbeat, & very responsive whenever I had any questions or concerns leading up to our big day. A few weeks leading up to and the actual day of our wedding, Corey went above and beyond. This was the first time Jimmy Dee worked with our venue so Corey took the time to meet in advance at our space to discuss the logistics when it came to coordinating the agenda for the day, setup & layout and our music selection. On the day of our wedding, Corey and our MC truly made are day very spectacular! The insight they provided us along with their up-lighting and DJ equipment transformed the event space, making the night into a magical evening. The music was awesome! We gave DJ Corey a small selection and he just ran with it and played the best music - a mash-up of Today's Hits, Hip Hop, Soul and some throw-backs! Everyone enjoyed the music and dancing, and I actually had a few friends & relatives come up to me later on and mention that they usually don't dance, and that night saying how great the music and entertainment was - they tore up the dance floor! haha Nelson, our MC, was the entertainer of the night! He was full of energy and really outgoing that he along with Corey, hyped our guest the entire night! As for photography, through Jimmy Dee, we booked Manny via Fantasy Flash. Manny was fantastic and we absolutely love his photography style. We booked him for our engagement photos and the day of our wedding. Our engagement photos turned out AMAZING! We did our photoshoot around Dumbo, Brooklyn. During our photoshoot Manny gave great direction, he's very light-hearted and his professional attitude created a comfortable and natural atmosphere. As for the day of the wedding, him and his wife (who is also a photographer) captured every moment of our big day; from getting ready to unwinding at the end of the night with friends and family. Manny has a unique and creative style; he has a knack for seeing a shot that most people would miss and also the ability to capture people in the moment. We would highly recommend Jimmy Dee, as well as Fantasy Flash, to any of our friends for an event - or even use them ourselves if we decided to host a future event!! I would give them ZERO stars if I could! I was referred to this company by a friend who knew someone who worked here and said to ask for ALEX who I hear is amazing. So I am not going to speak about everyone however J.P is and was by far the worst MC I have ever met. Not only did he do a horrible job at the wedding he was nasty to myself(the bride) as well as my guests. He promised me the world and was like an entirely different person the night of the wedding. He stayed behind the DJ booth the entire night and never came out. Myself and my husband as well as a few guests had to say something to him repeatedly through the night. He was refusing to do requests when he said he would absolutely take them. My guests complained to me the entire night which was exaxtly what i didnt want. JP promised me that i would be a happy bride and i was miserable. At the end of the night my brother tried to surprise me with a dance and the DJ RUINED it because he wouldn't play the song. My sister came to me and said my brother was trying to surprise me and I had to go tell the DJ to play the song. I am so disappointed with the whole experience I wish I never ever hired him!
