My wife and I stayed here both at the beginning and at the end of our tour here at West Point. The free breakfast and gym are pretty good. Front desk personnel have been helpful except for one. While there is room for improvement, I enjoyed my stay at Hyatt House. I liked that the pool and hot tub were empty pretty much every time I attempted to use them. The pool was cold and my kids didn't stay in there long - would be great to have a pool that was warmer. The hot tub was quite warm and 15 minutes at a time was sufficient for me. I was a bit disappointed with the dishes/utensils that they had. The rooms did not have can openers - during my last several stays at these types of accommodations, there was always a can opener in the kitchen area, in addition to a few more items than they had here. We were eventually able to use one but there were staff who said they had never seen a can opener there. Also, for example, the nonstick coating on the 2 pots provided was highly scratched and the cooking utensils were all the ones with the black coating that is now out of favor. The rooms are not "deep cleaned" as far as the baseboards being dusty and there being residual hairs from previous guests in the bathroom crevices. That being said, it was generally clean looking and although the sofa bed has been through some wear and tear, it worked fine. I will say that the painting and repainting team did a great job as the walls that I saw were spotless and without discoloration. The rugs in the hallways could also stand to be updated. I would say that the conditions did not detract from the stay at the price we paid. It was a great value. I imagine that making the updates I mentioned might drive up the price. Anyways, I'd stay again but I might pack a few more things if I was intending to cook. Yes, there is a Walmart right across the parking lot, but I also don't want to buy a bunch of things I already have at home. My family members who have stayed here, recommended it and generally speaking, I was not disappointed (pool and hot tub almost all to ourselves, they provided free breakfast with hot food, generally clean, working kitchen, convenient location). read more

The Hyatt House Fishkill is fine--nothing outstanding, but it gets the job done for a comfortable stay. The Stay The accommodations were adequate, but I had an issue with the shower gel being empty. I reported it to the front desk, but no one refilled it during my stay. When I brought it up again the next day to the same staff member, she was apologetic and added points to my World of Hyatt account, which was a nice gesture to make up for the oversight. Room Amenities While the rooms are generally well-equipped, I'll note that Hyatt hotels, in general, should consider adding bidets. At this price point and with the brand's reputation, it's a feature that would elevate the guest experience. Overall Hyatt House Fishkill offers a satisfactory stay, but a bit more attention to detail in service would go a long way. Okay stay at a Hyatt House that has lost some of its luster. Quality seems to have slipped since my last visit. The hotel chain, which has updated its logo but not its furniture, no longer provides guests with complimentary bottled water, and the name brand toiletries are gone. This had been my go-to hotel for upstate New York travel. I love the location, which is across from a Super Walmart and within walking distance to the Hudson Valley Town Center shops, restaurants, and movie theater. Liz the front desk manager provided a warm welcome upon check-in, but a few unfortunate incidents soon followed. Cleanliness 3/5 First, upon entering the room, I did a quick cleaning with alcohol wipes and found a few hairs, one on the bathroom counter and one in the bathtub. This wasn't a "deep cleaning," either, so housekeeping could be a little more thorough. There was also visible mold above the shower. Housekeeping 2/5 Next, the housekeeper on duty refused to provide an additional towel to use at the pool because, "There are already towels there." I asked her again on my way to the pool, but she was adamant that, "There are already towels there." Pool 2/5 I was then annoyed to find only two towels in the pool area, both small and starchy, the kind you use to dry your face with. Note to management: There is no national towel shortage. The next time a guest requests an additional towel to use at the pool, please instruct housekeeping to provide one. Not only that, but the pool water was perfect for polar bears: absolutely freezing. This was a huge disappointment. When I brought this to Liz's attention she responded, "I'll call maintenance to check on this." I later heard a man open the pool door and yell to his wife, "The water is really cold!" Breakfast 4/5 While the hot breakfast buffet was okay, by 6:30 am guests from a trucking conference had overtaken the entire seating area, and someone was giving a long-winded speech about good apprenticeship while I secured my scrambled eggs. Since there were no available seats, I brought a plate of food and coffee back to my room. Several wedding celebrations were also being held at the hotel, which made the slow elevator wait somewhat tedious. Overall it was a pleasant stay at a Hyatt House whose painted walls and wooden furniture are showing signs of wear. I paid $150 including tax for a weekday visit and will likely return, but not before calling to ensure that the indoor pool is not being used by Yetis. read more

This is the second time we have stayed here. We like the location to various things we want to do like Hyde Park and the walk over the Hudson. The first time we enjoyed it, this time was a different experience. When we pulled in there were three cop cars at the entrance. We asked what happened and were told there was a situation with a guest. Our room was clean but the mattress was like sleeping on a cheap 20 yr old mattress. We both woke up with bad back pain. The USB plugs through the room did not work. They were vacuuming the hallway at 8:45 at night outside of our room. Forget the pool/hot tub. It was full from 4-9:30 and no one was restocking towels. I stay at hyatts almost exclusively, and we always utilize the breakfast buffet in the morning - but this one was terrible. The breakfast potatoes were so overcooked they were powdery. The pancakes were cold, no one refilled the fruit until we were done eating (this was 45 mins waiting for them to refill it) when they finally did it was just a bowl of blueberries. Not a typical Hyatt experience like we are used to. I will say the person working the front desk was pleasant and seemed to handle the long lines well without getting stressed but in the 48 hours we have been here I haven't seen anyone else at that desk - so to say they are working that many hours - kudos to them for being so pleasant! read more

Great overnight stay at Hyatt House in Fishkill. Room was quiet and clean, air conditioning was wonderful, shower was solid, yummy breakfast, and beds were very comfortable. Convenient location - right off I-84. Stores and restaurants nearby (Walmart is walking distance) in case you need anything during your stay. Deanna (hope I'm spelling that correctly) greeted us at check in. She was so friendly, welcoming, and efficient. Deanna greeted us in the morning with a smile and, "Good morning." She is a great representative for your hotel as the "first face" guests encounter at the front desk. Similarly, cleaning staff in the hallways always smiled and said, "Hello." Needed to drive into town, change, and be at a party by 4:30pm. Called the day before to request a 3:00pm check in. Room was ready for us and we were ready for the party on time after our long drive! My husband and I had an extended stay from mid January to the last day of March; we had a King Suite (full kitchen, living room and king bedroom with en-suite bathroom) I have to say every single staff member was wonderful, friendly and accommodating. Liz at the front desk had to change our check in date several times as we coordinated with our movers facing an incoming snow storm, I think I called her 4 times within an hour. She was so reassuring and patient. Just great ! Amanda, in housekeeping was lovely. She takes pride in her work and took such good care of us. What a gem for Hyatt House. Colin and Conor at the front desk were great too. We got packages often and they always made sure we got them. Always friendly and the freshly made popcorn at around 3:30 pm was the height of my husband's day! Carl at the H Bar cooked up some tasty food for us - our Super Bowl wings were delicious! I stayed here for one night while attending an event at Marist College. Don't be fooled by the Poughkeepsie in the name since it's about 14 miles from the college. The hotel is located just off of I-84 and close to lots of shopping and restaurants. The hotel was clean and the check-in and out process was very smooth. The staff was very friendly. A free breakfast buffet was offered in the morning but I did not partake in it. My room on the 3rd floor was clean and everything worked to perfection. The price of the room was very reasonable and since it included a nice buffet, it was an excellent value. There is a pool as well as a gym. Free parking which is always a bonus. My family took a trip to Poughkeepsie for a family function. We decided to stay at this Hyatt House mainly because we stayed at one in Tampa, Fla. We WERE expecting the same type of experience. Well, you guessed it..no nowhere close. First of all the hotel was dated. I wouldn't make a deal about it if it was another brand or if this hotel was near the beach/vacation area. But this is Fishkill, not a vacation destination. There were signs of wear and tear from the front kitchen area to the baseboards to the bathroom and carpet. When my wife said something to the front desk, it wasn't taken seriously enough for them to do anything. I know over the last few years major hotels have been buying up smaller, well-known hotels like LaQuinta for instance, (Wyndham), and putting them under their umbrella. Marriott bought Sheraton and all of their smaller brands about 8 years ago. Sometimes they don't take the time or find it necessary to upgrade/remodel/improve those properties. The breakfast was mediocre at best. They cut up toasted white bread and tried to pass it off as French toast....WoW. I skipped breakfast and just drove home to Maryland. We have family in Poughipsee and we visit often. I won't be staying there again. read more

We did have a pleasant 2 night stay here. Everything was very clean. Pool and hot tub well maintained. All of the staff were super friendly and accommodating. It was nice to get a complimentary hot breakfast, instead of the grab 'n go that we've become accustomed to. On site food and beverages were very limited. The market was practically empty of product. Fortunately there are many restaurants, liquor stores and Walmart nearby. Overall a nice average hotel without many amenities. For the type of hotel that it is which is nothing spectacular, it does everything right. In town for a wedding and this was one of the preferred places to stay. Plenty of free parking, check in easy and professional. Rooms are exactly like every other Hyatt house right down to the artwork in the bathroom. Bedroom, living room, desk, and kitchen area. Rooms are spacious and spotless. AC works well & shower is sufficient. Free very good breakfast buffet in the morning & the staff is very friendly. Direct TV with plenty of stations to choose from and free Wi-Fi. Bed & linens are very good. If I were to give the place marks off, it would be the door in the bathroom is all damaged on the bottom and needs to be fixed or replaced it looks terrible. Housekeeping did not come as we arrived back after 3PM on a Saturday to prepare for the event so I had to call down to the front desk to make sure they would come by this evening & to bring towels. The phone at the desk did not work either so I had to call the front desk from my cell. Little things but they are important in the scheme of things. read more

This hotel was very clean. Check-in was smooth and quick. Upon check-in, if you want to use the pool, you need to make reservations first. They are only allowing about 10 people or 3 rooms to use the pool every hour. The room and bathroom were clean and spacious. It is a convenient location, right across from Walmart. Breakfast was ok, they had yogurt, cereals, french toast.. however I was sad there were no eggs for hot food. They had plenty of fruits and drinks. They were very covid conscious, everyone was given gloves to wear while picking out the foods. The fruits were wrapped up and they had brown bags for you to take your food upstairs to your room. There was always coffee on the side, at all hours of the day. Overall, I would definitely stay here again. read more

Two night stay 1/20-22/19. Friendly customer service upon check-in. We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite with 2 bathrooms, kitchen and a sizable living room with fold out bed. This accommodated our family of 6. My 2 complaints are: when we entered our room, I noticed one of the trash bins in the rooms wasn't completely empty. It had a lotion box still inside. Second, one of the restroom sinks had a slow drain. When I brought it up to the front desk the next morning they said maintenance would fix it. But upon returning that evening, the sink was still the same. It was a major inconvenience because the water would accumulate which was gross and drain out later leaving residue. What I enjoyed is the complimentary breakfast. The breakfast foods and the made to order omelet bar was great! Everything was always stocked and never messy. The location is convenient also. There's a Walmart, Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts and some places to eat nearby. Overall, I would recommend this hotel. read more

This hotel was good because I liked the big building and room for my me and my friends to hang out. I also liked that the hotel was near many stores so that me and my family were able to get things easily. What I didn't like was that my dad got a room with king sized bed and a pullout couch however we checked the website the day we were checking in and our room was downgraded to a standard king room . We had some trouble with the people on the phone who couldn't transfer us to the sales office which was pretty annoying. After a long discussion we had our room back. We stayed here 2 nights and really loved it! It was snowing outside and as soon as you walk in there's such a cozy environment with an awesome fireplace perfect for winding down or sitting and relaxing indoors. The staff was really friendly and everything was very tidy and clean. They have an indoor swimming pool, wish we would've brought our swimsuits! It's all good though we did enjoy their complimentary breakfast each morning. They had a nice little variety and Seattle's best coffee in the brew! Nearby there's a Walmart, a movie theatre and a small shopping center in case you need to run out and get anything. They also have a bar in the premises. The rooms are very clean and really nice. We stayed in a 2 room suite and it was wonderful! Would definitely stay here again especially since it's really close to Beacon where you can go out and get some drinks or eat really good food! read more

We came here for a wedding. It's located off highway 9, across from Walmart is a medley of hotels, including this one. The lobby is very inviting and the staff greeted us with a smile. Housekeeping SUCKED! Whoever was in charge of room 330 didn't take our trash, or make the bed. The only thing we got were fresh towels... No fresh soaps or shampoos, no refill of toilet paper, and our empty box of Kleenex wasn't refilled. The breakfast buffet was good. There's even a made to order omelet bar. Free parking onsite, and indoor pool. I wish I could give 4 stars but given the lousy housekeeping (and it wasn't just my room, my parents in 320 experienced it, too) it's 3 stars for A-ok, nothing more. read more

Upon entering the hotel it was very nice and the man at the front desk was extremely nice and enthusiastic about helping. I felt the bed was comfortable and there was a nice big tv in the room also. I do however have two small complaints. 1 I went to get a glass cup out since i had brought drinks, and the glasses were dirty. I called the front desk and they quickly brought up clean glasses for us. 2 the shower door did not stay closed so I had to hold it the whole time. Which was not convenient The breakfast was pretty big AND they had an omelette bar!!! I have never seen an omelette bar at a complementary breakfast so I took advantage of this and I am glad I did. First let me say, I was here for work so I did not fully use all of the amenities. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I stayed in a 1 bedroom king size with kitchen and living room. Awesome! My room was clean, kitchen was fully equipped with utensils, pots and pans, etc. A tv in the living room and one in the bedroom. The bathroom had clean towels and the shower was very clean. Oh it's a standup shower, no tub. I literally used the room to shower and sleep because I was in the conference room all day. I enjoyed breakfast, they have an omelette bar. You can make your own or try the daily special. They have your basic breakfast food like cereal, different types of bread, oatmeal, boiled eggs, pancakes, hash browns, bacon, etc. I included the photos I took to give you an idea. read more

A wonderful hotel with ample parking! Very nice for category 1 Hyatt. My wife and I got upgraded to a suite. All you have to do is ask sometimes! The lobby has two fireplaces, which creates a cozy atmosphere. We got room 223. Three rooms and very spacious. Full kitchen and utensils. Desk and very comfy sectional couch (suitable for two children to sleep on). Room temperature in room that controlled central air actually worked! Set it to 68 if you like it slightly cooler or 70 of you're chilly. Nice lamps in the room and a big mirror for a his and hers bathroom vanity. Weird quirks: no outlets in bathroom and the light switch is located outside of the bathroom. Also, room 223 (and probably most rroms on the 2nd floor) are located on the lower part of the roof where the generators are so there's not much of a view. No biggy. There are other amenities that I didn't take advantage of like free breakfast (630am-930am) and a huge list of "borrows," (thats what they call iy here for thinhs you can borrow) like a blender, a yoga kit, or board games (see my pic of a full list.) With Hyatt's borrows, you won't have to bring along your barbeque utensils or laundry basket. Seriously. Those are on the list. read more

This is a nice overnight stay while visiting the Fishkill area. Although the hotel was under construction we were not disrupted during our time there. The room we were given on the third floor was lovely and clearly updated. This is one of the best included breakfast we had at a hotel. There was an omelette station where we were asked to fill out a slip with your selections and they bring it to your table. There was a good selection of cold and hot options which I enjoyed. We were greeted by a very wonderful host. I believe his name was Ryan. He was very pleasant and efficient. However he did plug the diner across the street which was not good at all! Front desk is a crap shoot - a couple of nice people mixed with quite a few terrible people. We came to Fishkill for a friend's wedding and since everyone else was staying at the Hyatt House we decided to do the same! This is a wonderful little hotel right across the street from the Walmart and just a hop skip and a jump from downtown. Fishkill has a surprising number of delicious restaurants in the area. I had never heard of the city before so didn't think much of it before I came! The Hyatt House is stylish, homey with great service. We arrived late at night and they had already arranged all our information so as soon as we arrived, we went straight to our room. Our room was clean, neat and a great view of the city. They have an indoor pool and hot tub as well as a 24 hour gym that has quite a bit of equipment for a hotel of this size. They have free wifi, breakfast in the morning and a little store downstairs with wine/champagne and snacks if you need it. There's plenty of parking outside so that should never be an issue! read more

OVERCHARGED - Back in April 2018, I checked into the Hyatt House Extended Stay Hotel-Fishkill. I stayed there approximately one year. The hotel is required to charge state and local guest taxes on my room for only 90 consecutive days in the State of NY. After 90 days they are not required to charge this guest tax. However the Hyatt's billing system was not setup to stop taking these taxes after the required 3 months. Therefore I was overcharged 8.125% for the next 9 months until the end of April 2019. I have all the billing receipts (as well as my banking statements). When I complained to management I was told I needed to file a refund application with NY State. However I believe it is unfair for me as the customer to correct Hyatt's billing error. Hyatt House should credit the money back to me and then recoup the money they accidentally sent to NY State. read more

This was the nastiest and most unprofessional hotel I've ever been to. The night staff (wouldn't give me their names) front desk clerk and laundry attendant were very rude. I asked for new sheets and towels because the ones we had were dirty and it took them forever. When they finally came down to our room they kicked our door extremely hard instead of knocking and said "you finally opened the door" and basically threw the towels and pillows at me. I asked him "are you going to take the dirty ones?" He waved me off and said just throw them outside. We didn't even get our sheets that we asked for so I had to go to the desk and the desk clerk was on her phone as I was telling her my grievances about the terrible service we jus experienced. We eventually got our linens but it shouldn't have taken all of that. Our shower curtain was EXTREMELY FILTHY and we barely got any tissue on our 4 night stay. Overall this is an old hotel that's not clean and has terrible service. The good reviews are obviously fake. read more

Not EV users friendly. My electric vehicle has the capability to use a regular 110 volt outlet (if I can plug in a bread toaster then I can charge my car) I asked the front desk for a regular electric outlet in the parking lot area (like I have done in other hotels) and the answer was "No, we don't have any outlets outside, you can go across the highway and plug it in over there". It looks like Hyatt is still in the 90's when people didn't care about clean energy. read more

I would have rated this hotel a zero if possible. I recently traveled there(July 13th 2019) from NC on our trip to Vermont. I was relaxing in the spa when I decided to head back to my room. As I was walking around the pool to get my things, I fell on the floor. It was unknowingly extremely slippery. Floor was covered in mats other than a couple of section gaps. I fell and hurt my wrist, toe and hip. I could have been more seriously injured. I had to spend the rest of my summer vacation sore and bruised. The management and insurance have offered nothing. There was no notice of the slippery area and how hazardous it was. I would NEVER go here again. If you decide to go here, I would do so with extreme caution. read more
