We had a suite on the 3rd Floor. We booked this hotel because it was said to have Air conditioning. You were supposed to tell the front desk what temp you wanted your rooms they control, so they say. We had an in window unit also. Next thing you know, we had big beetle/bugs in our room! Killed 6 of them. Gross. The desk told us there was an infestation in the area and there was nothing they could do. They were most likely coming in from the in window ac unit. And, that unit did nothing to cool and neither did the hotel ac. Today as we got out of bed, the floor was damp and sticky. On our way back to LA!!! Yeah! read more

It is truly amazing in it architectural use if one if the narrowest plots in Beacon, to create a whole, well flowing machine. This is still in progress. Alex ur Meghan will great you if the phone is answered (they prefer you to book and take care of it yourself.) The room (know who I was but not tell me) they kindly gave my their 4th floor. This is where you want to stay! Like most boutique hotel here down falls. The oetson take make include a ton of puffy things on your bed to hanging from the wall. If grey gl in furry is your thing . Relax by the fhrolacr. Outside is the magic. A roof top drck. A porch on your own room. However you won't find fellow hikers here, any who cares fur nature. This is to fit, shop, overhear their straggly plans to expand,. Owner will drive you home and you find out how much your brother-in-law- helped pay to send the owners son to Hotchkiss. Pack chic, not real Channel - but enough so they speak with out in the guest area- they use for their business meetings at night. While drinking the wine fur guests - enjoying their fire. What a lovely weekend at the Dutchess Inn & Spa. My husband and I checked in on a Friday and left on Sunday. We were greeted by the wonderful Megan who graciously showed us around before our massages. Leading up to the trip, she also helped me via telephone strategize massage & hydrotherapy bookings. Our massages with Ynez were very therapeutic and relaxing -- the hydrotherapy was the perfect way to decompress. We had the absolute of privilege of staying in the Bailee Suite, which was as clean, comfy and cool as they come. Special shout out to Jessica & Lily at the front who are a delight. The location is perfect! We were walking distance to everything. (Not to mention the solarium and rooftop with a view of the whole town). This Inn is beautiful! They are pet-friendly, which we loved! They welcomed us to their apartments, and we stayed in a lovely and spacious apartment. We had plenty of room to put down their toys and the bed was comfy and it was nicely decorated! The courtyards, and rooftop deck were divine! The solarium was beautiful, the couches outside and the spa were amazing and clean!! we absolutely LOVED our couples massage! They were the best! The hydrotherapy bath was amazing and therapeutic! It was quiet and peaceful! We loved that they had water readily available in the lobby and wharehouse to fill our water bottles. It was so nice to have the boys with us and they enjoyed the stay! Pros: Great location on Main Street! Walking distance to restaurants, stores, museums, galleries and music. Charming decor, pleasant staff, comfortable bed and bed linens. Great facial by Lesley. Cons: The sink in the room we had is not in the bathroom; it's in the bedroom. We were told most rooms are this way ("a style choice") Shower is "European style" which meant no door...bathroom didn't warm up, and water seeped onto bathroom floor. Shower never got hot, only above lukewarm and only after letting it run for awhile (water wasted). You can't control your own a/c. You have to call the front desk (which closes at night) if you want it cooler or warmer. Towels were not very good; did not absorb water. Coffee maker in lobby is complimentary but not very good coffee choices. read more

The massage therapists were exceptional, the receptionist was friendly and accommodating, and we brought our own wine enjoyed it the rooftop afterwards. Let me start by saying I am not employed by The Inn and I am not related to anyone there.That said there aren't enough stars here for me to be able to describe how incredible my four day stay was at this beautiful Inn.You feel the charm as soon as you walk through the front door.The next thing that blew me away was how genuinely friendly and helpful EVERY member of the staff was.Like A parent trying to choose between their favorite child it is impossible.Again I really am not getting paid for this.All the beds and furnishings were certainly picked out by someone with great taste.The 4th floor lounge and rooftop garden were such great places to hang out. Now for the piece de resistance.What good is an Inn & Spa without A great masseuse?Again this spa blows it out of the park.Since every masseuse I had there were amazing.I had booked myself three massages in three days and then couldn't leave my last day without getting one more.Anyone who knows massages knows within the first minute if there masseuse knows what they are doing.In this case it only took seconds.From the spiritual to the physiological they were perfect. After A rough couple of weeks I gave myself A present and A little break and booked myself here for few days and am now ready to do it again.I really left there being the best of myself.AND NO I AM NOT GETTING PAID FOR THIS REVIEW!!! I had an 85 minute deep tissue massage today + hot stone with Kristen (sp?) and it was absolutely wonderful. The pressure was perfect and helped relax muscles that are tired from sitting at a desk in front of the computer all day everyday. We had a totally fabulous stay here for a long weekend in Beacon. The hotel is quaint and very comfy and our room was nicely decorated with anything we might need. The real standout of our stay was their commitment to hospitality. We scheduled use of the hot tub which is free with stay and they really gave us the 5 star treatment with candles and cool towels to use during our soak. Very nice and the hot tub was very high tech and felt luxurious. Another highlight of the hotel is the location, it's situated right on Main Street next to fabulous restaurants and little shops to explore. We would most certainly come back here, our stay was fabulous. read more

The Inn and Spa At Beacon is a super cute boutique hotel on Main Street, Beacon. I went to the spa to receive a laser hair removal treatment. Upon arrival, I was greeted very nicely, filled out the necessary paperwork & headed upstairs to my appointment room. There I was disappointed to find out that their laser equipment is geared to fair skin (with dark hair). Being a person with skin type 4-5, I was very disappointed. Mostly upset because the main demographic in Becaon is NOT fair skin and dark hair. I feel as though there is so much more business and opportunity to adhere to people of all skin tones (if there's only 'five' color types, it can't be THAT hard). The aesthetician, Krystal, was VERY nice and helpful. She explained to me the type of laser I should be looking for as a woman of color and gave me options from local offices. I felt really listened to and educated on the topic. She also gave me a microdermabrasion facial for my troubles-amazing!! so long story short: great environment, nice staff, just not inclusive when it comes to providing all services to all skin colors. I booked a weekday inn and spa package for a momma-free getaway. The newly built inn had such a unique charm & every thoughtful detail made the experience all the better. It is walking distance to all the Main Street boutiques and local restaurants. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They even remembered my name whenever I walked through the front lobby. The room itself was quaint and so peaceful. My room had a comfortable queen bed and a smaller tv, but that wasn't an issue for me. There were plenty of toiletries, robes, and towels at hand. On the top floor there is a solarium and a roof top that is a beautiful spot to hang out. During my stay there was a sunset roof top yoga! Such a wonderful way to end the day. During my stay I was able to book a massage and facial (unfortunately I cannot recall the names of the esthetician & masseuse). Both treatments were extremely relaxing...hopefully I didn't snore during any of my appointments. The continental breakfast was perfect! It felt very European: some cold cuts, cheese, fresh fruit, croissants, boiled eggs & organic yogurt. You can take your breakfast back to your room or upstairs to the solarium. This review refers to their laser hair removal treatment or lack there of. I saw their Facebook promotion for laser hair removal and inquired through email and they promptly replied and I made an appointment. When I arrived I was required to fill out an extensive amount of paperwork which is normal, I have had laser hair removal a few times in the past in other spas. My issue however is that after making the appointment, then traveling to the spa and filling out all the required paperwork I was then taken to the treatment room just to be told within the first minute of sitting down I wasn't eligible due to my skin tone. I have a medium skin tone as you can see in my profile picture, and in my picture I also have a spray tan and professional makeup on so my skin tone is naturally even lighter then it appears. I feel that if you are going to heavily promote this type of service you should be able to accommodate to a wider variety of clients rather then just those of a fair skin tone or you should at least be completely transparent to guests about your equipments limitations prior to their appointment. The esthetician was polite and offered a free skin treatment that I later went back for but I can't help but feel disappointed that they are content with only being able to service those of a certain skin tone. So before booking your appointment please know if you fall into one of the many beautiful skin tone ranges anywhere from medium, tan, brown, to dark like myself, that they will not be able to accommodate you for laser hair removal. I come to beacon often but I stayed at the Inn and Spa for the first time this weekend. I accidentally left my card key in my room and I was unable to enter the hotel when I returned after a night out. The door was locked I saw no one at the front desk. There was supposedly a sign post stating " "Hotel Guests Use Key Card For Entry Late Arrivals Or For Information Please Contact 845.205.2900". Not only did I not see this sign but to me it doesn't make it clear that someone would answer even though I saw no one at the phones. After sometime had passed I called an uber and stayed at a friend's house. Very embarrassing moment. The next day I took another uber to return to hotel in the morning to get my belongings. I told the person at the front desk and they said they would like into it. I never heard back. I wrote a review here and still heard nothing back. I heard back from them on a review from hotel.com and they said they would look into and they apologized. I called 3 more times and nothing. Today I got a email from the manager with $100 refund offer. When I said this not acceptable since the hotel cost me $300 a night and $75 in uber fees and I would write an additional review they threatened legal action against me (i changed my review from 2 stars to 1 star). We had a lovely R&R weekend here. It was the perfect combination of a cozy inn (only 10 rooms, nice ambiance) with modern amenities (pretty new building, no paper thin walls or creaky floors, firm beds). Pros: - Excellent location - right on main street in Beacon. It was so nice to walk around the cute downtown area and pop into bars and restaurants. - Pretty new inn - very clean, cozy, and quiet - Breakfast was solid - didn't blow my socks off but nice to wake up to croissants, hard-boiled eggs, Siggi's yogurt, coffee (K-cups) (particularly given that I wouldn't call this part of NY a culinary hot-spot - it's not like we were missing out on a killer brunch) - Staff is really nice - as we were checking out the owner was on-site and asked if we enjoyed our stay. Kind and friendly staff is always appreciated - Solarium with fireplace was lovely and cozy - Hot-tub was lovely Opportunities: (I will caveat this by saying that, at a certain price point there are higher expectations) - Over the weekend, brunch ran out of plates, food, and there was nowhere to sit in the Solarium. This is a 10 room inn - fairly basic math. If you're charging over $300/night, don't run out of plates and food. Have more than 3 tables in the Solarium. - I totally get what other reviewers said about the lack of temp controls in room. I understand the inn has HVAC limitations, but sometimes the room felt a bit warm/stuffy/dry. - No parking - you're relying on a nearby common lot. If I wanted to worry about parking, I'd go back to the city. Again, surprising for the price point. read more

Had an amazing night and two days staying at the Inn. It was my first time in Beacon, NY and it is such a cute town to escape to, especially if you are used to the city life. I loved how fresh and new the decor was at the Inn. The rooms were stocked with pellegrino and plenty of towels and the softest spa robes. The room had a Murphy style bed which was perfect for a little morning yoga in the room. I had a wonderful sleep and enjoyed the complimentary tea and shortbread cookies very much. The roof top was beautiful and the outdoor terrace was perfect for your morning cup of coffee! Plenty of help from the front desk who are all very friendly to get recommendations on where to eat and what to do in this cute little town of Beacon! Will be back to try the spa services! I had one of the best massage therapist I've ever had. She definitely knew her stuff considering all of my issues that I have with my neck my shoulder etc. She took the time to even look at my MRI before touching me. My boyfriend and I spent a lovely 2 nights here for our birthdays last week. Our room (301) was quiet, prettty and comfortable. It had a great walk-in shower, comfy bathrobes and was spacious. Great use of space throughout the Inn - cozy and attractive interior design, comfortable common areas and pretty views from the roof deck. The front desk was accommodating and helpful. I'd stay here again, my only recommendation to the Inn would be to supplement the continental breakfast with baguettes and other pastries to make it heartier. read more

Great open / stand-up shower. Closet had plenty of room. INN 5 stars Quaint lobby with cucumber water, tea and cookies permanently stationed near the front desk. Very welcoming vibe. Amazing breakfast on weekends (fresh fruit, fresh OJ, local yogurt, great Belgian waffles) served on the 4th Floor. We ate on the patio. Great way to start a Sunday. Location is on the west side of Main Street. Everything from the DIA and the train to Roundhouse restaurant (other end of Main St) are walkable. They're very close to having a full rooftop event space shortly. Rumor is there will be dancing at sunset which will be terrific. STAFF Friendly. Helpful. Accommodating. Besides making a great breakfast, Chris provided good Intel about hiking Mt Beacon. Kat, Jacob and Katherine were also helpful in food and shopping recommendations as well as making sure we felt welcome. It was also cool to see and meet both the owner AND the GM. There is passion for their business and it shows. Beacon is an easy drive or train ride from Manhattan lands you in a sleepy but vibrant "Main St" town chalk full of foodie joints, cool shops and art galleries...but the highlight for us is the hiking. read more

There are yoga classes at sunset and dancing under the stars. Centrally located in the artistic town of Beacon with its art galleries and DIA. Also near to Newburgh and Cold Springs!! The Spa is amazing. We had a couples 90 minute Eucalyptus massage with Melissa and Kathleen. They were the best massages we ever had!! I highly recommend this place. The Inn and Spa at Beacon provided my wife an i with an excellent ending to our weekend getaway. We both enjoyed a massage and left relaxed, and rejuvenated. The overall vibe sets this place apart from other Spa's. When you walk into the lobby you'll feel an overwhelming calm. I couldn't explain it at first, but later realized that it was noticeably quieter inside, The background "hum" most of us are just used to seemed to quite down. In some spas, the rooms feel so cramped that you feel like a sardine - it's hard to feel comfortable. That's not an issue here. Each massage room had it's own bathroom with a shower and there was plenty of room to get dressed and undressed. We didn't get a chance to stay at the hotel while in Beacon, but if they pay as much attention to the guest rooms as they do to the massage rooms, then i'm sure it'll be a great experience. Spent a weekend staying here with my husband, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The inn only has 10 rooms, so it is incredibly quiet and relaxing. All of the staff were so helpful, friendly and professional. The breakfast included is a continental breakfast table set up in the lobby which you can help yourself to and take to eat either the solarium room, outdoor terrace or your room. The coffee and croissants / fruit was great for us, but note it is a continental breakfast per the website don't expect a hot breakfast buffet. We both had massages in one of the therapy rooms. No complaints at all, was a lovely massage and therapists were great. We made use of the jacuzzi spa room, which was very relaxing. We took the train from NYC, and were able to walk to the hotel from the station only took around 10 minutes. Beacon itself is a nice town for a short break. There were a bunch of great restaurants to chose from, along with bars, gift shops and brewery. We also climbed mount beacon. There's lots to do. Please do not stay here. The owner does not value guest experiences. We were very disappointed by how disrespected and disregarded we were during this stay. Apologies for the long review but it was needed for perspective. I booked the trip 4 months early to celebrate my Mother's birthday weekend. I spoke to a very nice woman at the front desk, discussing how to best accommodate my mother, my sister and myself. We discussed, the suite (too small for us), two queen rooms (couldn't be on same floor) and a queen and snuggery room on a higher floor right next to each other (perfect!). I knew my mother would want a quiet high floor room and to be next to my sister and myself. I paid for two rooms (explicitly stated as 301 and 302) for two nights and booked 6 spa treatments back to back for Saturday afternoon. Two weeks before our stay I was called and notified they were overbooked and my sister and my massage would be in the same room... strange for siblings... but nothing we were going to complain about. One week before our stay we received another call that they were overbooked again and needed to move one of my treatments to the morning and 4 hours earlier than the others. My issue with this was that we booked 4 months early to accommodate our large booking. Why are we getting bumped? Additionally, we came for a mother daughter weekend. The point was to spend time together not get ad hoc treatments throughout the weekend. After going back and forth for 2 days we found a more appropriate solution where one person would end an hour later. (Great!) Then we arrive on Friday at 7pm. We get room 301 but then our print out has 302 crossed off and 102 written instead. Clearly someone complained about 102 (the last room available in the inn that night) because it was right next to the loud front door which slams, has a full size bed and no windows. They broke up our joint booking from 4 months prior because someone arrived earlier than us that day and complained. When we complained to the owner and managers, apparently nothing could be done (no treatment or anything comped) and we didn't even receive an apology. The owner explicitly said that he can't do anything and we are free to write a review. So here is it. Time with family is so precious, and I really wanted a nice stress free weekend with my mother. Instead we were shown multiple times that our business was not valued and our experience was less important than other guests. Aside from this experience, here are other notes for guests: - This is not a Spa. This is an Inn with two treatment rooms. Before our treatment we were invited to wait in the Solarium which has 4 wooden chairs. Then after my first treatment, I was asked to stand in the hallway while they cleaned the next room for me. That said, the two massage therapists we had were excellent -The coffee served in the morning is a Keurig machine. If you've come here for a relaxing weekend and enjoy your coffee in the morning you will need to go out and get it. I've never stayed at an Inn that didn't brew its own real coffee - The beds are very soft and very small - The people working the front desk were very kind and tried to be helpful but I think the lack of organization and lack of responsibility given to them makes them powerless to help guests - The food in Beacon was outstanding with excellent and friendly waitstaff I was hoping to turn this place to a frequent weekend getaway for my husband and myself but clearly we would not be welcome here. I will try Roundhouse or The Beacon Hotel next time. Hope this place doesn't ruin celebrations for others going forward. read more

My older daughter booked a spa weekend for my birthday 2 months ago. She was also to be married few months. This was to be our girls' weekend before she got married. She booked 2 rooms, one for herself and sister and another one for me. She also booked 6 spa treatments for us and made sure treatments were about the same time. The representative on the phone was very helpful at the time of booking. She told my D that we would have 2 rooms next to each other on the third floor One week before we arrived, D got a call from the spa about having to move our spa treatments around (some in the morning and some in the afternoon). D said absolutely not, we shouldn't be bumped for other guests. Maybe that should have been a sign for us. When we checked in Fri evening, we were told we were the last guests to check in, and we didn't get two rooms that we have booked, instead one of the rooms was to be on the first floor. The first floor room didn't have a window and was so small that you could barely move. It was a huge disappointment to us and we complained. People who worked at the Inn were were understanding, but they were not authorized to do anything. They called the owner of Inn, the response from him was, "So sorry, let me give you a bottle of $20 wine to make up for it." Really?!!! Here was the condition of the spa and inn. The spa was not a true spa, but more of treating rooms in the basement. There was no area to relax between treatments. They only had 2 treatment rooms, so it would not be ideal for a large party. They had a solarium on the 4th floor with a balcony for guests to use. The solarium was sparsely furnished with chairs, no sofa, no coffee table or games. The bathrooms were sufficient, but the furnishing in the rooms were not luxurious. The decors were a bit outdated. What really baffled us was that there were people who checked out on Sat and they never offered to move us from the first floor to another floor. Do not ever stay in the room 102. It was right next to the stairs and they started slamming the doors 6am in the morning when they were sitting up their continental breakfast. The staff was very friendly and tried to helpful. Beacon was a nice town to visit, great food and many cute shops. There are other nice B&B around the area to stay at. My sense is that the owner, who was never at the inn the whole weekend, really didn't give a crap about his/her guests. Never once did he try to talk to us, he let his staff deal with it. read more

Perfect way to end our 48 hour getaway. We weren't able to get the couples massage we wanted however Kathleen was able to finagle a couples massage/facial with a mass after for my fiancé. It was just the relaxation we needed! Our masseuse Melissa was amazing using just the right amount of pressure to work out the kinks and give me an hour away from my everyday life that was much needed. Roger, the owner was as gracious as any host could ever be and the space itself is absolutely exquisite! Just the oasis you seek when leaving the grind and grit if NYC. I LOVED this place! My boyfriend and I just did the midweek spa package, and it was exactly the restorative experience I was craving. The inn itself is so nice and welcoming. It's also well located in town. The staff is incredibly accomodating, and I loved the small details like the chilled bottle of prosecco waiting for us in our room. My favorite part though was the spa. The hot stone massage was the best thing I've ever experienced. I went from stressed to relaxed so easily. The facial was great. I appreciated her tailoring it to my needs. I also loved the yoga class...very attentive instructor. Definitely do this! Im so glad I chose to spend time there. read more

We stayed here over the last weekend of 2017 - The staff is fantastic and super helpful. Room was cozy, the inn is clean, and agreed the top floor is a nice place to unwind. Looking forward to returning to Beacon again in the Spring - will definitely stay here again. read more
