Craig was both our DJ and our officiant. He met with us twice before the wedding to ensure we had the perfect ceremony. I knew exactly what I wanted and he was more than willing to oblige, as well as offer examples of ceremonies he had done previously. For music, we had our major songs picked out, but left the rest of the evening up to Craig. Our friends STILL talk about how awesome the music was, more than five years later. We got married in a barn and the dance floor had to be replaced after our wedding from our guests dancing and jumping on it ALL night. Craig and his assistant Stacy DJ'd and officiated our recent wedding and honestly they were freaking amazing. Craig was great in the run up to the wedding - he answered our questions, helped us work on both a playlist and a ceremony script, and communicated with our coordinator to make sure everything ran smoothly the day of. We are so glad we had Craig do the music and officiating for our ceremony. Stacy played all our music on cue and Craig was a great officiant. He let us have complete control over everything we wanted to do and say, respected the vibe we said we wanted, and of course most importantly sent in our marriage license as soon as he was able. We also got SO many compliments on his DJing from all our guests. He played the songs we asked for while also being able to read the room and know what songs would or wouldn't go over well. We had people dancing from the second the floor opened till we closed it down at midnight. Shoutout to Stacy as well who went above and beyond to help a family member with shuttle information when she totally didn't have to. I have been to many Trivia Nights hosted by Craig and Big Boy Entertainment. I can always say I have a great time. With such a wide range of questions ANYONE can have a great time and feel intelligent. I read previous reviews about Big Boy and Craig DJing weddings and asked him to do mine. I cannot express how much fun I, and all of our guests, had. Not that I expect any less from Craig and BBE, but the experience was great and very easy going. Craig is extremely attentive and had great ideas for us and our guests. The Big Boy trivia style has such a variety of questions that it's a fun way to get together with friends and compete for prizes! Craig from Big Boy Entertainment was a phenomenal DJ at our wedding last night (yes, we loved his services so much, we wanted to give him a great review as soon as possible)! When meeting with him for the first time, we knew he understood our different taste in music and worked with us to create the perfect playlist for the night. A lot of weddings have a DJ who plays just what is on the radio and calls it a night. Not Craig -- he knew we liked everything from classic rock to '80s to hard-to-find songs and blended everything together to keep people dancing and having a great time throughout the night. One of the best parts about having Craig be a Renaissance Man-of-sorts was he was also our JP and when we said we wanted our former professor to hold the ceremony the ceremony, Craig very happily obliged and gave us the "Spaceballs"-style vows later on so it could be official. It gave us the option of adding a very personal touch to our ceremony, while not having to trust our fate with "ordained on the internet" hassle Every request we asked of Craig was met with a "no problem," which made him a pleasure to work with. And, coming from the bride, being able to put our absolute trust in the DJ gave us that much more freedom to enjoy the night, which we absolutely did. He did a great job of introducing all the events and everything we wanted our guests to know about. One big thing we forgot to tell him was we had hated weddings where the music was blasting so loud no one could have a conversation over it or the DJ would like the sound of his own voice so much, they would talk more than play music. We didn't have to worry about either of these things with Craig at all. Craig found just the perfect volume where I, along with other guests could stop their conversations to shout, "Oh! I love this song!" And he was very modest about speaking, only using the microphone when needed. We absolutely would recommend him for any event and his prices were very reasonable. Without a doubt, I wouldn't go to anyone else with my DJing needs. He's a great guy and we were so lucky to have him be a part of our wedding! read more

We had the BEST experience with our wedding and reception thanks to Craig and his business. We were so well taken care of on our big day AND on the days leading up to it. Craig was extremely professional, punctual, kind and accommodating--especially to the fact that we were not at all a traditional couple having a traditional ceremony. We especially appreciated the very quick and easy forms to fill out ahead of time that helped guide what music choices needed to made; I am the CLASSIC anti-bride--meaning I don't care about the thousand details upon details that traditionally/stereotypically "brides" are concerned with, so I really REALLLLLY appreciated the simplicity of the forms (and how each one had an option to customize or leave blank details that didn't pertain to how you were doing your ceremony or reception.) Craig even popped in quickly to check on both my (now) husband and me before the ceremony to make sure our nerves weren't too out of whack. Highlight: My twin sister lost her husband a year and a half ago and I asked her kind of spur of the moment to do a sort of toast during the reception(I told you--this was not a traditional affair.) So she, courageously, through tears got up and wanted to share a song that she'd just heard by Tony Award winner Cyntia Erivo from "The Color Purple." It was on YouTube and she was standing up there in front of everyone having trouble retrieving the video. (Did I mention we got married on an island?) I jumped up to stand next to her for moral support as soon as I saw her tears (#twinpower). Then, I yelled up the hill to where Craig was set up "Craig, can you play this song by Cyntia that my sister is trying to find?!" "I sure can!" He yelled back. He asked for a couple details, I had my 10 year old nephew run my twin's phone with said details up to him, but I don't even think he needed it because about 45 seconds later, we were all listening--loud and clear--to the song my sister had dedicated as a toast to my husband and me. Craig's willingness to go with the flow in that moment was priceless and is something that I will never forget. He didn't have to say yes to that, but he did because that's the kind of person he is, and that's the kind of absolute quality he delivers. And in case you're wondering, he KNOWS music. I've seen his collection. That alone is refreshing in a day and time when there is a lot of---ummm--noise on the radio. I'm thankful for his work ethic, his dedication and his presence at an important moment in my life. He provided the soundtrack so beautifully. My friends and I have been going to Craig's trivia nights for the last few years. His trivia nights are the best: good mix of questions, good pace and great hosts. We are pub trivia connoisseurs, going out once or twice a week for almost three years now. As a result, we have high standards, and we always have a good time when Big Boy Trivia is running the show. There are some really amateur trivia hosts out there in CT, but not Craig. You can tell he has been doing this for years. The questions are well done and creative, the game moves fast, and you can always hear what is going on (which isn't the case with some other guys.) If you need something to do on a weeknight around New Haven, just go find a trivia night with Craig, I'm sure you'll enjoy it. read more

Craig did our wedding this weekend. He was extremely flexible with us seeing as how we didn't allow a lot of time for planning. All of our guests had a blast, which is refreshing when you are so worried about everything going right on the wedding day. Craig was both our justice of the peace and our DJ, and did a great job putting playlists together for us. Any music he added to our requested playlists fit perfectly with our style. Craig is a very likeable guy, and he was very helpful up front re planning music selections and set-up. In the end, though we booked 5 months ahead of time and paid him per schedule, he greeted me on my arrival at the church on the wedding day by stating that he had booked 2 more gigs last minute right before and after ours, essentially he was in a rush, had arrived early and forgotten from a week before that we had officially changed the start time from 5-6pm, though this was also mentioned as an intention months before. Also something about equipment he was missing because he has to lend it out to a buddy...at the point I zoned out on him, not what you want to hear as you are about to walk down the aisle. Actually I wish Craig well and worry that he just can't say no, overextends himself, and needs to take better care of himself. In the end, he played most of what we wanted as we requested on the detailed planned play list, and we all had a great time . My only true disappointment is that he did not have the recessional music ready and playing as we were ready to walk out of the ceremony, so after a few awkward moments without any music, we started down the aisle before the music began. Later I encouraged him to take a break to eat something but then had a complaint that he disappeared and didn't play any music at all while we went back into the sanctuary for some formal poses after dinner was served. I had to go get him out of the kitchen. I understand there were things Craig did to help our photographer, who is professional but also a friend, and that the photographer agreed to help Craig breakdown his set-up and carry equipment out to save him time and prevent him from shutting down too early - this I just learned last week and was the last straw that promoted me to write this review. read more

They recently hosted an Alan Walker concert at Foxwoods for which I had tickets. After driving for 2 hours from Boston to Connecticut I waited a few hours thinking there would be a long line. When I got there nobody was working the doors until like 10 minutes before the venue was scheduled to start. A lot of other people were wondering if they were at the right place since there were no signage or any indications in front of the concert hall. At that time I asked the head of security from Big Boy Entertainment, who ran the doors for the concert how long the opening act for Alan Walker would be and he replied "maybe a couple of hours long." I was surprised to find that out since I hadn't been to a concert in a while. At the time he clearly saw my attire which was a jacket and nice sweatpants on. So I decided to do some gambling until Alan Walker's main show started. So after losing a few hundred dollars I got in line for the concert only to be stopped by the security. They gave me a smirk and said "you can't go in with that on." I then questioned them as to what was so inappropriate about my attire. Being that in all of Alan Walker's concerts overseas, just about everyone wears a hoodie. Alan Walker himself wears a hoodie for all his concerts and the fans support him by doing the same. I then proceeded to tell the security that earlier I had spoken to the head security about the concert and he made absolutely no mention about what I was wearing as being inappropriate for the concert. They still adamantly refused to allow me in. Then I saw the guy in line who got to go in without any problems only wearing a T-shirt and jeans with dirty shoes. So at that point I asked them to explain to me exactly what I could not wear to get in. They just laughed and said "anything but what you are wearing!" At that point I gave up and realized that I had been singled out and for whatever reason they didn't want me in. They were very unprofessional and completely rude. I can't imagine anyone trusting them to service even a small event. I would give them 0 stars if I could. read more
